The former leader of Bullet's mercenary group, the man who would become Iron Tager was engaging in an operation highly dangerous to Sector Seven's interests. Falling afoul of Azrael, he and his unit were annihilated. The lone survivor, Kokonoe recovered and rebuilt him, as her intention had never been the unit's murder, only preventing their success. Infusing him with cybernetics and proclaimed 'demon cells', he recovered fully although with no evidence of his former appearance and a significant loss in memories. Holding no grudge against Kokonoe, he has operated as her leader in military forces and field agent, legendary across the world as the Red Devil. His savage reputation belies a calm, calculating mindset, spending his limited free time reading mystery novels and building ships in bottles. Well-liked and an incredible leader, he does not attempt to conceal Kokonoe's massive list of personal failings, but claims she has a kind heart and good ambitions. His trust in her is absolute, even with her often unwanted augmentations, experimentations, and occasionally selfish demands...

Leo Whitefang encounters one of the arch-enemies of the NOL trespassing at the Sacred Order headquarters in the dark of the night; the one and only Iron Tager of Sector Seven. The grim and no-nonsense agent of the mysterious organization is after the secrets of the NOL, and thanks to the current arrangement of the NOL and the SO, he has decided erroneously that the Sacred Order is the weakest link. Of course, the Sacred Order is after that particular secret as well.
