Description: Some go to underground fight clubs for info and connections. Others for money and reputation. And some, like Nightwolf, just happen to be blown in the direction by the wind. The Sin Eater and the Dancing Spider push each other to exhaustion in a brutal fight that those who have watched it will be talking about for awhile.
It isn't often that it happens but there are places where one could find a fight club in Metro City if one is sufficiently connected or just plain out and out lucky. No matter the case, the reason one would seek them out is that it's a good place to build connections if you don't have them for information on various things, build a rep if you want to seek out work, and a place to get your hands on the almighty dollar if your confident in your fighting ability and said confidence is justified.
Keith Mason, known in these circles by his nickname Aranha is in the process of finishing off his current opponent without breaking a sweat with a quick kick combo that pushes the opponent out of the ring made of human bodies. Money is passed around, murmuring fills the air. There's a bit of a pause before the announcer steps into the ring to announce the next opponent.
Connections.
That's one way to look as to why he is here.
The changes in the wind have been impossible to ignore, try as the Sin Eater known as Nightwolf might try. Though a warrior in nature, he had never before sought out places like this, repulsed by the idea of fighting for money and all the other illicit activities that are associated with this underground brawls. Yes, the whispers in his hear have compelled him to see them for himself.
There have been changes in the world around him. Changes force the people to adapt, and those who can't are left behind or become prey for those more successful hunters, for that can be the unforgiving way of nature.
Nightwolf had never thought that he'd use the abilities he learned to seal evil spirits against fellow humans, no matter how corrupted they might be, and yet here he was now, signed up for quite the clandestine event. Something told him that he would need to learn these more 'mundane' arts in the road that is to come, and if what he has heard in his mind is true, this will not be the last time he tastes the water of professional fighting, underworld or otherwise.
The Apache brave discards his vest to leave him bare chested and awaits for the announcer to call him into the arena.
he dancing spider watches as the Native American steps into the ring with spectators acting as the boundaries. The facepaint and clothing is a bit different from what he's used to but considering the locations he's fought, he has seen stranger things.
The capoeirista's fight preparation begins before the announcer even starts the fight. His opponent's approximate physical measurements are taken in and then he stands perfectly straight not even bothering to take a stance until the announcer starts the fight and then his leg steps back before he lets himself get carried into the rhythmic dance of his martial art.
His lips curl into a relaxed smile before he says, "Interesting fashion you've got there, homie."
He extends a hand and beckons in the opponent. He wants to see what type of information he can glean from this particular opponent.
COMBATSYS: Aranha has started a fight here.

Aranha 0/-------/-======|
It's all a matter of perspective. Nightwolf's appearance may be slightly off the norm for Aranha, but in comparison, the shaman is almost at a loss of how to fight another human. When you become used to fighting four armed creatures with blades coming out of their hands and undead ninja with demon powers, it takes a moment to readjust in order to fight a capoerista. Not that it looks like Nightwolf is dismissing the boy's powers, he is merely concentrated on thinking back to his training, before all the demon hunting started.
"Same to you." Whispers the Sin Eater towards his smiling opponent and nods once the announcer calls for the fight to commence.
As Aranha motions for him to come hither, Nightwolf instead relaxes into a familiar fighting stance rather than start swinging right off the bat. His hands are down close to his hips and he's bouncing on the balls of his feet. It looks like a classical Tae Kwan Do stance. Perhaps a tad curious for a man of his ethnicity.
COMBATSYS: Nightwolf has joined the fight here.

Aranha 0/-------/-======|-------\-------\0 Nightwolf
When the Native American doesn't take the invitation to come in, the capoeirista shrugs. He might as well take the opportunity to learn about his opponent by way of offense if he can't learn about his method of attack.
His dance is slow as he moves in closer, shoulder turns and jukes are used to attempt to see how he reacts to feints and then the motion is sudden. Within an instant, he goes straight from upright and dancing to upside down and spinning on his hands as his feet whirl out to smack the Apache in the face.
It was a flashy looking attack, but often it was so fast that it was rare that anyone would be able to punish his flashiness.

