Match of the Millennium

Description: Fuelled by a desire to improve herself, Moondyne Mouse attempts to kidnap a roboticist scientist--however the Ikari Warrior Lita stands in her way.

[LITA]
In Sunshine City, California, in one of the warehouses located in the Outer Sunshine area, there is a scientist by the name of Lawrence Owens toiling away as he attempts to draw up plans for a more efficient energy system for machinery allowing androids to do more with less power. It was all part of a plan to make a more compact power system so that androids would have more space for more enhancements.

The Ikari Warriors were assigned on protection detail as security for the building while the scientists were at work as well as part of an escort detail when they went to their living quarters. Lita in particular was assigned to protect Dr. Owens from his trip to the building to the car as well as ride with him in the vehicle until they get to the scientist living quarters in Inner Sunshine where she would perform a hand off with a fellow Ikari.

As she escorts Dr. Owens to their vehicle, the former Delta Red is looking around for threats.

With a resume like Owens had, it was a bit of a no-brainer that he'd eventually get the attention of Moondyne Mouse. Guys like that had been on NESTS radar before, but it wasn't her handlers she was on a mission for this time--this was for her team. If she wasn't able to get stronger, then the chances of her being able to try and liberate them were low--and besides, who said a little self-improvement ever hurt...?

Problem was... this Ikari Warrior situation... she hadn't expected this large of a security detail. Grabbing him at the residence probably would be trickier--even if she hadn't already geared up to infiltrate the place via a holographic disguise. Right now, he was alone--with just one person with him.

Moondyne walked right along behind the two as they nearly made it to the car--decloaking, she's going to be right to the point.

"I think I'll be needing the old man's help, problem is--I don't think he's free for a playdate, is he?" Moondyne Mouse grinned a little, showing off a pair of buck mouse-like teeth, her stature quite short in comparisons to Lita--Moon was only about 5'0" or so, after all.

"You wouldn't be able to lose 'em for a few hours, would ya? maybe go take a powder, go check out a copy of bodybuilder chicks monthly...?" she said playfully.

[LITA]
The cake-walk guard details were bound to end at some point. It was just that Lita would've preferred that it wouldn't have been her assignment. As the five foot nothing mechanical mouse appears, she takes another glance around to determine whether there's more enemies incoming as she moves between Moondyne and the doctor.

"Unfortunately, he has an appointment he needs to get to that cannot be canceled."

Lita doesn't quite take a fighting stance yet, but it looks like she's ready to act if the situation calls for it. She's still glancing all around the area for the cyber mouse's backup if there is any, while keeping the lion's share of focus on Moondyne.

"Stand down."

The bodybuilder chicks comment doesn't receive a verbal response, however, she finds herself thinking that she would be more of a fitness competitor than bodybuilder. Not enough bulk.

[MOONDYNE]
"But I'm standing up..." Moondyne looked confused, then around a little, before back to Lita. She was apparently making light of the situation--or maybe she was just a bit confused there. It was hard to tell with this one!

"I guess you'll just have to shoot me, then... but I don't see any guns," Moondyne took a few steps closer, observing Lita, her glance shifting from the man to her. "I thought the Ikari warriors were you know... commandos," she asked, a bit more curiously. "Don't you know, blow stuff up, kill things, shoot people?" her tail swished about behind the mouse, putting her hand on her hips.

Lita, among both Delta Red and the Ikari Warriors, is known as someone who's crazy enough to bring a sword and a bunch of knives to a gun fight, and skilled enough that she has a fairly decent chance of winning. She might even do well if she were limited to just improvised weaponry.

The blonde Ikari Warrior had stop to take stock of the situation. She was between the robotic mouse and the scientist. The mouse was between them and the vehicle. A path needed to be cleared to the vehicle and so she slowly shuffles closer until she's in grappling range and then uses her own hip for leverage as she attempts to throw the robot down to the grown. Should she manage the hip throw, she'll then follow up by trying to stab her hand in to Moondyne's chest.

Moondyne is grabbed by the Ikari warrior and thrown to the ground--though the hand stab to her chest meets an armor plate--the impact of being thrown down seemed to affect her more.

"Well that answers that--" Moondyne rolls away and picks herself up, a strange phenomenon spreading out from her white furred palm as she places it against the ground--it's like watching a completely different image bleed into focus as it spreads across the ground and erects a different space around them. It's an airfield... choked with palm trees and shrubbery.

"Thought this might feel closer to home for an 'Ikari Warrior', heh," She rises to thrust a palm out against Lita, with her fingers extended--trying to misdirect her by palm punching her right to the face!

COMBATSYS: Lita interrupts All Finger Strike from Moondyne with Overhead Strike.

Lita cringes slightly when her finger tips impact the plating. It was a moment where she was grateful she didn't have long finger nails. She could only imagine agony she would be feeling if she broke her nails on the armored chest plate.

She doesn't have the opportunity to pounce on the fallen robo-mouse since it was already rolling back to their feet. An overlay of plant life and airfields brings forth a troubling revelation. Even if she were to clear a pathway to the car, there was no guarantee that the scientist would be able to find it easily let alone without risk to himself. He might even accidentally wander into traffic and get killed by an oncoming vehicle. She turns to Dr. Owens and says, "Hold your position here."

That's when Moondyne comes back to redirect her guard. Meanwhile Lita steps forward and to the side as she gets an angle. The cybernetic combatant delivers a palm strike, glancing off Lita's neck and jaw just as the mercenary brings her hands together and slams them down on Moondyne's head.

