Description: The Kasagi gals meet up once more, Jira reveals her skills around the house and they discuss plans for the future. Cue dramatic music!
Looking for Jiro, Mimiru returned to Japn. Unfortunately, the trail she had been following turned to be a dead end and she got stuck with no more clues or other options to turn around. She knew her brother had returned to Japan, but she had no idea where he was...
The pink haired lass tried everything... But in the end, no way to find him. Then suddenly, something comes to her mind. One name... Jira Kasagi, her cousin. She had been with Jiro more than Mimiru has been the past weeks...
Luckily, Jira gave Mimiru a way to contact her the last time they met. She reaches out for her cellphone, browsing through her numbers. There she was. Mimiru sends her a SMS :
"Hey girl! What's up!? Still in Japan??? :D"
Finishing up her shopping at her favourite outlet to replace the gaps in her outfit, Jira is suddenly met by her current chauffeur. They give a curt bow and relay a message verbally, specifically for her. "Someone contacted us, there's nobody we know that would speak so familiarly to our organization. We assume the message is for you, "Hey girl! What's up!?, Still in Japan???" followed by a smiling face."
Oh man, did the guy actually say that out loud? That's just hilarious! She stifles a chuckle and fishes her earpiece out of her new vest, putting it into her left ear. "Hello, this is Jira. Can you patch a call back out to the number that SMS came from? Thank you." she says out after pushing the button on its side and making the connection.
Huh, no answer... Maybe Jira was busy. Or perhaps she had one of those old phone that couldn't receive SMS. Mimiru shrugs a bit to herself. She'll wait a bit before she actually tries again...
Fortunately for her, she receives a call before she has to try this out. Mimiru takes up her cell phone. Quick glance at the number and Mimiru can only guess it must be Jira returning her call.
"Hey! Jira! Got my message?" Mimiru asks with confidence in her voice. Hopefully she's not wrong with this!
She answered! "Yes, I got the message." she replies, stepping near the entrance of the outlet and leaning on the wall. "Next time you message like that, perhaps you should address it's for me. It'll save headaches. Anyway, yes I am in Japan... a lot of chi is gathered nearby, I'm uneasy.. what's up?"
"Oh?" Mimiru replies, "You're sharing the number with someone or something?" Mimiru asks. She shakes her head, "Anyway... I've been roaming in Japan, keeping a low profile with everything that's been going on. You hanging in there? Perhaps we could meet up somewhere?"
Jira gives an noncomital "Kinda." in reply to shared number. "It's complicated." sums it up suitably. "Yeah, I've been trying to keep my head low, but.. my partner's nagging at me for something I don't quite understand yet. Is there anywhere in particular you want to meet up? I'm in Yokohama. We could do something together, I still owe you a trip."
Mimiru can't help but chuckle at Jira's answer. It's complicated. Sounds like some mixed up relationship that's going nowhere. She doesn't press the matter, but she seems obviously amused. "Sure, we can meet up somewhere there.. At best I could be there in maybe... Two hours or so. Treat me to something?" Mimiru suggests.
"Yeah, I'll have a seat open for you. I'll have the address texted to you once I arrive. Or, if it's not open, I'll have to show you my signature dish!" she replies cheerily. "Sound goood?"
"Sounds perfect, I love those kind of things," Mimiru says. Everything was set up, "See you in a few then," Mimiru says. Time to roll out for Mimiru!
And so, Jira sets out with her chauffer, into the limousine and driving off throughh the ashen streets to a local restaurant. Pulling up to the front and peering in.. she frowns, nobody in there! Plan two it is. She drives out to where she's currently staying and has the address and room number SMS'd to Mimiru's number as she rushes up to her penthouse flat. She switches into her home clothes briskly and mans the kitchen, starting up on her specialty.
Change of plans it would seem. At least, when Mimiru receives the address, she vaguely remembers it. Back at Jira's place? No fancy food for today. Mimiru makes her way over to Jira's place using her good old and only mean of transportation. Her rollerblades. Thankfully, Mimiru was quite fast on rollerblades and she was able to make it to her place in about two hours or so, leaving Jira plenty of time to take care of everything.
Mimiru finally knocks at the door once she arrives, rollerblades in hands, her hands sweeping her legs and jacket to try and knock off some dust and ash from her.
Definately enough time to raid her own fridge and make up a nice meal for her cousin. Jira bounds quickly to the door and opens it. "Mimiru, please come in~" she calls with a smile, stepping from the doorframe and giving a welcoming bow.
"So, I set up the table. It's all ready for us. My best dish." she muses. Jira's appearance is similar to last time, except she's more energetic.. and her hair is now lacking that deep black it's always had. It's been drained to a wispy, white colour.