Aranha 0/-------/=======|-------\-------\0 Nightwolf
Sometimes it pays to be a little conservative. Knowing nothing about your opponent can be a dangerous thing, a fact that Nightwolf knows all too well. Therefore, he much rather let his excitable opponent reveal his cards first. Aranha will soon learn what kind of fighting style is the Apache Brave capable of, but not just yet.
Having been attentive and anticipating some kind of flashy attack due to his opponent's gaudy nature, Nightwolf narrowed his eyes when Aranha went into a hand stand and reacted quickly. His arm went up and he took the spinning kick attack to the forearm to protect his face, stopping the helicopter spin from continuing.
Very interesting indeed, needless to say Aranha fights very differently than the demons he's used to battle, looks like the spirits were right in seeking this place out.
Nightwolf dashed sideways and away from Aranha to put some distance between them, still refusing to attack. As he approached the other side of the ring, electricity began to be felt in the air as Nightwolf gathered powered within him and unleashed a war cry of "HOKA HEY!!!"
One good thing about underground fighting is that; there is plenty of evil energy to be consumed here and the Sin Eater began to do what he does best. Eat everyone's sins.
Red energy flew out from the spectators without them apparently noticing and gathered around Nightwolf to wreath him in a red malevolent aura.
COMBATSYS: Nightwolf gathers his will.

The sins of everyone. That included the Dancing Spider himself who definitely was not without sin. The sin of thievery, violence, the harboring of hatred towards his parents all get drawn into Nightwolf and the red mist comes out of his body and is drawn into the Apache. The strange sensation washes over the capoeirista and he does not like the seeing how charged off of this the Native American seems to be.
Aranha doesn't want to wait for him to take advantage of this drawn energy and use it against him. And this opponent has made it very clear that this man was not to be under estimated.
The Dancing Spider goes into a tumbling pass before leaping high into the air and gives the Apache a powerful drop kick to the chest.

Indeed!!
There is so much sin here!! Much more than Nightwolf had possibly expected.
Particularly when it becomes obvious to the Apache Brave that he drained quite a bit of sin from Aranha himself, and he was no small donor to his source of power.
Nightwolf's visage becomes positively beastly, muscles growing and pulsing with strength, his once dead pupil-less eyes glowing red, and that malevolent aura burning visibly burns visibly around his body now.
He is so pumped up with strength, that he nearly doesn't see Aranha leaping into the air to swing a drop kick to his chest!
"HRAAA!!" Nightwolf brings his arms up to defend himself and takes the blow on his forearms again, boxer style.
As he stops the kick, Nightwolf seems to be through waiting and raises his own arms up in the air. There, glowing battle axes made of chi appear in his hands, and he swings them down hard right at the Dancing Spider's head.

The muscles grow, the eyes glow red and the red aura. The only thing Aranha is thinking well... He actually gives voice to those thoughts.
"What. The. Fuck?"
If he didn't like what he saw before, he has never, ever, /EVER/ saw anything like this.
The capoeirista sees those bright glowing axes coming down upon his head and he goes into self preservation mode. He charges in with forearms crossed above his head and catching the axe handles on them.
He swings a blue glowing palm right across the Apache's jaw and then spins around to deliver a side kick to the solar plexus.

