Description: When the Ezo Empire begins building fortifications to help tamp down on the growing resistance in Southtown, Hinata and Yuri lead an operation to bring down the barricade manned by mercenaries and kick them out of Southtown.

Alls quiet on the western front, so they say. Makes sense, seeing as it IS early evening in Southtowns western outskirts. A fortified barricade has been hastily constructed by the mercenaries working for Rolento and Honoka. The tough as nails soldiers carry their weapons with trained poise as they patrol their assigned areas. Rumor has it meetings have occured setting up some sort of rebellion, and when or where it will come, IF it ever does, is unknown, so they've been ordered to be on high alert, at least for the time being.
As a result, there are very few being allowed to rest, and everyones weapons are loaded, cleaned, and ready to rock and roll should the need arise! Given being beaten by the enemy, and being caught slacking by Rolento, there is no real choice. At least against a rebellion there is a CHANCE of living to the next paycheck!
On a small platform near the top of the barricade, a spotlight flicks to life as twilight approaches, panning around in search of intruders......
Once the forces working for the "Ezo Empire" brought themselves out into the open, things became substantially easier for the small force of fighters that currently call Southtown home. It's a lot harder for your enemy to play the part of benevolent ruler attempting to make the best of a difficult situation when you start sending armed mercenaries out into the cities.
Now with targets to focus on, the resistance has split up into a number of groups. This wall and the mercenaries lining it is a real problem, and it's no easy task to get a small army of fighters in past that, which has lead to the much smaller team of Hinata and Yuri making their way up over the wall to the enemy side. Small and agile is the name of the game as they land on the far side and huddle in behind some brush.
"Looks like we made it over," Hinata's voice comes out substantially quieter than its normal enthusiastic tone. "Now we just have to try to avoid catching too much attention on the way to the barricade."
Young and agile, but with a big heart and a lot of willpower. That's Yuri Sakazaki for you. And she's more than willing to join the resistance as well, given how she's a lifelong resident of Southtown, and isn't about to see her hometown be taken away by those who don't deserve it! Following swiftly behind Hinata, Yuri pauses occasionally to check to make sure they're not being tailed by anyone as they make their way into the brush.
Once they've found their safe spot, Yuri listens to what Hinata has to say, nodding only slightly to acknowledge her partner's words. Once Hinata is done talking, Yuri replies with, "It won't be easy, but I know we can do it!" She replies quietly, albeit with a slight hint of enthusiasm in it to remind Hinata that Yuri's still optimistic about this whole thing. She tries to smile a little, but for some reason she can't. Nevertheless, Yuri looks to Hinata briefly before looking out of the brush as best as she can, trying to get a glimpse of the area around them.
It would seem that, despite the intimidation factor of working for Rolento, the guards are starting to slack a little. While they seem attentive, they completely miss the pair of young warriors stealth manuever. One can even be seen to yawn when he doesn't think anyone is looking. Everyone gets tired, and this fact is as true now as ever. A guard patrols right past the bush in which their taking cover, and completely misses them!
Normally a patrol of armed guards would probably be looking for big, bulky tough guys with a ton of military gear and cool guns. When it's two high school aged girls hiding in the brush, that's quite different.
Once the patrol has maneuvered past their position, and the sound of their feet have drowned off, Hinata nods to Yuri. "Let's go."
She starts to lead the way back toward the barricade, focusing on moving in a low crouch, darting from brush to brush, doing her best to keep an ear open for the sounds of heavy boots or the light of a searchlight beaming down toward their position.
When Yuri senses that the soldiers aren't doing their best work right now, she smirks a little, wondering if Rolento is really serious about his tactics or not. Not that Yuri wants to find out first hand from him, but if they are slacking and they get punished, all the better in Yuri's opinion.
When Hinata nods to Yuri, Yuri nods back, not saying anything though. Instead, she follows behind Hinata as best as she can.
Yuri's sneakers are flat soled and soft, meaning that they don't make that much noise on the ground. Nevertheless, she too moves in a crouched position, her head darting to the side occasionally as if trying to detect what could be a nearby sound. In these cases, it's just her imagination. Her eyes do remain focused on the searchlights, not wanting to be blinded by the light in more ways than one!
As the pair make their way behind enemy lines, focusing on the searchlight or footsteps, a sudden shout of a soldier on the ball, and standing still on one of the small upper platforms, points down, shouting "Hey you! Stop where you are and put your hands up!" All the other soldiers look over to the commotion, weapons pointed at the pairs general location!
The spotlight starts to move to where they were seen, as its user attempts to lock down their exact position for his comrades!
Okay, that didn't go exactly as plannned. Hinata's first reaction as the search lights come focusing in on her position is to duck back into the nearest pile of brush in the hopes they'll lose track of her. Once the search light settles into position right on top of her and guards start moving closer, it's fairly obvious that she's not going to be so lucky.
The schoolgirl rises up out of the brush and moves out to clearer ground where she's got room to move, pulling her hands up into fighting posture. "I guess this won't be as easy as we were hoping."

