Match of the Millennium

Description: In the middle of a busy thoroughway in India, the mysterious Edenlith goes up against the Metro City kunoichi Maki as part of their battle in the Dead or Alive tournament. Who will come out on top? (WINNER: Edenlith)

India, Kolkata. Noon, traffic all over the place, moving around at times, stopped at others. Classic. Drones with cameras hovering around to get close to the actions, because no human cameramen want to be in the street propers. The fighters can do it, but the crew can't. There is an announcer somewhere. He can be heard loudly over the sounds of cars, through an array of speakers. Are the distractions to the drivers a good idea? That remains to be seen.

"Welcome to another DoA tournament FIGHT! Coming in first. The Pacific Highschool girl with a cold heart. EDENLITH!!!!!!"

And just like that on one side of the six lane's street is Edenlith. She doesn't have her cat in her arms today, but he can soon be seen, walking toward her from a building. Storm simply can't match the speed of his mistress. She looks around, taking in the scenery before her. Thinking how fun it looks to fight in the middle of traffic.

Meanwhile the announcer talks again.

"Our second fighter, a woman you can count on when you're on the receiving end of wrongdoing. A tough girl! MAKI!!!!!"

Edenlith looks around, curious to see this fighter she was going to face.

[MAKI]
In the Dead or Alive tournament, it seems that just about anything and everything goes. Meaning you never know what to expect with whoever your opponent is. Or for that matter, where you'll be fighting.

In this case, the fight is happening in the middle of a street in India with six lanes of traffic in the middle of the day. And even though there's a fight going on, the traffic isn't letting up for anyone or anything. Meaning that the fighters will have to be extra cautious to avoid being turned into roadkill. Then again, there is something about the Dead or Alive tournament having something along the lines of danger zones, isn't there? Maybe that's the case here?

Who knows?

What is known is that there's two fighters today, one being known as Edenlith. And the other?

The red-clad kunoichi known as the heroine of Metro City, Maki Genryuusai herself. Unlike Edenlith who most likely just walked into the area, Maki somersaults into the area and lands in a crouched position before standing up and twirling her tonfa a few times. Upon spotting the schoolgirl, she narrows her eyes a little, but doesn't discount her at all, since she knows anyone is capable of being a good fighter.

Or it could be because someone drove too close to her just now and muttered a comment about her rear, which requires a bit of discipline to avoid giving an obscene gesture.

When Edenlith sees her opponent what she sees red. No, she's not mad at her opponent. But her opponent is literally clad in red. Which contrasts nicely with her blue and white school outfit. Besides she had her red eyes. All she needs.

The cat gets close to Edenlith and actually starts talking to her.

"I hope you're really ok from your last fight. Be careful, she looks badass."

"I am fine. She's badass, I am badass. Pain will be there."

Then the schoolgirl takes her 2 karambit knives, from under the skirt of her outfit. Two holsters can be seen briefly as she does. Then she gets in her fighting stance, moving in the street. She is presently aware of the cars but doesn't seem to care. Storm, however, doesn't come in the street, happy to settle in a spot nearby.

The schoolgirl apparently likes to use knives in battle. So it seems they both use weapons of some kind, meaning it should be a somewhat more fair fight. At least in Maki's opinion.

"I hope you're ready to see a real ninja in action," Maki comments without a smile. "I'm not like the wannabes you see on television or in the movies. I'm a real ninja and I'm going to show you what it's like to face me!"

With that, Maki twirls her tonfa a few more times before advancing towards the schoolgirl in her fighting stance as well and awaiting the start of the battle.

"Get ready... FIGHT!"

And the fight is underway, with Maki wasting no time in getting underway. She rushes at the schoolgirl and attempts to take her down with a swift kick aimed at her ankles.

So the girl was a ninja. A red ninja. Certainly not a discreet ninja with those colors, but it suits her.

"I presume facing you is like facing a real ninja. The real deal." Edenlith says.

It might look like she is taunting or making fun of Maki, but there is no trace of amusement on her face. She simply said a fact.

Then the fight starts. Maki makes the first move, rushing toward Eden, and does a well-done kick at her ankles. Eden does nothing flashy to counter this. She jumps in the air, tucking her legs in so her ankles are no longer where they were before.

As soon as she lands back down. She looks at Maki and throws her knives in the air. Then if she has her way, she sweeps Maki's feet from under her. If she falls to the ground, Edenlith grabs her legs. She then pulls the girl in the trajectory of the knives. Her objective is for the girl to get impaled with them.

"Not bad," Maki comments as she watches Edenlith pull her legs up out of the way in the nick of time. "It seems I'm going to have to adjust my tactics for fighting someone like you." She keeps a close eye on the schoolgirl, watching to see what she might try next. Somehow, Maki senses what Edenlith is planning based on how she moves when she lands, and as soon as she does, Maki decides to show how agile a ninja can truly be.

