Description: Digging up the past isn't always a good idea : Chun-li soon realizes that her father might have been involved in things much direr than she thought as she receives the visit of two commando women.
Chun-Li's rise into the ranks of Interpol had been quite impressive to say the least. The many feats she had pulled off the past years and many arrestations had earned her quite a reputation : a ruthless, unforgiving agent with a thirst for justice.
Though what drives her isn't a pure sense of justice. Her motivation is much more selfish and personal : the desire of truth and vengeance.
Unfortunately when you start digging up the past, you risk kicking up a lot of dust and dirt everyone prefers to see conceal under the rug, and Chun-li's little investigation in the classified cases of her father had been getting the attention of other members of her organisation who have questionable loyalty to Interpol.
It is almost midnight in this middle class appartment in Hong Kong. A comfortable yet modest appartment, with various shelves, desks and bookcases with various decorative objects here and there. The rooms were dimly lit by the light that comes from the kitchen as well as a few lamps.
A box is opened on a table, a few others put aside. Many folders open up with lots of old files displayed around. Old reports and evidences from old cases that came from the archives of Interpol. Nothing had been archived into the network, probably because it would cost too much and they didn't think it was important.
A box is opened on a table, a few others put aside. Many folders open up with lots of old files displayed around. Nothing had been archived into the network, probably because it would cost too much and they didn't think it was important.
Chun-li sits at the table, reading through old reports, a cup of coffee in one hand, the report in the other. Perhaps tonight would be the night... All she needed was to find a clue, just a little track, a little something that could hint her...
There were other things hidden in Chun-Li's past. Other bits buried. So when the dust and dirt starts rising, the shadow of a skull and wings might be seen within that cloud. As it would turn out - Chun-Li's investigation might not have revealed more than whispers of a name, but the same investigation managed to tip off a Shadaloo informer in Interpol.
And in the end, such things were dangerous.
Shadaloo had a variety of assassins at its leisure. But it was suggested that Chun-Li had some... ability. That would rule out using more conventional assassins. When you wished to do something right, and final...
One sent the Dolls.
Programming - and the whispers of Shadaloo scientists in her ear, brought her to the rooftop of this apartment in Hong Kong, the nigh-silent aircraft that had dropped both her and Satsuki off arcing away. "This mission should not take long," the Bee had told the pilot. "Return to this location in a half of an hour - we should have cleaned up the location by then." In spite of the rumour, the Killer Bee did not believe Chun-Li to be a significant threat, so perhaps her approach was a little cavalier. As... cavalier as she could be, at least.
Waiting a moment to be certain Satsuki was following, Cammy - dressed in typical Doll fashion - descends the side of the building - using little claws to stick to the wall. And when she was certain that she was in the proper place? Well...
%Hanging outside of Chun-Li's window a moment, Cammy glances towards Satsuki, however the other Doll had followed her down. She would let her do the honours of the initial crashing entry - to leap in soon behind after her.
Some secrets need to stay buried; Satsuki is deployed sometimes to make sure of this. Besides -- after her recent Neo League appearance as 'Ginko Himura,' she needs to be reminded of her true duty with some down-and-dirty wetwork. Satsuki, of course, has no objections; she follows dutifully along behind Cammy, moving out of the aircraft just behind her, her blade in hand.
Likewise dressed in the standard outfit of the Dolls, Satsuki uses her blade as her climbing aid -- though it's really more of a tool to slow down a slide down the side of the building. Conveniently, this markedly less controlled descent makes it much easier to transition into the crashing entry that Cammy expects.
If Chun-Li is looking for a hint that she's on the right track, the assassin flipping through the window, sword in hand, might be a good enough indicator. Her landing is a little rough, though; she plows into a desk, banging her knee with some force. It's not enough to hurt her -- but it /is/ enough to stall her movement inward. Perhaps there's still some fatigue from her last fight...
COMBATSYS: Satsuki has started a fight here.

