Enero - Taken

Description: With no guidance forthcoming from their absent leader as the world spirals towards destruction, one of Vega's Dolls decides to take the initiative and takes measures to keep one of their most hated enemies out of the end game.

The Good Ol' United States of America. Sure, it seems like the entire world is starting to go downhill for a variety of reasons, but the USA is somewhere that people like Ken and Eliza Masters can live and exist without having to deal with the troubles of every where else. Not that they don't care, because that couldn't be farther from the truth. No, it is has a whole lot more to do with the fact that people like Ken and Eliza Masters are definitely in need of a night off from all the worrying and business and drama.

"Get home safe, Stacey. And you tell Sean I said he better start picking you up or he's gonna' be doin' push ups for a month!" Ken is waving off the babysitter towards her car at the open door to his stellar mansion. One of them, anyway. It's the big one that sits off by itself in this California town. Away from streets and with a clear view of the mountains. It's definitely one spectacular sight to see.

"Will do, Mr. Masters! Thanks for the overtip! See you next week!" Stacey waves the couple extra hundred dollar bills around as she starts her car and makes with the driving off out of the gates that lead up to the Masters Estate. Eliza should be just in the doorway or further in the house, probably getting wine or something for the continuation of their Date Night. Either way, Ken only lingers long enough to make sure that Stacey gets out of the gate okay. Oh and to check his phone. Because there are so many damn text messages...

Chaos.

If there were a single word that she had to choose to describe the state of her life right at this moment, 'chaos' would be the winner without even the slightest hint of a contest.

Enero sits staring down at the small but high-tech tablet that rests in her lap. Normally there would be a constant scroll of information as data is piped into its wireless connection from all around the world, a cornucopia of raw intelligence that she and Marz, and to some extent the other Dolls, would study and analyze, converting it from a mess of unintelligible white noise into something that could be used to further the glory of their great Lord Vega. Now there is little more than a few scraps of paltry information, tiny lines slowly crawling across the screen as if ashamed to be the only thing on offer.

The young girl sighs and glances up, casting her deceptively cheerful gaze over the assembly of masked soldiers that line the benches of the troop transport. The soldiers of Shadaloo seem to mirror her own mood, their demeanor somber and their voices silent as they go about the final preparations for the mission at hand. Even with the eternal devotion that she holds for the cause, it is hard not to feel the lack of morale. No matter; they have a job to do.

The calamities that have struck the world of late might have been a cause for celebration. With so many world governments in a state of shock, each scrambling to put out the fires of panic and fear within their own borders, the world should have been ripe for the picking. So why is it that Lord Vega has chosen this time to sequester himself from their view? Even the Dolls, his most trusted lieutenants, have no idea where he might be. Could something unthinkable have occured? No, they would have felt it if his life force had been affected in some way. So then why?

Some of the others had suggested that they were being tested. To her that seems like a wasted opportunity, but then, Lord Vega's ways are often mysterious. If it is true, however, she has no desire to fall short of His expectations - the consequences of failure within Shadaloo are often... unpleasant; and even if he were merciful, she would still sacrifice herself willingly to advance His cause.

With a dull click the gentle illumination within the interior of the large helicopter flips from green to red. Enero's expression hardens and she pushes such distractions away from her mind. No room for doubt, no room for failure. Even without the comfort of having a network of intelligence to back her up, she will get results.

A short buzzer sounds in her ears and the loading ramp at the back of the transport begins to fold open revealing the warm blue sky of California. She motions the first group forward and they leap through the gaping opening without hesistation, sliding down towards the ground at breakneck speeds on repelling ropes. Half a dozen armored troopers hit the ground just outside of the Master's Estate, creating a semi-circle before the gate just as the babysitter's car begins to pull out into the street. Assault weapons snap to the ready and unleash a hail of bullets without warning, shredding the car's tires in an instant.

"You there, woman!" One of the soldiers speaks, his voice distorted by the small speaker within his helmet. "Hands up! Get out now!"

