Reese - Misunderstandings of Epic Proportions (On Film)

Description: Caught on Film: A certain magician's assistant having a drink with an Irishman to discuss the possibility of extra money just for being filmed! Enter: Marius, with camera crew in tow, who misunderstands what's going on and deals with it in his best manner -- jealous and faito rage! Whoever's making these documentaries now has a LOT of personal fodder for some fighters.

It has been a rather crazy week for a certain Ikari. Two big time fights that resulted in two rather stiff beatings in the long run has left Faolan both abit sore, but also in a damn good mood. He has to say he is a bit confused by how things are turning out now. He had a day of downtime to just do whatever he wanted, but somehow got contacted by a regular opponent of his on SNF. How Reese got his info is beyond him, but in the end he decides it was just her coaxing it out of an official or something. It better not be Hicks. If so Hicks is getting a beating.

Given he was wandering about Sunshine City at the time of contact he just let the woman know to meet him at the Noise Factory. It isn't exactly his usual place to go, but at the same time that is why he is there. Just to kinda go to a place where he is bound not to get in trouble because he won't allow himself to get too rowdy in this sort of place. He has a pint of beer and a shotglass of whiskey next to it as he waits. One hand idly resting on his bata even if he has no plans to use it tonight.

Reese is //good// at what she does. What she //does// is find things. Be that information, items, tombs filled with jewels, if she wants it bad enough, she //will// find it. So it's not unsurprising that she could find Faolan's contact information. Grease a few palms, make a few calls, play up the charmed opponent angle, and the info was as good as hers.

But she'll never give up the name of the person who gave it to her. (Hicks)

"This really isn't my usual locale," the Aussie comments as she crosses the yellow and black dance floor. A pub, she likes those. Night clubs? Not bothered with them since college, and rarely bothered even then. Tapping her hand against the bar, she tilts her head. "Gimme a pint," she says to the bartender before turning to the Irish man. "So I've seen you've joined that new fight league. Heard you aren't doing too well."

The Irishman looks upwards when he hears the familiar voice and he looks over towards her. "Two guys that did well in the King of Fighters. One of em being a finalist. How do you think you would do?" he asks while giving a bit of a smirk before looking away. He can't help but wonder what the woman is up to. He isn't exactly the rich type and they are at best on just friendly terms and that is about it. Not to mention for some reason she still gets on his nerves, but that might be more given how she acts in a fight. Right now he finds himself less bothered in this sort of situation.

He finall reaches for his shot and downs it before leaning back in his chair and looking back over towards Reese. "So what was so important you actually had to find out how to get ahold of me?" he asks while tilting his head somewhat. "Couldn't wait for the next time they threw us both in a fight? They seem to be making that a monthly attraction anyways."

"Better than you," Reese says with a grin. Truth is, she'd likely not do well at all but she's willing to play up the game just to try and get under his skin. Twisting around so that she's leaning against the bar and can look at him directly, she tosses the ponytail over her shoulder. "Couldn't be that I was just interested in seeing you again, Irish?"

When her pint arrives, she lifts it up and takes a curiously dainty sip from it. Then she tilts her head. "A monthly attraction, hmm? Maybe they think we work well off one another. Draw two different demographics." Winking at him, she brings the mug up to her lips again, green eyes settling to his face.

"You hear about that documentary thing?"

Irish? He has a nickname now? That better not be something that catches on. He supposes he has been called far worse by women so it seems he is going to let things slide for now. "Psh, yeah. Maybe if you had a sandstorm helping you." he comments and he does well at keeping a good poker face despite the fact she sees to be trying to work her magic on him to see what kind of reaction she might get. Of course part of the whole thing is he manages to just keep his gaze away from her.

He is about to comment on the drawing of demographics when she asks a rather random question. "Documentary? Like on the History Channel or something?" he asks. It seems like the guy doesn't really watch alot of television in this case. He only ever really sees replays of his matches that are televised because the other Ikari like to either congratulate him for winning or tease him for losing.

The fact that he's keeping his gaze away from her //is// rather amusing to the Aussie. Reese keeps her green eyes on him, refusing to look away as she takes another dainty little sip from her pint. Licking a bit of the liquid off her lips, she tilts her head curiously. "Maybe. Wonder if they market those. Pocket sandstorms so I can attack random opponents with them."

