Adon - Murder In the Orient

Description: With Adon still bedridden, news of the murder in his hospital has spread to the international channels, and the Emperor is a prime suspect. Still too weak to defend himself, an old enemy has gone out of her way to investigate the truth of the murder... even if it means protecting Adon.

Hospitals... ugh. They always make Munin nervous a bit. Something about them..... The sterile smell? The sharp objects? The beeps of the machinery identifying vitals? The.... she stops the thoughts there before they dwell on events she would rather not recollect....

She is directed to a specific nurse with regard to her request to see a particular patient. She first asks to see the location of the recent 'attack', as well as asks several questions of the woman. Firstly, where on Adon was the blood and tissue found? Was any sound heard? What condition were the straps he was supposedly in when he was found unconscious? Was he seen in the corridors prior? How far was the event from his room? What were the extent of the injuries, and was the deceased still in the hospital to be given a brief look for potential important details?

She takes note of the responses she is given as she goes over the location in the hospital the murder occured, even taking some photos with her phone from different angles, and of any specific clues that may stand out. She asks if there were any details that had been cleaned up since, like blood stains and the like, and photographs those areas too.

This done, she asks to be taken to Adon himself. She signs whatever paperwork is requested before being allowed entry, and nods to the officer as he lets her in to his room, leaving her sword with the cop for the time being as well.

As she enters the room, she braces herself for a potential tirade. She was, after all, with Cammy in that raid on his 'love den'. He likely will not take her presence well.....

Adon is strapped down again.

His day has been miserable. His night was miserable. Normally, when a rival kills himself over you, that was a day to celebrate. But the stranger had to take the wind out of his sails. The Emperor would be more furious... but he had his painkillers again. This might have been fortunate for Munin, and in turn, Adon himself, for when the woman comes in, the Jaguar of Muay Thai glances over at his new guest.

And instantly recognizes her.

"YOU-" He begins, before wincing, and lowering his voice. "-You-" The Emperor's eyes were dazed, but dead focused on the woman. His jaw was still in pain, talking was painful. He would restrain his screaming, the painkillers swimming in his mind. Glaring at Munin, he recognizes her all too well. "More tormenters to draw out my recovery? I remember you raiding my manor." The Emperor states cooly. Munin might be gifted to see Adon sedated, and lacking his usual edge of bravado. Still, the Emperor's tone is caustic as he asks the penetrating question.

"What do you want?"

Violet eyes sweep the room, taking in the details. The straps, the equipment, the fact Adon is sedated and not fully 'himself' *a bonus if she ever saw one*, among other things.....

She closes the door behind her, and eyes Adon a moment as he speaks, taking her time to walk across the room and out the window, taking note of how many floors up, and what the geography of the area directly outside the window is.

She looks back to him, and her gaze hardens a bit "Actually, i'm NOT here to torment you. Quite the opposite, suprisingly. I was curious when i read the headlines, and decided to see for myself what had transpired". She raises an eyebrow "I figured i had nothing to lose by going to the source, and seeing what you could remember about what happened, in your own words". She casually leans against the wall, arms folded, the gears in her mind clearly turning.

Sympathy?

Or a pursuit of the truth.

Adon actually chuckles a bit. And Munin gets the grace that so few in the world has recieved, especially a woman. "Thank you. I have had very little good will towards me for the last several weeks. It is good to see someone taking a stand for justice and the truth."

Adon takes note that KIM hasn't come to his corner.

Groaning a bit, he growls at his own straps. "So, did you hear what those jackals said about me on the news? Feh! They would assume I am a murderer. I am many things, as great of an Emperor I am. But a murderer? Hah Hah Aaaaaaagh"

Adon whimpers a bit, his jaw hurting.

"... What do you want, Miss..."

Munin eyes out the window a moment, thinking, not expecting THAT response. She does give a stern sideways glance "I will be honest. I do not like you, for the things i've seen you HAVE done to people, such as the women in your 'love den' as it were....". She tapers off "However, when i heard the story, something outright didn't add up. If anything, your a showman. You always seem to want everyone to see everything you do, to show just how great you are. Either to prove a point, or to attempt to gain what you want, and so on".

She begins to pace back and forth across the room "So when i hear that you've killed someone, which despite all your behavior has never been noted as occuring, the first details of no one knowing anything about it until AFTER it has occured struck me as odd. No one heard anything? You taunt and shout at the top of your lungs, even against someone who is a lesser fighter. You got out of your restraints and room without any noise? If you pulled that off, you strike me as the type that would want the world to know you managed such a feat".

Munin stops at the foot of his bed "To get out, beat up someone, AND return, all without a clue you were gone? Why would you return to your room? If it was someone who could not fight back, and you were in fighting condition, WHY were you unconscious?". She tilts her head "Why was there blood on your body, but not your legs, considering your signature attacks and techniques are mostly leg strikes?".

