Description: During her stay in Japan, Mimiru receives a special offer for what appears to be a shady delivery. The least question asked, the better! At least, the pay is good!
"Yes, that is fine. I'm waiting for a contact, then i shall be off. No, it won't be a problem. Good day to you, sir".
Mr.Burr ends the call, putting the cellphone on the desk in front of him. He is currently seated in a cushy chair at a reasonable-sized desk, the office located on the ground floor of a simple 2-story building in Tokyo. Strangely, the building is empty, despite the doors being unlocked. However, he has an appointment, and he is loathe to miss such things. Gazing out the window at the people walking back and forth outside on their errands, he waits patiently, cane laid out across his lap.
Mimiru definately made a good decision by coming to Japan for a few weeks. She had plenty of job and no time to rest. With all the natural disasters, she had been doing errands non-stop for medical supplies and other supplies. Her workphone constantly buzzing with new address and requests for her to follow up.
Mimiru was one of their best agent on the field. Efficient, fast and she was an expert on their more 'dangerous' packages. The girl was on her way to the next address, blissfully unaware of what she had to deliver. The only thing she knew was the client's name, as she should.
She looks up at the information on her phone, and then up at the building. This was the place. Mimiru rolls foward, still wearing her rollerblade (it went faster that way). She opens the front door and strides in, "Huum, hello?" Mimiru asks as she makes her way in, not seeing anyone at first, no secretary or anything.
Mimiru looks at the phone. She had a room number on it. Mimiru shrugs. Oh well, she's seen much worse than an empty building before in her life. She takes a moment to take off her rollerblade in the hall and makes her way to the office room.
Knock-knocks.
Mimiru comes in shortly afterward.
Aahh. The knock! As Mimiru comes in, Burr turns his chair around to face her with a smile "Aahh, hello there my dear. Please, come in! Have a seat!". He motions to the chair across the desk from himself "Judging by the picture i recieved, i take it you would be the courier is sent for?" His eyes have a piecing gaze, almost like he is sizing up prey, but his smile is suprisingly warm in contrast.
Those kind of jobs always made Mimiru nervous. You never knew what would come out of them and she was one of the few who was competent enough to take on them.
She enjoyed that thrill and excitment.
Mimiru's lips curl into a smile and she bows respectfully to the man, "Yes. Mimiru Kasagi, express courier, at your service Mr. Burr," Mimiru says. Her outfits made her look quite casual, if it wasn't for the pink hair she has.
She nods and walks further in the room. She unfastens her backpack before sitting at the chair in front of his desk and puts her backpack beside the chair.
Burr continues as she sits down "Allow me to compliment your manners, my lady. So few seem to know how to knock nowadays, particularly among todays youth". He leans forwards in the chair, putting his weight on his cane "While i am sure your employers mentioned this, please allow me to reinforce the urgency of both time and discretion in the handling of my package, Miss Kasagi".
He reaches into his jacket, and pulls out a small box with a black ribbon tied tightly around it. She will find it is very light. He also offers her a piece of paper with an address, a room number, and a time of roughly 26 hours from current clock time "The job is rather simple. Simply see to it that that box reaches that location by the listed hour unharmed"
Mimiru's lips curl into a smile and she accepts the compliment with a nod, "Thank you," She simply replies. Her expression becomes slightly stern when they talk about business and she adds, "That's why I was chosen for this, have no fear. Your package will be in good hands,"
Mimiru leans over to reach out for the piece of paper and the small box. The distance was short from here and Mimiru's mobility might allow her to get it there probably within two hours if everything goes well.
"It will be there in three hours maximum," Mimiru says, "In the same condition you've given it to me," She adds. She tilts her head to one side, ready to leave, but before she does so, she asks, "Is there anything else?"
For that kind of job, the least questions the courier asked, the better it was for everyone. Mimiru had done enough job to know it.
"Nothing of any consequence, i assure you". He tips his hat to her "My thanks for your assistance in these difficult times, m'lady. I will see to it that, in addition to the agreed upon fee, a generous tip is included for you alone should all go well. After all, good help IS hard to find nowadays".
Burr puts his hat back on his head "Is there any other essential information you require? If not, our buisness is concluded here". He stands, and adjusts his tie, his piercing gaze locking her own.
Mimiru rises up from her chair and she bows her head respectfully, "Very well then," Her smile seems to brighten a bit at the mention of the generous tip, "You won't be disappointed," She answers. She shakes her head and says, "No. This is all I need to know to do my job. Have a good day, sir,"
She turns on her heels and takes her backpack and makes her way out of Mr.Burr's office. He certainly was a gentleman, polite and courteous. She glances down at the box and wonders what's in it...
An engagement ring? Maybe a cut finger?
This man had the class to be a member of the Yakuza, but he didn't seem Japanese so...
Mimiru shrugs to herself. Better not think about it too much! She leaves and places the small box in a special compartment in her packback and takes her rollerblade out. Time for an exciting express delivery!
As Mimiru leaves, Burr picks up the phone, dials, and puts to his ear. "The package is sent. Give the lass a nice cash bonus should she bring it intact. That's all. Cheerio".
Burrs warm smile suddenly becomes a very dark smile. Peering under the desk, he watches the unconscious man therein for a moment before standing back up again. "My thanks for the use of your building, your office, and your phone, my good sir. I do hope the headache that will come with your return to consciousness is brief for how potent it will likely be".
With that, he strolls out of the otherwise empty building with a dignified air, his expression calm and friendly once more.