"HRAAAA!!!"
The Apache is visibly enraged now, and if the glowing red aura that surrounded him wasn't enough for Aranha to tell, the way he snarls in anger when his battle axes bounce off the capoerista's forearms might do it.
Nightwolf seems unaware of the Dancing Spider's complaints about his current form and simply archs his upper body back when his double attack is deflected, letting the green glowing axes vanish into thin air.
Just in time too, because now it looks like it's time for a high five!
Or more accurately, Nightwolf sees the glowing hand swung at his jaw and he catches it with his own! He interlocks fingers tightly with Aranha, but this isn't a firm grip of friendship the two are sharing, Nightwolf's grasp is tight and it doesn't look like he has any intentions of letting Aranha go.
"Wachin ksapa yo." Whispers the brave, an incantation perhaps?
Either way, what happens next is that Nightwolf extend his other hand to grab the Dancing Spider by the face and channels the young man's attack right back at him. Holding him for the reminder of the blow before tossing him away.
The capoeirista is surprised when his hand is gripped. He's even more surprised by the fact that his own chi being turned against him and then he growls in pain as he snatches it back in pain and surprise. He rubs the pain out of his hand as he takes a few steps back. He then walks a couple steps around the ring in an attempt to get his mind together.
He shakes his head. "That was unexpected."
Aranha darts in suddenly eating the the space between them as he slams his elbow right into Nightwolf's stomach, another elbow to the chin and then grab the ankles and pull them from under him.
"Ok. I'm not letting you get out of this unscathed."
COMBATSYS: Nightwolf endures Aranha's Kick Combo.

Aranha 1/-------/=======|>>>>>>>\>>>>>>>\2 Nightwolf
The brave cracks his neck as Aranha does like his name sake and dances away from him to limber. He mimics the boy's intentions and he too readjusts his stance, returning to his controlled classical Tae Kwan Do of bouncing on the balls of his feet.
Unscathed is something that is.. dang near impossible in Nightwolf's line of work. The very act of draining everyone's sin will one day kill him.. at best.. and at worst it'll turn him into a demon.
Nightwolf is prepared to take damage be it spiritual or physical, and shows his determination by meeting Aranha's blows head on.
He clenches his abdominal muscles to cushion the blow to his stomach, grits his teeth when another strike is swung to his face, and then as Aranha ducks low to sweep his legs from under him, the brave throws himself backwards and swings a kick in the air to the Capoerista's face as he's going down on the ground.
COMBATSYS: Aranha fails to interrupt Low Kick from Nightwolf with Bad Beat EX.

Aranha 0/-------/-======|>>>>>>>\>>>>>>>\2 Nightwolf
The capoeirista knows that the Apache brave is going to go low. He had been banking on Nightwolf wearing himself out and making the attack too sluggish to land cleanly. The capoeirista however is a victim of barely misreading the timing on the attack and as a result he gets his own legs taken from under him before he can even come close to connecting.
He would've found the challenge of this fun, but he found the opponent standing across him, between that sudden hulking out, the glowing red eyes, and that strange mist coming out of him which in turn went into causing those previous two physical effects, The Dancing Spider is too creeped out to have fun.
The capoeirista slowly climbs to his feet with wary eyes fixed upon the Apache
Letting yourself become exhausted is not a luxury that a demon hunter gets. Fighting supernatural creatures sure puts a lot of gravel in your guts, and while Aranha had guessed right that all those movements and blows taken by the Apache Brave would wear a person out, its difficult to calculate a person that is more from the 'other' side than this one.
Nightwolf falls on his side after the exchange, but jumps back to his feet just as quickly, wreathed in red fire and his once white dead looking eyes now burning with red smoldering flames.
Enraged as he might appear, Nightwolf doesn't appear to be succumbing to his anger at all, nor to all the swirling evil energy stirring within him. He looks remarkably focused, and silent too, like a wolf trying to figure out which way best to attack prey.
He weaves one way and the other before he slides in to choke the distance between the two and swings a front jab at Aranha's nose to check him while he notices he's staggered.
COMBATSYS: Nightwolf successfully hits Aranha with Low Punch.

Aranha brings up his arm as he leans away attempting to catch the attack either on his shoulder or on his arm with the leaning motion allowing him to take a bit of oomph off of the punch. It just barely slips through his guard and pops him on the nose. To his credit, he manages to spin away seems to keep in constant motion.
A quick brush of his finger across his nose and a slight hiss is the only concession to the inflicted pain he makes before he's in Nightwolf's face. He cartwheels in and drops low to touch the ground with both hands as he performs a spinning back heel kick for the Native American's head.
COMBATSYS: Nightwolf blocks Aranha's Heel Kick.