Chun-li reads through the reports she has in her hands -- after days of reseraches into the old cases of her father, she finally stumbled on something of interest. Information that might be useful, former associates of her father. Finally someone who might be able to answer some questions and cast some light on this whole thing.
Just as the two dolls get in position, the Interpol agent is focused on her readings, lost in her thoughts and analysing the information she's just found out.
The loud crashing through the window forces her out of her reveries. Instinctively, chinese woman jerks up to her feet, pushing her chair to rise up rapidly. Her eyes quickly scan the broken window, then down to the woman who just burst in and smashed into one of the desk nearby.
A simple glance at that sword she has in hand is enough for her to know she's in imminent danger. She has no time to think of who they are, but the reason they must be here seems quite obvious : to harm her in some way, or perhaps worse.
Quick reaction, Chun-li shifts her legs rapidly against the chair she was sitting on, performing a rapid kick on the chair with a quick spin to hurl the chair right into Satsuki's direction, hoping it will be enough to knock her off the table before she has the time to lunge at her.
COMBATSYS: Chun-Li has joined the fight here.

To the Killer Bee, wetwork was something almost distant. Such as watching a movie, or playing a video game - it was something she was only marginally involved in. Perhaps the process that had brainwashed her had taken account of this - not only for her, but most of the dolls. So when she follows Satsuki in, well - Cammy's eyes were blank - faraway, as if lost in a daydream.
Briefly - Cammy's eyes do flicker towards Satsuki at her stumbling. She knew that the other Doll was tired - but she suspected that she could fight regardless. But as the chair lashes towards her compatriot, Cammy turns her eyes from her to Chun-Li.
She expected Satsuki to be able to take care of herself, after all. Ducking low, Cammy purses her lips. Launching forward at a speed, she hopes to cross the distance between herself and Chun-Li with a low leap, twisting her body around to lead with her feet, braids twisting to and fro as she spins with the motion.

Perhaps Chun-Li was expecting Satsuki to be unready after her unsteady entrance -- but once she's landed, she's /very/ much ready to go. Her hands move down to her blade, retrieving it immediately; the chair comes toward her and she's ready for it, cutting it clean in two and advancing /through/ the resultant halves. If Chun-Li was expecting to have the chance to breathe after a maneuver like that, she was evidently sorely mistaken.
There's no joy in the success, though, no sense that she takes anything other than the dull sense of accomplishment one gets from eating or breathing from her momentary victory. Her expression remains calm -- even dull -- as she aggresses.
Following Cammy's lead, she takes to the air; unlike Cammy, however, she only takes a few forward steps. Her hand rests on the pommel of her blade as she hops up onto one of the other desks, and the instant she lands, she whips it out with tremendous force; she's a few feet from Chun-Li when she does it, though, making it seem like an intimidating gesture rather than an attack...
... for about a quarter of a second, before a wave of indigo energy rolls off of the weapon, swirling toward the Interpol agent and threatening to leave her unbalanced and unready for the Killer Bee's sting.

The chinese woman doesn't notice Cammy's presence until it's too late. All of her attention was on Satsuki who manages to slice through the thrown chair with relative ease, already ready to leap back right at her.
Chun-li turns her head in Cammy's direction, spotting her just as she's soaring at her and throwing her feet at her. The impact knocks her back and makes her grunt in pain, not quick enough to duck out of the way. The blow made her stagger back into a nearby shelf that trembles dangerously upon stopping Chun-li, a few boxes falling down due to it.
She just has the time to react to the blast of indigo energy, raising her arms up to take protect her vitals. "Who's sending you here!?" Chun-li shouts to the two girls, scanning their outfits, her eyes glancing back and forth from one to the other, trying to find some symbol or emblem of some kind.
In an attempt to get away from her cornered position, Chun-li kneels slightly to get some impulsion and she leaps in the air, jumping above and over Cammy, flipping in the air to land behind her. As soon as she lands, Chun-li quickly turns on her heels in an attempt to deliver a powerful kick to Cammy's midsection / back.