Unlike Edenlith, who simply did a tucked leg jump, Maki does a full somersault over her opponent and lands behind her. "Think that would work on me?" Maki asks without any sarcasm. "I admire your effort at using a similar tactic against me, but you'll have to do better than that."

Without waiting for an answer, Maki attempts to grab Edenlith from behind and deliver an over-the-shoulder throw. Like Edenlith's dodging tactic, it's nothing fancy, just a simple way of showing that Maki knows how to grapple.

emit It doesn't work. Maki is showing off as she gets out of the way of her sweep with a full somersault. Over her too. She even speaks to the schoolgirl as her knives are on the way down. Edenlith doesn't have time to answer, however, as she gets grabbed by the ninja girl.

Maki is good and quick. From her move, Eden does get in the air, but she is able to move her body in such a way as to grab her knives. She then ends up landing on her feet, crouching, behind the girl.

She doesn't say anything at the moment. She simply stands up and goes straight for her own move, a quick kick in her back, to push her a little. At least, if she can hit her.

Seems Maki's timing is a little off here, as she ends up grabbing at nothing but air, leaving her wondering where she slipped up. Of course that's not the biggest of her issues now.

Her bigger issue right now is the fact that she's getting kicked in the back by her opponent, which does push her forward a bit, which may not seem like much, but it's quite humiliating to have a ninja humiliated by a schoolgirl like that.

Truth be told, it doesn't really hurt, it's just humiliating.

"So, you've caught me this time, have you?" Maki says as she turns around quickly. "But that's not what a real kick is." With that, she squats down a little. "I'll show you a real kick!"

Maki plants her tonfa on the ground and then begins to spin around rapidly with her leg outstretched, using the tonfa as a pole of sorts while managing to balance on it all the same.

The success of that kick does bring a smirk from the schoolgirl. It's amusing to kick a real ninja in the back. At least she didn't do the butt. No further thoughts on the butt.

Then the ninja girl goes on a tirade (not really) about how she got caught, and now, she will show how a real kick is done. Eden doesn't have much of a reaction to it but does say

."Ok" in a disinterested tone.
% When Maki starts her move, Eden's interest is growing. What is she going to do? The way the move is done, and the way Edenlith observes her, she doesn't get out of the way completely, and her left side gets hit. Nothing too nasty, but she felt it.

"Nice, now you're trying." She tells her opponent.

Then she goes on the offensive yet again. It's her turn to spin, but around Maki. She runs around her and makes two illusions of herself. They are spinning as well. If things go Eden way, they all start slicing at different areas of the girl's body. The real Edenlith has the potential to do real damage. The copies wouldn't leave any marks, but a pain in the area can still happen.

Now you see her, now you don't... Or something to that effect, right?

It's a classic trick.

Fortunately, Maki has an ace up her sleeve. She simply backflips away from the clones, leaving herself out of danger's way. Unfortunately, that means Edenlith has moved away as well. So that leaves a bit of distance between them.

What to do?

Maki's thoughts are interrupted by a car honking at her from a distance, and that gives her an idea. She leaps onto the roof of the oncoming car, then launches off of it while flying directly at Edenlith with a swift flying kick.

Storm keeps watching the fight. Eden doesn't hit and takes blows. Happened with that hunter too. He can't help but always worry, but last time, she was a walking disaster and she still got back into the fight and kicked her ass. Even left one of her knives in the girl. It's why she has a new knife today.

"You can do it Eden!"

Eden on her end is a little upset, the girl just jumped away. How rude. Perhaps it's why when Maki launches herself off of the car, for a flying kick, Eden doesn't move out of the way or block. It hits her in the chest and makes her fly back against the door of another car, leaving the metal bent. The schoolgirl couldn't give a shit about the car. She gets back up and looks at the girl, even as the driver gives her a piece of his mind.

She then makes her way back, toward her opponent and slashes with her knife at her side, quickly. Nothing flashy.

Never bring a knife to a... wait a second, that's the wrong analogy.

Still, Maki has to give kudos to the girl for knowing how to wield a knife. But a weapon alone isn't guaranteed victory at all, it's about the skill you use in wielding it. And while Edenlith might know how to wield a knife well, there's always the chance it could be countered or even knocked away.

In this case, Maki manages to deflect away the knife strike with little effort. "Sorry, not this time," The blonde haired ninja comments as she attempts to seize the moment by attempting to throw a jab with her free hand.

Eden had to change her game. The girl could evade or stop everything she threw at her so far, except that kick. The fun kick, because somewhat she didn't expect it. Then the pain from the punch hits. Oh yeah, there is still a fight going on.

