Match of the Millennium

Shingo Yabuki is one of the nicest and friendliest guys you'll ever meet. He's almost always in a good mood, and can get along with just about anyone. Due to his bright and amiable personality, he's the last person you would think to be a student of the infamous slacker and malcontent Kyo Kusanagi. Even so, Shingo is indeed Kyo's self-proclaimed student, and fights with a self-taught version of the Kusanagi style. However, with Kyo unwilling to train him, Shingo has to learn solely by watching his hero. He compensates for the lack of the Kusanagi bloodline's flames by adding extra momentum to his strikes -- a sign of the young fighter's honest dedication. Shingo is surprisingly talented despite having only recently entered competitive fighting and handicapping himself by using a style reliant on the flames he can never wield. Despite gaining a sizable number of fans for his fighting debut in the World Warrior tournament, he remains humble and polite, unlike his so-called "sensei." Popular among both his classmates and some of his fellow fighters, he's been known to break out into songs of his own writing occasionally, but can only get a few lines into them before he gets stuck.
