Daniel - Mistress Todoh's Nighttime Visit

Description: Daniel Jack is a private dick who is working hard through the night on important business to save the world. But what happens when femme fatale and long-time coworker Kasumi Todoh comes by to give him a little bit of the Todoh-Ryuu Kobojutsu encouragement? Lets see how well Daniel can keep his mind on the game, and not in the gutter!

Gedo territory isn't always the safest place to be. Even more so when it is getting on to be the later parts of the evening. Daigo and his group tend to keep most people in line, but there are always the ruffians looking at rebelling against their leader or just outright want to cause trouble. Grown men could be considered foolish for walking alone on Gedo Street. For a teenage girl who isn't named Akira to be walking the streets at this time? The danger would be considerably larger. So it is no surprise that there is some commotion going on outside of the apartment complex that Daniel lives in. Nothing is too unusual about that so it could be something he wouldn't pay too much attention.

In this case it wasn't the tresspasser that was in danger, but the Gedo students that decided to rile up a rather diminutive young woman that wasn't in the mood to play around. Even more so when the playing around part involved a lewd comment or ten. When things settle down three different trashcans have a Gedo student's legs sticking out of them and those that didn't fit there all ended up neatly tossed into a dumpster. Things go quiet once more and the night looks like it might just be a peaceful one afterall.

It is about five minutes later when footsteps can be heard in the hallway and there is a knock on the door leading to Daniel's apartment. Nothing is said and if the door isn't answered the knock becomes louder and continues to do so every few minutes up until the point Daniel answers. Of course if he isn't home the door might finally shatter since the knocker doesn't seem to know when to ease up.

Gedo Street was nice enough if you were a local.
%Daniel has been a local to Gedo Street for a while. The street had it's faults. The street had it's strengths. But the street wouldn't show it's true colors unless you were a proper local. Not of Southtown, but of Gedo Street. Enough to know that you shout at the hoodlum in public, and thank them in private. They had their reputations to keep, almost as much as the peace. Daniel had worked long and hard to earn the begrudging mutual respect of the Gedo High students.

But those thumped kids were the least of his concerns now.

The detective was up in his apartment flat. The apartment had seen cleaner days.... before Daniel moved in. Empty bottles of whiskey litter the place, mixed with pizza boxes, partially full boxes of Chinese food, and suspiciously shaking food containers. laundry is spread out to dry across the room, while the sink is divided between clothing to wash, and a pile of dirty dishes to wash with the laundry. Daniel didn't have time for housekeeping. He was pouring over books, trying to learn about the mysterious Sacred Treasures of Todoh-Ryu. He found some worthless information about some snake god, but not the most important thing. The true treasures of power.

And he wouldn't find it if he kept hearing that knocking.

Growling, he stands up from the mildewy couch, placing the book down on a cushion beside him. Dressed in slacks, a white muscle shirt, and overalls, the detective walks towards the door in a stagger. He still was working off that last handle of whiskey, and heaven help him that one of those sweet Gedo street kids decided to play some pranks with him. Making sure the latches are in place, he finally unlocks the deadbolt, and opens the door a crack. Slurring out, he peeks through the door. "What the hell do you want scuz-"

And his eyes bug out.

"-KASUMI-"

"MISTR-MASTER KASUMI. SENPAI"

Daniel Jack sputters. He chokes. And finally, he swallows. "Senpai!' He decides on, looking over Kasumi and swallowing hard again. "I, uh. Why are you here? I mean, how can I help you! I mean, uh, I thought I told it was dangerous to come over here! I mean-" Daniel's eyes goes even wider. What was today. Which boys were on the stoop. WHICH BOYS WERE ON THE STOOP. "Oh, wait. Oh no."

"Please tell me you didn't kill them."

That isn't a happy looking face at all. Kasumi has a nice smile, but times like this she rarely has a reason to show it. Her brow is twitching slightly and her jacket is only slightly mussed up and her hair mostly still in place. A foot is tapping and she has her hands jammed in the pockets of her jacket. "Friends of yours?" she asks and she doesn't say anything if she killed them or not. Daniel should know that answer well enough. She isn't against roughing people up, but it would take quite a bit to make her actually do more than that. She wouldn't even do such a thing to a Sakazaki and that is saying quite a bit.

