Match of the Millennium

Description: It is high time for the heir of the Kusanagi clan to learn about his destiny and to be put to the test.

[CHIZURU]
The time had finally come for the clans of the ancient times to join forces once more...

The Seal on the Orochi had been weakened, and dire times were at hand and burden of defending the Seal and warding of this ancient evil had been bestowed on her.

Through the gift of the Yata Mirror, Chizuru has used divination to discover the whereabouts of the heir of the Kusanagi clan. Much to her surprise, it would seem the heir of this clan was, much like her, a young adult in the prime of his youth, and a little bit of researches was enough for Chizuru to find out that Kyo Kusanagi had proven to be quite the prodigy.

Chizuru had decided to go for the direct route : going straight to his residence. Unfortunately, Kyo was not here when Chizuru came but fortunately, his father, Saishu, had been nice enough to invite her to wait for him if she wanted and share a cup of tea with him.

Politely accepting, Chizuru kneels at the traditional low table, holding a cup of tea in both hands, enjoying the silence with Saishu.

[KYO]
When Kyo enters, it's with a small amp in his hand and an electronc guitar on his back, carefully dropping both onto the floor so he can finally stretch.

He doesn't seem to take notice that there's someone else here, or at least doesn't bother to acknowledge her yet, as the first thing that comes out of his mouth is, "I left a huge bag of chips on the table, and now there's tea but no chips. What's going on?" he asks, before Saisho stands, giving Kyo a disapproving shake of his head, and walking out of the room after a bow to Chizuru.

Kyo looks over at her, tilting his head. Not the most polite person, especially for someone of Japanese heritage, he asks, "Who are you? And do you know where my chips are?"

[CHIZURU]
The young woman remains silent as Kyp enters. Her eyes slowly scrutinize him as he makes his way in and she studies the interaction between the father and son. While Chizuru attempts to conceal her emotions, there were hints of mild shock on her facial expression as the scene unfolds. There was something unsettling in Kyo's offhandedness... Why? Chizuru isn't sure but for some reason she had expected... Something else. Was it the guitar and his youthful, careless attitude? His reaction to his father? Or the fact that he asks her about his chips? A mixture of all of that...

Chizuru finally snaps out of her reverie when Kyo speaks to her directly. She blinks, caught off guard by the sudden question, "I have no idea where they are..." She replies softly.

Chizuru slowly rises up to her feet, "My name is Chizuru Yata, and I came here for you, Kyo..." The woman spares a glance over to Saishu, then back at Kyo, "There are very important matters that we must discuss..."

Chiruzu takes a pause, as if trying to find the proper way to explain everything. She had seen this scenario unfold in her head countless time but in none of them had this Kyo in it, "You must know that the Kusanagi clan has a very particular talent. Do you know where this talent comes from?"

[KYO]
"You came here for me?" Kyo asks, looking her up and down once, but then his mind seems distracted again as he hears the bag of chips open in a different room. "I knew it."

Shaking his head, he turns to listen to Chizuru again. "A very particular talent?" He suddenly creates a flame with his index finger, then casually blows it out. "That talent? We inherit it through our bloodlines, I'm the best at it. I'm Kyo Kusanagi, but you already knew that."

[CHIZURU]
As Kyo manifests his flame, Chizuru's lips curl into a smile, "Yes, the Kusanagi flames. A sacred gift bestowed upon your clan, ages ago, and passed down by blood. You may not have heard of me, but the Kusanagi and Yata clans have a long history..." Chizuru explains.

"Much like you, I possess my very own particular talent..." Chizuru explains, "I would like to tell you more about all of this... But first," Chizuru says, lifting one hand up to her template. She closes her eyes to focus on that sound they heard moments ago. "Your bag of chip is... In your father's room... Your father is..." Chiziru opens her eyes, a blush spreading on her cheeks as she glances at Kyo, "... Huh, I hope you didn't want those chips too badly."