Stacey's tires gets shredded to pieces because let's face it, she's not exactly in a car that's worth anything. It's not even her car. It's her Mom's! But she's in a complete and utter freak out mode right now due to the fact that there is what looks like some sort of dangerous army of craziness harshing her gig something fierce. She squeals and does not follow orders at all. Instead, she ends up throwing the money out the window and diving down towards the floor of the vehicle. Who knows if that's going to do anything, but she's panicking right now. As would anyone in this type of situation.

The helicopter is what draws Ken's attention. It's California so there's always bound to be something flying overhead. But that's no chopper like he's ever really seen before. "The hell?" Okay, that's a lie. It's one he's seen before and he knows the type. And the type is never good. "Eliza." Ken's voice is as calm as it can be as he starts walking towards the gate, his phone getting tossed in the house behind him. As Ken's epic heroic walk is happening, Eliza appears in the doorway behind him. "Get Mel. Lock up." Ken pulls off his suit jacket, tossing it off to the side as he starts to pick up the pace a little bit, rushing towards the gates as Stacey's car is the one that is getting attacked at this very moment. "Shit's about to get real."

Eliza does exactly as she's told, falling back into the house, slamming and locking the doors. It is safe to say she's rushing up those stairs inside to get to Mel's room. She's worried and scared, obviously, but there's really nothing to do right now but prepare to protect her son at all costs. Which may be what the baseball bat is for.

By this time, Ken Masters has broken out into a full out run. His shoes (which he hates by the way) race over the pavement of his driveway as he immediately starts taking stock of the soldiers and their arrival, counting them, committing that information to memory and producing some witty banter to take their attention off Stacey and onto himself. Especially, since he's taking to the air for some epic somersaulting into a gliding dragon kick.

"Wrong house, assholes! Clint Eastwood's two blocks over!"

The money that comes flying out of the window is completely ignored; seems these guys aren't here for something as crude as petty robbery. One of the soldiers grunts and moves towards the car, intent on pulling the frightened young girl out by force. His hand closes around the handle of the driver-side door but Ken's wild shout and dynamic entry into the fray cuts the attempt short.

Whirling around to face his attacker, the Shadaloo soldier throws his arm up to catch the flying kick, only barely intercepting the strike in time to save himself from a world of hurt. Even so, the sheer ferocity of the blow sends him staggering backwards. "Nrgh!"

"Secondary Target has entered the engagement zone with Bravo Squad."

Enero nods, pressing a finger to the small device in her ear. "Understood. Proceed according to plan. Keep him busy as long as possible."

"Roger." One of the soldiers on the ground turns and nods towards the others. At the signal, they quickly eject the magazines from their guns, stowing them away only to replace them with a fresh set. A thin band of blue tape encircles the base of these new clips but otherwise they appear identical. "Engaging target!"

The small squad of soldiers fan out, moving to encircle Ken from multiple sides. The man he just clobbered hops back to his feet and falls back to change his own magazine which prompts the others to open fire upon the martial artist to give him cover.

With the first phase of her plan proceeding well, Enero starts to feel a little bit more like herself. She smiles at the display mounted to the wall, watching the precision-drilled teamwork of her squads as they go about their duty. They have almost no chance of winning, ofcourse, but defeating the world-reknowned fighter isn't their goal. The Doll taps a button on her monitor and the picture changes to that of the Masters Estate, providing her a tactical display of the building generated from their backups within the main database.

"Take us in. I will capture the Primary target myself."

The helicopter pivots in the sky and begins to move away from the gate, swiftly coasting across the wide lawn towards the manor itself. Enero appears in the open space at the rear of the vehicle, dressed in the unmistakable uniform that all of Vega's Dolls sport. She fastens the safety harness around her waist to one of the repelling lines before taking a running leap out into the air. The line catches after a few dozen feet and the slender assassin swings towards the house like an acrobat. Her legs press together and she releases the tether, the girl's body spinning like a corkscrew as she plows into one of the windows on the upper level and vanishes from view.