Cammy was aware of most of Satsuki's techniques - in fact, most of the Dolls understood how the others fought. So when her feet find a home in Chun-Li's body, Cammy doesn't even have to glance towards Satsuki. She knew what the other young woman was about to do. So at the end of her spiralling kick, she pushes hard off of Chun-Li to propel herself away, leaving the Interpol officer to do as she will.
And what she willed, apparently, was to surprise her with that vault over her head, and the strike to her back - before Cammy could even turn around - that sent her tipping forward in the room to smack against a counter.
It was at that moment that the Killer Bee... reassessed the situation.
Eyes blank, Cammy glances over her shoulder back towards Chun-Li, breathing out a sound.
That very same counter - Cammy hops up, and with that hop, kicks her legs towards the counter, knocking a dent in the wood of the thing as she launches herself with that kick towards Chun-Li.
Extending an arm, Cammy hopes to catch Chun-Li's throat, and use the momentum to kinda 'swing' behind her, her other hand to go to Chun-Li's hair and tug her head back. Which would open up her front for whatever Satsuki might wish to follow up with.
All Chun-Li's question gets from Satsuki is a shake of the head; while sometimes she's perfectly forthcoming with that information on missions, especially when Shadaloo involvement is already a known possibility, part of the goal of this particular deployment is to /intimidate/ the Interpol agent even if they can't kill her. Accordingly, she says nothing; discomfort in the face of silence is common and natural, and Satsuki understands that it's best to take advantage of it.
As Cammy goes for Chun-Li's throat, Satsuki follows behind her; they move almost in unison. They don't /quite/ have the chemistry of specialized pairs like Juni and Juli or Xiayu and Jianyu, but the Dolls -- and their predecessor -- are parts of a whole, and it shows in their movements.
Satsuki's movement matches Cammy's -- to such an extent that it seems like she's just on a tape delay from the blonde. Sheathing her blade, she goes into a low hop, twirling to lead with her feet as she spins toward the agent. Her mop of dark brown hair doesn't /quite/ spin to the extent that Cammy's braids do -- but she does match the other girl's commitment and aggression with the maneuver, just the same.

Shadaloo might not be the only one who'd like to see Chun-li's fierce determination taken down a few notches. She had been a thorn in the heels of many other organisations lately. However, by the look of Cammy and Satsuki, none of the ones Chun-li had been messing with would possess the ressources to send mercenaries or agents so well trained.
Chun-li barely has the time to recover that Cammy's already lunging back at her. She manages to get her hand on her throat, but Chun-li's quick reaction allows her to break free of the hold before she can try to strangle her. The other hand on her hair makes Chun-li winces as she's tugged backward and quickly shoves her elbow against Cammy to break the hold. However, this close melee struggle left her vulnerable to Satsuki's kick, which slams her midsection again right where Cammy had hit her previously.
The pain causes Chun-li to flinch momentary -- hitting twice at the same spot obviously weakens and makes it more vulnerable.
It was no time for her to lose to them, it was serious business and at this time of night, no one was in the building to hear their cries and the noises of battle.
"Kyaaa!!" Chun-li shouts as she lifts one leg up and leans backward, unleashing a flurry of kicks at Satsuki : high, mid, low, back and forth with surprising agility and efficient as she balances herself on a single foot, attacking with the speed and strength of a cornered animal.
She intends to leave her opponents no opening, no moment of vulnerability this time, attacking both before they have the chance to retaliate. Just as soon as she completes the last kick, Chun-li spins rapidly on her heels and bends down, moving both hands on the ground to stand on them. She completes the twist with her hand, hurling herself in Cammy's direction with her legs outstretched in a split.

Likewise, Cammy was mute upon the reasons that the Dolls were there at all.
Not that she had time to muse upon the reasons anyways. No sooner did she 'release' Chun-Li - release after getting an elbow to the belly - did she have that flurry of kicks launching forward towards Satsuki. Again, Cammy hops backwards, only to kinda push off of the wall and lunge herself forward towards Chun-Li's unprotected back...!
Cammy had experienced a series of miscalculations during this fight so far. And it was becoming exceedingly clear that underestimating the Interpol officer was soon becoming one of them. The quick inversion of the Chinese officer was Cammy's first clue, and when those feet lash out - Cammy grunts, drawing her arm down to catch a foot with her gauntlet. This, of course, knocks her off of her momentum, and sends her away from Chun-Li a bit - not so far as to avoid the other kicks, however. Catching a foot to the side of the face, Cammy leans to one side so that the neck lashing of the foot scrapes along her side.
Briefly, she shares a glance towards Satsuki.
Lunging back to give her even more space, the Killer Bee's hand goes to not just the chair - but the table that Chun-Li was studying at. A side kick knocks it straight up into the air - a spinning roundhouse sort of kick does shatter the table into halves.
But one half tumbles end over end towards Chun-Li.
Chun-Li's rapidfire assault catches Satsuki off-guard; those kicks plow through all of her defenses in short order, her body rocked by each successive blow, seemingly held in place by kicks from differing directions. When the series ends, she falls back with a grimace; she's downright exhausted, and though she's hanging in there as best she can, she doesn't quite have the stamina to deal with hits of such force.
Looking back toward Cammy with her expression still carefully neutral, Satsuki resolves to make as much use as possible of Cammy's incoming distraction; she feels the best fights are those you win quickly, and knowing how to capitalize is a /big/ part of that. Something long and drawn out, as she learned while fighting 'Akemi Hino' last night, can only lead to more problems.
Drawing back into a fighting stance briefly after that forceful series of kicks, Satsuki rushes in toward Chun-Li, practically leaping a circuit around Chun-Li on the desks while Cammy hopefully keeps her attention with that table. Leaping off the table with force, she spins toward her in much the same way she did previously; this time, though, she moves /face/-first rather than feet-first, and her blade spins ahead of her, cutting desks and tables as she flies through the air.

