Description: The girl formerly known as the Killer Bee is left, post-nuke in China, lying in a hospital bed with no memory of what happened. Adding to her confusion at least at first is that one of her old friends decides to drop in and see how she's doing. And her friend is apparently a ninja! Cheesecake is involved. Of course.
Hospitals are busy places, night or day, doesn't really matter there is always a flurry activity somewhere at the same time there are lulls as well where there is no activity at all, soemtimes this is due to unusual problem free days, and sometimes it is by design so that patients that are recovering can have their proper rest to most effectively do just that. Thus the reason for visiting hours and why sometimes when the person that one wants to see is being watched by the military one needs to slip past them when they are most off their guard...at night!
It'd taken a while to track the blond doll down, she'd begged and pleaded with the Elders to help her out and promised them a few things, namely absolute compliance with some undisclosed test of some sort. Not that, mattered now. Ibuki was going to get to see her friend after the horrible events that had happened and the massive nuclear blast she'd survived, the ninja had to know if Cammy was alright...and see if there was a way to help her out.
Crawling through the small space between the actual ceiling and the drop panels most considered the ceiling was delicate work and required a great deal of concentration, one wrong move could give her away or worse drop the ceiling on someone that was in not so great condition. But Ibuki is nothing if not skilled thanks to her teachers, navigating the slim space had be a bit challenging at times but as she silently removes a ceiling panel she grins as she notes that Cammy is at least in the room.
Dropping from the now open panel into the room Ibuki grins beneath her mask with relief and a bit of happiness to see her friend again, "Heya Cammy! You've definitely looked better but I'm glad you're okay." She sing songs happily, the appearance and cherriness might be a tad disconcerting and of course she might freak the cat out by actually surprising it!
Hospitals are boring places, and even with a cat to keep her company, right now she'd rather be anywhere else. She's rather curious what lies outside those windows, for example. But the nurses told her to stay put, so she is staying put, for now, at least.
But suddenly, things get exciting.
When Ibuki hops down from above the poor cat yowls a bit as Cammy jumps. And when the ex-doll jumps she doesn't mess around, either. Bedsheets and pillows go everywhere, and she ends up on the floor next to the bed with a mighty thump. The poor cat, who was content and in her lap, scurries off to a corner to hiss and spit.
"What th-... who are you??!" she asks, getting up. Her braids are undone for a change, so she has a huge mass of blonde hair all the way down her back, and in her patient smock too she really does look quite... different. Plus her blue eyes seem much more attentive than they ever seemed before. But while the eyes may be working the brain evidently is on vacation. "Are you with those Delta Red people?".
Ibuki does look kinda happy but her garb isn't exactly welcoming. No doubt she has a hundred knives hidden under there. And do friends really sneak in through false ceilings? So Cammy backs away a little, towards the door.
That entrance really hadn't gone as well as she'd envisioned it in her head. Cat hissing, Cammy freaked out and heading for the door. The ninja had to act quick and decisively if she was to end the problem before it began. Thus it was time to use the ancient art that puts most people at ease when you surprise them...sitting down! "Wow! You got the biggest room all to yourself, how awesome is that!" Ibuki chirps as she spins around and flops into one of the chairs for guests, with a flumph from the cushions being the only sound, "You don't know who I am? I'm not sure how to take that coming all the way to see you like I did." She grins beneath her mask, "But I'm just happy you're alright."
Ibuki firmly plants her ankle across the opposing knee as she sits, "As for the second question, I'll be happy to answer it and the first one more properly if you have a seat too!" Again she sing songs as she points at the bed, "Also sorry for surprising you and your kitty...it's just hard getting into this room unobserved from most ways." She rubs the back of her head in slight embarrassment, "I promise though I'm just here to talk and make sure you're okay."
It is true, flopping down into a chair does make things seem a little more casual. And she sounds kinda... valley girl ish. Not exactly threatening. So Cammy gathers the cat up, and busies herself making the bed again, before settling onto it. "No, I don't know who anybody is, I have amnesia apparently. Something about a nuclear weapon. I ... you don't really seem much like the others who were in here earlier.".