Smirking, she shakes her head, setting the mug on the bar. "Crikey, it's not like I asked the blokes what channel they were working for." Beat. "Someone's interested in marketing fighters after that issue in China. They're offering a //lot// of money to follow fighters around, so far as I can understand. Document it. Follow their every day lives. That sort of thing."

The Irishman listens to the explanation then he glances over. "There is a mark...." then he remembers people watch Jersey Shore. "Oh right, people will watch anything." he comments and takes a long drink from his own glass before setting it down. "Well money is good and all, but I am kinda part of an organization that isn't gonna be allowing some mooks with microphones and cameras onto the base just to follow someone around. No matter how cool Ralf might find it." It is probably a good thing Heidern has the final say on those sort of things.

"So you called me up to ask me about some documentary thing?" he asks and looks slightly confused by it all. Oh god, is she one of those weird ladies with alot of cats? He is going to be stalked, isn't he?

"Apparently so." Tapping her fingers on the mug, she raises her brow. "That organization that was filling the pub where we fought?" Reese takes another sip of the pint, then nods. "Alright. You're not interested. Then again, you could always ask the crews not to follow you into the base." Beat. "They could double tape the fights, talk to you about them, and you get paid twice." It really does seem like a nice scam.

"What? You thought I was calling you up to ask you on a date?" Good lord, he doesn't think she's //interested// does he?

He just stares for a long time. Did she really just think he is that interested? Sure she is the type that will punch him in the face, but he has met alot of women like that from various walks of life. He just hasn't found the one. "Think rather highly of yerself. I deal with one woman with whips and guns enough in my life. Don't need two." He will let her interpret that as she wants. It will probably come back and bite him on the ass.

He gives a shake of his head after he lets his brain get back on track to the subject at hand. "Why are you interested in me taking them up on an offer? What do you get out of it?" She has to be getting something. She doesn't seem like the type that would just give an idea without having some sort of motive or the like. "Besides, the money isn't what I fight. I make plenty of that already. I just enjoy the thrill of it all. That and it keeps my senses sharp." Well....as long as he isn't beaten unconcious.

"No, but I'm certain you think highly of //yourself// if you were thinking //that//." Reese takes another small sip from the mug, then shakes her head. "You're not my type, Irish." Beyond the fact that he's a decent fighter, she gets the feeling he's not sneaky enough to keep her interest for more than the time it takes to end a match.

"I'm not. Was just curious if you'd heard about it." Beat. "I get nothing but the thrill of watching you getting beaten more often." Her eyes twinkle just a little. "In sandstorms, maybe."

It's true, Reese was quite talented at what she did- She was practically a swiss-army knife for information, and certain magicians are well aware of it. But today it wasn't about Faolan. It wasn't about Reese. No, today was about Marius Kirisame, whom was riding through Sunshine City on a whim, curious to see if the environment matched it's name.

He wasn't disappointed, but he wasn't very impressed either.

The other thing to note, however, was that Marius was being trailed by a small television crew of four people. And after parking he strolled right into Noise Factory. "The nightclub isn't exactly my venue of choice, but even an established individual such as myself can't ignore the fact that great musicians can be found anywhere." Marius speaks in his usual quick pace. "The art of fighting can sometimes be seen as a dance. And one cannot dance without ryth-" he suddenly comes to a stop as his gaze, almost immedietly, falls upon Reese and Faolan. Oh -HELL- no. A frown forms, and he wastes little time rushing over in their direction, in which she'd then take the woman by the arm and drag her away from Faolan.

And here he thought she was rather annoying when he is having to deal with her in a fight. He is starting to think he prefers being shot in the face by her or the like. "Yeah, whatever. Yer not my type either so at least we agree on something." he says while rubbing a bit at the bridge of his nose and signaling to get himself another shot. He is going to need it if the conversation is going to go this way. Then something out of the blue happens. Some random guy grabs Reese and attempts to start dragging her off. It is almost something of a relief, but the same time you don't do that to a woman.