As soon as Chun-li finishes her spinning kick, her hands finally reach out the ground to allow her to catch herself and get back on her feet before the lack of impulsion make her fall. She straightens herself up, knees bent and back of her hands exposed in Cammy's direction. She stares at her with intensity, studying her, a stern expression on her face.
All of the files and reports Chun-li had carefully laid out on the table falls down in a mess on the ground and Chun-li quickly reacts to the piece of table hurled her way by kicking it with her powerful leg out of the way.
A stallmate between her and Cammy for now that bought precious seconds for Satsuki to approach Chun-li. She glances over her shoulder in Satsuki's direction when she hears the noise of her rushing toward her but alas, Chun-li's not quick enough to react.
She attempts to move out of the way but Satsuki's blade blade cuts through her flesh, leaving a nasty cut on her jeans which darkens with her blood almost immediately afterward. The cut earns a screech out of Chun-li's throat and the impact knocks her some, enough to avoid further cuts though this one seemed like a rather nasty one, at least enough to cripple her momentarly for this fight.
With her leg in pain and weakened, Chun-li has to use other ressources to try and deal with them. Despite her best effort to conceal her emotions she was getting nervous somewhat at the outcome. The woman closes her eyes and lifts her arms up, performing a rapid trance which allows to focalize azure chi into her palms, forming a rather massive ball of burning chi in her hands.
When she opens her eyes back, Chun-li lets a loud, "Kyaaa!" Escape her throat as she hurls the ball of chi in Satsuki's direction that bursts out violently upon impact.

Cammy had started her expectations low - and every handful of seconds, it seemed, she had to change her estimation of Chun-Li's threat just a few steps higher. Expressionless features - eyes nonetheless widen as Satsuki attacks - and that blast of energy that lights up the room sends her braids and cap flying behind herself.
Nothing showed on her features.
Inside, Cammy's mind screamed for her fellow Doll.
There was no time to waste anymore.
Ducking low then, Cammy hops up towards the ceiling once more, spiking a hand up into the material of the roof, enough to grab a beam or... anything in there. The bit of roof she grabbed comes apart in her hand, but it was enough room for her to swing forward - swing forward and snap her legs out and down, taking the last few meters like an arrow shot from a bow, leading with her left foot. "Cannon strike!" she calls with the motion.
Contending with energy attacks has always been difficult for Satsuki; the energy of the world is something she doesn't really understand, thanks to her tremendous commitment to the void that is Psycho Power. Everything in her body sings out in anguish as she feels the raw force of Chun-Li's assault against her body; when the massive ball dissipates, she's gone from 'still feeling pretty blandly okay about existing' to 'not really a fan...' though none of it shows on her face, save the involuntary weakening of her expression as her vision swims and her eyes half-lid.
Inside, she's screaming for her fellow Doll, too -- /begging/ for help.
She crumples down onto her knees... but her body, against what might be better judgment, draws up into a standing position in moments. Despite her wobbly knees and her quaking body, she still has to complete the mission -- and that means, in this case, consistent offense. Moving up toward Chun-Li with her legs wobbling, she draws into a parrying stance mid-step -- having lost her nerve, perhaps?
No -- that's not it in the least. It's a feint of sorts -- a split-second of hesitation to bait her opponent into thinking it's safe to aggress. She lunges forward, coming at Chun-Li with cut after cut; despite being slowed and blasted away by that fearsome projectile, she still keeps her offense quick -- indeed, she sacrifices some of the vertical lift on her initial swing for sheer speed. By the time she's on the second cut, though, that's all gone back away; each successive slashing attempt is more desperate and forceful than the last. By the time she's on the final, seventh cut of her assault, she's swinging with /more/ power than she usually does, trying to make up for the weakness of her initial strike.