Mimiru smiles to Jira and she takes a step in, holding her rollerblades in one hand. She puts them beside the door and greets Jira with a warming smile, "Hello, Jira..."
"You seem to be doing well," The girl comments at Jira's enthusiasm, "What happened to your hair? Decided to change your color?" Mimiru asks, amused. "Suits you well... Gives you an idea what you'll look like when you'll be older," Mimiru teases.
Jira maintains her smile, all until her hair is mentioned. "Stress.. I got whacked something fierce in france, the colour drained out of my hair. Then Daniel went after me in America before I took the flight back to Yokohama." she murmurs. It's been rough.
The woman quickly brightens up. "So, are you ready to eat? We can talk about things during, or after. I wouldn't want to spoil the mood!"
Mimiru arches a brow and she leans a bit further, "Oh?" She asks, obviously curious about all she has to say. "The stress did that or when you got whacked?" Mimiru smiles and she nods to Jira, "Sure, let's eat... We can talk while we eat, I can't wait to see what's your special dish,"
Mimiru beams and Mimiru makes her way into the kitchen / dining room. She sits down on a chair, "Want to talk about it?" Mimiru asks, concerning the previous accidents she had.
Jira sets herself down in the seat opposite of Mimiru on the smaller table. Set up on the table is a decent spread- an orange glazed lobster, shell pried open for easy pickings at the meat atop a bed of steamed kelp and shrimp. A dish of seasoned and fried rice with small, breaded pieces of reddish-glaze chicken sits next to the lobster and salad.
"My specialty~" she chimes. "Please, help yourself first."
Mimiru tilts her head to one side and her smile widens a bit, "You're really treating me today," Mimiru says. Lobster was something expensive, after all. Mimiru was luckily.
Once she settles down, Mimiru rubs her hands and licks her lips, "There's... A lot to pick from.." Mimiru takes her plate and she helps herself, picking some of the fried rice and chicken, along with the salad. She takes small portion of all the dishes, to make sure she'll be able to taste a bit of everything. She'll serve some more if need be.
"Thanks Jira.. I mean, for all of this. My call my have been quite sudden and all, glad you were free."
She gives a very content smile, glad that her company is appreciating the offered dinner. Jira plucks up some lobster and salad, then a small amount of rice. She quietly picks up her plate and starts with her favourite- the lobster!
When her mouth is clear, she looks up. "Yeah, I got beat up something fierce in France, with Jiro. I kind of forced a quick recovery, it took a toll." she murmurs in reply.
"Really?" Mimiru says, sounding surprised, "You can do something like that...?" She adds. Mimiru frowns and glances up at Jira's hair, "And... That's the reason your hair became white? 'cause you... 'forced' yourself to recover?" Mimiru asks.
Mimiru takes a small pause to take her first bites. She tastes the food individually, taking the time to savour the seasoning of Jira's dishes. "Did... Jiro manage to get you out of this?" She asks.
Jira nods. "A little trick my partner taught me. Jiro was up and was already off by the time I regained consciousness from the beating we took, I had to kick it into high gear just to keep up." she explains. "We booked a place to eat dinner and crash, then seperated the next morning." another few bites and a content humm. The lobster is savoury, and has a sweetness from the orange, and hint of spice. The chicken is glazed in a generic spicy general tso sauce. The rice is rather plain, save for the slightly gilded colour and smooth texture that is only truly appreciated with the chicken in the morsel. The salad is a wonderful, moist kelp with shrimp teasingly swimming in the green tide.
Mimiru slowly nods her head, "Partner? You mean your sensei?" She asks. Mimiru takes another bite, this time going for the lobster and salad with the shrimps. She's eating a bit more slowly than Jira. She wanted to take her time to taste it and tease her senses.
Mimiru hums thoughtfully, "I see..." She bites her lips and keeps her gaze into the dish in front of her, "Did he say where he was going...?" Mimiru asks.
She shakes her head negatively. "No, my partner. My sensei's been teaching me other things." she replies. It's a half lie on the second part, she hasn't learned much from them recently. "Maybe I'll give you two an introduction later, but I want to know how you like my specialty." with a smile she continues on eating, keeping a rather quiet eye on her cousin, waiting for her appraisal to come in.
Mimiru blinks a moment, as if surprised by the question, "Oh! It's delicious," She replies with a wide grin. She glances down at the food and the nback at Jira, "I haven't eaten seafood in quite a while. It's a nice change. Not really their speciality in Europe and America," Mimiru says. She takes another bite and grins, teasingly adding, "You'll make a perfect housewife when will come the time to carry on the Kasagi lineage,"
Jira pauses a moment, frozen in place. She did want that, when did she forget that goal.. Her eyes shine brightly and shimmer, like glowing halos of pink liquid. "I'm definately suited for that." she remarks, 'animating' again and taking another bite. Then she hums. "I went to america briefly, about seven hours. When I touched down, Detective Little found me and started.. acting strange, attacking me and my partner. We eventually talked him out of continuing the fight when the storm tore apart the front of the airport, I had to wait until another plane was available. He mentioned things that I want to talk about. And give Jiro a good punch for."