"Hey, fella." Faolan says rather loudly just so Marius can hear him. Then again it causes most people nearby to pay attention to as the Ikari stands up. "She might be a pain in my ass, but we were having a conversation." he explains. He isn't planning on being violent, but the fact he is still gripping his bata out of habit makes it look like he might be looking for trouble. "So let her go and be a nice little boy."

Reese notices Marius as he comes in, if only because she's leaning against the bar as she is. She //also// notices the camera crew, and groans. The whole point of agreeing to meet Faolan here was because she was trying to hide from the crews for just a //few// minutes. She's barely got time to finish her pint before Marius is trying to drag her off and she nearly spills the remainder on herself.

"What in the bloody hell do you think you're doing, mate?"

The Aussie isn't sure which of the men she's talking to at the moment.

"Let go of me," she says, shaking her arm free from Marius' grasp. Then she's quickly turning a smile to the cameras. "Just having a pint with a friend. No need for all this fuss, //Mars//."

"What am -I- doing? What are -you- doing?" Marius immedietly hisses back to Reese with an annoyed scowl. When Reese snags her arm back, the man doesn't put up a fuss of taking it back since he's made an 'acceptable' distance between the pair. He tilts his tophat upward, "I can't keep my eyes off of you for -one- moment, can I? I've told you, I've told you -repeatedly- that man over there is nothing but trouble for our image, haven't I? And yet here you ar-" he pauses as he hears Foalan calls out, and replies almost immedietly, turning at the hips to point a gloved hand at the Ikari.

"You are correct, bartender, you -were- having a conversaion. 'Were' as in 'past tense'. You may go back to spitting in your patoon, or whatever it is your type does." and then back to Reese. "Now where was I? Ah, yes, you getting into trouble again. Just another day in my life, isn't it?"

Friend? Oh great, she just had to say something like that on camera. Not only that who the heck does this guy think he is? Did he really just start spouting such nonsense acting like he knew something about Faolan? Once again the Irishman plays a pretty good pokerface at this point and he just steps over a bit closer. "So is this how you treat the friends of uh...." he looks to Reese as if wondering what their relationship is. Hell, he has never met this guy. "Manager?"

He can't see him being much else. He is tiny, loud and childish. Certainly Reese couldn't be involved with him any other way. "Anyways. We would like to go back to our conversation now so just tell the crew to come back when your client is ready." Holy hell did he just try to help shoo the crew away from Reese so she can get some peace. She might just owe him a drink of that is the case.

"//I// am having a pint, with a friend," she repeats for Marius, who quite obviously didn't hear her say it to the camera only seconds ago. Granted, calling Faolan a //friend// is going a bit overboard, but that's entirely beside the point. "What man? Irish? When have you //ever// said that? More to the point, since when is it any of your business who I talk to at a bar?" Last she checked, they weren't dating and they're //definitely// not married.

"I apologize," she says turning to Faolan with a roll of her eyes. "He's not my manager. He's..." A sigh. "It's complicated, but at the moment I do suppose 'boss' would be the correct term. I work as his assistant when he's not throwing tantrums at random strangers." Beat. "Let me buy you a drink to make up for it."

Marius raises a brow in response to Reese's first words as if it was some sort of foreign language. Honestly, why does this woman have to give him such a hard time? Why, God!! ".. You're having a pint with me? That's alarmingly generous of you," he replies, seeming honestly surprised.

When he looks back to Faolan, suddenly he seems a lot taller and Marius has to remove his hat to look up properly- Yet he didn't seem impressed. "I'm afraid that isn't happening, there are three things important in lift: 'Schedule' 'Image' and 'Control'. You cannot have the first two without the last, by the by." with a flick of his wrist, a black cane appears in his hand, and he tried to press the flat against the Ikari's arm as if to brush him aside, "Your services are only needed behind the counter at this point, thank you very much."

Then back to Reese, "Of course I've told you, you've fought him a number of times. I said specifically 'sih egats ecneserp si retsulkcal'."

Of course the camera crew is silent and eating this all up. Who doesn't love -DRAMA-??

