Description: It's down-home charm vs old money disdain as Lightning Spangles and Karin Kanzuki meet in an exhibition match!

Treading the line between opulent and kitsch, the Sea Horses Grand Hotel is a testament to both mankind's whimsy and his unending need to spend vast amounts of money on ridiculous nonsense. It's actually one of the better self-contained resort hotels in Rio de Janeiro, offering residents easy access to the beach from the front side and - at the back - a small, but exclusive, commercial village offering such illustrious establishments as 'Bookman' and the 'Quack Café'. The true delight, however, lies in the plaza these buildings surround.

It's here that the hotel hosts exhibition fights between accomplished and appropriately flashy warriors, and it's easy to see why. Fringed by a low wall of black marble, a shallow circular pool of polished flagstones forms the centrepiece of the area. Dotted around are circular grills - no more than eight inches across - that periodically release vertical jets of fresh water. Several seconds apart, each explosion of the dozen or so geysers is accompanied by rays of illuminating light that colour the streams alternately red, blue and green.

Aside from the stores fronting immediately onto the electric fountain, it is flanked by high banks of feature waterfalls that serve to feed and circulate the water used to produce those impressive geysers. Steps rise alongside them, leading off into Rio town, and the northern side opens out into an avenue of palm trees. At the foot of the steps leading to the hotel is another, smaller fountain boasting the form of two rearing stallions. It's certainly not tasteful, but the designer of the Sea Horses certainly knew how to draw the eye.

Lightning Spangles stands in one corner of the fountain, dressed in her showup hoedown outfit. "Howdy Y'all! I'm Lightning Spangles, the all American Hero!" She falls into her Tae Kwon Do stance

"Can I get a yee haw?"

"Yee,"

Karin Kanzuki was stretching until Lightning Spangles introduced herself; her back is /still/ turned to her opponent. Even as she claps for Lightning Spangles, she doesn't /look/ at the other woman until it is time to give bouncing blonde ringlets a flip, then pivot into assuming a fighting stance while flashing the cowboy starlet a self-satisfied smirk.

"Shall we, Ms... /Spangles/?"

"Sure enough, Miss Kanzuki!"

Lightnig SPangles gives a salute, as the bell rings to start the fight. Lightning Spangles herself approaches, bouncing on her heels as she closes in on Kanzuki, not quite attacking yet, but making sure that distance is closed.

"Ms. Spangles... you really MUST tell me who's responsible for this get-up of yours," Karin offers, watching Lightning Spangles approach without hardly budging beyond breathing-- until she /abruptly/ lunges towards the All-American Hero, swinging both arms one after the other in downward, scything arcs meant to throw the starlet's defenses off-kilter.

"I could tell you, pardner!"

Lightning Spangles block the two swipes while she is stepping in, not losing her footing one bit. "But I'd have to showup cold-down kill you! Yee Haw!" The Spangles counters with a swift chain of four kicks, a rapid chain of roundhouses to overwhelm Karin.

Knife-hands slap towards Lightning Spangle's ankles each time they snap towards her head, sending the blows astray and firing painful shocks through her arms. "Ah! Pity."

As soon as the fourth kick is repelled, Karin hurtles forward with a palm-thrust aimed at the other woman's gut, hoping to catch her off-guard with sheer speed and perhaps steal a little of her wind in the process.

"I would have had him fired and smeared for inflicting... THAT upon you, but I rather /like/ my life~."

Glancing Blow

"Well truss me up and call me a roast chicken"!

Lightning Spangles exclaims as the last kick comes slicing down. When Karin bursts with the palm thrust, she was turning away from it, the straight grazing her round hips with a fiesty bruise. "Did you just assume my fashion director was a -man?-" Lightning Spangles gives a straight kick, sending a straight boot aimed right at the curly-haired ojou's chest.

Karin's arms snap shut around the incoming boot. She snatches it between her forearms for an arresting beat, then tosses it aside so she can hurl herself right through Jezebel's guard to sink an elbow into her midsection, then sway back.

"-- but then, I suppose that isn't a GUARANTEE, is it? You're right, darling: my sincerest apologies!"

[JEZEBEL]
Lightning Spangles groans as she takes the elbow to her torso, staggering back before falling into a roll. "You don't need any class..." She declares, as she rises back up in a stand. Reaching her apex, she thrusts her arm in the air she makes a pose.

"When you are THE GREATEST AMERICAN EVER!"

She flashes with red, white, and blue energy as she keeps posing, charging up with energy before she lets out a hearty yodel.

"YEEEEEEE HAAAAAAW!"

"Spoken like a /true/ American," Karin sighs, rolling her eyes.