Bullets or No Bullets, Ken Masters is not about to let himself get taken out of this fight in any sense of the word. After flipping off the body of the initial Shadaloo Soldier, Ken's shoes hit the ground and he's back in the air just as quickly as he touched down. With soldier's firing at him from their half-circle and from various directions, it would behoove him to continue on with the movements. Which is what he does, because he looks like something of a wild blurr right now.

He twists and flips as he touches down at various points, making sure that whatever is coming his way gets dipped and dodged with the greatest of ease. Eventually, he lands on the hood of Stacey's car and he takes a moment to wag his finger at this sudden influx of violent activists. "Seriously? This has to go down on Date Night?" Ken offers a quick shrug to accept the fate and then he's leaping off, somersaulting through the air as he works on trying to get a few disarming motions going, slamming his foot into the direction of one soldier's gun, whilst pivoting on his planted foot and aiming an elbow in the direction of the side of his head. All to swing up and around that body, planting both feet again and aiming to hurl one soldier into a couple more. He's really more aiming to take these idiots down faster than they are used to be taken down. Because, believe it or not, Ken does know that his house is still unprotected. But he can't let Stacey get harmed either.

Where the hell is Ryu when you need him?

Eliza and Mel are somewhere on the top floor, likely tucked away into one of the many rooms up there. Hiding away is clearly the best bet right now. One is armed with a baseball bat and knows a few moves or two from her Sister's Husband. And the other is training to be as awesome as the guy right outside is being right now. They have not split up just yet, but they are definitely making with the stay still and quiet method of survival. For the moment.

The hail of gunfire echoes all around Ken but something seems off about the bullets. The sound they make as they whizz all around him doesn't have quite the same zing as usual. The reason becomes clear a few moments later as the soldiers spray assault rounds into the empty space where the fighter used to be. A loud series of pings ring out as the shells impact against the surface of the car but rather than punch more holes in Stacey's ride, they simply dent the surface before rebounding harmlessly onto the street.

Rubber bullets!

For whatever reason, they aren't trying to actually hurt him or the girl. That doesn't mean they are any less serious about laying on the pressure though. Ken's Master-ful (GET IT?) display of skill forces the soldiers onto the defensive. His whirlwind assault robs one of the soldiers of his weapon only for the man to be turned into a projectile himself. Rather than jump out of the way, however, the two men that he is tossed towards move to catch their companion, blunting what could have been a disabling impact.

The other half of the squad continues their attack, moving to try and flank Ken before he can recover. Their guns bark fire as a fresh wave of rubberized lead peppers the air around him but the automatic weapons aren't ideal for placing precision shots. Instead, they simply try to spray enough bullets in his direction to keep him pinned down or atleast hamper his movements some.

Back within the manor, Enero is making no secret of her presence. Half a dozen doors lie broken upon the floor in her wake, ripped clean off their hinges as she kicks them down in the most literal fashion in search of her target. Ofcourse, Ken's house is pretty sizable so there are a lot of rooms to search, but the Doll is moving with a purpose; she knows her time is limited.

COMBATSYS: Ken parries Bravo Squad's Medium Shot!

Ken              0/-------/---====|====---\-------\0      Bravo Squad

Ken's feet touch the ground and now that he's between the soldiers and the babysitter, he has a moment to look over his shoulder at her. "Go. Now." And then he's turning his attention back towards the soldiers that are still getting themselves in a position to lay it to him. Of course, with the rubber bullets in play, Ken is less worried about getting hit than he would be. He smirks as he turns back towards them, listening to Stacey slam gears and squeal tires to get herself out of there. And if she happens to hit a soldier or two with her car on the way out? Bonus.

"Hey, maybe you guys should switch back. These decaf bullets? Not really workin' for ya', are they?"

