Description: Set in Metro City's Cabaret Candide, the first round of semi-finals pit Todoh-Ryuu Against Todoh-Ryuu. Daniel Jack, ace detective and senior student of Todoh, faces off against Benkei Bunya, brilliant junior student of Todoh. Commentary by Johnny Gomez and Nick Diamond, with special guest referee Mills Lane (Winner: Daniel)

Standing on the stage amongst the roaring, cheering resteraunt goers of the Cabaret Candide within Metro City, the place was packed. For what is completely unusual for the family entertainment was an actual fight! Ignore the rumors of the shady streetfighting matches. This was an official, endorsed by Masters Corporation.
And in line with the two fighters, it was Todoh-Ryuu Night!
Children are dressed up in red paper breastplates, just like Ryuhaku. Others are waving flags. Rumor has it that even the Todoh family is attending themselves, though likely far away, where Ryuhaku's eccentric nature will not disturb the other customers. Waving Todoh-Ryuu Flags and wearing the T-Shirts of both Benkei, Daniel, and the Todoh Superstars, Daniel basically turned the last bit of the Todoh-Ryuu money into promotional. And judging by the crowd, the cheers, and all the paraphernalia, one thing was very, very certain.
Tonight, Todoh-Ryuu was the most popular martial art in the entire city.
Daniel Jack stands on the stage, dressed in his Todoh-Ryuu white gi. A black belt around his waist, it was clear that Daniel Jack as achieved the peak within the Todoh-Ryuu Dojo. Far from a master? Of course. But for Todoh-Ryuu, he was the greatest. A red breastplate across his chest, he crosses his arms. His brow furrowed, as the cameras zoom in him. Two announcers, sitting on the sidelines, begins to belt out. "Welcome to the Celebrit- Neo Development Project Semi-Finals! I'm Johnny Gomez!" The second announcer pipes up. "And I'm Nick Diamond! We are here in the Cabaret Candide, where we are ready for Todoh Two-Fer between Daniel Jack and Benkei Bunya!" Johnny turns tow Nick, nodding. "It's a showdown between Master and Student, Sensei and Senpai! Daniel Jack, senior student of Todoh-Ryuu, and renowned world detective, is facing off against the younger, but still brilliant Benkei! What do you say, Nick?" Nick grins, shaking his head.
"I say that it looks like it is going to be a fight to remember!"
Benkei stands across from Daniel, wearing his Todoh-ryuu gi, white except for the red belt and the red logo on the back. He's wearing his glasses and staring out over the crowd with a slack jaw, amazed at what Daniel has done. He turns to Daniel with an impish little smile, saying just loud enough to be heard by Daniel, "You really went all out, sensei." He drops down into a Todohryuu defensive position, a golden aura of chi fading into existance around Benkei.

Daniel Jack looks across the stage. Eyes shining. Form unyielding. Gaze unbroken. He had gone all out. But this was a cause of celebration. Even if neither of them won, they had succeeding in making Todoh-Ryuu a national, no, an international name. Benkei had a good run, as did Daniel. They had a great deal of face time. Todoh Dojo would be FILLED with new students. Daniel Jack nods firmly at Benkei, bowing once. "I did go out, Benkei. This is the greatest moment of our fighting careers so far. Do not hold back, Benkei, for there is no reason to. Because no matter what, no matter who wins, one thing is certain forever."
"... That Todoh-Ryuu got two semi-finalists, where Kyokugen only got one."
Daniel Jack drops into his own defensive stance of Todoh, a horse-straddle stance, built for a strong center of balance. The audience seems to be cheering, fueling the detective. A bald, grizzled man walks up on the stage, standing between the two fighters. "I don't know what this Todoh or Kyokugen crap is, but I just want a good clean fight! Let's get it on!"
And the bell rings.
Advancing on the younger fighter, Daniel Jack leads with a palm strike with the left, before charging in with a hand chop with the right. To that, Nick Diamond looks across at Johnny. "Now, Johnny, what is Daniel Jack leading with?" he asks. His partner explains. "Well Nick, that's the Zoot Suit Riot, Daniel Jack's signature technique! Drawn from by Kasumi Todoh's own Senkou Nagashi, it reflects the graceful combination strikes of Todoh-Ryuu Kobojutsu!" Nick Diamond looks awestruck as Daniel Jack suddenly lifts up with an upper-cutting palm strike, before finishing with a sharp jab with his elbow.
Somewhere, Master Todoh has only the manliest of tears.

Benkei's hands open and close as he watches Daniel approach him, his breathing low and slow, before he springs into action. He blocks the first two blocks with his forearms, ducking back from the uppercut, and finally matching elbow for elbow. He's quick to take the offensive from this position, lashing out with his fist, that shoots forward at Daniel's solar plexus. "Hi-YAH!" comes Benkei's cry, his technique smooth and skilled. He's really starting to come into his own as a fighter.

