In days gone by, fairy tales didn't always have a great wisdom to teach, or a clear heroine, or a happily ever after. Many tales were simply that - and some are more grim than history remembers. The legend of the Rose of Blackthorne Castle was chalked up to Northumbrian superstition, the castle now a tourist trap for the supernaturally inclined, until one day, the sleeping Rose awakened. Now forever tainted by the deadly flora in the garden where she slept, the woman has emerged to return to the ways of a dark and cruel past that would have been best left forgotten...