Ken's witty banter comes along with the twirling and spinning of the weapon he has in hand. Using it like some sort of twisted martial arts staff, he smacks at rubber bullets as they sail in his direction, knocking them this way and that way. Still, there's like two or three that hit his muscles but he's too built to really feel it. They just ricochet off his body.

The gun clatters to the ground in the midst of the rubber bullet flurry and Ken's feet are planted apart. His hands are already pulled back at this side, the bluish energy crackling as it collects inwards and expands outward into a circular shape. Ken's eyes are almost glowing with crimson vigor as his arms shake slightly whilst trying to contain the power that's growing between his hands. "My turn." is said flavored with snark as he speaks through gritted teeth.

"HADOUKEN!"

His exclamation comes as he thrusts those hands forwards and sends an explosive ball of chi energy off in the direction of those soldiers. Intent on blasting them to back to where they come from. Or at least away from him. After all, there's a lot more 'oomph' and 'chi-stank' on that one. It's bigger too.

Inside Masters Estate...

Eliza and Mel have holed themselves up in one of the final rooms on this floor. They can hear someone coming and they have already assumed some pretty slick positions in hiding. Clearly, they are ready for their door to be kicked open. But until then? Silence. Maybe whomever's out there will get pissed and go away.

COMBATSYS: Ken successfully hits Bravo Squad with Hadouken EX.

The armored masks that the soldiers wear prevents Ken from seeing their expressions as he gathers up the infamous burst of powerful chi but, if the speed at which they scramble to get out of the way is any indication, it is a safe bet that they are all collectively sharing an 'OHSHIT' look. Unfortunately, they aren't nearly quick enough to escape. The hadouken explodes amdist the trio of goons, scattering them in various directions on the street. One of the men briefly attempts to push himself back to his feet but he joins the other two in unconsciousness a few moments later.

Well, so much for keeping him busy. The remaining half of the squad pull themselves together, spreading out as before, partially to manuever into a better position and partially to avoid getting run over by the wild driving of the terrified babysitter as she tries to control the tire-less vehicle. Despite their wounded, the soldiers don't appear to be phased in the least. They knew this was just a diversion; but they aren't out of the game yet.

BLAM.

Another door clatters to the ground, falling unceremoniously before Enero's psychic might. A bathroom. A quick check behind the shower curtain reveals that this room is empty as well. That just leaves two more. The Doll moves quickly, darting back into the hallway and practically flying through one of the last pair of doors.

BLAM.

COMBATSYS: Bravo Squad calculates his next move.

Bravo Squad falls asleep.

Bravo Squad wakes up.

"Good girl. Definitely gonna' have to pay her extra next week." Granted, Ken would've rather her get out the car and run. Because, y'know, lack of tires. But still, anyone that's willing to ruin her mother's rims like that? Definitely deserves a big tip.

Ken comes out of his full on stance of Hadouken throwing and gives his hair a toss. He looks around to make sure that Stacey's getting some distance between the soldiers and his place. Because that's the important thing right now. And as he turns to look at the remaining soldiers, there's a small earpiece hooked to his ear. It lights up red (because he custom fitted it, yo) for a second and then he speaks in a low voice, "Speaker me."

Inside, in that last door, Mel's cellphone is low-lit and under the bed. There's movement through various shadows in the room. Eliza's fingers grip the baseball bat even tighter. And Mel ducks a bit more to cling to the shadows of his own hiding spot. The moment of truth is upon them.

And Ken Masters can hear everything.

A quick reach up to mute the earpiece and Ken is focused on those last few soldiers. Ken smirks and takes a step towards the collective, almost a threatening one. But his swagger is a bit less ready for war and more cocky bounce step. He's got these fools on the run and there's not a moment that goes by that he's not listening to what's going on in the house. He's also got a peripheral eye on that chopper, if it's still up there. "Better not blow up my house. Eliza just had it remodeled." This is uttered to himself before he raises his voice towards the soldiers. "Hey, ain't you guys a little short to be Stormtroopers?" And then he's running off in their direction, leaping up and spinning with one out stretched leg after another, hurling with great aerial prowess, ability and most importantly? Style. As he proceeds to attempt to Hurricane Kick his way through the rest of these fools.

