Description: Maki hits the Metro City Park for a clean-up job, and runs into a sexist punk and his crazy attack dog. She beats them... pretty soundly.
Metro City has been in chaos for a while now, utterly saturated by gangs and slowly being destroyed from the inside out. Even this once beautiful park, a heavenly place where people could come to retreat from the stress and hazards of daily life, has become an utter wasteland filled with the worst kind of scum imagineable. And that's not referencing the trash that's now been strewn all over the sprawling grassland either.
In particular, there is presntly one such scumbag terrorizing fleeing citizens nearest the park entrance. A tall, lanky, man dressed in denims wearing a ackward baseball cap... he's clutching at the leash of a snarling german shepherd who is snapping at every man, woman, and child who runs by. He's a filthy man, and his dog is no better, if one could see his yellow teeth when his grins momentarily at al the chaos... its stomach churning.

Metro City has always been a place where crime has been a constant problem. Whether it's because of the Mad Gears, or some other punks trying to wreak havoc, or felons who just can't get enough of causing trouble, Metro City is constantly under threat from crime. Fortunately, there are numerous heroes who have taken the time to help out in this fight against the evil scum of Metro City. These heroes have been revered for their courage and bravery in the fights, and are common household names. One of these heroes, however, should be referred to as a heroine, since it's none other than Maki Genryuusai. A fighter who specializes in the art of Bushin-Ryu, Maki seeks to not only help Metro City, but also strives to become the next master of her family's martial arts style.
And when there's news of trouble in Metro City, that's a signal that Maki will never ignore. The parks are under siege by grunts who have nothing better to do than cause harm to those around them. It's a constant problem of Metro City, but as the heroine of Metro City, Maki is able to utilize this not only as a chance to prove herself as a heroine, but also to improve her skills as she strives to become the next grandmaster.
As Maki approaches the park from the subway, since she doesn't want to give her position away that easily, even though she is considered a ninja, a group of young children rush up to her, some of them crying. "Maki, Maki, you have to help us! There's a mean guy in there with a bad doggie! We can't play there while he's there! Please, Maki, you have to help us!"
"Don't worry," Maki says as she knels down to the level of the children, speaking in a gentle tone. "I'll make sure that the mean guy doesn't hurt anyone anymore, and that dog will be taken care of as well." WIth the last part, Maki bites her lower lip. She has a thing against harming domesticated animals, but when she gets a glance at the dog, her eyes narrow a bit, since she figures that dog has pretty much been turned into a monster from whatever that goon has done to it. Without missing a beat, Maki dashes towards the park, somersaulting over the fence, and landing close to the thug and his mutt. "You've got some nerve terrorizing innocent children!" Maki exclaims angrily. "But I'm afraid your terror reign is coming to an end... now!" Maki draws her tonfa and twirls it around briefly before gripping it tightly.

The lanky thug chortles as Maki bounds over the fence, deftly, and threatens to 'end his reign of terror'. It was amusing tto the scum because not only did he believe she wasn't capable, but it wasn't even his to begin with! ... That said, he does pay her due caution... he knows well /who/ she is. A lot of people did... "Ah, girly you showed up just in time! I was gettin' bored... and Teeth here was gettin' mighty hungry." As he says this, the snapping mongrel suddenly spots the ninja who bounds into their territory. She suddenly proceeds to snarl viciously, and then charge Maki at all speed... toothy maw wide in preparation for biting.
..The thug does hold the leash taut, momentarily, though... only allowing the dog to get within an inch or so of Maki. "Hehehe... you almost got bit..." ... then he turns loose of the leash, suddenly, allowing the dog to attack. "Almost." Having done this, he then proceeds to rush her himself... drawing a switch blade from a back pocket and flicking it open with a snap of his wrist. Between the dog attempting to bite her on one side, and the punk attempting to cut her on the other, things are beginning to get downright nasty.