"Why did you have to break in in the first place?" she wonders. "It doesn't exactly seem very above board to me. Am I in trouble or something? The Colonel did say I could go if I wanted, and he seemed like a nice enough man. So... I think I'm okay?". She's frowning quite thunderously now though. What's going on here. Ninjas, soldiers, nurses... ugh. She can't work out what it all means, and - not knowing pisses her off! She clenches her fists unconsciously, and glances around the room with a moody look. Only the cat, who decides she wants attention again and leaps up onto her lap, brings her back to the present.
Ibuki relaxes a bit more as Cammy seems to relax, "Well that'd explain it. Granted I'm kinda sad I'm forgettable but if you forgot everything else...I suppose it's only fair I went with it too." The ninja can't help but smile seeing that Cammy is acting way more like a regular person than she ever has before, perhaps poking at her memories wouldn't be the best idea then, "Well that's probably because I'm not with them. I was one of your few friends, you even said so yourself. I'm not as regimented as those others...probably since I'm not military."
Ibuki chuckles, "That's easy to explain, firstly your room is being watched and I'm not too keen on being questioned by the MPs. Seconly I was hoping to give you a pleasant surprise but it seems like that didn't go as planned. Sorry about frightening you." She waves her hand, "That's because it's not Cammy, I doubt they would want me here. But friends are friends so I had to check on you one way or another." She shrugs, "But you look way happier than I've probably ever seen you so I'm glad you're being treated so well and that the Colonel is treating you well."
"Also I wanted to bring you a get well present that I doubt the staff would like me getting you." With that Ibuki produces a midsized container, places it on the nightstand between them and pulls the cover off to reveal a midsized cheesecake, "I think you'll like it!" She winks at her friend.
"My room is being watched?". Cammy isn't sure she likes the sound of that, and she glances over doorwards. "And we are friends?". She eyes Ibuki doubtfully. "You look a little... odd. I mean, those clothes. And how you jumped down from above, too. That was quite impressive. Oh! The Colonel did say something about me being an agent. Maybe I used to do that sort of thing too. Is that how we met?" she asks, half smiling, as this seems to make sense. "A rival agent, maybe?". Things making sense have been sadly lacking so far today. She glances down to look at her muscly arm, and then over at Ibuki, eyes narrowed slightly as she considers and compares. It would explain the muscly arms, too.
"Oh, what's that? food?". She sniffs at it. Mmmm. It smells way better than hospital slop anyway, so she nibbles on some, and judging from how her face lights up, she likes it. "I'm not sure I should be eating this..." she suddenly says, somehow, by chance perhaps, almost saying what she said word for word not a week ago. "The nurses are quite demanding around here.". But then, she shrugs, and noms on anyway. "I'm sure it can't do much harm anyway, compared to a nuke." she smiles, as she returns to her bed with the cheesecake. Which the cat promptly starts sniffing at. "Naughty kitty!".
"I'm sure it is more for your own good than anything else, you did say the Colonel was fairly nice right?" Ibuki wasn't sure she trusted this group yet but for the moment they were being good to Cammy and not treating her like a monster for being brainwashed by Vega, "Yes we are! Though most of the times we met before I didn't dress like this." She waves a hand over her clothes, "They are not very fashionable at all really." She laments with a frown, "From what I know, yeah you can do similar stuff but I'm a ninja and you're a..agent, similar but still different." Ibuki nods her head at that.
She then snorts and chuckles, "Nope, not rivals or anything like that. We met very much by accident, I was doing some work for my village and you were relaxing you offered me some cheesecake and we talked...after that we became friends pretty quick." Ibuki notes the comparing of arms silently for a moment, before chuckling lightly.
"It's cheesecake, a bit ironic given the story I just told you." Grinning again beneath her mask as Cammy tries the dessert. Ibuki rolls her eyes as Cammy starts to worry and the girl begins to realize Cammy just has a tendency to self punish/regulate. Though once Cammy gives in and starts eating the ninja grins, "That's the spirit!" Brown eyes fall on the cat, "So you weren't fibbing about liking cats I see." She pauses a moment before asking, "What's the kitty's name?"
Cammy looks gravely at Ibuki at the comments about lack of fashion. "Hmm. Well, I like the hair anyway, it's a nice touch." she offers. "I think I like long hair too. Though mine is completely unmanageable at the moment! I'd hate to have it cut though, I mean, if I had it that long before I'm sure it's really me, if you see what I mean. Ninja, okay.". She nods slowly. "I remember what a ninja is.".
