Background

(last updated: 12/28/17)

For those of you who have tired of mastering the art of cramming a ton of text into your OOCFinger, there is now the 'background' command.

The command is 'background < player > ' or ' < bg player > ' for short.

You can set your background via one of two ways.

Either set a property (supports %r for newlines)

     &background me=<text>

     @set me=background:<text>

Or use the lseditor:

     lsedit me=background

Note that the lsedited background will take priority in case you intentionally try to break my flawless program by setting both.

As far as to what you can put in your background? Pretty much anything you want. Be it extended bio information about your character, or maybe a more detailed character profile than your 'finger' profile contains, or perhaps random quotes from or about your character, or even, yes, those CSYS lines everyone loves stuffing in their OOCFinger. There's really no limit to what you can put in your background text. Enjoy this sense of unrestricted freedom.

Note that if a character has a background set, a note will show up at the bottom of their OOCfinger indicating as much.

If you want to see a listing of all characters with a background set, simply enter:

     bg/list