Oh that probably isn't a good idea. The cane can be pressed all it wants against Faolan. It is like pushing it against a wall in this case and the Ikari isn't budging at all. That is until there is a mention of a drink and something about Marius being a complication. "You work for....that?" He asks while looking to Marius for a few moments. Oh god, he is doing his best to try and not laugh at that sort of situation. "Dare I ask who you pissed off to deserve that?" he asks and he soon forgets about the smaller man.

He starts to turn to head to the bar along with Reese and just leave the smaller man and the camera crew be for now. There is booze to be had so the night is really starting to look up. "Looks like ya need that pocket sandstorm right about now." he comments offhandedly as he goes to take a seat back on his stool and reach for the shot that was poured for him while he was distracted.

"It's a long story," Reese mutters as Faolan asks his question. "I need more than a pint to tell you about that."

Turning back to Marius, and beginning to think this is a bit of a tennis match, the Aussie dips her head down with a sigh. "No. I'm having a pint with the Irish." Beat. "You're interrupting a conversation." Beat. "One can have all three of those things, and I obviously have a great deal of control as I'm the one trying //not// to cause a scene."

Then a glance back at Faolan, and a grin. "Admittedly, his stage presence needs work, but I //hardly// think it's lackluster." Another pause, then under her breath she mutters, "Looks that way. No anyone I can borrow it from?"

Marius opens his mouth and then faulters. It would seem that Reese earned a point, as the magician was just left with a frown after that. After a few seconds pass, he replies, ".. I'm not causing a scene." he replies to the air, replacing his hat. But what does get on his nerves is getting laughed at- That.. Certainly puts a crack in his cool. The -nerve-!

"-Excuse me-," he utters, annoyance clear in his tone, unable to believe that Reese actually went back with the other man. Just a 'friend' was he? Suddenly Marius was growing doubtful, and with that doubt came jealousy. He makes an effort to get between Faolan and Reese, staring the Ikari right in the eyes, "I will have you know that I am 'Mars Mystique', the greatest magician in the -world-. I amount to more than you could ever hope to achieve, thank you very much. Also, you're wasting your time. Alice is out of your league, Are we clear?"

If only Marius knew everything was far from the truth. If anything the two are rivals of a sort at least when it comes to showing up on television and the like. If he heard the prior conversation he would know that Reese was mostly getting on the Irishman's nerves. In fact if the wannabe star wasn't making such a fuss Faolan wouldn't be pestering him and annoying him by talking to Reese more and sharing a drink with her. In the end Faolan is innocent needless to say. At least he is in his own mind.

He doesn't make it to his stool though. Before he even gets there Marius is in his way and trying to act like he is the man. "Alice?" he looks to Reese and now he has even more questions before he looks back to Marius. "Never heard of you." he simply states. Hey, it's the truth. "See, fella..." he begins while moving to put a arm around the shoulders of the much smaller man and he looks to the camera. "I'm an Ikari Warrior. That means I have a big boy job and I save the world while you play with toys. I get shot, stabbed, caught in explosions and many other things for a living." The hand on Marius' shoulder tightens its grip just a bit more. "So frankly I could give two tugs on a dead dog's willy on yer magic act. Now me and your friend are going to finish having our drink and coversation." he just smiles wide and waves to the camera before releasing Marius and moving back to his stool.

Honestly, Reese would groan at the entire thing if she were still paying attention. The moment Faolan moves to put his arm around Marius' shoulder, she makes her way back to the bar and orders another pint. Then she quickly hops up on a stool and spins around to watch the two men interact while she enjoys small sips from her beverage.

It would seem that she's inadvertently brought Faolan to the attention of the documentary makers //anyhow//, so that could be a bonus. Though she's pretty sure he'd just as likely smash the camera if they tried to follow him into the base. Glancing at the bartender, she whispers, "Get me another of whatever the Irish was having before we were interrupted, stick it on my tab."

