Description: It is a sad fact that heroes are contractually obligated to mistake one another as villains at least three times per year. May Lee has so far mistaken Rust's toupee as an artifact of evil (... mistaken ...) and now, she mistakes Brett as an Agent of Evil. Because good people don't play hockey. It is a well known fact that hockey is the sport of thugs! CAN WE EVER PUT THIS MISUNDERSTANDING BEHIND US?!
It's always kind of disappointing when the hometown team loses a big one. And it always comes with consequences. The sad thing that comes with the Rangers loss to the Devils, despite the relative closeness of each team's metro area, is that...well, hockey interest as bottomed out something fierce. As a result...well...lets just say that Brett's pool of students has all but dried up.
At a blacktop in the park, the hockey fighter is...well, at the very least, he has one dedicated student left. A boy about nine years old is there, not on skates, but at least holding a stick and seemingly practicing his form as he snaps the stick from the ground up with a wrister. "That's it. Just like that. Shfit your weight, snap the stick upward with your wrist, not your arm," he instructs, doing the same as the kid. Judging by the Rangers cap that his parents wear nearby, at least the kid comes from a hockey family.
May Lee is always on the prowl... against INJUSTICE.
Now, there are a few things that she hasn't learned about America. What she did learn, before coming over, though, was about sports. She learned that Baseball is Good With Hotdogs. That Football is best in College. And that Hockey is Violent.
So one can imagine the thoughts that go through her head when she sees Brett, apparently menacing a boy with a stick. The poor kid doesn't even have skates! Obviously Brett has STOLEN them!
May Lee is getting better at her dramatic entrances, and when she LEAPS into action, it is accompanied with a literal blur of motion. She lands between Brett and the nine year old, her scarf (bright green, stamped with frogs) flutters in the breeze behind her, as she POINTS at the hockey fighter.
Her eyes blaze with fierce JUSTICE, but she is smiling.
"Halt right there, evildoer!" She declares, "Give this kid back whatever it was you took, and get out of here, before I send you to the lockup!"
One can almost here the music playing in the background. No doubt the kid is looking up at May Lee in awe. Such is the power ... of JUSTICE!
Brett continues to demonstrate the proper form of the wrister...mind, he's never been a good shooter in practice, but he at least knew the theory enough to show the general form. There's a faint smile as he watches the kid get the general idea. "Think you're ready to try a real shot now?" he asks. Of course, before he can get a proper answer to that, a sudden...obstruction comes out of nowhere.
"What th-puffffhtphphph..." he starts to exclaim, beofre that fluttering scarf starts to flap back into his face, prompting him to back up and swing his hand in front of him like one would if they accidently got flower petals thrown in their face or something. "Wha-...evildoer...what are you talking about, I'm teaching him hockey?" he stammers, confused as hell as he's suddenly accused of stealing something from the poor kid. Even the parents look a bit dumbstruck at the sudden interruption. The kid...well, now HE's busy trying to keep the scarf out of his face.
May Lee isn't one to be put off by the attempts of EVIL to deflect from the truth! She knows that this guy is bad news - just look at that hockey stick, and that evil face! There's no way he's a good guy. Good guys don't play hockey. And they certainly don't teach kids without the proper equipment and safety standards in place!
"I said, give this kid back what you took!" She says, and now her finger descends to the boots, despite the fact that there's no way the kid could wear them, given the size difference. "Take those off, right now, or else..."
And her hand raises, the bracelet that Chun-Li gave her raising high into the air. "I will KNOCK YOU OUT!" And the gauntlet has been thrown down. "FOR JUSTICE!"
Brett just continues to look on rather perturbed, slowly backing up on his skates at the repeated accusations the strange scarved woman levels toward him. "I didn't take anything!! And why do you want to knock me out?! I haven't done anything wrong, I swear it!" The kid and his parents for their part are standing aside, staring blankly and not sure how they should react to the turn of events.
In the meanwhile, Brett goes from aggrieved to a little more upset. "And who are you to jump out of nowhere and accuse me of something? I mean....geez, out of all the things going on in the city...I mean...that dreadlocked guy, Duke, that...guh...."
"DUKE!"
And that's all it takes! Suddenly, May Lee is lunging through the air, her foot leading the way in one of the powerful and graceful flying kicks that Tae Kwon Do is so renowned for. The aim is to spring forwards, and connect her foot directly with Brett's jaw. Because that is always the best location to try to damage when you follow it up with...
"Tell me everything you know about that man, and don't you dare skimp on the details!"
May seems... pretty oblivious to the shock she's inspiring in everyone else in the immediate area. But, then, May goes through life being... at least partly oblivious. The fact is, Brett has triggered her bad guy radar. The unwritten law of heroics now demands that they fight!

Eyes widen as suddenly, the girl takes flight. This prompts the family to run off, presumably to inform the authorities in some way. Brett....he doesn't have that luxury. "Gahhh!!" he cries out, backing up a little and lifting his stick up to try and get between her foot and his face. Thankfully, he gets there in time, the stick snapped back into his face, but less than the kick would have done to him in the first place. "MMPHhhhnnn..."
Rolling back from the hit on his wheels, he scowls a bit. "What is WRONG with you?!" he snaps, his demeanor changing to something a little less anxious and a little more focused. Which is why he's able to do something like swing his stick out, trying to hook it around the back of the stranger girl's neck and try to tug her down to the floor by that.
COMBATSYS: MayLee dodges Brett's King's End.

