Well, thus far the NDP has been rather good to Karin, in that her first opponent was someone she managed to win again. It was certainly a tough match in anycase. This time around she has to face one 'Zach Glen'. In HOWARD ARENA. Well, it's certainly a good venue. Today she doesn't drop in via helicopter, but instead just walks onto the stage like a normal person, her eyes peering around over the crowd, and allowing herself a bit of a smirk.
She sighs and reaches out a hand to her butler, Ishizaki, who is standing off the stage with a pair of fighting gloves ready for Karin to put on. The gloves are handed over to the Oujo-sama, who takes her time to put them on. "No need to rush. I'll have this win, that's a certainty."
Zach Glen remembers Karin Kanzuki from that fundraiser in Sunshine City. He didn't much like her then, either. "You know," Zach says almost philosophically, "You might be getting ahead of yourself." Zach throws a couple of jabs at the air. "After all, the last time we did this, I recall hearing about a tie."
Zach climbs the steps into the ring, and throws a pair of slow right hooks, arcing oddly high for such a punch. He waves to the crowd for a moment before bouncing on the balls of his feet and settling into a boxing stance. He waits for the bell.

Karin cringes at the reminder that the last fight she met Zach in was a tie, and hmphs a little as she glances to the guy and replies in a cocky tone, "I seem to recall that you were not my only opponent at the time. It doesn't count as an actual one on one fight."
Karin grins and shifts into her Kanzuki-ryu stance and continues, "If you want to prove that you're the better fighter, you're going to have to do it an actual fight, instead of that petty brawl. You'll find that I've improved considerably since then."
"Heh," Zach grunts, "You ain't the only one, lady." The bell rings, and Zach is the first one off the blocks, dashing in quickly in a low crouch. Once he has his distance, he plants his feet and throws out a flickering jab with his left hand. Golden energy wraps around the fist in what appears to be the form of a boxing glove.
Zach is grinning; the Coach's restriction on the use of his Soul Power are lifted during a fight, and it feels good to stretch his psychic "legs", as it were. The jab is clearly not meant as the start of a combination; Zach is already leaping clear of the younger woman even before he brings his hand back.

Karin moves her hands up to block, only to get punched square on the side of the face, the impact and suddenness of it causing her to stagger back a few steps, before she shakes her head and glares at Zach, telling him, "A lucky strike." If only she could be that confident, but she refuses to let an opponent think that her spirit is that shaky.
Karin cries out as she dashes in to close the distance, throwing a series of jabs in order to gauge his actual reach, before feinting a punch in order to try to drive a knee at his side.

Zach weaves around the jabs, but not noticing the knee until it is too late. He exhales loudly as he feels his ribcage give a little under the force of the strike. The psion hurls himself to the side, moving some distance away from Karin before throwing out a trio of quick jabs with his left. None of them are even remotely close to tagging Karin; he is simply too far away from her. However, there are now three arcing lines of that sunlight energy whipping towards Karin at high speeds. All of them are aimed at vital locations on Karin's body... namely the solar plexus, liver and throat!

Karin was getting sick and tired of fighting all these chi and psi fighters ruining her game! She was going to be the best without those tricks, and she didn't care how much damage she had to soak up in order to get there. So when she sees the projectiles, she growls and dashes for Zach once more, almost recklessly in order to get in close at Zach, even if she gets hit. Which she does.
And each hit stops her more than allows her to keep going, and she ends up knocked over by the last blast. She sucks in a breath, having lose a bit of wind from that last strike, before hopping back up to her feet and narrowing her eyes at Zach. She's glaring angrily now.

Zach grins faintly as Karin stops her proverbial roll, skipping back several feet. Whether his next move involves dashing in ofr throwing another blast, he wants some room to work with. He keeps his stance, tight and controlled as he takes up a long weave, rocking ack and forth on his legs as he watches.
Watching, however, is not the only thing that he does. While he waits for Karin's next move, Zach draws upon the wellspring of his soul, bringing more of his psychic energies to the ready.

Karin just keeps glaring at her opponent, as though hoping that her mere glare would just explode Zach's head. But then she dashes! Charging at Zach and throwing a series of jabs in order to send his balance off, before roaring and driving a palm at his chest, then a second palm right afterwards, before finishing her little combo with a rising high kick for his head. "Guren ken - Myujin Kyaku!"

Zach calmly parries the first palm with his left arm, the second with his right before swayying away from the kick. One thing Zach does NOT do, however, is back up. He simply grins a bit more as he sways back in. He plants his feet firmly as he brings his left arm back low.
Golden energy spins around the fist again as Zach steps in and fires a low, arcing punch directed once more at Karin's liver. He's trying to wind her a bit while not aiming too much for the face. This may not be a mercy thing, but marring the gorl's features may by signing a death warrant!

Is there something wrong with Karin's luck that she cannot so much keep a hit from passing her guard? She tries to counter the hard punch with the motions of Yasha Gaeshi, only to once again miss because she has the worst luck in the world today, then fist strikes her liver area, causing her to staggers back several feet, and doubles over, gritting her teeth.