Fleet feet shuffle back and forth, to and fro. Karin weaves this way and that a couple times, just to test Lightning Spangles' guard before finally hopping towards the other woman's right and boldly reaching right into the patriotic plumes of energy roiling around Lightning Spangles to go for a hip-toss.

Lightning Spangles doesn't just get thrown around by some rich lady like that.

When Karin seizes her up, Lightning Spangles actually rolls with the throw, tumbling with it into a rough roll. Hitting her feet on the wall of the fountain, she was still flashing red, white, and blue as she launches off the wall of the fountain. Spiralling through the air like a football, she attempting to bowl right through Karin as contrails of energy cascade around her.

"WHERE EAGLES DARE!"

Spiraling through the air like an AMERICAN football, Lightning Spangles catches the haughty Kanzuki entirely off-guard. There is an /attempt/ at putting her forearms defensively in front of her face; it fails, leaving her tangled up with Jezebel while red, white, and blue contrails flicker around their tumbling bodies.

"How-- oh, you /ridiculous/ STEREOTYPE of a woman--!" she barks while they roll, and after they land with Karin sprawled on her back and breathless. "-- awful, UNGRATEFUL-- I would have had the PERSON who dressed you like a sad child alone at her birthday party BLACKBALLED for what he has done to you--!"

Spinning into a kip-up, Karin keeps the twirl going until it's time to hurl herself into a pair of swift, rising kicks aimed at Jezebel's chin.

"I'm no raggedy Nerfed witch, pardner! I am the real Spangled deal!" Lighting Spangles tumbles as she lands, building momentum as she launches up in the air. She swings her leg hard up, attempting to slam it into Karin. Instead, the girl rises up into the cowgirl instead , her own two kicks interrupt Lighting Spangles and knocking her flat on her back.

"Ouch, jeeze! Was that cause how I was dressed?!" She says as she begins to get up

[KARIN]
"THAT was because you ruined MY dress," Karin snaps back, gesturing at the rumples on her front. The dirt on her back is harder to indicate, but it's THERE.

And she KNOWS it's there.

And she is FURIOUS about it, as evidenced by the speed with which she races after Lightning Spangles to seize the cowgirl by the collar and hold her fast through a pair of knee strikes to the gut.

"Well with the way you were dressed, you were asking for-" Lighting Spangles cannot finish that line because Karin was grabbing her by the neck, and just bringing those knees into her. Gasping on each hit, she reaches out to grab Karin as well, and try and roll on her back. Should she succeed, she would launch Karin up into the air with her legs, and then at the apex, Karin would be blasted with a red white or blue firework!

High in the air, Karin tucks into a ball and lets the firework explode against her knees. She then rolls through the impact, only to promptly shift her momentum TOWARDS Lightning Spangles, tumbling forward for a few feet before springing into the air, unfurling, and trying to slam her sole into Lightning Spangles' face.

Lightning Spangles doesn't even have time to get up, before Karin is rolling right her way. When she springs out, the kick hits her in her beautiful Spangles chin, knocking her hard on the fountain floor once more. She is getting up even slower now, but she seems to speed up when she shouts. "I am Lighting Spangles, the All American Hero!" She runs at Karin, and unleashes a megaton punt to sent Karin in the air. If she hits? An advertisment will flash to the viewers at home, before Lightning Spangles would finish with an explosive roundhouse kick into Karin before she hits the ground!

It's only confusing to people who aren't familiar with Lightning Spangles:

Karin intercepts the charging cowgirl by lunging into the blitz with a whirlwind of slaps across the face, and Lightning Spangles /keeps coming/.

The kick /still lands/.

Karin /still goes flying into the air/ while an ad for Spangles Brand Pull-Up Hoedown Trainers for Little Cowpokes flashes across the screen, and -- whether it is followed up on or NOT -- she still lands in a fountain, which she /immediately/ commences thrashing to escape while fuming.

[JEZEBEL]
"Haw-YEEEEE!"

When the false Jezebel is slapped through her whole pitch for Spangles Choice Pull-Up Hoedown Trainers for Little Cowpokes, she finds herself needing a pair after she kicks Karin clean away. Sure enough, a new spangles subreddit was born that night. As the darkness envelopes her, Lighting Spangles unleashes a flash of three kicks, sending a parting shot of a fireworks barrage at and around Karin in the shape of the American flag.

Before she collapses in a heap in the ground.

Karin launches herself clear of the fountain just in time for the fireworks barrage to pepper the water, exploding through it with a series of violent microgeysers. Thanks to a timely roll and -- a little -- scrambling, she just about manages to make it look like she WANTED to tuck and roll out of a fountain and into a roughly composed fighting stance, for the cameras.

Nevermind the wet hair.

Or the scowl.

"... /hmf/," she exhales, pushing wet blonde coils behind her shoulder.