She doesn't wait to be invited in, but instead opts to move past Daniel and take a look around. She hasn't been to the apartment before and she is starting to regret her decision to come to such a place now that she has seen it. "Forget something tonight?" She asks before turning back around to look towards Daniel once more. "Something that involves me having to miss my movie night to train students on my rare night off?" She can handle her father off wandering about and forgetting about lessons. She has dealt that for years at this point. What she doesn't need is now for the one other teacher to start ducking out and missing sessions too.

*SNAP*

The noise of the latches being pulled off the door comes as Kasumi bursts into the room. Daniel stumbles back, face hot. Kasumi forces her way about 5 feet inside the room, before she reaches the edge of the sea of debris. It seems the only thing keeping the flies in check... were the long tendrils of fly paper hanging from the ceiling. One of the containers seems to be shaking towards her. Daniel Jack wasn't actually, you know, expecting company. Except maybe those boys. Those poor boys. Well, Kasumi probably didn't kill them.

Probably.

Putting a hand on his head, any attempt at standing up to Kasumi yielded to sheer embarrassment. "I'm so sorry about the place, Senpai! I didn't know you were coming over! I mean, those kids aren't friends per say, but they keep the real troublemakers away. They can be a little rough-" Daniel is sharply interrupted by Kasumi's vague hint. About forgetting something. About Kasumi missing a movie.

Forget something.

The training.

Daniel's entire body tenses up. His eyes bulge. His tongue lolls out. "Please Mistre- Senpai! Forgive me! Please forgive me!" Daniel sputters spastically as his paralysis is broken. Throwing himself into the sea of garbage, he brings himself at Kasumi's feet, falling to his knees. Clasping his hands, he looks up pleading to her. "Please! Please forgive me! I didn't properly forget, I chose not to show up! I thought I was cleared! I thought Master Todoh told you!" Daniel Jack suddenly balls up a noble fist, eyes shining now with an inner flame. Rattling that fist, he stays on his knees right before Kasumi's grace.

"I'm going to save Southtown!"

It seemed she did jog his memory properly. The result she gets is something a bit over the top. A proper apology is all she expected. Instead she takes a step back in part to avoid Daniel and in part to avoid the fly paper that seems to get increasingly closer to her with each sway. She lets out a sigh and pinches her nose while closing her eyes. "Daniel, get up." she urges him and she pulls her hand away while reopening her eyes. She regrets that because she ends up just staring at the mess of an apartment once more.

"Wait.....my father?" Suddenly things are starting to make sense. Daniel as the last one to see Todoh before he decided to go off and....and do whatever he was planning to do this time around. If he did tell Daniel it was okay to skip out on training without clearing it with her as well then he will need a stern talking to as well. "Just don't do it again without proper notice. I was planning on watching Dream Warriors tonight!" Going to the theater to watch a blockbuster? Nope, it sounds about right that she is upset about missing a movie she has probably seen a few dozen times while sitting on the couch in sweatpants and munching popcorn.

It takes a few moments longer before that last part registers with her too. "Save Southtown?" What did her father tell him THIS time? "What are you saving it from what?" She knows she is going to regret asking that. This sounds like it is going to be some some sort of convoluted plan that would only make sense in the mind of her father and leave it to Daniel to believe what he had to say. As great as Todoh is she has learned through the past few years that the stories she enjoyed as a kid are just that, stories. Nothing to be believed. "Is this about ghosts in Seijyun High? Or is it the sewer monsters near The Dunk Pond?" she asks while trying to think of all the strange things Todoh could have said.

Daniel Jack was on a very important mission.

"Don't worry, Senpai!" The student of Todoh bursts, rising up on command. But the epic fist does not unfold. Shaking that fist, he looks into Kasumi with all too familiar eyes. Ryuhaku eyes. Daniel Jack had a bad tendency to take after Kasumi's father. "I will not do it again! But it was very important! Here, let me explain everything." Daniel Jack charges through the garbage across the floor, the clinking of whiskey bottles barking in the room. Daniel points to the couch. "Have a seat Kasumi! I promise you, you won't be disappointed!"

Though current evidence proved otherwise.

As Daniel works towards his kitchenette area, he opens the door to the refridgerator. "Can I get you anything? Potatoes? Cabbage? Whiskey?!" Daniel Jack pulls out a large medical bag of blood from the fridge, placing it on the counter. "Anyways! Do you remember that awful crab grass on the lawn? A real humdinger, I tried to give it the Real Six, but it never took till Zach and I pulled the real Kasane Ate on it! That got rid of it, but something happened! It got loose in the city, and of all places, you won't believe where it started!" Daniel pulls out a coffee pot filled with Whiskey from the fridge.