"I can't stand people who train animals to be brutal like that!" Maki exclaims. "You are a monster! You don't belong here in Metro City!" She grits her teeth and begins to breathe a little bit heavier than before, the adrenaline surging through her body. "I'd guess that if you knew who I am, you'd be running away, but it doesn't matter honestly. All that matters that I teach you and your mutt a lesson that you'll never forget!" Her eyes dart between the dog and the thug. Then she abruptly turns as the dog charges at her.
"No! Down!" Maki yells as she uses her tonfa to deflect the dog away, hoping that her agility will allow her to get out of the way in the nick of time. But unfortunately, it's not good enough. Maki ends up getting nicked by the knife, leaving a small mark on her arm. "Ow!" She says, although it seems a bit sarcastic as opposed to actual pain.
"You didn't really think you could hit me with something like that, did you?" Maki asks sarcastically. "You don't know anything about how to handle a weapon. Let me show you how it's done!" Maki swings her tonfa around then attempts to slam it horizontally into the goon's side.

Surly chortles again, both at her calling him a monster and insinuating he trained the dog to be that way without knowing. He wasn't going to say it, but he knew full well who the real monsters were and he definitely wasn't one of them. No, he was just a scuzzy n'er-do-well looking for some 'fun'. And the 'dog? A 'retired' fighting dog he'd 'adopted' for protection. Little more...
"You wouldnt know a real monster if it bit you in the ass girly. If you think I'M a monster, you haven't met the real owners of this town..." He was referring to the Syndicate of course. That was, in fact, his entire reason for participating. He owed them a debt... and if he could earn money to pay it off or see thee city destroyed... he'd not owe it any longer.
When Maki's tonfa strike comes, he is entirely too slow to avoid it... and finds his ribcage thoroughly hurting for it. "AH! ... You little, bitch!" he then immediately retaliates on her with an attempted skull bash of his own. 'Teeth' meanwhile, despite missing the first time, is persistent and continues to try and snap at her again. This time looking to put its clenching bite on her rear!

"Girly? Bitch? You really aren't popular with the ladies are you," Maki snaps in response to the words he uses to describe her. Girlie may not be that bad, but Maki hates being called a bitch. That is one word you don't use towards her at all for any reason whatsoever, unless you want your teeth knocked out. Speaking of Teeth...
As Maki crouches down to avoid Surly's attempted strike at her skull, she doesn't realize she's left herself open for attack by that dog. And when it bites down on her, she cries out in pain, realizing that this dog is definitely crazy. As long as it doesn't have rabies, though, but even then that doesn't mean Maki's taking anything from it.
"Bad doggie! Play dead!" Maki yells as she attempts to kick the dog off and away from her. She once felt sorrow for it, but when it bit her, she realized that it was definitely out of control and there was no taming it.

Surly stumbles forward as his head butt misses, snarling a bit as Maki then returns his insult with one of her own. "Nyeh? Hahaha... I'm a real ladies man, actually. I just know chicks need to be put in their place. ... Like the kitchen." That said, he wastes little time bantering before he's back on the offense again... a hard, booted, kick lashing out toward the ninja's midsection.
Teeth, meanwhile, is kicked solidly... but proves to earn its title of 'fighting dog' as the kick barely even manages to budge the dog's muscular frame. No, kicking it did not help to deter the dog... it only elicits even more vicious growl and snapping as the large attack beast leaps at Maki suddenly in an attempt to knock her down. If it manages to do so, it will then attempt to latch its nasty bite onto one of her arms and tear at her flesh mercilessly!

After she manages to get free, Maki takes the time to yell out, "I bet you're real popular with sexist comments like that, you prick!" She gets back onto one foot and then the other, leaping away from both Surly and his dog so that both of them end up getting nothing but air. All while Maki lands in a crouched position, staring at Surly and Teeth. "You know, there's one good thing I like about you guys, and that's the fact that you make good sparring utilities. Because I'm next in line to become the grandmaster of my family's style of martial arts!
"Not that you'd be up for something like that," Maki continues. "In fact, if we saw you set one foot in our dojo, we'd have your ass tossed out in a heartbeat! We don't look kindly upon people who treat women the way you do." As Maki is finishing speaking, she's dropping onto the ground, and then spins around like a whirlwind with her leg outstretched. Round and round and round she goes, where she stops, nobody knows!