"Yes, -Alice-," Marius replies, though his accent makes it sounds like 'Ah-reese'. And of course being a stageman, the magician really has no qualms with doing what it takes to make his points; outlandish as they may be. He's fairly single-minded when it comes to confrontation. There's a brief moment of 'not-really-buddy-buddy' time, his hat falling over his eyes from the gesture. Ikari Warrior? As in -those- Ikari warriors? It goes without saying he's not exactly a huge fan of either of them if he isn't down with Faolan. He even cringes at the squeeze, 'Ow'. "..." What did he think of those words? "Interesting.. 'Save the World'? You amuse me, my good man. What I do is far more important than what your lot 'claim' to do. We'll simply have to agree to disagree."

He twirls his cane, and points it sharply at Faolan. "I will not have my Alice mixed up with your lot. Stay away from her, or I will be forced to make you believe in magic."

The sad part is things could have been over. Faolan was done with his talking and he was ready to have his drink and even thank Reese for it. Then Marius did one of the few things that is a big no-no when talking with Faolan. You don't diss his favorite soccer team and you absolutely don't make fun of his profession. As crazy and wild as the Ikari are they are a prideful lot. They enjoy what they do and people often don't understand just how good of a thing it is that this mercenary company exists. He certainly won't stand for Marius trying to say some magic show is more important than what he does.

He stands there a moment with his back to Marius and then he just grins a bit slyly as his hand grips the bata rather tightly. He turns around and is all smiles as he steps over to Marius. "Well I apolog-" HEADBUTT TO THE FACE.

Reese sputters and nearly chokes on the sip she was taking when she hears Marius call her //his// Alice. She stares at the magician for a very long time, then realizes that Marius is about to get headbutted to the face.

And she winces.

"Good lord, you two! A bar brawl? Honestly!" The Aussie definitely doesn't seem to be moving too quickly to help either man. She just glances at the cameras, then nods toward the men.

Marius quirks a brow again, free hand stroking his chin while he curiously looks over the big man. There was little doubt in his mind that if he got his hands on him, it wouldn't be very fun. But he was also under the assumption that between the two, the magician would be throwing the first strike so he ends up smiling in return- And then throws his left foot back, shifting to the side as if he were dodging a bullet. Or in this case, dodging a missle. "Sleight of hand is more my forte," he notes, and with that he grips his cane with both hands, leaps into the air and slams it down as hard as he possibly can (on such short notice) against the back of the Ikari's head. And ignores Alice's comment because really, she knows what he'd say. 'It isn't a bar brawl'. "You will learn many things today, perhaps one of them will be 'how pointless what you do is'; once you feast your eyes upon the greatest show on Earth." as he says this, four orbs flicker into existance, about the size of softballs, and they orbit him. One of them looks like Earth. SYMBOLISM.

So the surprise didn't go as planned. He will make the little weasel pay soon enough. What Marius might not expect is the quickness in which the Ikari manages to shift his weight and turn to where the cane slams against a shoulder and elicits just a bit of a grunt of annoyance. He then hears Reese's complaint and he looks over his shoulder. "Hey, if I win it will be fun. I'll buy us shots!" he calls back and has a grin that a kid in a candy store would have. It also keeps his attention away from Marius for a moment

A moment that is quickly up as the Ikari turns about and he thrusts his bata forward, the staff quickly coming towards Marius' chest to deliver a blow. Not only that once it touches there is a electrical shock from the black energy that had gathered at the tip.

"If you wi -- no, no. You bloody stop it right now," Reese calls out at them before taking another dainty little sip from her mug. Then she sets it on the bar, and glances to Marius. Then to Faolan. Then back again. "Fine, shots."

Even though she //agrees// it doesn't mean that the Aussie is just going to sit back and watch the two men fight over her, or fight because of her, or fight simply because they're men and filled with testosterone and the need to show off. "At least don't break anything! That ten thousand may not cover all the damage!"

You'd think Reese would be used to it by now; isn't Marius always fighting Reese in one way or another? Ok, this was a bit different but still! Marius is hardly the poster child for 'macho' though; he's simply stubborn. He didn't expect Faolan to recover so quickly, attempting to brush the attack aside and gets a powerful slam to the chest for his efforts, "OOF!"
He goes staggering backward, wheezing all the while- It almost was like getting hit by a hard drink with that electic sensation. Only drinks wont leave a bruise.