As soon as the spotlights fall on Yuri and Hinata's position, she raises her hands briefly to shield her eyes from the brightness. She knows that they've been found and that now the guards will be on them like mice on cheese. There's nowhere to run and nowhere to hide. Yuri looks to Hinata as they move into open ground and nods. "We're gonna have to fight our way out of this! But we can do it!"
Yuri cracks her knuckles a few times then gets into her fighting stance, bouncing on her heels a little just like always. "There may be strength in numbers, but big things come in small packages!" Yuri comments with an evil grin on her face as if to say, 'Bring it on!'

As the pair stand up, the soldiers take a collective step back. Something about the pairs bravado, the cracking of the knuckles, the evil grin.... these are not things most people display when surrounded by many soldiers armed with guns. They seem to stand there, not doing anything for a moment, until someone panicks, and opens fire! Once the one person does so, the rest instinctively do as well, and a hail of bullets comes from both the soldiers on the ground, as well as those positioned in the fortifications!

This isn't looking great. There's not a lot of room to move, but as the guards open fire on Hinata, she starts to leap out of the way. Bullets whiz past, a lot of them clipping the high school girl as she tries to get a better position. This ends up shepherding her over toward Yuri's side.
"Maybe we should try to focus fire!" She shouts, trying to be heard over the deafing noise of firearms going off all around them. Even if she isn't heard, she immediately decides to make her intentions known as she begins to rush in at the guards that just fired on Yuri.
"Let's go!" She bellows as she bull rushes the fire team, barrelling into their midst as she opens up with a furious serious of punches, each aimed at whatever target gets too close to her.
In the case someone is firing upon you, your best bet is to try to get out of the area as quickly as possible, while moving around in a zig-zag pattern to make yourself less of a target. Then, find cover or something like that, once you've gotten far enough away from the shooter. But Yuri isn't about to run away, not after she's come this far with Hinata! Instead, she stands her ground and... prepares to fight back?
As the bullets come at Yuri, she raises her hands and surrounds her fists with an aura of chi. The chi acts like a reflective shield, as not only does it protect Yuri from the bullets, but it also sends them back at the shooters! What will happen now?

The soldiers on the ground in the open reflexively scatter for cover, many dropping where they stand, as their bullets are suddenly reflected back at them! Only a straggler or two is off enough to take hits, and of them only one goes down in a pool of red, the other merely wounded.
Of course, this opens him and many others up to Hinatas focused assault! The injured man is down for the count, along with another several members of the squad before they reorganize and counterattack, attempting to meet Hinata head on!
Meanwhile, the group up in the defensive positions again open up, aiming for both girls as their both out in the open!

One advantage to being in the midst of a skirmish is that it makes it a lot easier to start getting out of the way. Keeping her best eye on both approaching groups of enemies, the energetic young fighter puts all of her focus into making them worry as much about each other as they are her. She ducks in through the charging group, ducks behind them as bullets come flying out her, and manages to come out the other side completely unscathed.
With her position a bit less dangerous, she keeps up her assault on the unit surrounding her, taking one of them head on as she aims to kick him right in the gut, stun him, grab hold of him, and fling him at one of his compatriots.
Yuri has gotten a bit too cocky for her own good in this situation, and the gunshot hits her directly in the arm. This results in a fair amount of blood coming out from her injury, but it barely fazes Yuri. Instead, it only increases the adrenaline flowing through her body once she recovers from the shock. After catching her breath, Yuri glares at the soldiers. "You're a good shot, but are you good at evading attacks? Did your so-called leader teach you anything about that?"
Yuri pulls back the uninjured arm and attempts to focus her chi into it. "Let's see how you like this!" She then sends forth a blast of chi, aimed at the group of soldiers who opened fire on her.