[KYO]
"He thinks I need to train and stop eating junk and hone my skills. I don't need to train, I'll eat as much junk as I want." Kyo looks her over again, though this time with a more critical eye rather than the male gaze. "You're also a martial artist. That's an interesting ability, but why did you come to see me? You want to join forces or something? Is there some ancient arranged marriage I don't know about? Not really interested in all that responsibility."

[CHIZURU]
His behaviour was obviously disconcerting Chizuru somehow. Her mouth opens as if to object, but she decides it's probably better to not to get involved in the matter for now. "You could say that, though the talent the Yata clan possess is much less flashy than yours," She admits with a slow nod of her head. The mention of the arranged marriage causes her eyes to widen and makes Chizuru flustered, "Wha... What? I... Heavens, no, that's not it at all.."

Heaving a soft sigh, Chizuru takes a step closer and her expression becomes a bit more stern, "Long time ago, three clans inherited sacred powers in order to seal an ancient evil from this realm. Ever since, it has been our sacred duty to protect this ward..." She bites her lower lip and says, "However, the seal has been greatly weakened and I fear for the worst to come."

[KYO]
"Don't tell me I have to team up with Iori." Kyo asks with a groan, rolling his eyes. "How am I supposed to strengthen a seal? Or is it too late? I hope the ancient evil is at least strong, it'd be disappointing if we beat it too easily."

His confidence/arrogance knows no bounds, but he seems intent on listening to her now, moving to sit on his small amp, plugging his guitar in as he slides the strap over his shoulder.

[CHIZURU]
Chizuru frowns and rests her hands on her hips, "You possess the sacred flame -- the power is within you to help seal and fight this evil, to fight Orochi..." The woman shakes her head at his comment and she follows him to his amp as he gets ready to play some. Alas, all of his reactions were unlike anything she had anticipated. Chizuru takes a moment to assess and gauge him, before she adds, "I fear it might be too late. It is just a matter of time before the inevitable will happen... And this creature, this wicked beast is far stronger than any opponent you have ever faced, one you cannot hope to defeat alone, no matter how stong you might believe you are..." Chizuru folds her arms in front of her chest and she hums softly, arching a brow, "... Do you understand how dire the situation is?"

[KYO]
"I understand that it's dire enough for me to agree to help you." Kyo says before doing a quick, rather sick guitar riff. "I'll team up with you to fight it, but I'm not afraid of this Orochi thing. I don't care how powerful it is, or how powerful anyone is, I'll fight them. Everyone learns in the end how stupid it is to fight me."

[CHIZURU]
Chizuru's expression lightens up when Kyo agrees to help her, her lips curling into a smile. Her eyes wander off to his guitar as he plays, then back at him, "Thank you.." She says, grateful. She tilts her head to one side and considers, "... Is that so, huh? Never had someone rival your strength?" She asks, "There are plenty of dangerous creatures that lurk in this world, abominations barely whispered in legends. Wreteched creatures, I believe, all spawned from Orochi. Much tougher and dangerous than you might expect.. You think you'd be up to the challenge?"

[KYO]
"I've had people rival me, and then I won anyway." Kyo stops playing, sitting his guitar against the wall as he stares up at her and starts to lightly toss a ball of fire up and down in the palm of his hand. "I'm not afraid of anyone, if someone thinks they can take me, I'll fight them. I'm not impressed by spirits, gods and demons. All I care about is if they can fight or not."

[CHIZURU]
"I witnessed your progress for quite some time," Chizuru replies to him with a nod of her head, "You have shown to be quite formidable, the true heir of the sacred flame," She admits, though something in her intonation indicated she wanted to add more but she obviously chose not to.