"The only thing broken tonight, will be this gents' spirit." Marius flashes a smile, and goes into 'showman' mode, "It's showtime! As you can see, there's nothing in my hat.." With a rush forward, Marius removes his hat and makes an attempt to swing it mouth first at his larger opponent's chin. However upon contact it literally explodes with 'magical' energy, stars and sparks flying from the initial bang. "Well, except for that."

The Irishman just nods when there is an agreement to shots. He certainly isn't fighting over her or for her. This is more the fact that Marius insulted the Ikari name and what they do. That is one of the more dangerous things a man, or woman, can do when around a member of the actual mecenary group. Sometimes it is even a bad idea when they aren't around because one might just explode through a wall and attack. That is how they roll.

Faolan doesn't seem too impressed with the hat either as it is swung his way. Enough that he is actually stepping forward and into the swing without much of a care. It seems the explosion of energy is enough that it makes him stumble back a step and really just end up looking annoyed by it all. "Think you are cute, Mary?" he asks and he steps forward once again and both hands grip the bata this time as he intends to slam it right into the stomach of the other fighter. "I got drinks to have. Quit wasting my time." He also offers another delicious taste of the shocking effects of the black energy siphoning through his bata as well.

COMBATSYS: Reese has joined the fight here in the center.

Mary? Did the Irishman just call Marius... //Mary//? Reese would giggle at that, she really would. Not because it's a brilliant insult but because she knows how Marius is going to react to it. Even so, she's not going to stand idly by like a dazzled young woman who's going to swoon over the fact that there is a fight and for whatever reason she's the center of it. "Crikey! Marius Kirisame! That is enough!"

Hands on either hip, she glares at the magician for a long moment. Then she balls one hand up into a fist and thrusts it toward his chest in order to try and push him back from Faolan.

"Having a drink with a //friend// is no reason for you to act like this! Especially since we are no longer a couple!"

Oh Reese, why do you never do as you are told? Your job is to do what Marius says! That is what he would say if he weren't so occupied with Faolan. Though she was going to be a problem for him soon enough JUST AS SHE ALWAYS DOES. The Ikari's comment was enough to crack the professional smile on Marius' face, "E- E- Excuse me??" he asks, voice cracking. Sure, he doesn't look as manly as Faolan but that was too much!

A bead of sweat falls down the side of Marius' face- clearly flustered by the comment, and as the weapon was swung, one of his orbs surrounded the tip of his cane and the moment the energies clashed, the black energy practically exploded in his opponents face. Or chest. Wherever. "That.. That is -not- my name!" he hissed, not catching Renee's punch until the last moment in which he quickly shifts his upper body sideways to evade the blow, then push the Aussie forward, "There's no reason to bring -that- history into this! I will and always shall fight for love! So stop being a pest!"

"Wait, you two are a..." Whack. Faolan should really concentrate on more important things than a conversation at this point. Not that it might have prepared him for whatever Marius just did. It happened so fast he still isn't sure what hit hin to be honest. He just tchs lightly as he stands there and he rubs at his chin a bit in thought then looks from one to the other. "You really were with that guy? No offense. We may not get along well, but even I would say you can do better than that." he comments and looks over towards his shot. Oh why is it so far away?

"All right. You want to get all fancy with me, Mary?" he asks while he takes a deep breath and both hands grip an end of his bata. He narrows his eyes some and his demeanor turns much more serious as he spreads his feet and stands tall with the bata held out arm's length away from his chest. "We can do fancy."

COMBATSYS: Faolan gains composure.

"//No//." Reese //really// iterates that word. Then she turns to Marius and //glares// at him. "And I am not." The whip is unhooked from her hip. The next few words are accentuated by a snakekiller technique aimed at Marius' shins. "Being." Snap. "A." Snap. "Pest." Snap. Snap. Snap. Snap.

"We //were//," she explains to Faolan. "A few years ago." Turning back to Marius she shakes her head at him. "You're fighting a friend of mine, because I was //talking// to him, and you call that //love//?"

The cameras are just eating this up. It'll make for a good documentary portion -- fighters who have complex lives outside of fighting, which cause more fighting.