May dodges to the side, both arms extended to the left, as Brett trys to hook her with that stick. Her eyes glint, and then she smiles, her teeth catching the light with a dramatic *ping*. "I just can't stand to see criminals like you go unpunished!" She says, skidding to a halt, she pauses only to make sure that her feet have a good grip against the ground, sneakers squeaking...
And then she's lunging through the air, her hand swinging around in a wide arc that aims to catch Brett square on the side of the neck, "That's the burden of being..."
"CHAMPION OF JUSTICE, THE AMAZING DYNAMO, MAY LEE!"
COMBATSYS: Brett endures MayLee's May Lee- Chop!.

When his attempted hook catch at the rather...crazy girl fails, Brett is forced to do her best to track. The dodge and subsequent dive toward him is a little too fast for him to stop...so he just waits and braces himself. The strike to the back of his neck is a serious sting, but he's not so easy to take down with something like that.
He's willing to take the blow just to make sure she's nearby, enough that he can retaliate easier. And as soon as he finishes reeling from the chop, he comes at her, sweeping his stick down low toward her ankles, and spinning on those skates as the stick rises and slashes circularly. A little flair he added from the old move, just in case she tries to jump again.
COMBATSYS: MayLee blocks Brett's Ice Thrasher.

May's scarf stops blowing around her so frantically, and she seems to take his assault a little more seriously than the headlong rush into the offensive had allowed her to, before. Both arms are brought around, and Brett impacts her heavily, but she manages to intercept the circular strike cleanly.
"Hmph!"
May's return attack is swift, coming in, she turns, and raises her foot up behind her, backwards, aiming to crash into Brett's guard and send him into the air. Regardless of whether it connects or not, as she comes back around to lower her leg, she'll continue -
"I notice you don't even have the decency to deny it!"
COMBATSYS: MayLee successfully hits Brett with Into Sky.

The pop-up kick sends Brett into the air, a painful crash down as he lands. "GNhhhh...." The landing forces the poor kid into a sprawl. Somehow, he still has the stick in hand, which he finds useful in pushing himself back up from the ground. "Ngnhh...guhh...what is wrong with you..." he groans, gritting his teeth. Now he's definitely irritated.
Irriated enough to charge after her, try grab her with her free hand, and then hopefully elbow her with the hand still holding his stick by the butt. "I DID, AS SOON AS YOU JUMPED IN! I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU'RE EVEN ACCUSING ME OF!" he shouts, still swinging and still trying to elbow her. With elbows turning into punches if given the chance, and ended with an upward slash of the stick if he fully catches her.
COMBATSYS: MayLee counters Broad Street Barrage from Brett with Blazing Intercept.

May Lee is still in motion when Brett comes at her, and as he tries to grab her, the girl suddenly swivels completely on the spot, pivoting upwards, her leg is fully extended, and smacks powerfully into Brett's chin, breaking his momentum, as she uses his face to, well, flip up back and away!
I already told you! You're a criminal! You like HOCKEY!"
"And you're CLEARLY working for Duke, picking on little kids!"
Her voice is still loud and clear, and she obviously hasn't been convinced by Brett's protestations of innocence. In fact, her hands are now moving to her hips, giving Brett a very stern look indeed. Hmph!
Well...there goes that idea. Before he can even land a punch, Brett is plowed yet again with another hard upward kick, this time sending him up and back rather than straight upward. At least the landing is less of a problem, but the damage is no less than before. "Ughhnn....nnnhhhh...."
Struggling to push himself back up to simply a crouch, the hockey kid grits his teeth...and when that name comes up again, his eyes start to burn. "Duke.....why would..gnh...why would I work for someone like him, HE TRIED TO KILL MY FAMILY!!! WHY WOULD I WORK FOR A MONSTER LIKE HIM?!" he screams, only the reinforcements on his stick keeping him from making finger-sized indents on it as he nearly crushes it in his grip.
COMBATSYS: Brett takes no action.

"... oh."
May Lee actually hesitates, at last. Having been acting mostly out of the very, Kim-like desire to just keep going, Brett's impassioned speech finally seems to get through to her, and she looks faintly embarrassed, looking away to the side. She coughs, and then scratches behind the back of her head, her goggles shaking up and down a little as she does.
A nervous laugh comes next, "Well, you know, everyone makes mistakes! Even Champions of Justice!" She laughs a little harder, forcing it out. "I'm sorry! I thought you were bullying this kid. If you'd just /said/..."
COMBATSYS: MayLee takes no action.

Brett grunts, pushing himself back up straight again...at least, as straight as possibly can after the beating he'd been taking. "I....did..." he groans, raising a hand up to his jaw...then his chest. He didn't even have padding on this time.... "I tried to, but you were screaming about justice this and criminal that and didn't give me a chance edgewise," he mutters.
A shame she's so infuriating right now. Because if he wasn't so irritated right now, or the focus of the supposed 'justicing', he might have found her cute.
May Lee turns a bright shade of red at that, and waves her hand around, "I couldn't hear you! You were muttering! You can't expect me to hear you when you are muttering! Speak up!"
And that's... all she has to say. She can't stay here with him giving her that sort of look, and the crowd and kid glaring at her. She's turned beet red, and no longer able to stand the embarrassing mixup, she breaks into a run, scarf flapping madly behind her as she *sprints* from the scene of her shame. Oh dear!
Brett just....he's really not sure what to think about that whole thing. Or her. Or the fact that he really was pretty much handed his ass before he finally convinced her he wasn't working for Duke and backed off. As mad as he is, one thing does buzz in the back of his head: at least she could probably give Duke a run for it.
Which just makes Brett all the more frustrated. He turns to the dad, who seems to be running back after trying to report what just went on. "I'm...I'm sorry about all that," he mutters, trying to force a smile. "I...really don't know what that was all about, but I'm sorry the lesson got ruined. Next week?" he suggests. At least that should give Brett some time to try and arrange for more training in the meanwhile.