"Right in the Kyokugen Dojo!"

Kasumi is very skeptic to say the least. She gingerly starts to move towards the couch, but she makes it a few steps before it dawns on her that it will take grace and agility to avoid the clutter scattered across the floor of the apartment. She will have to be very careful about everything. "Kasane!" or she could do something very unreasonable. "ATE!"

Whiskey bottles and other debris are incinerated and other bits fly away from the path of released energy that Kasumi flings to clean things up. At least she is more careful about her trajectory and other things to keep the floor or walls from being blasted about. All in all she now has a clean path to the couch where she pauses and takes a moment to flip a cushion about before settling down on it. "No, I think I am fine." She murmurs when she is offered something from the fridge. Given what he is pulling out from it that is a great idea.

She listens to what he has to say and she can't help but still glance around the place. She is pretty sure she saw a cup with a note that said 'Angry Bug, do not pick up' near where a large hole in said cup was. "Crab grass? I didn't think it was that big of a deal." In fact she thought it was gone. Something simple that should have been left to a landscaper or the like, but everyone else insisted on getting rid of it themselves. Then he has to go mention the Kyokugen Dojo. Suddenly there is a glint in Kasumi's eyes as she straightens up. "Sakazakis....." she murmurs. "Was it Ryo? I bet it was Ryo. He is nothing but trouble."

Daniel's arms shoot up.

As Kasumi's calls out the ultimate technique of Todoh-Ryuu Kobojutsu, Daniel Jack instinctively follows the command, his senpai calling out the attack. Hands up, he pours the coffee pot of whiskey all over his head, hands burning with chi energy..... and then, it winks out, Daniel's eyes returning to focus. The garbage begins to burn and smolder, while the cleared path reveals.... that there isn't actually a carpet in the house. As the hair and dust bunnies are cleared away, the moldy patches of the floor underneath is revealed. The detective blinks, covered in cold whiskey.

The awkward is broken as he clears his throat.

Placing the coffee pot by the somewhat leaky bag of blood, he replaces the blood back in the fridge. "Now, Master Todoh and I tried to keep it from you, but that was some seriously nasty crab grass! Course, yardwork isn't a lady's job, it's a man job, so that's we didn't want to bother you on it! You had to focus on your Seijyun High stuff!" As if further instinct, Daniel begins to wipe up the counter with a dirty shirt. Oddly enough, of the all the clothing being cleaned, none of it was actually his signature orange zoot suit ensemble. It was all grubby sweats, old slacks... and gis.

Like for Todoh-Ryuu training.

As he wipes the counter with the old gi, the detective continues. "Anyways, sweetheart, It is a bit more complex than that! Senpai. I meant Senpai." Daniel seem to be getting sweat on his brow. "I've been investigating around for some suspicious stuff at the dojo; the place has the same crab grass we had, but I don't think the Sakazaki's are directly responsible. For it showing up there, you dig? Bet you a buttered biscuit they ain't going to be setting us up real clean like though."

Daniel Jack pauses.

"What I meant to say is that the Kyokugen Dojo didn't get the crab grass out of malice, but certainly aren't going to help us." The detective holds up the gi, and throws it in the sink. Taking the coffee pot, he puts it in a coffee machine very likely not made in this century. As he fiddles with it, he continues to belt out to the young Todoh. "But there is one big suspect! While I was poking around, and after I insulted Yuri in her face, I found a business card. Real strange like, very familiar name. They must have come by the Kyokuen Dojo, and with a little checking, I believe they are currently working there. Himaruya Landscaping." Daniel pauses his words to let it sink in, as he finishes setting up the coffee pot, and walking back in the living room area.

"The same company that Todoh used to hire for -our- lawn."

Did he just.......

It looks like Daniel gets away with calling Kasumi a sweetheart just this once. Usually he finds himself quickly on his back with a foot coming down to stomp on his face. It seems right now she is more intent to see what Daniel has to say at the moment. She still seems skeptic, but the mention of Kyokugen probably helped in keeping her attention and thus keeping Daniel from getting a proper Todoh style punishment for wasting her time on top of missing out on his training session for the evening.

"So we have incompetent landscapers that the Sakazaki family was dumb enough to hire too." she finally says and starts to lean back on the couch, but decides against it and she quickly sits back up straight. "You are a disciple of Todoh-ryuu, not a lawn care specialist. Why are you so worried about it." While Todoh might understand how severe things are at the moment Kasumi does not apparently understand how bad things really are.