The chinese woman is panting from exortion after the outburst of chi she has pulled off on Satsuki. A few beads of sweats pearl down her temple and her chest heaves up and down with the bit of fatigue. The steadfast stance she had at the beginning of the fight falters a bit due to the injury she has received recently by Satsuki's sword slash.
The jeans do a good job to hide the wound, but the way there's stained red from her blood shows she's obviously in pain and weakened. Though her fighter instinct shows through the way she manages to casually somewhat conceal her weakened state.
Chun-li moves her hand back, about to attempt to deliver the finishing blow, until she hears Cammy's voice cry out her attack. She barely sees her from the corner of her eyes and Chun-li reacts out of instinct, lunging back to avoid the falling Cammy on her. She avoids her foot, but definately not Cammy's body who literally tackles her back, forcing her to take a few steps back so she doesn't lose her balance. Every step makes her wince painfully as the wound on her thigh sends her spasm of pain.
Though Chun-li hardly has the time to recover that Satsuki is lunging back at her. The chinese woman doesn't fall for the feint though and Chun-li forces herself into a defensive stance, backing away and trying to knock lamps and other boxes on the desks in front of Satsuki's blades.
In the end, they do little to stop her, the slashes cutting through the objects, some slashes going through and actually cutting Chun-li's midsection and right arm, though obviously in a less severe way than the previous time.
Chun-li ends up back to a table and she quickly grips a chair behind her and lifts it up to block Satsuki's sword which cuts through it partially but not totally, the blade getting stuck momentarly into it but she manages to hit Chun-li's right shoulder. The steel slicing through her flesh makes her cry in pain.
With a surge of strength, Chun-li pushes the chair up to push Satsuki away from her momentarly, giving her enough breathing space for a second or two. The woman hops on the table behind her and leaps on the wall, using her legs to push herself away and to jump in Cammy's direction.
As she flips in the air, Chun-li lets out a loud, "Kyaaa!" and she swings her valid leg into a powerful descending dropkick aimed for Cammy's head, her foot bursting with a blast of chi at the same time.

The Killer Bee breathes out, leaping back and away from Chun-Li, trying desperately to put space between herself and the other woman.
That kick finds a home - finds a home atop Cammy's head, and for a moment, her mind is jangled , head snapping backwards - her arms going wide. Briefly, it feels like she might swoon - might faint. The shock to her system - the strike against her head... well, it didn't hurt at all. And that, more than anything else, made Cammy worry. It hadn't been a good week for the Dolls. Face expressionless, Cammy looks up from where she had ended up on the ground, looks up towards Satsuki. And saw her sister in arms struggling as she was to fight on.
A tear forms at the edge of Cammy's eyes, face still blank, eyes still unfocused.
A brief moment, and Cammy - well, she sends her mind away. Sends her mind away and lets the programming take over - lets the protocols and otherwise that dictated her every breath, stole every ounce of emotion away and left the world a comfortable world of numbers and logic.
It left her feeling a little more empty every time she came down from this... 'high', but for the moment, for this very moment...
Cammy lifts her head up, hands moving in spite of the pain to bolster her body up. For a moment, Cammy stares at Chun-Li. For a moment, her mind whirls with thought and calculation. And after a few moments, she comes to a single bright epiphany.
"LOCK ON!"
Lunging to one side, kicking off of the fridge in a motion that made the thing wobble, Cammy was moving fast - not a single motion wasted - flying like a missile at the officer, twisting in the air to drive that gauntlet into her cheek in a backhanded punch. Following through with that momentum, she would tuck that arm in and swing a foot out to strike her midsection - and in a flash of speed that defied the eye that tried to follow it, darted behind Chun-Li - only to rise again in a cannon spike intended for the back of her head. A slightly cruel move.
While Chun-Li goes after Cammy, with her vicious flipping kick, Satsuki takes a second to simply breathe; Chun-Li is very nearly outpacing /both/ of them, and all she really needed to get to that stage was a couple of nice, clean hits on Satsuki. It's hard for her not to blame herself for this one; she's clearly the weak link in the Doll chain here.
The thought passes quickly, though; there is no room for self-doubt in a weapon.
While Cammy lets herself give in completely to her programming, Satsuki finds it harder and harder to cling to hers. "... Numerous irregularities... damage significant," she says, now that she has time to process her agony, rather than needing desperately to redouble her efforts. Her body aches, and the longer she tries to go, the harder it is to tease that last little bit of performance out of herself. ... but she needs to. For Cammy's sake as much as for her own.
Accordingly, she reaches into herself... and finds /him/, instead. While Cammy surrenders herself to programming, Satsuki surrenders herself to the purestrain malice of the dictator. Satsuki, for an instant, smiles. It fits poorly on her face -- a wide, toothy rictus grin, a stark contrast to her usual flat, subdued expressions; it passes quickly, however.
As Cammy assaults Chun-Li, Satsuki runs up the walls, and kicks off of them -- first to the ceiling, then toward Chun-Li. Her foot streaks straight down in one of the Dolls' signature techniques; what follows it, however, is a series of vicious assaults with her blade. There's no real technique here, no sense that things were planned. She treats the blade with no reverence; as it swings down at Chun-Li's form over and over again, she treats it like nothing more than an extension of /his/ will, flashes of indigo rolling of of it with each heavy swing.

