She wanted the life he could offer her, a damsel attempting to escape the destiny of a hard barmaid's life in a small town, and he wanted to show her he could descend from the lofty heights of an overman. And in each other, they found the destruction of their evils, and parted ways better, but more tragic for the experience. Argent threw away a career as a stockbroker and went into financing for international mercenary companies, but still the fire burned inside him to do right instead of merely what was simple. And this warrior, both on the fields of carnage and among the offices of glittering cities, joined the Ikari Warriors, providing them with something more important than a piece of currency representing the illusion of comfort. His skills with manipulation and people, the centerpoint of business. Everything else? Just a dreamy tear in a woman's eye.