Her lips curl into a faint amused smile as she finally says, "I might be able to take you on... But now is not the time for that," Chizuru moves her right arm into one of her pocket, picking up a smart phone and handing it over to Kyo, "Here, a little gift... And a way for you to contact me, if necessary, and likewise..." She waits for him to take it and adds, "If you are up to the challenge, then there's a beast I've been tracking down in Southtown. You could join me tonight... Fighting demons and spirits is a whole different story after all,"

[KYO]
"You could have said 'hi'." Kyo says as he takes the phone, immediately poking around at it until she makes her offer. "You can try to fight me if you want, I don't think you'll enjoy the outcome. But I'll go fight this beast with you, if it really is a beast." He stands up and slides the phone into his pocket, looking a bit dubious. "You seem like you did great in your entrance exams."

[CHIZURU]
His comment causes her cheek to blush slightly, "Ah, yes, well..." Fortunately it doesn't linger on that and she simply smiles to the part about the outcome of a possible fight. She blinks and stares at Kyo in confusion as he stands up, "Entrance exame..?" She tries to shake it off and waves her hand up dismissingly, "I'll give you a text for tonight and come pick you up then," She says, "Unless you have... Other questions before that...?"

[KYO]
"No questions. Just tell me when you're ready to fight this thing." Kyo starts heading for the front door, intending to let her out. "I get the feeling I'll have to actually go out and do things now."

[CHIZURU]
The woman makes her way out of the Kusanagi's residence and offers him a polite bow on her way out. Slow and steady... Everything in due time, Chizuru thought. Kyo's arrogance and over-confidence were definitely not what she had expected, but it'll be something she'll try to deal with and expose him more and more to his duty and responsabilities when the time comes.

Later that night, Kyo's new phone vibrates gently. A new message from Chizuru, the only contact that was already in the phone. 'Going to be there in 15 minutes' said the message.

... And about fifteen minutes after this message, a roaring growl echoes in the streets not too far from Kyo's residence as a Kawasaki Ninja 300 motorcycle came down to an halt in front of his place. Chizuru was its rider, but considering the formal attire she wore and the leather bodysuit and biker helmet she had on, it was quite a contrast. She straightens herself up from the bike, glancing over to Kyo's place.

[KYO]
"Whew." Kyo tug his collar, a bit of smoke escaping it as she rolls up. He heads inside for a moment, then takes out a helmet of his own, walking over to hop onto the back of her bike once it's on. "Nice bike. Where are we going?" he asks, wrapping his arms around her waist.

[CHIZURU]
The fact Kyo returns with his helmet causes Chizuru to smile, "Guess this isn't your first time then," She comments, her voice slightly hushed down by the helmet. "I'll spare you the details, but a monstruous beast set up his lair in a junkyard in the nothern districts at the outskirt of Southtown. Over the past weeks, a couple of brutal murders occurede due to his bloodlust and presence, and we're going to stop it."

After those few explanations, Chizuru leans on the motercycle slightly, "Hold on tight," She says, revving up the engines before she takes off slowly at first, but quickly gaining speed when they reach the main roads of Southtown.

[KYO]
"I have my own bike, but hey, if you're already driving..." Kyo looks around as they ride through town, lights reflecting off his helmet. "When you say beast, what exactly do you mean? Am I gonna fight a bear or something?"

[CHIZURU]
It takes a short while to get to the nothern district, but soon enough the duo is there. Once Chizuru draws closer to the junkyard she slows down to a full halt. The junkyard was a wide open space, with a metallic fence all around it which was about ten feet in height. A few spotlights were here and there, casting a dim-light inside of the junkyard.

Chizuru removes her helmet and lets her hair flow freely, shaking it so her locks straightens themselves. "A bear? No... Something worse than that," She says, "An aggressive and cunning creature, intelligent to a fault... A hulking, towearing creature.. Perhaps as imposing as a grizzly,"

Chizuru then glances at the fence as she gets off the motorcycle, then back at Kyo. She didn't say anything, but the question was all in her gaze.

[KYO]
Kyo steps off the bike, removing his helmet and sitting it on the back. He follows behind her, straightening his jacket. "I feel like I'm walking into a prank." he admits, creating a flame with his finger as they look around. "Do you know exactly where it is?" he wonders, but, then he notes the fence, and grabs it with his hand.

