Infamous across Metro City's underworld, Stray is the computer/technology expert and second-in-command for the once powerful and now scattered and broken crime syndicate known as Mad Gear. At a young age, this technophile criminal first rose to prominence amongst the ranks within the illegal underground street fighting with his unique feline fighting style. When a power void was left in the wake of Mad Gear's retreat from Metro City, Stray was recruited by Black along with many others to form the new syndicate known as the Skull Cross Gang. Being the swiftest, smartest and most ambitious of the recruits, Stray was made Black's second-in-command. Ultimately the reign of Skull Cross was short lived due to Mike Haggar and his allies, and Black's death left the catty, inexperienced Stray in charge of the gang. However, not long after, Katana approached Stray with the offer to merge Skull Cross into Mad Gear which was gladly accepted. With Stray's brains and manipulation and Katana's strength and charisma, they now have the challenge before them to build a new, stronger, better Mad Gear than before.
