Match of the Millennium

A mid-level functionary in the Novus Orbis Librarium, a sister organization to the Sacred Order of Holy Knights, Noel Vermillion is a studious and friendly but somewhat haphazard young woman. An orphan, she was discovered alone and afraid as a teen in a ruined village by British noble Edgar Vermillion, who adopted her as his own. Growing up in a household with ties to the Knights Templar, when she came of age, Noel applied to enter service in the Librarium. Her superiors evaluated her mundane abilities as merely average, but her innate talent for synchronizing with chi-powered technology earned her not only acceptance, but a surprisingly swift promotion to Lieutenant. Ostensibly, she serves under Major Jin Kisaragi; however, Jin's apparent disdain for Noel means she is often considered on "detached duty" for whatever tasks the Librarium feels she's suited for. Although she fights with the mysterious and powerful pair of chi-technology handguns, the 'Arcus Diabolus: Bolverk,' combat in general seems very at odds with Noel's compassionate and caring -- if awkward and dorky -- everyday personality.