Aranha 0/-------/=======|>>>>>>>\>>>>>>>\2 Nightwolf
For all his bulk and apparent ferocity, it will be quite clear to Aranha that Nightwolf is more of an out than an in fighter. He likes to go in, but he doesn't stay there for long and quickly dashes back out of arm's length. Like his namesake, he is a wolf, and he to bleed out his opponent and wound them enough until he can see an opportunity to really go for the jugular.
As such, Nightwolf backs out after delivering a jab to Aranha and resets his TKD stance, giving him more than enough space to go for the overhead block and stop the kick coming to his head with his rock solid forearm again. Nightwolf may be no dancer but the rhythm of battle is one he's well used to.
After blocking the high kick, Nightwolf ducks low and summons a glowing energy knife to hand. Holding it in reverse grip, he slashes at his opponent's bicep, aiming to cut the ligament there and make it that much more difficult to make hand stands.
COMBATSYS: Aranha dodges Nightwolf's Blade and Edge.

And Aranha much like his own namesake, likes manuever in close and make it difficult for his prey to get away and then when he has them ensnared, he goes in for the kill. Aranha maintains his dangerous dance.
He watches as the energy knife is summoned and taken into reverse grip and as he goes to slash the bicep, the capoeirista is suddenly not there as he slips around the blade and keeps close as he attempts to drive a knee into his chest and stay inside so he has a more difficult time using those conjured weapons on him

Just because he likes to stay outside doesn't mean that Nightwolf can't do close quarters. The Apache brave sees the dancing spider spinning his web away before coming in for another sting and decides to collide with him again. A spider can't do much when you throw a rock at its web.
Seeing him coming to his side, Nightwolf quickly changes stances in mid fly and switches from his flowy TKD to Vale Tudo. This time its a reckless maneuver instead of prowling around the spider and he clenches his entire body to brace for impact as he charges straight for the incoming spider.
Just as the knee is sailing to his chest, the brave curls in his arm and takes the blow to his bicep. That red energy to swirls around him causing after images to be seen behind him. Smashing into the mid-air Aranha with the impact of a speeding car.
COMBATSYS: Aranha dodges Nightwolf's Thunder Break.

The speeding car comes crashing into the capoeirista but the slippery capoeirista twists to the side letting Nightwolf pass by him and land on the ground as he performs a quick hand spin which takes advantage of what little precious time he has to play to the crowd and get himself pumped up. He doubts Nightwolf will let him get any more time than that to play to the crowd.
The capoeirista takes a deep breath and reaches down with one and flips his body up and over to deliver an acrobatic axe kick down upon the Apache's head and then quickly following up with a front kick.
COMBATSYS: Nightwolf blocks Aranha's Change-Up Kick.