Mimiru smiles to Jira. For a moment, she seems to forget what she came here for as she teases her cousin. She takes another bite of her dish, "Better than I am.. I..." Mimiru turns her eyes away and she says, "I can't really picture myself with a family..."
Mimiru arches a brow and she turns her attention back to Jira. Right, Daniel... "What did he say?" Mimiru asks, her expression turning suddenly a bit more serious.
Jira shrugs. "It's more how you carry yourself, and finding someone that'll give you the space you need to be happy with them." she murmurs, mainly to herself. "Daniel mentioned something about me being psychic and some kind of seductress, making Jiro pick me over you or something. The only part that really mattered was hearing that whatever Jiro did made you cry." she replies. "I can't let my older cousin cry and have the one responsible get away without a thwacking!" she says, with determination, clenching her hashi tight. "So, I'm gonna give Jiro a punch, next time I see him!"
Mimiru stares at Jira, befundled a bit by her reaction, mouth agap. Fortunately, she had finished her last bite. Her lips curl into a warm smile as she seems to snap out of her confusion. Mimiru tilts her head to one side and she replies, "It's... Complicated," Her intonation is soft and gentle.
She lowers her gaze and shakes her head, "Thank you for your concern, Jira but... That won't solve anything," Mimiru answers. She has a soft chuckle and adds, "If I've learned anything from Jiro, it'll just make matters worse. I need to talk to him and straighten things out,"
Jira gives a hearty chuckle and sets her plate down. "Yes, that's the best time to do it. Once he's sane and been talked to. You set it in with a healthy plate of fist. Or maybe a hug? I guess it depends on if he earns a punch or not by then." she murmurs. "But, I fully intend to help you out with this situation, however I can, Mimiru-chan." giving her cousin a warm smile and a friendly wink.
Her cousin's behaviour causes Mimiru's smile to brighten a bit. "Maybe," She replies. Though by her intonation, she's obviously not considering her option. Mimiru nods to Jira and says, "Thank you, Jira.. I really appreciate it," She says, "For now, all I want is to find Jiro, and then I..." She turns her gaze away and lets her words trail off. Just like before, she didn't really have a plan after that...
Jira offers a reassuring look. "You get him to take a walk with you, and talk about whatever the issue is." she says. "That's the best starting point, I'd think. We're family, Mimiru. I can't think of any reason I would not help you." and sets her hashi to rest.
Mimiru gives her cousin a nod, "You're right but..." Mimiru bites her lips and she says, "It's never really been that easy with Kasagis," Mimiru chuckles softly at the thought and heaves a soft sigh, "As for what Daniel said..." Mimiru adds, "I don't think you're a seductress or did anything to Jiro," Just to make things clear. Mimiru smiles and adds, "I'm glad you were there for him when I wasn't.."
She gives a shrug. "Like I said, you're both family. I will help however I can. If you need anything, please ask." her left hand comes up and pulls a stray hair from her eye before it causes a disaster. "Is there anything more I can offer you, Mimiru-chan?"
Mimiru grins and nods to Jira. "You're right.." She hums softly at the offer and glances around, "No, no, I'm fine, the meal is great!" Mimiru's not quite finished though so she speeds up a bit. She turns her eyes away, lost in her thought for a moment.
After a few seconds, she chuckles and says, "And you... What will you do?" She asks. Mimiru shrugs and says, "I mean.. It feels like it's the end of the world, even here in Japan with all that happened... It makes me feel like my pitty struggles with Jiro are quite vain,"
Jira hums. "My partner wants me to do something markedly risky. I think I'm going to call in a few favours with friends and make a move. It's something I have to do, and my chances to succeed alone are. Not very good." she mentions. "Meanwhile, I am free and willing to help in all business regarding our family, Mimiru. Remember that." and beams a smile. "I told you, it's my signature dish~"
"It is really good," Mimiru concurs, taking another bite, taking her time to finish what's left in her plate. "I hope everything will go well for you. If I could have helped, I would have, but I already have my hands full with my own affairs," Mimiru explains. "I..." She smiles and says, "It's family business, mostly... If you ever know where Jiro is, just send me a message or something, I... Don't really need much more help than that,"
She seems to be glowing with the praise. "I haven't made it for anyone else before, and I hope you can fit dessert." she replies in a cheery, almost singsong tune. "And I could look into where Jiro is, and maybe even have him brought here. Maybe?" she offers.