Of course that was Marius' intent- For Faolan to not have the slightest clue what happened with his sleight of cane. "Fancy? Well, I -am- a magician, after all." he replies, still seeming a touch shaken. But there goes that 'nickname' again and the fighter looks increasingly aggravated. "Don't -call- me that!" he starts to rush forward when Reese cuts him off with her weapon. Some would pay to be in his position. Marius isn't one of them. He's unable to find a proper path to slip out of the way, the weapon cracking upon his person and a tears coming across his pants. "ALICE! He is -not- your friend!" he yells as he falls onto his side.

Which he turns into a tumble, and regains, "Now be a good girl and sit down and be -quiet-!" With that said, he slides, right under Faolan's legs and attempts to suplex the soldier. NOt without a moment of strain of course.

COMBATSYS: Faolan interrupts Medium Throw from Marius with Jig Kick.

What the hell is with this guy? He has never even heard of the little pipsqueak and he is acting like he is some sort of Hollywood star. Now his curiousity is getting the better of him and he has to wonder how the hell this guy and Reese ever got along. Sure they are both annoying in their own certain way, but at least Reese seems like she has a decent head on her shoulders. Was she desperate or something? It is too much to ponder really. It is enough that he soon finds Marius is actually trying to lift him up and it causes him to look very very confused.

Then it happens. He just reaches to start prying the hands apart that are wrapped arond him and he rears back to kick behind him and in between the legs of Marius in a not too fancy move at all. If anything it will probably make Marius think twice about grappling the Irishman again. Hopefully he has no plans for children in the future either.

"Now be a good girl and be quiet?" Reese visibly twitches. Where she was mildly annoyed before and attempting to get Marius to stop acting like a grade 'A' arse, now she's actually upset. She's so angry, even, that she misses Faolan kicking the poor magician in the groin.

"You don't get to choose my friends for me! You bleeding well don't get to treat me like a child, or some poor 'kept' wife!" Since the snakekiller seemed to work so well moments before, she lashes the whip out at Marius again, this time in a quick volley of attacks at different points on his body -- shins, thighs, torso, arms -- anywhere she can try and sneak a crack of the whip in.

COMBATSYS: Marius dodges Reese's Whip Strata.

That was a rather douchy thing for Marius to say, and he knows it. But Reese was getting on his nerves and in his mind, insulting her seems to be the only way to get him to listen to her anyway. It really is a messed up relationship. Disfunctional, even. "Reese.. Now.. Ngh. Is -not- the ti- AURGH MY GROIN!!" the magician doubles over and staggers back with his hands over his crotch, eyes crossed and face red as a beet. It's actually really silly seeing the way me manages to dodge Reese's strikes, he literally MC Hammering across the room before falling over with tears running down his cheeks and making his facepaint run a bit.

Oh he was going to pay for that. SO hard.. And he took a moment to concentrate his energies, making his orbs of magic glow more intense, "RRghh!"

COMBATSYS: Marius focuses on his next action.

There is a light tch from the Irishman as he shakes his head. "Is he always like this or do the cameras just make him think he is God's gift?" he asks Reese and seems rather surprised at how she is actually lashing out and attacking Marius too. Then again he can't really blame her given the fact he has probably been meaner to her than the Ikari over time. He has to wonder how this guy even got a woman to begin with. He supposes it is always the little men that are the insecure ones.

He just sort of watches Marius stagger away and somehow avoid the strikes from Reese and he then notices the man trying to show off. "Oh that is how ya want to play?" he asks and that grin slips across his face again as he takes a stance much like earlier. Only this time instead of just staying still and taking a few deep breaths there is a crackling noise as the black energy that usually swirls around his bata starts to also climb up around his arms and snake about. "Lets play."

COMBATSYS: Faolan gathers his will.

"I..." Reese seems stunned by the question, not at all certain how to answer it. Marius //is// generally over the top, but not often //this// bad unless it's during a fight, or a heist. Not that there can be any heisting going on with cameras around them all the time, which //is// sort of putting a cramp in things. Then again, the money's been nice and easy so she can't really complain all that much.

Right. Back to Faolan's question, and the Aussie just shrugs. Really, she can't answer it all that much.

Then there back to their measuring contest, and she throws her hands up into the air. Rolling the whip up, she secures it to her belt again, and makes her way to the bar to finish her pint.