Chun-li straightens herself up. Her white chinese top covered in her blood now, much like the thight of her jean. Those two girls were truly professional martial artists, commandos who were sent here definately to do horrible things to her. While Chun-li might have been able to take on most fighters, those two woman were more than ordinary fighters, that much Chun-li could tell after the first few seconds of their fight.
The continued dual assault by both of them is taking its toll on Chun-li's body. The injuries slowing her down, the pain dulling her reflexes and the fatigue wears her down. She had no other choice if she wanted to come out victorious, she had to give it her all.
When both of them lunge at her at the same time with their rapid and vicious strikes, Chun-li hardly knows where to give heads. She manages to block a first punch -- then she tries to dodge a swing of Satsuki's, which ends up grazing her arm and performs a nice long cut over her flesh. This makes her vulnerable for Cammy's foot to her midsection which knocks the wind out of her, making her scream in pain and effort. She tries to deflect the next empowered sword slash but she's already starting to see blurry, failing to do much but earn herself anothre wound on her torso, this one deeper than the other flesh wounds she got from the grazing hits.
This allows Cammy to get in place right for the finishing move where she lunges upward and manages to hit Chun-li hard in the back of her head : the impact sends her more or less flying against the wall, the blow so hard she literally bursts through the thin wall of gisp of the building, the dust blinding Chun-li as she staggers into the next room, spinning on herself, disoriented, dazed... Her arm seeks for something to grip on and the only thing it finds is some sort of curtain, which barely manages to hold on Chun-Li's weight, causing her to wobble even more into her legs. The lack of support coming from the curtain causes Chun-Li's body to rapidly staggers backward into a bookcases, knocking over many books and shelves with her limp body.
She manages to push herself back up but...
THUDS
Her legs fail her and she literally crumbles down on the ground. Pain, exhaustation, injuries. It was too much.

The Killer Bee breathes out as Chun-Li finally collapses, having backflipped away from Chun-Li to get some space - and crouch upon a counter like a gargoyle, displacing some utensils onto the floor. And in silence, Cammy watches Chun-Li slump to the ground, eyes lingering upon the Interpol officer.
She wouldn't take her eyes off of her for a good minute and a half, just... tense. Waiting. Ready.
Resting.
"This woman should be eliminated," says Cammy from the kitchen counter. While good sense would suggest Satsuki's sword applied to Chun-Li's person would probably do the trick, Cammy nonetheless orders, "Along with all of the evidence. Set fire to the apartment - let it spread to the entire building." A beat, and Cammy's eyes linger upon Chun-Li's fallen form.
"...and leave her in here. She will succumb to the flame."
As Chun-Li succumbs to her injuries, Satsuki returns her attention to the Killer Bee immediately. In spite of her wounds, she forces herself to snap back to attention; sheathing her blade, she listens to Cammy's instructions, nodding dutifully. "Understood," she says, calmly. "Please signal our escape craft to return. I will attend to things in the building."
She immediately sets about looking for enough flammable things to get a good fire started; something about putting things to the torch sits ill with Satsuki, but the feeling passes quickly.
Like all of them do.
COMBATSYS: Satsuki has left the fight here.