The man Yuri addresses stares dumbfounded as she manages to stand up. This results in him being completely unprepared when her projectile is thrown! It hits him solidly, sending him flying off the back end of the fortifications with his best imitation of a wilhelm scream! His compatriots look at him, look back stunned a moment, then begin firing at Yuri in earnest!
After all, SHE can hit THEM from there with those attacks!
Hinata, meanwhile, runs into some.... complications. She does indeed succeed in her attacks on the man, ending in a throw. His compatriot however is on the ball, and sidesteps around his flying teammate to come in with a vicious strike with the butt of his gun aimed at her stomach. The rest of the ground squad is still manuevering for another attack, one of them stopping to reload.
Getting hit in the gut isn't an enjoyable experience... but as a fighter, Hinata has stood up to would be dictators and other threats, so as much pain as she's in as she briefly falls to her knees, it's not enough to actually keep her down.
"Southtown... is our town!" She shouts, bringing herself back to her feet and pulling her hands off to her side as a ball of glowing chi begins to form between her hands, swirling wildly as it expands out to nearly the size of a basketball. Suddenly then she thrusts her hands forward toward the nearest group and the ball goes soaring the short distance before exploding outward, expanding even further as it looks like a sunflowing coming into bloom.

Another hit against Yuri, and this one hits her even harder. It pierces through her torso, leaving more blood on her gi top than there should be. Yuri drops to the ground, the shock of the pain radiating through her like a burning annoyance. Speaking of burning, that's how Yuri's feeling right now, now that she's been shot several times and she feels like she could be doing a lot better here.
Ignoring the pain in her body, Yuri grits her teeth as she forces herself up onto her hands and knees, using her fists to act a little more tougher as opposed to keeping her palms flat on the ground, before getting up finally. She slaps her face a few times to keep herself alert before glaring at the soldiers, a look of defiance and one that ignores her wounds.
"I'm done playing nice!" Yuri says as she stares at the group of soldiers. "I'm going to send you back to hell where you belong!" This time, Yuri brings both of her fists behind her as she begins to focus her chi into her fists. "HAOH SHO KO KEN!" She calls out, sending forth a HUGE fireball at the soldiers.

The group of ground-squad soldiers Hinata attacks are caught completely off guard! The attack bowls into them, knocking most of them out cold. One comes at her from an odd angle, however, slowly and quietly as shes focused elsewhere. He suddenly rushes in as she recovers from her projectile, attempting to use a joint lock to throw her to the ground!
Meanwhile, the group of soldiers up in the defenses take cover and scramble out of the way of Yuris attack, which melts the bullet-proof plastic-like substance the fortifications are made up of! They stay behind what cover is available to them up there, reloading their weapons!

Apparently it's not that easy to actually get Hinata off guard, because the high school girl, manages to duck right under his attempt to grab her and kicks her way out of the fray for a moment to recollect herself. She's managed to hold up fairly well, but she can't risk letting herself get careless.
This in turn leads to a bit more of a careful approach as she tries to keep some pressure up without going overboard. Hinata rushes in at the soldier that just went for her and swings in with a speedy low kick. "HYaa! You might as well give up!"
Yuri watches as the fortifications melt under the heat of her huge fireball. But they are unfazed at least physically. Still, Yuri knows that they can't keep fighting forever, and neither can she. Fortunately, the bleeding seems to have stopped for now, partially due to some bandages she found on a nearby downed soldier. Wrapped tightly around the wounded spots, Yuri can still keep fighting while her wounds are protected. When she sees them attempting to reload, Yuri shakes her head.
"You think you can take a time out without asking me? No way!" Yuri rushes in quickly, attempting to jump over any cover between her and the soldiers, then attempts to deliver a swift rising uppercut.

As Hinata comes in with a low kick, the soldier in question shifts his position, his footing allowing him to take the blow with minimal effort as he moves in, pulling a pistol lightening fast, and firing a series of shots at her!
Yuri, meanwhile, leaps clear up into the ramparts of the fortifications, and throws her uppercut, knocking yet another soldier off the ramparts behind him! However, this opens her up to one of his follow mercs to use his gun as a club, and bring it down in a hard overhead strike aimed at the top of her head! Afterwards, he takes a minute to right his weapon before he can followup with another attack, his fellows still amazed at her leaping ability to attack right off.