He heats it up, causing a portion of the fence to turn red, then it just melts.

[CHIZURU]
Chizuru's facial expression shows her surprise at Kyo's ingenuity when he melts the face. It soon fades away and returns to its stern expression though and Chizuru shakes her head, "I have scried upon the beast, and know this is where he made his lair, but I do not know where he might be at this exact moment..."

The woman makes her way through the hole he made into the fence, "With a bit of luck, we'll be able to surprise it... And not the other way around... Proceed with caution," Chizuru advices.

[KYO]
Kyo steps into the fence, cracking his knuckles with a bit of a grin. "I'm not interested in surprising this thing. Whatever it is, I'm ready." He draws his hand back, then tosses a fireball into the middle of the area, causing a small explosion. "Hey, Mister Beast! Come out here and fight us, unless you're chicken shit!!!"

[CHIZURU]
So much for caution -- unfortunately, Chizuru fails to react in time to prevent Kyo from doing his stunt. "What, wait, no...!" She stammers, eyes wide and glaring at him in disapprova as he shouts out for the beast to come out.

Then... Nothing.

The junkyard remains silent, no sign of any creature or reaction from Kyo's shoutout. Chizuru heaves a sigh and she shakes her head, glancing at Kyo, "That's precisely what you shouldn't do," She scolds.

As she scolds Ky though, the beast finally shows up on a pile of stacked cars. The creature lifting a car easily over his head, towering atop this pile of wrecked cars with his massive piece of junk in his arm. It is a massive creature, standing over nine feet in height, broad shoulders and a fitting musculature. He growls and tosses the massive car over both Chizuru and Kyo to crush them.

The creature was an abominatio, mostly beast in look, with furr all over his body, large claws and a drooling maw with keen fangs. Large bat wings spread out from his back and a large scorpion tail was rising up behind his back. He stood on his hind leg, standing like a giant humanoid.

"Where the hell did -that- thing even come from?!" Kyo asks, moving to grab Chizuru and leap into the air as the car crashes down under them.

He lands in front of it and, in turn, releases her so that he can face the creature. "Alright asshole, I don't know what you are, but clearly you want to fight."

Dashing forward, he flings a wall of fire at the beast to see how it reacts, and follows it up by swinging a spinning jump kick at the creature's chest.

Kyo's shout causes Chizuru to glance over her shoulder at the creature as it hurls the car at them. Before she can react, Kyo has already gotten a hold of her and managed to leap out with her. She staggers slightly and regains her composure, taking her time to assess and study the beast, unlike Kyo who leaps right in, "Wait, we need a strategy..!" She says, her warning lost in the wind as Kyo attacks.

The creature stares at the two and lets a gutteral laughter out of its throat, "Seems like dinner came to me this evening, ahah..." When the flames burst at him, the creature takes a step back and kneels, his wings stretching out to shield him from the flame somewhat, scorching the thicker hide.

His wings spread open just in time for Kyo's spinning kick, his arms reaching out to slow down his kick. He winces in pain and growls, his clawed hands on Kyo's leg as he attempts to use this leverage to swing him around and brutally hurl him into a pile of stacked cars.

"This thing can talk?!" Kyo asks, right before he slams into the pile of cars.

He lays there, groaning, but quickly pulls himself up, charging forward. "This thing is big and strong, but it can be beaten!"

He leaps into the air this time, trying to slam a solid knee directly into the creature's face. "You're not eating anyone, you're getting roasted before the night is over!"

"Don't you listen to what I said?!" Chizuru shouts out back at Kyo, loud enough for him to hear in spite of the growling monster and noises from their battle, "Those monsters and beasts are intelligent, fierce and ruthless killers..."

The towering beast moistens his lips as he approaches Kyo, "I will crush you, puny weak human!" However before it can attack Kyo, the young teenager leaps at it and manages to slam a mighty knee smash right into the creature's muzzle. The force of the blow is enough to cause the towering titan to stumble backward a couple of steps into a pile of cars, his sheer weight enough to cause the pile to lean back dangerously.