"Tatsumaki Senpuu Kyaku!"

Ken almost pauses to look at the camera that doesn't exist, his expression clearly stating: 'What? I like saying it!'. Wink.

Back to Hurricane Kicking.

COMBATSYS: Ken successfully hits Bravo Squad with Tatsumaki Senpuu Kyaku.

As before, Ken's taunts are met with silence and the expressionless stare of the armored masks that encapsulate the soldier's heads. They've heard worse. The next few moments are almost as painful as the tired joke, however. The spinning kick smashes through all three of the remaining soldiers, impossible amounts of force exploding into their bodies.

All three men hit the ground with dull thuds, rebounding off the asphalt only to lie motionless. Despite this, one of them pushes back to his feet a moment later, his pained grunt echoing through the cracked speaker system. Reaching with shaking hands towards the utility belts strapped across his armor the soldier slips his fingers through the the pins of half a dozen grenades and with a single determined motion pulls them free.

"Hrngh... f-for Lord Vega!"

Running at Ken with everything he has left, ignoring the sharp burning pain in his chest where the armor is dented into his ribs, the fanatical warrior dives through the air at the last moment, arms outstretched to latch onto the martial artist. Ofcourse, he's not planning to commit suicide; those are just flashbangs, but at pointblank the heat and shockwaves should be enough to put the hurt on just about anyone.

Enero's calculating gaze sweeps over the interior of the room even as the door flops to the ground at her feet. A somewhat sizeable bedroom fills the corner space of the house but as before there is nothing here but extravagant decorations. The Doll tears open the closet; empty. The bed is lifted and heaved upwards, flipping onto its side with a groan of protest; nothing here. That just leaves one room.

Clenching her fist in anticipation, Enero smiles faintly and turns around, moving towards the final door.

COMBATSYS: Ken instinctively dodges Bravo Squad's Scorched Earth EX.

Ken is back on the ground as that final storm trooper comes running at him. And he stands his ground. He doesn't blink. He doesn't move. His hair does, because it is just that awesome, but he stands and waits. Not even wanting to pretend like he's worried about this jerk in the least. Oh no, he's more than capable of dealing with a final threat.

"Shame shame, know your name." is whispered to himself as he crouches low into a position that most would be familiar with. Although, the moment that the soldier is leaping at him, he rolls forward and underneath, making sure that he comes out on the other side. He'll be damned if he wastes a perfectly good flowchart assessment on such primitive acts of futility. Instead, he finishes his tucked roll and pops back on his feet. His movements are swift by now and he spins around and just puts his weight behind a massive swinging right handed hook that even glows with just a smidge of chi energy. Just a bit. Maybe because Ken is getting tired of all this stormtrooper nonsense.

While that fist is swinging, he's touching the earpiece to unmute himself and through cinematic timing and double screens, his voice can be heard coming from the phone in that final room. Which is still dark and shadowed. If everything is cinematically timed and appropriate, whatever invaders are inside his house and in (or busting into that room) will get to hear his words:

"Alright, asshole. It doesn't matter who you are. It doesn't matter why you're in my house. But in about thirteen seconds I'm gonna' be inside. And if you're still inside, there's only one thing that's going to happen. And that's me kicking your ass. Leave now and we'll call it even. Don't? And, well, you'll see in nine seconds." Dramatic Cinematic Pause of Justice. "Smooches." There. Verbal Distraction Set.

That final room is still. It's a bedroom. There's closets. There's dressers. There's mirrors. And there's huge drapes making sure not even moonlight comes through. And there's Eliza. With a baseball bat. And an expression on her face that looks somewhere between a mix of Ken and Guile's collective pissed-offness. She counts footsteps. Because it's about to go down.