COMBATSYS: Cammy has ended the fight here.
-------------- A dozens minutes later ---------------
The flames have been spreading, smoke rising from the various papers and other pieces of furniture that have been setup on flames. Chun-Li's body squirms a bit as she slowly regains consciousness. Her vision is still blurry : she lost a lot of blood and could plunge into unconsciousness any minutes. Though the smell of ashes and the smoke keeps her alert : her mind knows she has to force this on her if she wants to survive.
The situation was critical.
Chun-li coughs and weakly crawls on the floor. Not that she can't stand but she avoids the smoke that way. She crawls back into the main room, only to witness the flames destroying all of the cases and files she had been studying. Anger flows through her : the anger of her own powerlessness to change anything right now, to know that the only links she had to her father's past is getting destroyed. There was nothing she could do now aside from save her life from this blazing inferno.
Chun-li manages to crawl up toward one of the exterior walls. She holds herself on it and rises up to her feet, opening the window and letting the smoke escape it. A daring escape as she squeezes out of the window and lets herself fall from the few stories of the building, trying to hold on the ledge from one story to the other, but her weakened state makes her fall as her strength fails her eventually. Fortunately, the fall isn't from too high and her training allows her to roll upon landing and absorb a part of the blow..
Though once she's down and out, Chun-li falls unconscious again... Found by the fireworkers and other persons who arrive on the fire site.
------------------ CUTSCENE -------------------
Two weeks had passed since her Xiang Chun-li's appartment was burned down by fire. The investigation concluded it was caused by electrical failure in the building. The truth was much direr, known only by a few.
After two weeks of rest, recovering from her injuries and filling in paperwork for the insurrances and other things, the chinese woman returns to work finally. The doors of the elevator taking her to the large office area of Interpol's division in Hong Kong opens up.
"Suprise!!" A bunch of persons shout in unison to greet Chun-li.
A myriad of emotion crosses Chun-li's face in a few seconds. First surprise, followed by joy. It was a soothing, heart-warming feeling to see everyone's support after what happened to her. Her lips curl into a gentle smile and she walks in, sharing hugs with some, a few words with others.
They even manage to bring a tear of happiness to Chun-li's eyes. Who could remain of ice in front of such a greeting?
Chun-li had returned to work rather quickly considering the state she was in after the fire. Her concussion and bruises had mostly healed, but she still had bandages over her right arm, shoulder and thighs were she had gotten nasty cuts. Souvenirs of her daring escape from the building.
No one dared to question her about her injuries, perhaps out of respect, not wanting to remind Chun-Li about her losses and that incident. After a few moments, the crowd disperses, returning to work. One man comes to Chun-li and says, "The Chief wants to talk to you,"
She makes her way toward her boss' office and strides in silently, closing the door behind her. Her facial expression back to its stern facade. The man glances up at Chun-li when she enters, "Ah! Chun-li... I'm glad to see you're back on your feet, ahah... Crime doesn't rest, eh? And so do you?"
He rises up from his seat and heaves a sigh, "Look, Chun-li. You're good, you're my best but... You should really take a break, a month or two? You know, give it some time so we forget a bit about yourself..." He says, letting his words trail off. His intonation lacked the confidence to back it up, as if he knew convincing her was a battle he wouldn't win.
"Those who did that to you might come back at you, we have no idea who did this, and if you return to active duty they might..." His words are cut off though by Chun-li who nods her head to him, "You're right," She says, "I'll take some time off for myself..."
The man blinks a few times, obviously surprised by Chun-li's answer, his mouth a bit agape, "Really..? Great!" He says, stretching out, "That settles it then..."
Chun-li approaches the man's desk and she takes up a piece of paper from her pocket, handing it to hand, "I want to have a temporary transfer there," Chun-li says.
He takes the piece of paper and glances at it for a moment, "What? Southtown's police department? No, no... You've got to be kidding, you've dismantled some of the worse terrorist factions, what are you expecting? You're gonna watch out for kids selling weed or worse you're gonna sit in a car all day giving speeding tickets!"
Despite his astonishment, Chun-li's face stays the same : resolute, determined and stern. "So? You want me to take it easy, right?" The man heaves a sigh. He knew that face, she wouldn't let go. He didn't know why she wanted to go there, but she would, with or without his blessing. "Very well, I'll see what I can do..."
Chun-li nods her head, "Thank you," She answers. He grunts and goes back to his chair, gesturing with his arms for her to go, and Chun-li then leaves his office.
Even if the fire had burned all the evidences, all of her father's cases, the fact that she had been attacked meant she was getting closer to the truth.
Seeds of hopes had been planted, and Chun-li had been able to find one feeble lead, a link to her father's past. She wouldn't let go, not until she finds out the truth.
No matter the cost.