The monster growls, enraged by the pain caused by Kyo. It falls on all four and dashes straight at Kyo, attempting to tackle head first into him with a vicious charge.

While Chizuru seems to sit this one out, instead of interferring right away, she uses particular prayers to try and hinder the beast's movements, slowing it down enough to bolster Kyo's reactions against it.

Kyo finds himself floored, holding his ribs from such a ridiculous impact. Then he slowly pushes himself up again, looking over at Chizuru. "I don't care how vicious this bastard is!" he shouts, coughing up a bit of blood. "He's a monster, but I'm Kyo Kusanagi. I'll show you what that means!!!"

He holds his hand up, his entire body suddenly covered in an orange flame-like glow as plasma-like fiery energy rises from his body repeatedly. "Ura! 108 Shiki, Orochinagi!!!"

He swings his arm, unleashing a huge wave of flames at the beast, scorching the ground on its way over.

The fiendish beast did not seem scared by Kyo in the least. The force he unleashed on him had angered him more than anything and after he smashed to the floor, he was even more bent on crushing him and tearing him to pieces. He growls at Kyo, claws out and ready to lunge at him once more until Kyo's hands surge with the sacred flames.

The beast attempts to cower in its wings onec more to absorb a part of the scorcing flames, however the pure blast of energy overwhelms him, breaking through his attempt to defend himself. Soon the creature howls in agony, the waves of flames engulfing him and blasting him away from Kyo, knocking him over a pile of cars and causing them collapse all around the creature.

The beast was greatly weakened by the young Kusanagi's attack, having a hard time to rise up, coughing up blood, his scorched furr showing the various burns on his body. He staggers, no longer showing the same glare of ferocity but a glee of fright in his eyes as he tries to approach Kyo and swing his claw at him.

For a moment, Chizuru had thought about interferring more and helping Kyo, but the display of strength and the use of his flame left her to remain behind and just watch the fight unfold for now.

"Wrong move asshole!" Kyo shouts, charging forward and blurring above the monster's strike, instead slamming a swift elbow down into the beast's head, using the force of the strike to thrust himself back and land behind it. "I said before, I don't care how big you are, or how strong you are, you're not Kyo Kusanagi! Just give up, it's sad now."

[CHIZURU]
The force of the blow was enough to cause the huge beast to crash down into the ground. A loud screech of pain bursting out of his lungs as Kyo smashes him into the ground and lands back. The might of Kyo's punches and his flames seemed to be enough to deal with the powerful brute.

Chizuru smiles, "Looks like you live up to your name." She says, relaxing a bit as the fight seems to have ended. However, the beast, in the last burst of energy growls and rises, a massive wave of chi energy gathering in its maw before he unleashes a beam of pure energy right for Kyo Kusanagi, a desperate attempt to try and destroy his attacker before it collapses.

"Watch out!" Chizuru shouts out to him as she notices the beast's gestures.

"Being big and hairy doesn't make him more impressive than anyone else who sucks at fighting." Kyo says, right as the energy beam is launched at him and Chizuru calls out. He turns around, his flames already beginning to build, but Chizuru might be able to act even quicker.

Able to react swift and having a superior positioning when the beast unleashes his final attack, Chizuru dashes toward Kyo to put herself between him and the beam of energy. Her hands intercept the beam of energy, her hands moving in a fluid motion to deflect the beam harmlessly into a pile of stacked car.

The burst of energy explodes into the car, causing metal to screech loudly and pile of junk to go flying here and there. Chizuru heaves a soft sigh of relief and she glances over at Kyo, "You've certainly proven yourself to be quite capable of fighting such creature indeed.."

She then glances down at the unconscious creature, "Now that your mighty flames have downed this beast, it is my turn to do my part.."