Maki's response about him being sexist only provokes the nasty thug to laugh even harder than he had been before. "Fiesty women are the best kind! I bet you make..." ... is pretty much all he manages to get out before Maki's foot collides with his face not once but several times... pretty much knocking most of the fight out of him before it even began. "...Ugh..."
Teeth, meanwhile, is as relentless as ever. Despite being kicked and evaded at least twice, the black and brown muscular fighting dog charges the ninja again even as Surly hits the dirt. It doesn't attempt a frontal attack this time however, perhaps demonstrating its breed's penchant for intelligence. No, that hadn't worked last time... so this time the dog instead runs circle around the girl. It snaps several time, feinting at biting her... unntil finally it lashes out in an attempt to plant its teeth in one of her legs!
Surly has in the meantime managed to clamber to his feet, readying his knife again as he lunges at her whilst she's ddistracted by the dog.

"You think I'm fiesty?" Maki asks. "Let me tell you something, your definition of fiesty is way off target, buddy." She dusts herself off a little, almost like she's trying to imply that this is boring her pretty much. But that doesn't mean she's done fighting. She came here to teach this guy a lesson, not to mess around in Metro City.
"I'm surprised you haven't just given up yet," Maki then adds as she glances between the two opponents, the guy and his dog. After a moment, Maki decides to finish what she's started. "Let's throw the trash out, shall we?" Maki attempts to grab onto Surly and hurl him into a nearby trash receptacle. What will happen with Teeth is anyone's guess.

After hitting the trash recepticle head first with a heavy metal clanging, the disgusting Surly seems to be out cold. He wasn't much of a fighter, it seems... but looking at his wiry frame it's very easy to see why.
That leaves the far more capable attack dog for the ninja to deal with, an opponent which has proved to be somewhat harder to put down thus far than the weakling punk.
Teeth is beginning to get frustrated by its lack of ability to hit Maki, a thing which becomes evident as the dog momentarily ceases pursuing her and attacks another nearby trash recepticle. Gripping the small iron trash can, which stands to a height that just barely puts its rim within biting range... the ddog then slings its head around violently and flinging trash everywhere. It then releases the iron trash recepticle, hurling it through the air at Maki!

"Is that all you've got?" Maki asks, slightly surprised. "I knew it, you're all talk and no fight!" She shakes her head tsking. "Too bad, because I was hoping to get a good sparring session off of you." Then the trash starts flying. "Oh, dammit!" She exclaims when she sees the receptacle coming at her, and she slides underneath it.
"Bad dog! What are you on?!" Maki angrily asks, knowing well enough that there's not going to be an answer. "You are too dangerous! You need to be stopped!" Maki then attempts to press her tonfa into the dog's throat and knock it away.

Despite having that fit earlier, adding more trash to the nearby area and slinging the empty trash can at Maki, the dog's rage was not yet sated. This dog, in particular, is used to utterly dominating its fellow dogs in the underground dog fighting scene. The scent of blood flowing freely as its oppponent takes its last breath had become so familiar as to be necessary for this dog. If it could not dominate, it was worthless.
That's why this dog grows even more furious as Maki moves in to jam her tonfa into its thick fur coat, and muscular neck. It hurt, surely, but it only spurred the dog to want to draw her blood even more. As Maki moves in, Teeth leaps from the ground and snaps at her face while attempting to knoc her to the ground with its body weight. If it could knock her to ground level it would then proceed to bite and tear at viciously any place on her body that even remotely looked worth biting.

