Maki is one of the two daughters of the current Genryuusai master of Bushin-ryuu Ninja Arts, and definitely an oddity of circumstance. Although she was trained in martial arts from an early age, Maki used to be a devout pacifist who would only fight if she absolutely had to. When her sister Rena was kidnapped by the Mad Gear Gang, she teamed up with Carlos and Haggar to set things right, and this had a noticeable change on her stance regarding combat. As of late, Maki has taken on a bit of a "tough girl" demeanor, and now credits her ability to fight well as being a major asset rather than a burden. Despite this "toughening up", Maki still has a soft side to her, and an incredibly warm smile whenever she's in a good mood. She fights using a combination of the family's ninja skills (which are noticeably similar to Guy's) and tonfa weapon techniques. Due to the Mad Gear's activities, Maki has a strong will to oppose wrongdoing wherever it springs up, as she has no desire to see anyone else go through the stress and troubles her family did.
