An enigmatic, anachronistic master of deadly twin styles of kung-fu, the man known only as Gen is actually one of the Chinese underworld's most feared figures, pulling the strings from the shadows for decades. With the help of his longtime friend and ally Lee Pai Long, Gen has long since carved out a powerful niche at the apex of a wide pyramidlike network of Triads and business contacts - both legitimate and very, very not. Few know for sure who - or where - the infamous killer(s?) behind Lee's reign are, however. Gen's public face is that of an aging kung-fu instructor and chef, with a wide range of specialties both in terms of culinary ability and techniques he has mastered. Evidence of this comes in his diverse pupils - many, including Chun-Li, Yun, and Yang, train or have trained under 'Grandpa Gen'. Seldom taught are the true, darker arts that the elder assassin has mastered: techniques rumored to rupture internal organs with a jab of two fingers, or completely obliterate a body's chi flow in a brutal series of pressure point strikes.
