Born into a tribe of primitive humans living on the Expanse, an unexplored region of land between the dimensions of the human and demon world, Ayala was thrust into a world where only the strong survive. Luckily, she took to it naturally. After her father died defending her tribe when she was still in adolesence, Ayala distinguished herself from the rest of her tribe with frightening strength and agility, later overthrowing the tribe's then-leader and his mate, becoming its chief. She and her tribe warred against the strange monsters that populated the Expanse, some animal, part demon, others humanoid--like the beastmen that were even more advanced than her people. Eventually it became clear that her strength was not enough when her tribe was attacked by a towering dragon-like monster, which drove her to journey across the Expanse, eventually finding her way to a portal that took her to South America, into a new world even stranger to her still. She seeks a trainer who can help increase her abilities and help her save her people.