Zach decides, as Karin seems to lose her bearings, to bring this fight to a close, if he can. He takes two quick steps in as he brings his right fist in close to his chest. Yellow energy swirls around his fist even as he twists the limb a little further.
One of the lessons he had picked up at the gym was that of the corkscrew punch, that by adding a bit more rotation to your wrist one can increase the amount of damage done with a punch. The punch one would most typically apply this technique to is the right straight.It is also rumored that should such a punch strike driectly at someone's heart, that the organ will stop for a moment. Zach has been experimenting with adding still /more/ rotation to the punch, not with his fist, but with psycho-kinetic force. The soul power almost takes on the form of a drill, covering the length of Zach's forearm as he drives the punch towards Karin's upper chest. He has even given this punch a name:

Karin grits her teeth and sucks in a breath before looking up and spying her opponent winding up a shot. With little time to lose, she raises her arms and forces the boxer to smash his fist into her arms, and the augmented punch sends her skidding backwards from the force of the hit.
Karin takes a breath slowly as she lowers her very sore arms, eyes burning with the desire to win this fight, "You think you can just defeat Karin Kanzuki in one strike? You have another thing coming!" She cries out and dashes in, grabbing for Zach and trying to smash her knee into his gut repeatedly, before using the laws of Awesomeness to screw over physics by throwing Zach into the air, and then leaping after him, in order to catch his arm and spin with him three times over in a circle before smashing him into the ground with a hard armbar takedown.
That's the plan.

Zach lets out a grunt as he is thrown airborne. He can already feel the ribs bruising up nicely from the knee strikes while Karin brings him to the stone flooring with thunderous impact. Zach lays there for a moment gasping from pain before sitting up slowly.
"Seemed like a good idea at the time," Zach opines as he gets the rest of the way to his feet. Yellow energy floods around his battered body almost protectively as Zach considers his next move. The Heartbreak Shot, while not exactly his trump card, definitely represented one of the later stops to be pulled in a given fight. He was going to need a moment to get himself back to even keelage.
Karin may not give him that time. Zach presses in once more, lashing out with a short right uppercut aimed directly at Karin's chin. He's pretty sure that she's going to do her level best to kill him regardless of what he tries anyway...

The burning desire in Karin's eyes are telling Zach that she's not going to go down until she's taken every last conscious breath she has for this fight. So when he comes at her for that attempt at a finisher, Karin gracefully shifts her stance, taking a few graceful steps in order to sidestep, catch the fist coming at her between her hands, sweep her leg, and send the guy flying off his feet with whatever the hell the Yasha Gaeshi actually is. It's sorta Aikido-ish, ain't it?
She then spins and waits for Zach again, saying, "Did that seem like a good idea too?"
/This/ fall was not nearly so bad as the last one. He's still hurting, but opts not to let the pain show. The psychic performs a snappy kippup, facing Karin with that grin still on his face. "Eh," Zach says with a slight shrug.
Zach, instead of pressing in, leaps back several paces, throwing a short, downward right hook. Viewers might recognize the motion from his previous match.
It might throw Karin off, however, given that the last time he tried this move, the starting motion was much more... dramatic.
Three beams of what could be described as sunlight form over Karin's head to slam down with thunderous impact, not really stopping for much of anything... including the arena floor!

Karin's trying that thing where when she moves out of the way, all the fireballs fly past her. It doesn't work as well as she'd like. At all. She dashes in order to get out of the path of the fireballs, but due to the more subtleness of it, and she gets smashed into by the fireball blasts. More of them energy projectiles. Yay.
Karin grits her teeth as she stumbles from the last hit, and then turns to face Zach again, glaring with the burning desire once more, before roaring and dashing in to begin to drive in about a dozen palm strikes and elbows, before finishing with an extra hard strike at the end, "Shinpikaibyaku!!"

Where Karin is furious with the way this match is going, Zach remains surprisingly calm. Sure, the heiress is angry, but this does not have the feel of a life-or-death struggle. Thank God. Zach's plan is fairly simple, really: slip the strikes, and slam a springing uppercut to Karin's head. This would not only ring her bell, but likely bring the match to a close.
Like all simple plans, however, there is one fatal flaw: Karin's flurry is too fast for Zach's body to properly react to at this point in the match. He takes a beating for his efforts, the final strike smashing into Zach's jaw with ringing impact.
The psion stares blankly at Karin for a moment, those emerald eyes of his focusing on absolutely nothing as Zach slumps to the ground. Zach does not get back up from this, as the referee counts him out.
Karin breathes heavily as she watches the guy stand for the moment and then fall. Still full of adrenaline, it takes her about a minute once she's straightened up, and sucks in a long deep breath, before calming down and looks down to her opponent, as she begins to pull her gloves off. She then casually echos her starting statement, "I said at the beginning that I would have this victory. Now I do. Thank you for the the match." With that, she tosses her gloves at Ishizaki and makes her way off the stage, satisfied that she's won.