"I am sure you and father are worried about the lawn, but this doesn't really mean you can slack off from your teaching duties if you ask me." She says and folds her arms. "Father has you on a wild goose chase and there are more important things." It pains her to say that, but she has fallen victim to such things many a times. Sometimes it just takes the right words and her common sense goes right out the window and she is off galavanting on a wild quest herself. Or at least she was that way when she was younger. She wouldn't do something like that nowadays. Not at all.

Daniel Jack tries so hard to not do his detective slang around the Todoh.

Especially Kasumi.

Kasumi taught him fast that sweetheart and dame were very bad nicknames. Very quickly. One time it actually broke his arm. Kasumi was NOT sorry. Possibly. So when he gets away with the sweetheart slip, Daniel accepts that miracle fullheartedly. But Daniel Jack seems to be pushing his luck. As Kasumi belittles the scope of the crab grass, the detective says the words that will almost certainly lead him into a beatdown.

"No, no, Kasumi, you are wrong!"

Daniel Jack approaches the beseated Kasumi, crossing his arms as his male mentor has so often before. "That crab grass already has taken over the surrounding forest. I am almost certain that it ate Marco, along with the government agents that were with him! This is no ordinary crab grass! This crab grass will not be stopped by herbicides, or fire, or even pulling it up by the roots! If you salt the earth, this will grow tenfold! It is an unstoppable weed that will threaten to cause an ecological disaster in Southtown!" Daniel balls up a fist and shakes it, staring into the heavens (or a nearby flytrap).

"And only Todoh-Ryuu can stop it!"

Building into a more and more wild passion, Daniel Jack decides words are not enough. The detective reaches out to his senpai's shoulders, attempting to not only grab her, but shake her once! Possibly to shake sense into her! And with it, he speaks with a wild-eyed frenzy all too familiar to the Todoh gamily.

"And that is why I must find the Three Sacred Treasures of Todoh!"

The firey gaze of the Todoh clan only really burns in one person beyond the family itself in all reality. Daniel has almost become a member of the family in a way. Maybe because he is the one man that really sees the world the same way Kasumi's father does. It is a bit of a blessing and a curse. It is good that her father found a kindred spirit beyond her, but at the same time it means Kasumi has not one, but two rather eccentric males she has to keep track of.

Hands come up to grasp the arms of Daniel when he starts to shake her. A firm grip given her size and she narrows her eyes a bit. She has done her best to give Daniel a chance to talk and not chide him too much, but now he might have pressed his luck too much. He probably jus thit the square that had a Whammy." She keeps the grip firm, but doesn't do anything like attempt to launch him across the room. "Lesson four hundred and twenty-seven." After saying that she lets him go as if that reminder should make him remember the results of the last time this sort of thing happened.

She is still trying to wrap her head around this whole complain about crab grass when suddenly Daniel blurts out something she didn't expect to hear. Something that piques her interest and causes her to jump to her feet and quickly grasp Daniel to twirl about and throw him onto the couch. She stands straight and looks down at him. "He told you about those!? He wouldn't even tell me anything other than there are three treasures he expertly hidden around town!"

And then his luck was out.

Caught up in the moment, Daniel Jack's flames of passion winks out. He looks at what he was holding. His shoulders slump a bit. His face goes calm. Taking a deep breath in, he does not loosen his grip. He goes back through time, to his first day studying under Kasumi. When she asked Daniel to grab her that way. And like he did then, he responds as he does now, accepting his fate.

"Yes Senpai."

And SMASH goes the detective.

Sundering the couch in half, Daniel is spiked violently through the couch. Kicking around a bit, he doesn't even grunt... and suddenly bursts up, arms becoming crossed again. He remembered the lesson all too well, and was only slightly harmed. "I am sorry Senpai, I did not know what came over me!" While Daniel shared some of the eccentric ways of Master Todoh, he shared in the stoic sensible passion of Kasumi. He was truly a union of three styles; His own personalities, mixed with both Kasumi and Ryuhaku influences.

But like a mother.

An oddly attractive mother!

That is also younger.

Freudian whimsy aside, Daniel's intensity reforms amongst the split ruins of his couch, the roaches still pouring from the exposed wounds. "Yes! I was surprised as you were! But then I saw the scroll!" Daniel Jack draws out the scroll again, handing it towards Kasumi. "Also, wait, those treasures are expertly hidden around town? Of course! That would make perfect sense. So all we need to do is figure out where you father would logically hide the treasures." The detective pauses. "Which... might be difficult. Kasumi, this is going to be hard for me to tell you." Daniel looks away, trying to find the most sensitive way to break the news. "It's about your father. It may be very hard to understand where he hid those treasures because..." Daniel swallows hard, finally mustering the courage to break the truth to Kasumi.