"Cheesecake, well, it's good! It doesn't taste like cheese though. And, uh, the cats name?". She ponders for a moment, frowning. "I... don't know." she eventually says. "Colonel Wolfman didn't say. I'll ask him when he gets back." she adds, looking suddenly moody again. "This really is awful." she admits, putting the cheesecake to one side, and staring down at her legs, which are covered with the hospital smock, but are still noticeably rather huge. Are they really hers? How very odd.
"I can't wait to be out of here and doing something more productive than lying in a bed. I feel so useless in here. And... lost, somehow. But apparently the colonel has some sort of need of me, which is nice to know. I get the impression he knows me quite well, so I think he's telling the truth when he said I worked with him before.". A silence grows for a moment. "Strange that you don't know him in that case. Maybe it was a long time ago.". She looks thoughtful for a moment, wondering what must have been going on between then, and now.
"Thanks, I spend a lot of time keeping it up." Ibuki replies smoothly though she tilts her head at Cammy, "You normally braid it...at least every time I've seen you, you have." She smirks beneath her mask, "It's nice to see it down once though, maybe you and I can go out hunting for some cute boys sometime, between the two of us we should have a nice group to pick from!" She chuckles a bit more at that idea.
The ninja girl leans back in her chair and looks up at the ceiling tile, "Well just because it has cheese in the name doesn't mean it has to taste like that." She nods a few times, "Sounds like a good plan Camcam!" Ibuki chirps happily before Cammy's next words cause her to focus on her friend. Brown eyes snapping down to look at Cammy.
Ibuki is quite while her friend talks not sure exactly how best to respon or if she should at all to some of it. Warm brown eyes blink once, twice, and finally she sighs, "We didn't talk about your work much to be honest though sometimes it kinda got into the conversation in different ways, if it makes you feel better at all you seem happier than I can remember seeing you, ever really." She frowns beneath her mask, "There's more that I know but now isn't the time really you need to get well first, but in my opinion the situation you are in now is way better than the one you were in before." Ibuki then self consciously rubs her head, "I was trying to figure out how best to help you out but I really couldn't come up with anything...so in some ways it seems you kinda lucked out of a bad situation."
Cammy frowns. "I think I've got other things to worry about than boys, quite frankly." she tells Ibuki. I mean, really. Thats the last thing on her mind! That idea is clearly a bust. "And, alright." she says, sourly. "The nurses here don't like giving me answers either, and I've not really actually had a conversation with the colonel yet. I was too busy wondering who the hell he was. They all seem to think it best that I'm kept ignorant until I get better.". She may be happier, but she's far moodier than used to be. At least, more openly moody.
"I think I'm fine already.". She hops out of the bed, after nudging the cat off of her legs gently, to bounce gently on the balls of her feet. "See? I'm fine.". And she prowls around the room a bit, just to prove that she can, in fact, walk. She then reaches out for her beret, and pops it on her head. "All I need now is some proper clothes, and I'll be fit enough to be out of here." she declares.
Ibuki shakes her head, "I promise to tell you all I know, just not yet. You might be physically fine but..." She points to Cammy's head as she prowls the room, "Do you think your head is completely on right yet? I don't want to confuse you right now, I want to give you time to find out stuff on your own and figure out what you want to do." Ibuki retorts.
Ibuki can't help but giggle slightly at the beret not because it looks silly or anything like that but because it is so like what she used to wear it wasn't even funny. "Take some time, relax, and enjoy yourself...because you really weren't doing so before and I'm actually pretty happy to see you so relaxed and well open with your feelings." Then she frowns, "You are a workaholic though it seems...and I didn't mean right now about the boy hunting thing...I meant later." She sighs, "Get on to me for not treating you like you're well then blow off an awesome idea because now's not the right time." One warm chocolate eye regards Cammy while the other is shut.
It used to be a garrison cap. Now, it's a beret. Completely different!!! "I'm fine." she insists. "And it's not an awesome idea, it's a silly idea, I mean, when I have colonels nagging me and this morning I couldn't even remember my own name, chasing the opposite sex seems to be the least of my worries. The last thing I want is even more complication. And I'm sure even when I remember everything it'd still be a bad idea!".