Aranha 1/--=====/=======|>>>>>>>\>>>>>>>\2 Nightwolf
Aaah, the spider lives up to its namesake and skitters away. Nightwolf's speeding charge comes to a sudden stop right before he crashes into the line of screaming underground fighting fanatics, almost like he didn't have any momentum to his attack at all.
Its a move that is quite efficient, as Nightwolf wasn't overextending as one might think he was and quickly spins around to face Aranha again. More spinning kicks, Aranha may be fast but he sure is predictable despite his confusing tactics.
Twin glowing axes appear on the brave's hands and he raises them for the overhead block before bringing his leg up to take the front kick to his shin.
With a huff of air, Nightwolf breaks his stance and takes a big side step away from Aranha so as to not be flanked by the crowd. He's snorting now, looking somewhat amused despite those swirling evil spirits around him and his ever constant burning eyes. "Akecheta!" He exclaims before taking a deep breath himself and drinking deeply once more from the pool of evil all around him. His muscles starting to bulk up again.
COMBATSYS: Nightwolf gathers his will.
[ \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ < > /////////////////// ]
Aranha 1/--=====/=======|>>>>>>>\>>>>>>>\2 Nightwolf
With the Apache backing off, Aranha surprisingly has more time than he expected to play to the crowd if he wanted to but with the unease he's feeling at all that red energy flowing into his opponent including that red mist (unknowingly to him) of his sins coming off of him and flowing into his opponent he's just not comfortable with showboating in this type of situation.
"Ummm... Ooooo... kaaaay."
His eye brow rises once and then he moves in carefully dancing and swaying as he studies his opponent and then he moves in and swings a roundhouse kick right for the Native American's head.
COMBATSYS: Aranha successfully hits Nightwolf with Kick Combo.
[ \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ < > /////////////// ]
Aranha 1/-======/=======|>>>>>>>\>>>>>>>\2 Nightwolf
But then Aranha draws a bit of the force off of the roundhouse so it's not going through his head but instead taps the jaw before that same foot drops low and hooks around the heel of Nightwolf's foot and then he yanks the foot from under him causing him to fall down to the ground.
Hm!! A nice hit. Definitely a warrior, thinks Nightwolf as he's struck on the side of the head. To use this kind of deception takes years of practice, and as he takes the smash on his temple forced to to spin back and away then tripped, he decides that he was right to trust the spirits and seek this place out.
He could learn a few tricks for the battles that are to come.
Nightwolf lands hard on the ground but seems to use the same force of the fall to bounce back. Rolling to be face up, he kicks himself back to his feet and channels more energy into his hands.
Strange that he would summon axes and knifes this far out.
Until it becomes clear that the energy takes the shape of a bow and he fires an energy arrow right for the dancer's gut.
COMBATSYS: Nightwolf successfully hits Aranha with New Earth.

Aranha 1/-======/=======|>>>>>>>\>>>>>>>\2 Nightwolf
The Dancing Spider had something completely different in mind when he had performed that feint but he didn't quite expect him to roll back that much. He didn't expect the bow forming in his hands and he finds all of his plans changing in an instant.
Aranha desperately tries to charge in a zig zag so it doesn't completely hit center of his mass and it would allow him spin when it would hit his body. Unfortunately for the capoeirista, he not only does he get caught, he gets caught dead center. His steps halt for a second. He stumbles and he finally get his balance back and continues move closer and closer and then he leaps at Nightwolf with his palms engulfed in blue chi as he attempts to grab him.
If Aranha should get ahold of him, he'll release a burst of his chi into his shoulders and then shoving him away as he flips up and lands on the ground before taking a step forward.

Aranha 2/<<<<<<</<<<<<<<|>>>>>>-\-------\0 Nightwolf
Once the arrow strikes the target what comes next is natural for Nightwolf.
He goes in for the kill!
Or he would save that Aranha still has it in him to move towards him. The shaman erroneously decides to charge him head on again, summoning twin axes to catch Aranha in mid swing. Except the dancer gets on top of him first and unleashes a devastating wave of chi. "HRRRG!!" With a snarl of anger and pain, Nightwolf swings his axes in the air and misses completely, his weapons vanishing in mid air before he takes a few stumbling steps forward and turns around. The energy that surrounded him is suddenly gone and his muscles are back to their normal size.
Uh oh.
The vanishing aura of energy is a bit of a morale booster for the capoeirista. It feels as though a cloud has been lifted for the capoeirista and he's riding the adrenaline high that landing that attack had delivered. He dares not grin though, it was entirely possible that he could do that creepy aura drawing thing he did before. And that was something that was to be avoided if Aranha had anything to say about that.
Aranha drops low to the ground and crawls much like his namesake eating up that distance between them and then he leaps forwards and slams his foot hard into his chest.
COMBATSYS: Nightwolf interrupts Fierce Kick from Aranha with Thunder Break.