"Your father may be a little senile."

She is at least a bit less forceful than she was a few years go when Daniel first joined the dojo. Kasumi was a young teen and still very much influenced by her father. She has had a few years with friends in school making her at least a somewhat normal person instead of another Todoh that is mired in all sorts of crazy. Sure she has her quirks, but she isn't doomed to be a female repeat of her father at this point.

She takes the scroll given to her and she squints when looking it over. This is nothing she has ever seen before and she extends a foot to kick out one of Daniel's legs out from under him when he dares mention her father might be senile. She might be reasonable on may a thing, but she still does not handles criticism well when her father is involved. "I thought it was just a story he told me. You are the first student to mention them." She admits while furrowing her brow and trying to make sense of things.

A daddy's girl she may be, she can't seem to make sense of anything her father put down on the scroll. She turns it this way and that as she remains silent for a few moments. "Father is rather brilliant. He made it to where even a true Todoh can't read what he put down. All I can make out is they are in town and one might be right under our noses!"

It also helps that Daniel is a lot more skilled than when he started out.

As Kasumi begins to understand exactly what Daniel was talking about, the detective rubs his chin. "Well, I am his best student! Much better than that Roland person!" Daniel wanted to make that clear to Kasumi that between him and the dashing rogue Roland, the dark-skinned student was the prime rib. "Sensai would tell me that kind of stuff, wouldn't he?" As Kasumi continues to explain the Ryuhaku brilliance, Daniel stops rubbing his chin. His eyes goes wide, and as she reveals the secret of the scroll, he suddenly bursts out.

"Of course!"

Daniel's eyes light up, a beam of insight washing over his face. "I understand now! One would be under our noses, so it must be very close to the dojo. The rest, however, must be around town. But why would they be away from the dojo!" The detective thrusts up a finger to his temple, nodding along at his own genius. "See, do you recall how your father and Takuma once knew each other when they were younger? Do you remember how Master Todoh had once saved that entire litter of puppies, while Takuma, sneering and wringing his hands, vowed a lifetime of petty vengeance against the Todoh-Ryuu clan?"

Daniel Jack nods to emphasize that this was very believable.

"Well, I thought about how that one time, as Master Todoh explained, when Takuma's cruel and wicked son, having waited for Master Todoh to be sick that ONE TIME with the flu bug, ambushed your father dishonorably, and after a fierce battle that nearly destroyed the whole of the dojo, managed to be defeated by Ryo through an illegal maneuver that would be forbidden in any honorable martial art? Well, what would be more insulting than such a defeat against our Todoh-Ryuu Dojo...."

"... Than the theft of one or more of our Sacred Treasures?!"

Fingers grip that scroll tightly as she is reminded of when Todoh was defeated by Ryo. A defeat she managed to somewhat get revenge on when she and Hinako managed to fell the son of Takuma. It was a great victory for Todoh-ryuu and one she will always bring up if she has to deal with anyone of the Sakazaki clan. Kasumi may be a bit more sound in mind than her father, but she still makes certain things up and believes them in them fully.

She shoves the scroll into the chest of Daniel and she slams her fist into the open palm of her other hand. "It does sound like something the Sakazaki family would do." she admits and she starts to pace while avoiding the debris that still clutters the areas of the floor her Kasane Ate didn't clear out. "So that would count for one. I am sure the dojo itself has one, but father wouldn't say what or where it is." That leaves one more to be found. One she can't seem to figure out where it oculd be.

That is when she suddenly gets an epiphany and her eyes go wide. "Kusangi! That makes so much sense!" she sputters and graps Daniel and shakes him a bit. "Takuma and Saishu are friends! He must have taken two and given one to him!" This could make things more problematic of course. The Sakazaki's are a pain, but to deal with the Kusanagi clan as well? Damn this whole crab grass thing. If those treasures are real she has to take them back on principle! She can't let the enemies of her family have such things!

Kusangi?

Daniel Jack furrows his own brow in confusion now. What did that name have to do with anything this important? He couldn't quite recall where the name came from. As the scroll is thrust into his chest, he clutches it with one hand, rubbing his chin with the other. "Kusangi... Where have I heard that name before... Jiro Kusangi? Hyo Kusangi? Kyo...." And once again, Daniel erupts with the same line.