Despite having a gun right in her face, Hinata suddenly seems to move with almost supernatural speed, just turning her head enough that the bullet does little more than graze the side of her cheek, the force of it passing by seeming to do nothing for a moment until a bruise begins to appear. It'll hurt, but it seems to get Hinata angry more than anything as whatever fatigue there was moments ago turns into determination.
"YOU DON'T GET TO TAKE CONTROL OF SOUTHTOWN LIKE THIS!" She shouts, still practically in the soldier's face as she suddenly drops down low to the ground, locking into position moments before her hand bursts into flames, her legs kicking her up off the ground as she aims to slam him right in the chin. "SHOUYOUKEN!"
That Yuri can attack, but she can also be attacked quite well too. She finds herself with a pounding headache after being caught off-guard by that attack. She finds herself seeing stars and the area seems to spin around a little as she struggles to regain her vision. When she regains it, she realizes that she's in the midst of several soldiers and needs to get out of there right away. Thinking quickly, Yuri takes a couple of steps backwards...
Then backflips into the air, and rights herself long enough to send forth a blast of chi from the air, before attempting to continue her backwards jump to the area behind her.

With a quick leap back, the soldier Hinata faces once again eludes her strike, her flaming fist mere inches from his wide-eyed face. Recovering his senses quickly, his head still attached to his shoulders, he moves in, attempting to grab a leg and twist her to the ground!
Yuri has better luck, as the man that struck her has only a moment to blink as she leaps into a backflip before he is struck dead-center by the chi-projectile she throws! One of his compatriots, however, has run to the larger machine gun near the spotlight, and turned it to face her, unloading on her despite orders to take alive in his panic! Hit or miss, the gun suddenly jams abruptly after he fires a burst from it!

It's a realtively decent attept to take advantage of an overextension, but in Hinata's current state, she seems to be incredibly on point, as soon as she reaches the peak of her arc, she does a mid-air flip backwards, landing out of his reach on both feet and dropping right back into fighting stance.
This time there's no words, she simply makes a charge right back at her target, refusing to let him dictate the pace of her fight. She has her fist drawn back behind her head as she comes in with all the force she can muster, aiming a Superman punch straight for his nose.
When the machine gun is fired, Yuri wastes no time in getting her personal force field up again. The energy catches the bullets and sends them flying back at the soldier. Whether or not they're real or rubber is irrelevant, because they're heading back at the soldier that fired them. "See how you like THAT!" Yuri yells out.

The merc who fired the M60 can only stare indisbelief as the same M60 AP rounds ventilate his torso. He sways a bit, then falls backwards off the fortification, dead before he hits the ground. The rest of his guys regain their wits, some of them firing on Hinata with their rubber rounds, the rest firing on Yuri, most of them in something of a panic at this point!
As for Hinata, she finally gets the better of the soldier that has given her so much trouble, the punch clocking him in the face, knocking him out cold.

Yuri's fatigue has caused her to drop to the ground and catch her breath... which happens just at the same moment the suppression fire comes at her. She watches with a smirk as the bullets fly over her head and she laughs before getting back onto her feet. She watches as Hinata punches one of the soldiers and gives her a thumbs up. "Nice one!" She calls out, before looking to the remaining soldiers. "And as for you fools, it's time to end this once and for all!"
Spotting a nearby object, Yuri attempts to spring off of it, ignoring her current state of fatigue, and deliver a flying kick to the soldier!
Bullets come flying in at Hinata, but they're scattershot, and she's still got enough of their allies on her side to make it a difficult choice to fire at her. She seems to gauge perfectly where to stand in the middle of the fray to go completely unharmed... it's also a lot harder to hit her the way she's suddenly charging in on the remains of the group she's been fighting with a impressive amount of speed, she leaps up into the air again and...
"HYAAA, HYAAA, HYAAA!"
In what certainly must count as an unusual tactic for her opponents, begins whipping her legs around, in the dark it looks for a moment like she's kicking at nothing, but that proves not to be the case as a flurry of sneakers comes flying it at the heads of all the remaining soldiers.

As yuri leaps with her flying kick, the soldier there really has no time to react, and just kinda stands there, the blow taking him in the head hard, but not knocking him out! Meanwhile, on the ground, Hinatas kicking attack has little effect as the soldiers there manage to defend themselves from her series of speedy kicks!
Both groups, however, hear Yuris taunt, and seemingly as one all turn and open up on her!
If their going to go down, their darn well gonna try to take someone with them!

Let's get to the point here: Yuri is lucky enough to reflect some of the incoming fire from the soldiers, but not all of them. She gets hit and finds herself in a world of trouble as she struggles to keep herself going. Nevertheless, despite the blood and bruises on her body, she manages to keep herself standing. "We can't give up!" She looks at Hinata. "We're gonna win this!"