She walks over towards the window again, slowly "What i want, EMPEROR...." she says it with a bit of bite, acknowledging it, but being curt about it ".... is to hear your side of the story, since as much as i dislike your actions up to the present in many things....." she turns and leans against the wall again, looking at him, stern expression unable to hide the inquisitiveness in her eyes ".... i, unlike most, am not completely convinced your lying about your innocence".

Adon goes wide-eyed.

Was.... was Munin actually defending him? The Emperor would be concealing his face right now. But as he struggles against the restraints, he actually cannot hide how he is blushing. "Bah! My side of the story? Well, you are very clever in proving how I didn't, or at least, couldn't, do it! But let me explain to you, -woman,- on what really happened"

The Emperor leans back, the events of the night rushing back to him. Almost in a trance, he began to speak. "... I was lying here, dreaming a most wonderful dream, when I was awoke by a strange red-haired man, dressed as a janitor. He was... interested in me. Apparently, he took the rumors of Quon seriously, and believed that I was the one who drove him to suicide. So he destroyed my medical equipment, cutting me off from my IV, my morphine. And pleaded with me, tried to make me tell him how I drove Quon to suicide. Clearly, I did not, so he was upset that I was not the murderous freak he wanted me to be. So he cut me free, and tried to goad me into a fight. I tried to, but... I was physically incapable of fighting. So I collapsed on the ground. That is when he began to coat me in blood. The officer told me it was the nurse's blood.... which is why nobody heard my cries for help."

The Emperor sighs.

"Yes, I cried for help." Adon adds, with a tinge of embarassment.

Munin listens intently, taking in what Adon says and running it through her mind with what facts she does know..... She ignores his attitude, expecting it, and having more important things to worry about. She honestly couldn't care less about his guilt or innocence, as much as wondering why he would change his mannerisms for this event if he DID do it, and if he didn't, her own curiosity about who DID, mixed with her own slightly twisted sense of justice.

When he mentions Quons death, she nods. There would be the motive, at least.

His information makes her ponder...... "Destroyed your medical equipment? That didn't draw attention? Any specific method or technique to do so silently and not draw a crowd rather quickly? Any facial features you can describe? Clean shaven? Cuts or nicks or other specifics? Also, what did he use to 'coat' you in the blood? Anything specific?". As he finishes, she gives a nod "There is no shame in asking for help when it is truely needed, though no one will hear of it from me. Not my place to speak of it".

Adon turned away.

"He... everything blacked out, all the electronics. He was good, whatever he was. I thought he was an assassin, sent for me. He had red chi, like knives. He cut apart the equipment, my straps... everything. His features.... he was like a scarecrow, with red hair. I was still groggy from the painkillers. It was like a dream to me. He covered me with blood with... with his hands. He had pieces of her with her... and blood."

Adon lets loose a pained groan.

"He was a monster! I think... I think it was so late, there was no one else on staff awake. It was so early..." The Emperor sighs. "He told me his parting gift would be to get this murder to pin on me. Because I didn't entertain him. He was a psychopath. I don't know how he found me. But I must have entertained him somewhere...."

The Emperor looks at Munin.

"Does any of this help you?"

Adon recieves a nod in response..... she begins to think about potential fighters with such abilities, though she herself knows of none outright. This will take some research, and a look at records from battles that may still be around. Maybe someone with such techniques was in SNF or one of the bigger leagues at some point. "One other question: How did he come in? Through the door? The window? A ceiling tile?"

Adon takes in a deep breath.

"He... he came through the door. Confident. In command. The woman was dead by then. You aren't thinking of taking him in yourself?" The Emperor grins nastily at Munin, looking up from the bed. "You think that this will be like one of my henchmen? The man is dangerous. You think you could dance with him, and live? There are better ways to kill yourself..."

Adon pauses, before suddenly snicking to himself.

"... Like invest in cupcakes."

Adon begins to break into a cackle.

Munin smirks "Not at all. I'm simply gathering information in regard to a curiosity of mine regarding the whole scenario. I'm no cop, nor am i about to run off after an assassin or freelance fighter like that. It'd likely be suicide".

She turns and walks towards the door, giving him one last glance "If this information works, and your off the hook, you owe me one". She gives a mischevious smile, and steps out through the door. Once outside, she inquires to see if either the officer or the nurse will allow her to view the camera data for the floor for a few hours before and after the murders, if any exists.

Adon is finally alone again.

"What a strange girl." The Emperor mulls to himself. "She destroys my entire stable of Muay Thai Brides, and goes out of her way to clear my name. A wild card, that one is..." The Emperor sighs. "Bah, I should not care. She is nothing more than a petty young lady. I will teach her not to mess with me. But.... later."

"So much later..."

THe Emperor shuts his eyes again. Weakening. Sleeping.

Dreaming.