Cammy is not into the whole boy chasing thing. In doll mode, or not.
"And I don't know about a workaholic, but hospitals are not the most fun places in the world, to put it mildly. Oh, I suppose if you've been out and around, you can tell me about that nuclear explosion thing at least, no? Nobody has even told me about that yet, beyond that I was in it.". She gives Ibuki a piercing interrogator stare. "I get the impression there's a war on, so not too surprising to have colonels underfoot and nuclear weapons going off, I suppose.".
"It totally is an awesome idea, you'll come around eventually!" Ibuki's words dripping with confidence, "Even if it is just to humor me." She then wags a finger at Cammy, "And again I want to point out that I said later not right now." Standing up Ibuki paces back and forth a bit obviously thinking about how best to respond to that.
She finally turns and looks at Cammy, "There is a war going on, that's certainly for sure. A madman with an inordinate amount of power and ability has attempted to take over the entire world...he's failing though." She shrugs, "That's pretty much all I know other than his last major line of defense was China and apparently he decided that blowing it up the area he was in when confronted was the best option." She then waves her hands open palmed at Cammy, "And that's pretty much all I know about that situation, if he'd tried a bit harder to take Japan, my village was prepared to face him and his forces but since the tide has turned we're staying out of it for now."
Ibuki then puts her hands on her hips and stares back at Cammy, "Fair enough? That's probably more info than you'd get from most people right now. Especially if they weren't there for the blast." She then turns her back and looks out the window, "You're lucky you're a friend. We charge a lot for that sort of information usually. But since you were there, injured, and now amnesic...you should get a free one."
"Hmm. Well, not much I didn't really know already... but thank you anyway." Cammy replies, not wanting to seem too waspish. "Maybe I will humour you. Maybe.". She has her stone doll face on when she says that though. Maybe not. Or if she did come along she probably wouldn't be the best of companions.
"And that does sound terrible. That must be what the colonel said when he said he needed me. Though I'm not sure what he expects me to do exactly". She shrugs, and returns to her bed, with a frown, climbing in under the covers. She's pretty sure Ibuki isn't going to stab her after all. "I guess alls well that ends well." she says uncertainly. "Do you know any of my other friends? Maybe I should contact them. Well, if you think it matters, I suppose. I'm not really sure how I would react.".
"Hmph, I'll remember that next time then." Ibuki frowns beneath her mask. Yeah Cammy probably won't realize it for a while but now she won't likely get free information from Ibuki again. With a slight eyeroll Ibuki stares back at the doll-face, "Yeah we'll see on that too." Ibuki has ways of making people have fun Miss Camcam, oh yes.
"There's lots of things going down really but it seems like it's all wrapping up." Ibuki says before turning back to look out the window. The ninja tilts her head over her shoulder as the blonde hops into the bed, "It's best not to worry about it at this point. I'm sure the full story will come out eventually." Then looks back out into the night, "As far as your other friends go, I knew of one but you had a serious falling out due to circumstances that will be explained when I give you that full explanation. Other than him...you didn't really tell me much about your other friends just that you had very few, though there is one I suspect you might call a...mentor or guradian of sorts."
"On the upside the fact that you had so few and you don't have your memory means you have a lot better chance of making a lot of new ones while you search for the old ones." Ibuki spins back to look at Cammy smiling slightly again beneath her mask.
"Hmm. Okay." she replies, simply. "You going to jump?" she asks, vaguely interested. That looks kinda cool. Maybe she can get out of here the hard way too, if she was so inclined. But she's not sure. And she doesn't want to jump out of a window without being sure. She sits up to watch the display of ninja mastery though, wondering whats going to happen. "Will there be smoke?" she asks, with a small smile. Hey, the ninja she has in her mind is quite stereotypical.
"A mentor. Well, that sounds interesting, I could use a mentor right now. And few friends. Okay. I guess I'm kinda... quiet.". She sighs a little at that, and frowns. Few friends? Great, it turns out that she's the one who has no friends.