COMBATSYS: Bravo Squad fails to interrupt Fierce Punch from Ken with Shock and Awe.

COMBATSYS: Bravo Squad can no longer fight.

Ken's fist impacts the back of the soldier's armor, turning his kamikaze leap into an uncontrolled spin through the air. The flashbangs detonate a moment later turning the grunt into a blinding ball of white light for a split second. His body hits the ground, motionless, thick wisps of hot steam rising from the melted sections of hardened plastic on his armor where the grenades once were.

"Bravo Squad has been defeated."

The voice in Enero's heatset reflects the truth of the words that drift out from the hidden cellphone within the final room. Looks like she's going to be cutting this close. Rather than retreat, however, she takes the final step towards the door and snaps her foot out, blasting the wooden barricade clean out of the frame. The intensity of the blow sends wooden splinters showering into the room and the calculating assassin uses that momentary distraction to slide into the new opening in the wall.

Scorching psychic light erupts to life within the girl's eyes as she draws upon the power granted to her by the all-powerful Lord Vega, calling forth her gift as she brings a portable microphone up to her mouth. Her eyes catch those of the woman waiting iside and she smirks faintly upon noticing the bat; useless. Inhaling softly, Enero lets loose a high-pitched wail into the psychic amplifier and the air all around her explodes with raw sonic energy.

1) Eliza gets blasted backwards like there's no tomorrow. She goes sailing towards the wall or something and that bat of hers gets exploded. It was a wooden one. Those are the best kind, y'know. Luckily, it wasn't one of the signed ones lest Ken would be even more pissed than he already is.

2) Mel's hiding place gets cracked and broken by psycho-sonic energy of the most annoying kind. He must've been in one of those dressers because it is not cracking and crumbling from the energy and his weight. He's balling his fists up in preparation to fight, because he just heard his Mom hit the wall and then the floor. But he also just heard his father. Count the seconds, Mel. Count the seconds.

3) Ken Masters doesn't even wait for the final soldier to fall. He's already running back towards the house, kicking his shoes off with two hearty steps and then he's leaping up to the top of his car. One of them, anyway. The moment his bare feet touch the roof, that psycho-sonic energy goes off and he Ken can see the light. Which is good because he knows where he's going now. But it is also bad because the feedback that comes through his phone and into his earpiece is painful enough for him to have to yank the damn thing out of his ear. It gets tossed aside and in another step he's leaping for one of those many repel lines hanging from the chopper above. Probably a bad idea, but he's not going to be there long.

Just using it for a little bit of a boost and to put a little tarzan style on it, he's swinging from the line and leaping off, somersaulting in the air and crashing through the window next to the window that was previously used by the home invader. If the glass cuts him, it doesn't show, because he's already rolling the moment his body hits the floor on the inside. By the time he's up on his feet, his shirt has been ripped off and voila: muscles. And thanks to previous applications of door destruction, it is only moments before he's in the hall and rushing his way towards that room where everything is going down. There's a somewhat excited smirk on his face as he mutters, "Round Two. Fight." to himself upon his glorious action hero run of justice.

Enero wastes no time with petty insults or monologuing as her assault sends the woman crashing to the floor. The shattering of glass and heavy footfalls in the hall behind her tell her all she needs to know about what is coming around the bend. She has only a few moments before an angry husband tears through her like Satsuki at a sushi bar; she does not waste them.

Leaping forward into a roll, the Doll hooks her hand underneath the fallen door and flings it at the shattered entryway just as Ken's silhouette takes shape. Her acrobatic leap lands her next to the fallen Eliza and she turns to scoop the woman up in the same motion that sends the wooden projectile flying, holding the unconscious blonde up by the waist as she leaps back to her feet.

Enero positions her hostage between herself and Ken, smirking faintly over his wife's shoulder with glimmering eyes filled with the familar glow of Psycho Power. "Black Bishop takes White Queen. Checkmate, Mister Masters."