"TAAAAAAAKE THIS!"

As before, the reflected shots strike their targets, knocking them cold, most of them from the top of the fortifications. Two of them fall from the height, one landing head-first with a loud CRACK of his neck! The defenses are cleared!
Hinatas opponents don't fare too well, either, though they make a valient stand! Their as good as gone, may as well try to take her with them! Both of them open up with their guns as she comes in, not even trying to dodge! Hit or miss, their fates are sealed! From above, however, one soldier is still barely conscious, and he aims his pistol and fires one last shot before passing out himself!

All around Hinata and Yuri are unconscious or dead mercenaries, along with a thick fog and smoke from the weapons fire.
Yuri manages to keep herself steady enough to avoid the incoming shot, and when she dodges it, she drops to the ground, gasping for air. Between that physical exercise and the injuries she sustained, Yuri is a bit tired out right now. But she finally catches her breath and gets back up onto her feet. Weakened but still strong in spirit, Yuri looks to Hinata and gives her a thumbs up and a weak grin.
"I knew we could do it, Hinata!" She says to her buddy.
In Hinata's current state, there's no chance that the scattered, beaten, broken soldiers have a chance to hit her. As they aim their guns, Hinata seems to focus momentarily, and the way she moves out of their line of fire, it's almost as if she was never there to begin with.
Guns fire until their magazines are empty, and Hinata is left standing no more worse for wear than she was halfway through the fight. There are a few bullet holes in her clothes, some gashes where she was grazed, the rather nasty bruise on her cheek, but despite it all, she looks like she could probably keep going. She's hardly even breathing hard.
Unlike normal, she didn't have an excited look on her face through the fight. It wasn't a fun match; these people had actually tried to kill her and Yuri. However, once she hears Yuri yell out, it's as if all of that disappears and a bright smile spreads out across her face as she turns back to the other girl and gives her the victory symbol with both hands. "They never stood a chance against Southtown, let alone Taiyo High!"
She quickly crosses the battlefield to her schoolmate and gives her a firm clap on the back. "Now let's bust down that barricade so everyone can get in here and we can put all these jerks under arrest... or whatever!"
Weakened as she may be, Yuri isn't about to ignore her classmate's request. "You're right, we have to do this!" Yuri takes a few deep breaths and blows them out, attempting to get herself back into her fighting spirit. Then she summons all of her chi and then attempts to race at the wall and deliver a flurry of machine-gun fast kicks! How ironic!

The kicks land home, and the fortifications begin to crack deeply.... but they still hold!
Hinata frowns as she looks at the wall standing up to all of that punishment and moves up next to Yuri, putting a hand on her shoulder. "This thing's pretty tough... but it's pretty beat up right there," she points to the cracks forming where Yuri had been going to down on it, "So if we combined both of our chi and hit it at the same time, I bet we could blow it right open."
With that said, Hinata turns, putting hands hands together between her and Yuri as she begins to summon her chi, a warm blue orb.
Weary and barely still standing, Yuri nonetheless nods to her buddy and stands up as well beside her friend. She takes a breath and attempts to summon her chi as well. "This is for everything those jerks have done!" Yuri calls out as she joins her chi with Hinata's and then prepares to launch in unison with her!
Between the two girls, the chi swirls into an evergrowing ball of energy, spreading out, stirring the wind around them as it builds up, larger than a basketball, up to the size of a massive beachball. Once built up into this massive orb of power, Hinata gives a quick nod to Yuri, and the two, in unison, shove their arms forward, launching the energetic assault into the already damaged wall.
"HYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

The duel-chi blast strikes the fortification, and finishes what had been started, sending pieces of bullet-proof plexiglass, metal, and other materials, along with the bodies of all the soldiers still unconscious on top of it, flying in all directions! Amazingly, those mercs subjected to this overall take reletively little harm as a result, with only two or three casualties!
Now, the way is clear!
Once the wall is destroyed, Yuri collapses again. She's gasping for air, feeling like she just ran a marathon... but she's smiling, knowing that she and Hinata succeeded together as a team!

Somehow, Hinata seems to still have it in her to leap up into the air as the wall comes crashing down. "We did it! Nobody messes with Taiyo High! Nobody messes with Southtown! Nobody messes with Japan, because if they do..." She punches her fist into an open palm. "We'll knock them down!"
With the barrier knocked down, the reinforcements make their way in. Checking on the two young resistance fighters before moving on to secure the mercenaries.
And the camera fades out...