Ibuki knocks on the glass, "And bust this leaving you a nice open window into the chilly night air and draw every guard in the place here when I went to all the trouble of getting in quietly?" Ibuki peers at Cammy over her shoulder, "Nope, not planning on jumping." One can almost imagine the tongue coming out of Ibuki's mouth with the way she says it. "Now smoke there might be some of that. But we'll see...I was actually just looking at the night's sky wondering if things might settle down for a while once this war is over. In case you were curious."
Ibuki nods tersely, "He and I don't see eye to eye about how we go about things, but I'll go and speak to him and see if I am right or wrong about my suspicions. If he isn't concerned about you then there is no point in having you meet him is there?" Ibuki shrugs, "Nothing wrong with being quiet, you might learn something and pay attention more if you aren't talking or thinking all the time about stuff, granted if you can learn to manage your distraction you can focus, talk, and think at the same time."
"Well I don't know what you have planned, I'm not a ninja after all." Cammy notes, with a small smile. "I am curious, is all! I was expecting something ninja-y. Maybe /I/ really am a ninja, too. I should pay attention, maybe it'll jar some memories. Smokebombs and things.". She scrunches her face up, trying to remember if she ever ran around in one of those ninja-suits. Mm... probably not..
Her face falls a bit at the mention of her mentor. "You don't like my mentor? That doesn't sound very good to me. Ugh. This is so confusing. Apparently I have a ninja who is one of my only friends, a mentor who doesn't like my only friend, some army colonel guy, and apparently I was wandering around a nuclear test range.". She just flops back into the bed, looking up at the ceiling. This is /awful/. "It really does sound rather complicated.".
"You'll see when I leave how I plan on doing it...or maybe you won't." Ibuki winks at those words. She then faces Cammy more directly, "I really don't think you were a ninja there were similiarities but there are major differences too." She steps close to the bed and hunches down after Cammy flops on it to be on eye level so Cammy can really see that she's being open and honest...
"Sometimes people important in your life might not like each other, he tried to force me to not be your friend. I had other ideas that's the long and short of our disagreement..he seems..." She bites her tongue, "Okay otherwise." She then tilts her head, "It's not so bad, I know it's confusing and not fun right now but give it time and it'll all work out somehow, I'm sure of it! Just relax and enjoy what little time you're going to have here to recover, I get the feeling the colonel has a number of plans for you to help out." Ibuki'd be keeping an eye on him that's for sure.
Cammy looks up. "Huh. Where did you go?" she asks. She knows she's near, though. And not being a moron, or apparently nearly as passive as she was when brainwashed, promptly jumps out of the bed to quickly peek under it with a smirk. Catching a ninja sounds like a challenge. Surely that enormous topknot would make stealth more difficult, too.
"It does sound like he does, yes..." she admits, as she stealthily creeps around the bed on all fours. "Thats fine. I think I rather like that notion. I like to feel wanted, and it's good to know I am not completely useless.". The ex-doll still likes having a "master" of /some/ sort. At least in a national military they are presumably rather more moral about it than Shadaloo. Well... most of the time, anyway.
Ibuki is for lack of a better term a living shadow, "Still here for the moment, but I'm about to leave." If Cammy were paying attention she'd notice the ceiling tile has already been replaced, the chair is growing colder by the moment, and she's basically hidden from view completely. "That's good, don't do anything bad though, if you are ordered to you can always say no." Ibuki says cautiously, "But right now it's time I let you rest, I'll get in touch with your mentor soon and let you know how it goes, till then!" With that she is gone.
If Cammy keeps searching for her all she'll find is a sheet of paper with a Japanese phone number on it and a short note 'Call me when you get a phone of your own! <3', well at least now Cammy can get in touch with Ibuki when she needs to it seems.
Cammy spends a goodly time circumnavigating the bed - to find out that she's apparently slipped away. But she heard her right over there! Maybe ninjas know ventriloquism or something. Eventually she notices the tile has been returned to it's normal spot. "Wow." she mutters, getting up to rub at her head a bit. "What an interesting individual. I hope all my friends are like that!" she mutters softly, while picking up the sheet of paper left on Ibuki's chair, and shaking her head with wry amusement.
She finds it rather hard to believe she was ever friends with that... boy chaser. Though she did seem very nice. Unless it was in a professional context, of course. That does sound fun! Throwing stars and things. She'll have to try it out with a tea saucer or something later on. She settles back into the bed, happier than she was before, though still confused.