Mimiru blinks and she shakes her hands, "Oh, no.. Maybe not here..." She bites her lips and says, "But... If you manage to contact him and manage to find a way so we could both meet, that would be great..." Mimiru says. She hums softly and adds, "... Without mentioning me,"
She grins at the mention of dessert and Mimiru says, "I think I could take a bit more... What is it?"
Jira nods, right. Secret meeting, no hinting about Mimiru. She hops up from the table and excuses herself a moment, into the fridge and nodding excitedly. She pulls out a cozy, lidded platter and sets it on the table. Then she opens it up- Cheesecake! "Green tea cheesecake." she informs in a dreamy tone. "I can put out some mint mousse as a topping, if you want." she offers.
Moistening her lips in delight, Mimiru rubs her hands, "Hum, that sounds lovely!" She grins and nods, "Why not? If it's not too much trouble, I don't mind," Mimiru says. She tilts her head to one side and asks, "Want me to help with the dishes after?"
With a grin, Jira retreats back to the fridge and returns with an unmarked plastic tub filled with a light-green substance, similar in colour to the cake, and a spoon. "No need to help with the dishes, I'll need something to do after you leave. Wife practice." she teases, giving a healthy amount of the mousse to half of the cake with the spoon and patting it over the top evenly, then setting the tub down as well. "Just in case you decide you'd like it better without, I'll leave half plain."
Mimiru tilts her head backward and laughs, "Ahah, right..." Mimiru grins and she takes her spoon. Mimiru waits for Jira to join her before she actually starts eating up the dessert, "Bon apetit," Mimiru says, before she takes a slice of the cheescake along with some mousse and tastes it up.
Jira chuckles lightly and takes her seat, carving up a slice for herself and adding it to her cleared plate. She takes small, leisurely bites that she obviously enjoys. Best dish, and favourite dessert. And her guest enjoys it too, it seems. An amazing day.
An amazing day indeed. Mimiru potentially has a chance to meet up with her brother. Jira was her best hope for this. She enjoys the dessert, taking her time to savour her share. "I think I should get going," Mimiru says, "It was fun spending time with you.. I wish it would have been under different circumstances though.."
Jira gives a slow, sad nod. "Well, I would want to keep you over for a movie or something. I haven't done any hanging like that since highschool." and chuckles. "I think they just wanted to come over because of my chest, I think that kind of defined my school experience. And why I got my vests." she does give an incline of her head to Mimiru. "Well, if you must go, I won't stop you."
The world might be coming apart, Japan falling down and collapsing on themselves but they were going to watch movies. A girl's got to relax, doesn't she? Mimiru smiles at Jira and she replies, "Sure, I... It's been a long time since I did that to," Mimiru says, as she tries to remember, "A sort of pyjama party... Like when we were younger, I suppose..." Mimiru hums softly and pats her lips thoughtfully.
"I can't stay right now but... I'll make a deal with you," Mimiru offers, "If you can manage to find Jiro for me and get him somewhere so I can talk to him, I'll stay over for a whole night and we'll do girlie things like watch a movie, pillow fights and stuff," Mimiru says with a bright smile.
She tilts her head at Mimi's pause, then smiles and nods at the first statement, but seems uncertain.. her pyjama state is best left unsaid. Ooh, a deal! Jira nods and listens. "Sure, sounds like a fun night to be had. Maybe we can invite Jiro and give him a makeover as well. I think he'd benefit from his feminine side." she teases. "A date it is!"
Oh boy. Mimiru can't help but smile at Jira, but her eye glint a bit at the thought. Sounds like some evil schemes young Mimiru might have pulled off... Alas, there was no laughing matter with this Jiro and Mimiru wouldn't risk it, "If you can convince him, why not..." Mimiru simply says with a shrug. Any time spent with Jiro would be quality time, no matter what they'd do...
Mimiru rises from her seat and she nods, "Great," She grins at Jira, "If you can do that, I'll let you organize whatever you want for me and I'll join in," Mimiru says. She bows her head gently and says, "Sorry I can't stay but... It was a great dinner, thanks. It was delicious," She licks her lips and adds' "Take care of yourself.."
Jira smiles at her cousin. "I might be able to." and nods understandingly. "I'll certainly try to, but in our family that's rather hard." she teases, standing up as well. "Keep me posted, Mimiru." and offeringly motions to the exit.
Mimiru's lips curl into a weak smile, "Huh, yeah... Seems like I'm the best for it recently and that says a lot..." Mimiru shakes her head and gives a wave to Jira, going back to take her rollerblades. Though before she leaves, she leans in to give Jira a good bye hug with a pat on the back.
Jira reciprocates the hug and sighs. "You're the best, Mimiru." she murmurs in reply. "See you later, alright? You know how to contact me, just ask for me by name."