"Wow!"
Nick Diamond exclaims as Benkei meets the four strikes with stunning agility. "Daniel Jack might have the technical skill, but Benkei is darn quick! As Daniel Jack tries to catch the incoming blow, that same blistering speed comes roaring in. Johnny winces. "Oof! And a blow right to the solar plexus! You might be right Nick; Benkei might be less experienced than Daniel Jack, but he has a lot of natural potential that Daniel Jack just doesn't have.
Daniel Jack finds his center again, eyes terse. His chest burned, but every clean hit from Benkei only made him more overjoyed. "Excellent hit, Beneki!" He exclaims to his fellow Todoh-Ryuuist. "But lets see how you move with this!" The detective steps in, an arm out. Ready to snag the young kid.
But the announcers again pick up as the cheers roar.
"What is Daniel Jack doing now, Nick?" Johnny asks his shorter companion. "Well Johnny, I'm not exactly an expert on Todoh-Ryuu, but it looks like Daniel Jack is trying to keep the more nimble fighter in place. Benkei's agility is his biggest asset, and looks like the detective is playing it smart." Daniel Jack tries to seize Benkei's right wrist. If successful, there will be no flip, no throw. He will simply step in, grab Benkei by right above the elbow with the other hand, and wrench. A crippling, fast blow, trying to disable his right arm.
But all with a confidence building smile.

Benkei gets grabbed at the wrist, then drops to a knee as his arm is wrenched in the wrong direction. He grits his teeth as he looks up at Daniel, his hand darting out as he attempts to wrap his left arm around Daniel's leg, then lift Danil off his feet and throw him over his back. "Hoooo-YAH!" Benkei shouts, feeling his right arm burn. It'll take a couple seconds to recover from that.

"Hotchee Motchee, Johnny!
"Daniel has Benkei by the arm, and look at that twist! That kind of move can take an arm right out of its socket!" Nick shakes his head, while Johnny places a palm on his partner's own hand. "But look, Nick! Benkei is taking the attack, and turning it on his own sensei! He was planning this all along!" Nick leans back, shocked. "Wow, your right Johnny!"
"It really looks like Benkei has his sensei by the nose!"
Daniel Jack lands flat on his back, a smile spreading across his face. "Perfect counter, Benkei! Impressive!" Rising back up, Daniel Jack raises his arms high. "You know what's coming, Benkei!" He belts out, as orange chi surges forth.
"I hope we can see some of yours!"
Johnny Gomez hammers a palm on the table. "That's the signature Todoh-Ryuu technique, Nick! The world famous Kasane Ate!" The entire audience mirrors the motion, children and all, as they shout out with tandem with Daniel Jack. As he sweeps his arms down, a flawless execution is unleashed, and the wave of energy launches across the stage.
"KASANE ATE!"

Benkei turns around, favoring his left side, after dumping Daniel over his back. He smiles brightly at Daniel, his right arm still stinging. He springs to the side with a one handed (his left) cartwheel, narrowly avoiding the Kasane Ate. "That was good, Master Daniel! Let's see how you like MINE!" He drags both hands to the ground, an explosion of chi shooting up from the ground as it ripples at Daniel. "KASANE ATE!"

"And Benkei is clear!"
The wave of energy surges past Benkei, the detective's smile met by another. Nick Diamond grabs his head. "Wow! Not only did he just dodge Daniel's Kasane Ate, the kid just turned around and threw a Kasane Ate right back in his face!" Daniel Jack is sent stumbling back, the blast knocking him flat on his behind. The cheers of the crowd only infuses him even more. "I like it, Benkei! I like it a ton! Don't slow down!" And then, the detective rises back up.
"What's Daniel Doing?"
As the detective rushes in, his left hand burns with energy. "Look at what he is doing, Johnny!" Nick erupts, pointing a hand at the detective. "Is he attempting another Kasane Ate?" Johnny nods grimly. "Sometimes, Todoh-Ryuu fighters at the higher level rely only on Kasane Ate. An interesting strategy, to be sure. I am not sure if it will work!" Daniel Jack closes back in on Benkei, slashing down for a smaller, shorter arc of energy.
"KASANE ATE!"

Benkei grins toothily at Daniel as the Kasane Ate knocks him down. No time to get distracted now, however! As the second Kasane Ate comes flying in, Benkei sprints forward, heading right at it! As his bare feet swiftly cross the arena, he leaps into the air, barely clearing it as his leg wails around for a jump kick at Daniel's face.