Eden smiles at Maki and tells her a few simple words and rubs her cheek where the jab hit her.

" You're good."

Then back to the offensive, but this time, she would be attacking with her mind only. Her eyes grow a brighter red as she attempts an illusion to the girl's mind. If it works out, the ground opens up under her, sending her to a fiery hell, making her burn alive. Of course, at one point the illusion drops and she isn't really burned, but there would be a leftover pain.

For what it's worth, Edenlith should've just told Maki to go to hell.

Granted, that would've provoked the ninja into attacking even harder, but what can you do?

In the end, Maki finds herself believing that she's fallen into hell, a place she's not ready to go to just yet...

"What's going on?!"

Then she finds herself getting a bit hot under the collar. A bit too hot...

Then things return to normal... except for the pain that still lingers. "Damn, what the hell was that?" She mutters as she rubs at a burned spot on her arm. "Whatever it was, I don't like it..."

Now gripping her tonfa, Maki narrows her eyes at Edenlith. "It seems you've got more up your sleeve than I thought. So I'm done holding back!" With that, Maki swings her tonfa in a downward arc at Edenlith, attempting to drive her point home.

To almost anyone in the world that would have been the perfect punt. Edenlith is many things but can be very obvious about matters like that. So she missed quite the opportunity with it. Good thing it was not a punt fight.

She grins now. It's worked, and the girl is pissed. At least that's what she thinks. At the moment, she doesn't bother to answer the girl. Except when she says she is done holding back.

"Finally!" The girls sort of exclaim.

When the tonfa comes down for her, Edenlith is simply not there anymore, but where is she? She's behind Maki, and she reaches to put one arm around her neck. If she has her way, her other arm moves in front. Her hand and knives get below her breasts. And with hat, she simply carves an 'E' into the clothes, perhaps in the chest. Not too deep if it works, but probably nothing fun about it either.

Once again, Edenlith catches Maki off guard, and the next thing she knows, her tonfa is hitting nothing but air. "Damn it," Maki curses, only to sense someone behind her. It's most likely Edenlith.

Spinning around quickly, Maki confirms her suspicions as she raises her arm and her tonfa just in time to absorb the incoming attack from Edenlith. "Nngh," She mutters out before regaining her stance. Albeit after taking a moment to wipe her forehead with her tonfa.

"You're a good training partner, I'll give you that. Maybe next time I need to warm up, I'll contact you." But Maki's not in the mood for friendly things like that right now. Instead, she leaps onto another passing car and leaps at Edenlith, aiming to come down with a swift flying kick. Simpler than before, but still effective... hopefully.

Eden is happy right now, she got the girl to curse. But the girl is also quick and has a good instinct. At least for her own preservation, as she brings her Tonga up and blocks Edenlith's attack.

"Oh!" She says before giggling with what seems glee for a moment, before going back to not caring.

She doesn't answer the training partner comment. Hell, she could kill her if she wanted to. At least so she thought. That doesn't mean she is right. The attack happens. It's very similar to the previous one. Just less precise. She manages to move to the side, out of the way of the kick. She immediately goes with a strike with the knife, toward Maki's side, in an upward arc.

Maki doesn't say anything either. She just keeps an eye on her opponent, waiting to see what her next move will be. She is starting to grow impatient with this girl and how well she seems to be evading her attacks. It almost feels like she's insulting the ninja or something. Not that it would be intentional, but things like that happen sometimes.

And then Edenlith comes in with her knife again, and as soon as the arc starts, Maki instantly feels the pain-

-And then she grabs Edenlith and hurls her over her shoulder and onto the ground. It seems Maki caught her off-guard there, but at the same time her top has been cut and there's blood coming out. "That got me good there," She whispers while rubbing at the wound a little in hopes of trying to clot the bleeding.

[EDENLITH]
The knife hits, she feels it, then mid-move, she is hurled over Maki's shoulder and slams into the ground. Maki is a worthy opponent.

Storm winces when Edenlith hits the ground, but knows she's still doing well considering, she is using her speed to her advantage. Maki is good too. Giving her a run for her money. It doesn't look like she's going to do any nasty damage, like explosions. Good for Eden.

Eden gets back on her feet and makes a strike at Maki's stomach while spinning to the side to be in a better position than upfront.

Edenlith is trying to keep Maki on her toes, and despite being beaten, burned, and even bleeding, Maki is not letting anything get the best of her. She's watching Edenlith like a hawk watches its prey. And just like a hawk moves faster than its prey, Maki moves faster than her opponent, rolling away at the last second to avoid being caught.

Of course, Edenlith also moves away as well. Which is why Maki uses yet another car's roof to go into the air (while ignoring the complaints of the driver whose roof had just been washed and now has shoeprints on it) and then attempt to grab Edenlith.