"Of course!"

Reaching out to grab Kasumi instinctively, he immediately recoils the hand, squirming a bit and clearing his throat. "It has been so obvious. Don't you see? Kyo and Ryo... are only one letter apart!" Daniel Jack pinches the bridge of his nose. "I mean, that doesn't make sense. Could they really be that close? Perhaps they may require more finesse than the Sakazaki family. We shouldn't abandon these leads though!"

"Fortunately, I have a brilliant idea!"

Daniel Jack points out the window, looking towards the grime-covered glass. "You should investigate the Kyokugen Dojo! They are keeping watch for me, and expecting the worst. But the last thing they will expect is the innocent, maidenly, and attractive daughter of Todoh-Ryuu, just sweetly minding her own business! Rust is keeping watch there, he is weak against young ladies!" The detective then thrusts a thumb to his chest, and he tucks the scroll... back into his undershirt. "I will investigate the Kusangi family. Maybe if I explain to them calmly and rationally that I am seeking one of the Sacred Treasures, but firmly make it clear that I will not take no for an answer, they may be able to help us!" "Just remember what the three treasures are, Senpai!" Daniel Jack attempts to make the hand gestures, identifying the three objects to highlight in the quest menu.

"The Mirror of Todoh!"

"The Jewel of Todoh!"

"And the Sword of Todoh!"

Just what did Kasumi drag herself into? She wants to say this is crazy and doesn't make sense, but at the same time if it could be true she couldn't just let the Sakazaki and Kusanagi familes flaunt about with items that belong to HER family. The only reason Daniel might be getting away with all of this without some sort of stern lecture is the fact that the Sakazaki family could be involved. She doesn't hold a grudge against the Kusanagi family per say. Kyo is a slacker that annoys her to no end because he is so talented and just doesn't seem to care, but she doesn't have a grudge like she does with the Sakazaki family.

"Rust, right. That is the old man that stammers and uses a pipe." she says to remind herself more than anything. Even if she seems to be pondering things she seems to notice Daniel called her such things as maidenly and attractive. Things that she can't help but find creepy. That might be why Daniel finds himself on the floor head first once again.

"Mirrow, Jewel and Sword.....they don't make sense, but father did say the same thing so you aren't making them up. The Sakazaki clan is vain so they must have the mirror! Kusanagi's must have the sword since they seem lazy and a sword would be an easier avenue than energy attacks. So that must mean the jewel is the one under our noses...." It doesn't make sense of her, but it now she is a bit decidedly interested in finding out more. Maybe her father wasn't just telling her stories!

"Sakazaki dojo....here I come!" she declares and she stomps towards the door to the apartment. Daniel may have saved himself from true punishment, but in the end if he is wrong about the treasures this is the sort of thing that could bite him in the ass. "I am off to plan my approach to speak with this Rust person. You better get results from the Kusanagi clan" she tells him then starts to close the door after stepping out. She then opens the door fully and Daniel gets a glare among glares. "And don't skip out on training without talking to me again!" The door is slammed and Daniel is left to himself once more.

How could it be crazy when it is so TRUE.

Daniel is smashed face first again, this time on the ground. Fortunately, the whiskey bottles break his fall. Rising back up, he wipes the broken glass from his face. "I am sorry Senpai!" Daniel states instinctively, giving a swift bow. As Kasumi continues to follow the manic line of reasoning, Daniel snaps his fingers. "That's right! I think I remember reading something about a Kusanagi sword. Maybe I can go over there and ask them about it!"

"But that still doesn't tell us anything about the Sacred Jewel!"

Daniel Jack begins to pace, face bleeding just a bit. "It is the strangest thing. If Takuma stole both the Mirror and the Sword, why wouldn't he steal the jewel as well? Or rather, why -couldn't- he." Kasumi yells something about skipping out on something. It wasn't that important probably. "In any case, Kasumi! I will vow to defend the family honor, and lead the dojo in defeating the crab grass, and then asking your ha-"

Oh Kasumi was gone.

Daniel Jack stares at the door for a moment. He blinks once. Twice. And finally, he leans back to take a seat in the couch. Kasumi, despite her passion, was right about one thing. This was a serious matter. And only with the combined efforts of Todoh could he be able to stop the crab grass from choking out all plant life in the city. The detective sighs. What did he do to deserve a crisis like this?

He falls down on the ground, right between the remains of the couch.