[KYO]
"I told you what would happen." Kyo says as he stares down at the creature, putting his flames out. "So what exactly is your part?"

[CHIZURU]
"You will see soon enough..." Chizuru says with a smile. She turns her eyes down to the beast and then adds, "... And then I will be able to explain you more about our particular powers and their origin..."

Chizuru closes her eyes, gesturing with her hands, moving gingerly almost as if she was dancing around of the beast, her movements leaving evanescent trails of chi behind her, each gesture causing symbols to glow around the beast, which glows and becomes engulfing in a soothing, almost calming aura of energy.

The creature glows brightly for a moment before the chi dissipates, leaving nothing behind it.

Junkyard Monster wakes up.

[KYO]
"What did you do?" Kyo asks, watching her work, looking absolutely perplexed. "Did you completely vaporize it? Seems like overkill."

[CHIZURU]
"It might seem that way," Chizuru replies, turning on her heels to face Kyo, "But that is not what happened," She says, shaking her head, "I have banished this creature, sealing it away from this world..." Her lips curl into a smile and she lowers her gaze at herself, "I might not look like it, but the Yata clan has been fighting such creatures for generations... The flames was the gift given to your family to fight those creatures, my clan received this as its gift, the power to seal away the evil that roams on this earth.." She arches a brow and then asks, "Tell me, what do you know about the history of your clan, the Kusanagi?"

[KYO]
"I've heard of Orochi and that we were one of three clans that sealed it, but I didn't know if I really believed all of that until you came. I barely listened to the explanations when I was taught it. I know a bit about our history, but why are you asking?" Kyo wonders, staring at where the monster previously laid unconscious. "And what are we supposed to do after this?"

[CHIZURU]
"Nothing," Chizuru answers, glancing at the same place as Kyo is, "Our job here is done... For now," The woman explains with a slow nod. "While it has been the duty of our clans to maintain and protect the seal, my clan has been deeply engaged into it for the past centuries," Chizuru explains, "Alas... Even if Orochi was sealed, I am convinced that its tain, its corruption had been spreading, attempting to reach out someone... Something to set it free," Chizuru heaves a sigh softly and closes her eyes, "... And I fear it is just a matter of time before it happens,"

[KYO]
"Then we just kick its ass, problem solved." Kyo tosses a fireball up and down in his hand, before allowing it to blow away like dust. "This thing we fought tonight was pretty tough, but not -that- tough. Getting a feel for fighting a monster is tricky, but I'll fight Orochi, I don't care how strong it is."

[CHIZURU]
The woman can't help but chuckle at Kyo's enthusiasm answer, "More or less, yes... The Kusanagi and the Yasakani were given sacred flames to fight those creatures. A divine power that is the key to defeat the Orochi and my clan the power to seal it away," Chizuru says. She folds her arms in front of her chest and says, "This is but a spawn of the Orochi... You were fortunate it ended so well after your reckless way ot handling the creature.."

[KYO]
Kyo's eyes follow her arms to her chest, then he moves his vision up to her eyes again as if correcting himself. "My biggest regret is that I didn't just throw a huge pillar of fire at it and smashed it into oblivion, but I'll be more cautious when it's against Orochi."

[CHIZURU]
Chizuru turns on her heels and makes her way back where they came from, "We'll improve with time, fighting those lesser evil, learn to work together as a team as well," Chizuru admits. Her lips curl into a smile and she adds, "Be on the lookout for any sign of supernatural events, but whenever I will find any such threat, I will contact you... In the meantime, I will try to find the heir of the Yasakani clan so he can join us in those fights,"

[KYO]
"Do we really need him?" Kyo asks, scrunching his face up in disgust. "But alright, do what you need to do. I don't care how magic they are, everything burns."

[CHIZURU]
Chizuru hums softly but doesn't insist on the matter... For now. It was enough for a single night and there will be other opportunities to discuss more about their common destiny.

For now, the woman returns to her motorcycle with Kyo, leaving this junkyard behind.