The second Kasane Ate misses Benkei, as the announcers continue their commentary. Johnny shakes his heads. "Kasane Ate may be a crowdpleaser, but Daniel Jack isn't going to get anywhere in this fight if he doesn't get dynamic like Benkei!" Nick Diamond nods in agreement. "Benkei has been running circles around his sensei! Here he comes in with a flying kick! Daniel Jack is going to need a miracle if he is going to-"
"What was that?!"
The crowd goes wild as Daniel Jack suddenly snatches Benkei right out from the air. Gripping the leg and the boy's thigh, the detective pivots, his entire form carrying the momentum with him. Before the announcers know what's happening, Daniel Jack spikes Benkei down HARD, a wave of energy suddenly exploding up and carrying him away from the detective Daniel Jack roars the name of a part of the technique, though the whole attack is known much more sinisterly.
"KASANE ATE!"
One moment, Benkei is riding high, flying in at Daniel with a jump kick. The next, he's slammed down into the ground ahead of a wave of chi, smashing down and bouncing up as he comes to a halt. He pushes up, badly hurt and wheezing, narrowing his eyes at Daniel, his glasses long gone. "Good one, sensei. You're still the boss!" He then pulls his hand backwards, intoning, "Nimrod...." He then thrusts forward with his ultimate technique, fist aimed at Daniel's chest. "HAMMAH!"

"Holy Moly!"
Nick Diamond is flailing about now. "Did you see that Johnny! The Jumping Jack Flash, Daniel's most dangerous counter attack!" Johnny nods with his partner. "And one of his signature ones. Benkei should have known it was coming when he started with those airborne moves! Daniel Jack may not have a strong aerial game, but he can really punish those skyward attacks!"
"But what's Benkei up to?"
As Benkei rushes in with his own fist-borne punch, it is too fast for the detective. There is an audible crack across the entire audience as Daniel Jack is sent flying facedown to the end of the stage, nearly a ring out. Hanging an arm over the edge of the stage, he seems stunned. Groggily, he begins to rise up, struggling to pull himself up. He seems to be clutching something, however, from a table right off of the stage. It's appearance, however, is loudly exclaimed by the two commentators.
"A T-Shirt Cannon?!"
Daniel Jack aims the cannon at the audience, firing a Todoh-Ryuu T-Shirt to a lucky kid in the front row. Aiming to the back, he fires off another T-Shirt to an obese woman in the back. Turning it around, he aims it straight at Benkei. "It looks like Daniel Jack is planning to use a T-Shirt Cannon against Benkei, Nick!" Johnny exclaims. Nick Diamond turns over, shrugging his shoulders. "But isn't that illegal?" "It might very well be, Nick! We have our very own Mills Lane to make a judgement call!" The bald referee holds his hands up, stopping the fight briefly as he inspects the cannon. Daniel Jack looks at him, showing the cannon. Mills Lane mulls. Mullllllls. Before announcing his decision.
"I'll Allow It!"
Daniel Jack grins, before taking aim. "Sorry about this, Benkei, but as Master Todoh taught us, something it is worth it to do anything to win!" The detective pauses a moment, before shaking his head. "No, scuzzy. I can't do it. Not like this." Looking at the side of the cannon, he peers. Hitting a switch, he shifts it to automatic fire. Turning it back towards Benkei, he squeezes the trigger.
And he lets it rip.

Benkei blinks as he sees the t-shirt cannon brandished, stumbling backwards a step. "Hey hey, wait, Daniel, Danny, this is insane, this -" he stutters, before the first shirt hits him. Then another, then another. He stumbles left and right in the cannonade of t-shirts, bouncing around as he gets closer to Daniel like a pinball. Finally, as he gets close enough, he shouts, "FANTASTIC TODOH CHOP!" attempting to get in close with a Todoh Chop, before collapsing to his knees.

And lo, there were T-Shirts.
As the T-Shirt flurry is unleashed. Benkei is slowed down, more and more. By the time the cannon clicks empty, the detective turns the cannon before him, trying to catch the epic handchop of Todoh-Ryuu. As it cleaves through the cannon itself, it cuts to the chest, hitting Daniel HARD in the solar plexus, despite the poor cannon taking most of the impact. Stumbling back, Daniel Jack falls to a knee...
Before rising up once again.
"Whoa! Daniel Jack turns it around in a stunning T-Shirt finish! As the audience fills with the Todoh-Ryuu T-Shirts, Mills Lanes gets in the ring." The referee comes in, inspecting Benkei, before turning to Daniel Jack. Raising his arm in the air, he makes his judgement. "Looks like Benkei isn't getting up. Winner is...."
"Daniel Jack!"
The roars of the audience fill the entire restaurant as Todoh-Ryuu has its biggest victory so far. The cameras focus on the announcers, who hold their hands before them. Johnny speaks first. "It looks like it was an exciting fight, with plenty of thrills, chills, and spills." Nick Diamond pipes up as well. "And Kasane Ates! You know, Johnny, what does Kasane Ate actually mean?" Johnny shrugs his shoulders. "I don't know Nick, but if I had a guess after this night? I bet it would mean 'Victory." I'm Johnny Gomez." "And I'm Nick Diamond!"
"Good Fight! And Good Night!"