"I can't believe that some people actually do this to dogs!" Maki says with a sigh as she watches the dog get back onto its feet and prepare to go at her again. "Dogs aren't supposed to be made into mindless beings!" But what good are Maki's words? Not good, especially since that dog is only getting more aggressive by the moment. It's almost like its mind has been stripped, leaving it with nothing but feelings of hatred and rage.
"I'm sorry to do this, but..." Maki drops into her spinning attack again, trying not to hit the dog too hard, but knowing she has no choice at the same time. She hits the dog just as the dog bites into her, causing her to end her attack early as she drops onto her side. "Owww..." She says, rubbing at the spot where she was bitten. A little blood is showing, which she attempts to wipe away with her hand. "I can't believe what I've gotten myself into. Fighting punks is one thing, but a dog? I can't believe I'm doing this..."
Teeth manages to sink its fangs into Maki's leg for the barest of moments before being kicked away hard. The dog emits a yelp as it tumbles across the ground nearby, slightly injured. ... But for a dog like THIS, pain was only an incentive. It was a REASON to press on, and keep fighting, in the vain hope of inflicting injury in turn. After all, injurying or killing the opponent meant not only satisfying dominance... but a brief reprieve from an angry master's fury.
The dog rises again, a snarling growl growing from soft to threateningly loud as it charges back in... relentless as ever. Its muscular legs pound the earath as hard as they can, driving the attack dog's body forward as its maw spreads wide again... attempting lash out and grab Maki by the arm and yank her down again. If it can do so, it will waste absolutely zero time going for the throat!

While Maki can sympathize about having an angry master to face if Teeth loses, it still cannot be allowed to bite her. Maki feels tears in her eyes as she jumps over the dog, not wanting to harm this dog or force it to endure torture from its master. But she has no choice. If the dog is allowed to go free, it could cause other problems. "I don't know who or what brainwashed you, but there's no going back now!" The tears are streaming down her cheeks about having to physically fight with a dog.
"I just hope I don't kill you. No dog deserves to die at my hands." Even though Maki is talking to the dog, she knows it can't understand her. It's just her way of trying to make herself feel less guilty about this. Then she drops down and attempts a sliding kick at the dog.

The kick hits, soudly, and despite how restrained the kick was it does take out the dog's legs from under it. Even as the dog attempts to lash out again at the attacking foot... and misses entirely.
The dog was feeling a good bit of pain now, reluctant to get up from the ground even... simply licking its chops gingerly as it lies there. Its breathing is pretty erratic too... it had damn nearly exhausted itself by expending all of its energy just trying to bite her. Having an opponent, especially a human opponent, that was fast enough to avoid all of its attacks were unusual indeed for such a dominant dog.
Despite being tired, it does eventually scramble to its feet again. Quietly at first. There probably wasn't any winning this fight, yet the dog still felt the instinctive need to press on. It isn't attacking just yet, but the way it cautiously plods forward... a low growl being emitted from its toothy maw... it surely wouldn't be long.
Maki stands up, finding herself still with a lot of fight in her, but the dog is getting worn down definitely. "Why does it have to be like this?!" Maki asks in both desperation and frustration. "Damn it, dogs aren't supposed to be used for fighting!" Tears continue to stream down Maki's cheeks, but the sadness drops when she sees the dog still doesn't want to give up. It's still in the mood to fight.
"Look, I don't want to do this to you," Maki says pleadingly. "Just go home or something. Please!" Maki steps back slowly from the dog, watching it carefully.

What home would such a vicious and blood thirsty dog go to? No sane person would have it, and any local shelters would just put it down. It's a sad situation created by the greed and wickedness of men, and it was baring its teeth at the Ninja threateningly now.
What comes next is as siomple and direct as all of its attacks have been thus far. The dog rushes in, as hard as its body will go, and opens its mouth full of jagged, razor sharp, teeth and lashes out for the girl's right thigh.