Aranha 2/<<<<<<</<<<<<<<|=======\-------\1 Nightwolf
Not this time.
Although battered and with all his evil energy having been consumed, Nightwolf is more than just a bad juju powered bruiser. He's a deceptively fast learner and seems to understand the nature behind Aranha's attacks. He's proven more than just a worthy opponent, he's been an incredible teacher of the other side of the coin of battle. Demons and evil spirits from Outworld always come in a berserker frenzy with massive swings whilst screaming blood curling cries. But this.. faking out and baiting attacks.. this is useful! And Nightwolf is starting to apply the lessons learned in the battle field.
Rather than back up and defend against the blow as seems to be the right decision to do particularly due to Aranha's unorthodox way of approaching him. Nightwolf goes for the rule of three and guesses Aranha won't expect him to try and clash the attack yet again after so many failed tries.
The gambit works. The Apache charges right into the leaping kick and apparently catches Aranha overextending. He takes the kick on the shoulder and curls his muscled arms around the boy's torso. Lifting him up in mid air to then smash him head first on the ground.
The capoeirista was caught up. The start of it is familiar to any capoeirista. They move in and catch you while your leg is still extended. What happens next only happens in street fighting or rodas where the person playing is determined to send their opponent away with an injury. Where most rodas you would just have your leg swept from under you while your leg was in the air, Aranha is bodily picked up and slammed on his head.
It was unexpected and it wasn't the ideal scenario the capoeirista had played out in his head. It hurt. A lot... But the scarred capoeirista was made of sterner stuff and each one of those scars was a testament to that fact. He stands up slowly. He's wobbly at first but he eventually gets his feet under him and he smiles. It was the smile of someone who knew a secret that no one else in the room knew.
And then the capoeirista moves forward swinging a roundhouse kick. There's no drawing back force this time. He's swinging completely for the fences with it before bringing that foot around and hooking it behind his neck and pulling him face first towards the ground.

Man, if he knew street fights were so taxing, Nightwolf would have indulge in these sports a long time ago. Just goes to show what you can miss by simply judging things by their looks. Had it not been by that shift in the wind earlier, Nightwolf might have never sought out a place like this, and would have missed the opportunity to fight an opponent as skilled as the Dancing Spider.
The brave ends up having to reach deep within him to withstand this attack. Though his insides are burning, he is quite literally ignoring the plights of his body as he sucks in even more energy around him, of which there is plenty around at least. He ducks low when the roundhouse comes and catches it on his shoulder to the wrap an arm around the boy's leg, leaving him standing up on one foot. Here one might think that he's just going to lift him up and throw him again, but instead Nightwolf makes use of his summoned weapons again. He charges up a brightly glowing energy knife and goes for the stab right behind Aranha's thigh.

Nightwolf swings the knife and feels it hit nothing but air again. Blast it.
He is truly blind this time, it is only his intense warrior training that actually pulls him out of unconsciousness, as if forcefully prying him from the abyss, and makes him look at the incoming we projectile shot at him. The Apache braces himself and holds his ground catching the chi blast on his bare chest. It makes him stagger and it looks like he's about to fall on his knees he manages to right himself up.
"GRAAAH!!" Another roar comes in an attempt to pull more energy to keep fighting and yet, he stops mid way, shaking his head. A sudden realization dawning to him.
This isn't why the spirits brought him here. This isn't a fight against a demon. Not a fight to the death. Just as he learned new tricks and ploys to be used in battle so must he learn to differentiate between a true bout and this.. sport.
Lest he succumbs to the rage that threatens to consume him every time he uses his powers.
Nightwolf gives a long exhalation and nods. "You fight very well." He says.
"I yield."
Even if Aranha were to be fighting for higher stakes like life or death there would be little variation in how Aranha would've approached it short of a bit less showboating. Observe, take what his opponent gives him, and give them enough rope to hang themselves.
Aranha draws his hand back, the remaining chi collected in his hand dispersing into the air. His lungs burning as he watches the Apache warrior stagger from fatigue. He hears the roar as he seems as though he's about to do that creepy energy gathering thing again. But then he doesn't? Probably for the best because it may have forced his hand.
But then the Native American yields and Aranha steps back and nods.
"That was crazy."
Aranha keeps his distance though and doesn't reach out to shake his hand. Nightwolf seriously gives the capoeirista the major creeps.
