Gorin High School is a private school in Southtown. It was founded with the aim to produce the best athletes, capable of competing at the national level. The school's motto is "Develop healthy minds, strong bodies, and Olympic athletes."
Gorin offers a six-year education program from junior high school to high school. The junior high has 900 students enrolled and 1,800 students are enrolled in the high school division. The school places sports as its top priority, wherein athletic ability and aptitude determine if an individual is worthy enough to attend Gorin. This makes the academic entrance exam results almost irrelevant. Many of the students are talented, national-level athletes found by skilled scouts that are scattered all over the country and beyond.
As athletes, Gorin students tend to be highly competitive. While this is reflected in peer relations within the school, it is also exemplified by the student body's rivalry with Gedo High. Students from Gorin High have a serious rivalry with Gedo, largely over past offenses and perceived offenses, ranging from vandalism to picking fights and even kidnapping, but also as a matter of matching physicality and school pride against each other.
As with everything else about the school, Gorin's uniform is focused on supporting the school's athletics. Gorin's winter uniform consists of a traditional grey student outfit with a shield patterned after an Olympic medal, while their summer uniform consists of a polo shirt and skirt or loose slacks that are often eschewed in favour of gym clothes anyway. Students nearly always wear their choice of running shoe with either uniform, allowing them to take advantage of any opportunity presented to work on their cardio and keep their feet comfortable.