By now, the tears are running down Maki's cheeks like rain. She doesn't want to have to hurt this animal, but at the same time she keeps reminding herself that she has no choice. There's no hope for the poor dog. She has to incapacitate it so that she can get it to a facility where it can be properly euthanized. "I don't want to kill you, please stop!" Maki semi-babbles as she watches the dog come at her and attempt to bite her in the thigh.
The moment it sinks its fangs into Maki's thigh, she cries out and pushes it off of her, using her free hand to assist as she throws it off of her and onto the ground. "I... I'm sorry..." Maki is sobbing uncontrollably as she does this, revealing that she's definitely an animal lover. "At least let me get you to a place where you can have a peaceful end. Please!" Maki continues to babble, but it's no use she knows.
The dog is, once again, hurled to the ground with painful force... eliciting another whine. It tumbles across the ground several times and then scrambles to its feet. Afterward, it seems to pause... cautiously... perhaps questioning whether it should press on. One of its ears rotates rightward, momentarily, as it hears the sound of footsteps in the background... its brown eyes spotting a child being chased by a concerned parent as they run by. ... And suddenly, the crazy dog just isn't interested in Maki anyway. The child looks like a much more manageable opponent. The dog whips around and proceeds to charge, snarling and growling again as it prepares to try and knock the toddler to the ground and seize on it.

"Please, just stop now." Maki is breathing heavily, trying not to keep on crying as she does so. But as she's reminded herself before, it's no use. Maki needs to do something, but she doesn't know what it is. Calling animal control wouldn't be helpful since there's no phone nearby, and who knows what could happen if she left the dog alone... or if it chased her. "What do I do? What do I--"
Then Maki spots the child going by with the concerned mother, and Maki goes wide-eyed. The dog looks like it's about to go after the child, and Maki screams, "NO!" She hates to do this, but the child is in danger, and Maki always protects children when she needs to. "Get away from that child!" Maki yells, swinging her tonfa towards the dog's side.

The maddened fighting dog has, finally, just about had it. As it roars toward the child as hard as it can, intent on trying to seize it by the throat... Maki once again proves to be just too fast for the dog. She chases it down, slamming her tonfa into the dog's side and breaking ribs, andd causing the dog to tumble just inches before it reaches the toddler. The surprise of having the dog snap at her causes the blonde little girl to fall forward on her hands and knees... and proceed to wail. Tears streaming down her face.
The mother rushes in shortly after, scooping up the female toddler, and giving Maki a nasty glare. "If your dog is that prone to biting, you ought to have it put down!" ... She doesn't give any time for reply though, breaking off into a run toward the park exit shortly afterward. She was, apparently, trying to escape like everyone else.
The dog, meanwhile, now seems content to lie there on the concrete... breathing laboredly and licking. It wouldn't be putting up any more fight... now that its ribs were broken.Maki may still have to render it unconscious however... unless she can manage a makeshift muzzle to keep it from biting when she tries to collect it...

Fortunately, Maki has been able to assemble a makeshift muzzle using some nearby objects, and has placed it on the dog's nose and mouth. At the same time, animal control was already contacted somehow and they're arriving with a stretcher. "You poor thing," Maki says gently. "I'm sorry this had to happen to you." She then looks to the animal control officers and says, "It's pretty much aggressive beyond belief, and unless something can change it, I think it should be euthanized." The tears are flowing down her cheeks as she looks at the dog, once a possible pet, now turned into a killing machine, only to be seriously injured by Maki in an effort to protect Metro City.
"Don't worry, Maki, we'll take care of it in a humane manner," The animal control officer, recognizing Maki as a local heroine, says to her. "We'll see what we can do." At that, Maki kneels down, tears streaming down her cheeks, and blows a kiss at the dog. "I'm sorry this had to happen to you, but hopefully, if you can't be retrained for society, at least you can meet a peaceful end." She then turns and runs off, not wanting to have the others see her tears. This wasn't the type of fight Maki wanted to have to endure, but sometimes, these things are unavoidable.
But the shame of the next grandmaster crying like a baby? It's something Maki can't bear to show.