If successful, Maki will perform a one-eighty flip and then throw Edenlith from in the air.

It was almost as if Maki was expecting that move. She moves out of the way right when she needs to do it for the optimal dodging. Eden gives a mental nudge to the ninja.

Then another poor car is abused when Maki jumps from one yet again to grab her. Edenlith seems to expect that too. Her feet are firm on the ground, and she refuses to be moved. Furthermore, she pushes the girl away from her.

After this, as a car nearby slows down, Edenlith rips the side mirror off the car. It makes the man curse at her, but she needs it. She uses that mirror, throwing it at Maki. During its flight, it changes into a face hugger and even moves. It looks like it wants to grab its face and breed her. But if it hits, it doesn't attach to her face, thank god.

Maki can only shake her head in disbelief as Edenlith removes a car's mirror and then throws it at her. "I hope his insurance is paid up," Maki comments as she crouches down quickly. "If not, I hope you've got a lot of money to pay him."

The comments are made in pure sarcasm, of course, as the beaten ninja is starting to look a bit impatient. "I grow tired of this though. It's time to show you what I'm truly capable of!"

Maki advances slowly on Edenlith while gripping her tonfa. Her eyes narrow a little bit.

Then she suddenly rushes in, attempting to deliver a series of tonfa strikes and a few kicks as well. Topping that off is a flying kick like the one she demonstrated earlier.

Ok, she grows tired and dodges and tells her something about money. Not necessarily in that order, but that's how Edenlith processes it. She bummed the mirror did nothing. She has money. She's not worried about cost. She idly wonders why Maki is.

Then Maki shows what she can really do when she attacks Eden this time. Striking her everywhere with her Tonfas, some kicks. Edenlith can feel the hardness of the blows and bruises at the moment form. The flying kick at the end, this one another good one, makes her fall to the ground. It should be it, right?

It's not. Eden gets back up, albeit a little slower. Then she looks at Maki. She stares at her and thus starts her attack. Her eyes glow red again. If she succeeds with this illusion, Maki finds herself in a complete void. To the point where for a moment, she might feel like nothing exists at all. Then Edenlith comes closer and whispers with a voice that seems to come from everywhere and nowhere.

" No one loves you. It's time now."

After that, she can feel pain as Edenlith slices and stabs at different areas of her body. Eventually, that new hell ends.

Maki isn't interested in love. She's interested in the fight...

Of course, there's also the issue of suddenly being trapped in a void like nothing else and those words echoing in her head. Maki has a mouth, and she must scream... for more reasons than one.

All of that pain and horrific sensation... all of it...

Maki finds herself wondering what has happened to her and whether or not she will make it through this.

Through some miracle of some kind, Maki returns to the real world and collapses on her hands and knees, gasping for air and finding herself even more bruised and bloodied than before. "What... the hell... is this girl..." She gasps.

Struggling to get back onto her feet, Maki summons forth her inner power again and somehow manages to launch herself at Edenlith once again, only this time faster than before.

Even if Maki can't win, she can still wear her opponent down.

They are really going at each other now. Maki gets hurt and Eden smirks. But right after, it's Eden who gets hit hard by Maki's attack. That one hurts, it shows on the girl's face. But yet again, she manages to get back up.

Storm now is hiding, no longer able to watch this. Those two girls are throwing down the gloves. He doesn't like seeing his 'owner' hurt.

So still standing, mouthing out an 'ouch', toward Maki, Edenlith prepares for her next attack. She's not going down yet.

For a third time yet this match. Her eyes glow further. She stares at Maki's eyes, as if probing her soul. Then she sends visions of horrors to her mind. Visions that would mean something to her specifically. Assuming that works, she then jumps on Maki, again stabs her. She's not trying to kill her, she was not a target, but she has no problem making her hurt even more. Eden herself could certainly feel pain at the moment.

Grazing Hit

Once again those hallucinations... visions... whatever they are...

They slice and dice at her. They beat her and bruise her. They torture her.

When Maki comes out of it all, she is dazed and looking very weak. "Dirty... fighting..." She mutters.

Medical attendants rush in to get Maki out of the ring and to safety.

She can see the pain of Maki after that last attack, but she doesn't stay down quiet yet. She attacks one more time, before passing out. And what an attack it is too. Somewhat, she manages to hit quite hard, and Edenlith falls down on her back, unmoving. Is it a double ko?

Suddenly Eden gets up, looking much less beat up than she was just a moment before, but there was no opponent to continue the fight.

"No, not this time Lady Maki. Thank you for hurting me, giving me a good fight."

She then moves away to grab Storm, who came out of his hiding stop while the Announcer announces.

"We have finally a winner, after back and forth destruction, EDENLITH!" She looks around straight at one of the Drones, then she is simply gone as if she was never there.