Ken slides right into the doorway... and gets smacked with a door. He cracks across him and he stumbles just a bit too long. He just took out like a billion guys and now people are throwing his own house at him? Uncool. He swings a couple times to punch his way through the remaining bits of door, while trying to get back to his feet fast enough.

"Chess references? Seriously? I am so much cooler than James Bond." His snark is being used to hide his anger so that he can stay focused on saving his wife. Which has him now pushing through and over the broken door to get into the room proper. He can't throw anything because Eliza is in the way. He's nowhere near as good with aiming Hadoukens as his Shoto-Brother.

There's some slight skidding to a halt, though he remains in a fighting stance as he stares down the Doll with his wife's body. He catches sight of Mel through the cracked dresser and just wills him to stay put. One hostage is bad enough. "You know, I got some Visine in the bathroom. Help clear that eye issue right up." He probably shouldn't be taunting the woman holding His woman but he can't help it. He's got Spider-Man Syndrome.

Fortunately for Ken, Vega's puppets aren't the vindictive sort. They aren't... any sort really, though Enero shows a fair bit more emotion than her 'sisters' tend to do. Even her teasing grin looks bizarre and haunting when paired with the dead stare that she gives him through the glowing haze of purple light.

"Sorry, that is the best I can offer," she says, taking a few steps backwards. Her gaze never waivers, remaining fixated on the threat before her until her back hits the far wall. Enero lowers the hand holding her microphone, aiming the instrument towards the curtained window as she releases another burst of sonic energy. The glass explodes in a fountain of sparkling shards and almost immediately a powerful wind buffets the room. The source becomes clear a moment later when the large transport helicopter drops down level with the opening, its rear hatch open and ready to retrieve both the Doll and her prize.

"Fear not, Mister Masters, she will not be harmed... so long as you cooperate." The young girl's voice cuts through the rythmic thumping of the blades with ease, her words seeming to echo within his mind as well as his ears. "You will be contacted soon."

Unleashing a final sonic blast at Ken to ensure that he does not attempt to give chase, Enero turns and leaps, throwing both herself and Eliza across the dozen foot gap to land at the base of the ramp. A pair of soldiers rush down to drag them both up to safety even as the transport turns and begins to retreat into the clear blue of the California sky.

With all the psycho-sonic energy being thrown around, not to mention the wind, it is hard for Ken to try and give chase. He takes a couple steps but powerful energy takes apart the dresser, spilling Mel out into the open and in the way of that damn blast. "Mel!" Ken's movements pick up speed, even through the wind from the choppers and he dives to scoop his son up and roll to the side, letting even more of his expensive house get blasted to pieces.

Ken holds onto his son pretty tight at this moment, holding him close while the Doll escapes with the love of his life. When the psycho-sonic energy has cleared out, he's back on his feet and stepping out to look out the window. The chopper is long in the distance now and he just throws a protective arm around his son.

Mel looks up at his father and then off at the chopper, "Dad?"

Ken doesn't look down. He can't. Hair is in his eyes. There's blood on him from somewhere. And he's committing the look of that chopper to memory, because he's going to have to call in a Guile favor. Ugh. But still, he's focused and still has one family member left. Which is good. Because that gives him all the motivation he needs. "I'll get her back, Mel. I promise. Go pack your stuff. You're going to your Aunt's."

Mel lingers but disperses shortly thereafter while Ken brings his cell phone (which amazingly isn't broken) out of his pocket and up to his ear. Speed Dial.

"Hey. I don't know where you are right now and I don't care. But those bastards took Eliza." Ken narrows his eyes at the almost out of sight chopper. "It's time we get the band back together."

Ken pulls the phone down and drops it on the pieces of wrecked bed, turning to walk out of the torn asunder room. There's only a single name on the screen of the phone before the backlight fades.

Ryu.