"How bleedin' thoughtful of you."

[MOONDYNE]
"Owwww--!" Moondyne misses the palm strike--and winds up getting bonked on the head hard enough to make her vision--and thus her eyes--flash static for a moment as she cringed in pain. Shaking herself back to reality, her vision cleared again, and she stared down at Lita through her red visor-covered eys.

"Damnit," Moondyne still looks a bit unsteady--but doesn't relent, striking with with a quick chopping motion with her right hand--trying to land it on Lita's cheek--or perhaps the side of her head!

"Lot stronger than I expected for a blonde lady, oof--" she seemed to have felt the last one.

The blonde weaponmistress doesn't pursue the machine that she just rocked. She is more than happy to take the moment to reposition while the enemy tries to get themself together. The machine was genuinely hurt by that strike. That was curious.

As the unsteady cyber mouse comes in once more, Lita raises her arm to intercept the impact as she spins with the blow. As she does so, her free hand moves towards the quick release latch on her back freeing her ridiculously large sword strapped to her back.

"You mean to tell me that you thought that this weapon was just for show?"

Why carry such a fricking huge sword if she wasn't able to use it? She would need power to just hold it let alone wield it to her level of proficiency. She then steps forward and slashes horizontally across the torso.

"...Perhaps?" Moondyne is dreadfully honest there, tilting her head as if confused again. "Who actually gets weapons training--for things like swords, even? I thought they're supposed to be--oof--ceremonial," Moondyne formed a glowing solid holo-barrier around her first and turned the sword's edge away from her--pushed back by it with a VHS warping effect around her. Seems like her blocking that still expended energy she used to create her holographic constructs!

"You're making me late for my study lesson with the professor there--here we go!" Moondyne's eyes glowed for a moment, suddenly the ground beneath them both seemed momentarily shifting--as if something threatened to erupt out of it.

Once the glowing subsided, the image of the mouse split off into a half-dozen others--all appearing to emerge from the central body, shadow clone style--and all presented accurate diplicate targets!

Soon Lita was dealing with a half-dozen mouse clones--all circling and dancing around her with feints, punches and kicks.

The weapon wielding blonde carefully redirects and dodges the punches and kicks while giving occasional nudges to Dr. Owens to move him as necessary to protect. All in order to maintain her position as the barrier between the robot/clones and the scientist. After the last attack, Lita steps forward and to the side as she redirects it so that she is right next to the closest Moondyne to Dr. Owens and proceeds swing the sword three times. First to the head, then the lead leg and then to the body. If this was a human being, it would be clear that she had no interest in sparing their life.

"Like I said, he has other arrangements at the moment and can't go with you."

She then takes a step back to once again shield the scientist.

Several of the clones get sliced--disappearing into holographic pixels before fading entirely--and then the actual Moondyne is caught with that trio of slashes--one to her head, over her arms--as she shielded her body--and then her right knee exploded with a shower of sparks as it was cut into. It looked like it hurt.

"Ahhh!" Moondyne looked down at the leg and clutched at it, she could already feel the power inside of her leaking now, like a human was losing blood.

"Rrrgh--can't stop now, even if you kill me!" she reared herself back up and a glowing prismatic silhouette of the cyber mouse was projected from herself--flying toward Lita with a terrifying right cross--exploding into energy!"

COMBATSYS: Lita blocks Moondyne's Soul Body.

That terrifying right cross plows into Lita who just barely brings up the flat of the blade in time to intercept the attack. It drives the blade, hard, into her shoulder, it sends her stumbling backwards and into Dr. Owens who is in turn sent crashing into the ground. She knew that if that had landed, she would've been in serious trouble.

Kill? Did the mecha mouse imply that it was sentient? This incident gets more and more curious by the minute.

She then spins around as she quickly latches her sword to her back and goes for her other signature weapon, the kunai, and flinging it right for Moondyne's center mass. Her breathing is starting to get shallow and she desperately needs to clear a path towards that vehicle.

COMBATSYS: Moondyne dodges Lita's Kunai Throw.

The kunai flew over Moondyne's head as she dodge-rolled out of the way, trying to pull herself up when she gasped and nearly toppled over, catching herself with one hand. Her right knee had just given out.

Internally, Moondyne is being barraged by warning messages--the main actuator in her right knee was suffering some serious damage--and that sword blow had torn into her ear and part of her face--luckily it hadn't penetrated or damaged her eyes. That would make it really difficult to do what she felt an ever-increasing urge to do now.

"Damnit--I just needed the doctor for a couple of hours--if you don't want to share I guess I'll take my business--nghh--elsewhere!" Moondyne, now hopping on one leg, largely--which while looking pretty amusing did mean she could move faster than simply dragging her damaged leg around--made a gesture in the air--the palm trees growing around about her and shielding her from sight as she began to make her escape--hopping away!

The trees and virtual tarmac then flashed white hot--trying to disorient those trying to pursue her.

Lita frowns at her kunai not connecting. However there's good news for the weapon wielding blonde. The mechanical mouse was not going to attempt to press the attack any further. As the mouse hops away, Lita's less concerned with pursuit than the safety of the person she was protecting. That's when driver, Lita, and the scientist all get an eye full of flashing trees and tarmac before all fades.

The Ikari Warrior extends a hand to Dr. Owens and helps him to his feet. There's a moment when she clutches her forehead in pain before the two of them get in the vehicle. Lita with her sword unlatched and then the Dr. Owens.

As the three head to Inner Sunshine, Lita's on the radio requesting backup in case Moondyne wasn't the only one after the scientist.