COMBATSYS: Reese takes no action.

Marius would not be happy if Faolan did something to seperate him and Reese. Though that goes without saying. But if he could read thoughts, he wouldn't be suprised that a beefy soldier couldn't understand how he gets the girl. "I'm right -here-," he mutters, "Though to be fair, I wouldn't answer your question anyway.." he felt a little better, but there was going to be serious discomfort from this point. However he does look annoyed. So -Faolan- can hush her up, can he? "So -aggravating-! It's time to close the curtain!"

Marius makes two swings with his cane, capturing two orbs, swings them over his head, and then launches them in Faolan's direction, combiing into one, large, golden orb with trailing sparkles. With the sharp whistle of a firecracker, it bobs on course with the intention of exploding upon impact like a showy firework. "Why shouldn't I be so confident? I'm -successful-!" Sort of.

COMBATSYS: Marius successfully hits Faolan with Double Spark.

The thing is he isn't shushing Reese up. The woman wouldn't shush if he told her to either. He knows that all too well from the times he has had to fight the Aussie. She damn well does what she wants until you just knock her unconcious. Only then do you really get any sort of break. Not that he would say such a thing at the moment. She is buying him a pint afterall. The orbs sail towards the Irishman and he stands his ground. The guy might just be crazy for not trying to even get out of the way. Even so he is nailed and there is a alot of pretty lights going off around the big man.

Once the sparks and color and all that die down Faolan is still standing where he is. Granted the energy seems to have gone away from his arms and seems to barely be moving along the bata, but he does not look happy to say the least. Even as he lurches forward and he brings the bata up to do the most simple of things. He just brings it down on the top of Marius' head. *DONK*

The Aussie archaeologist continues to sip from her mug, watching the interactions. There's a slight wince when the fireworky orbs hit the Irishman, and then a frown. The rest of the liquid is quickly downed, and the mug bounced back and forth between her hands. //Sure// she told the men to be careful and not break anything, but this is a case of 'do what I say, not as I do'.

The mug is lobbed at Marius as hard as Reese can throw it.

"//This// is why you were living in that rundown trailer, you know. You chase away any friends you have." Beat. "You could just stop this mess and join us for a pint, but instead you make a mess of things." Beat. "Like always."

COMBATSYS: Faolan successfully hits Marius with Medium Strike.

Marius doesn't know that though, and he's quite fine with jumping to his own conclusions! That is one of the advantages of always being 'right', you see. The magician can't help but look a bit amused by his dazzled opponent, though his breathing is getting a touch heavy- Perhaps he put too much into this match? Either way, once Faolan is on the attack again, Marius seems to have the same train of thought, slipping a little to the side, but trying to stay close enough to counter-attack but that doesn't work too well as he takes it along the skin of his back rather than the back of his head, which places him further out of position.... Yet inthe pefect position for his eyes to bug out when the mug smashes against his skull with a satisfying *kssh*! "Ugh! -That-, was below the belt, young lady!" that little pain in the butt! He'd say he doesn't -need- friends, but this is a fight, not a Magical Girl drama!

Closing the distance upon Faolan again, the magician charges forward then backlips into a double legged kick- A poor mans Flash Kick if you will. But it does look very cool as sparkles trail his path.

COMBATSYS: Marius successfully hits Faolan with Luminous Strike EX.

Well that is teamwork for you. Even if really it isn't so much that. Is it enough to knock some sense into Marius? It certainly doesn't look like it since he doesn't seem to take a hint and walk away. Instead he is coming right for the Irishman for another strike and like any good Ikari, Faolan is stepping right into the kick. The kick lands firmly and it staggers Faolan again and robs him of his attempt at just barreling forward and causing trouble for the other fighter.

With a slight grump he decides not to rush forward again. If the guy is going to keep him from bull rushing so much he will just change tactics. Not like Marius is the only one that can summon orbs. In fact the blackish looking chi that Faolan controls is forming into little globes that are breaking off and forming a small circle. It looks to be about seven overall are made as the Irishman and holds up his Bata and points it towards Marius. "Yer lucky she doesn't throw more than that. She shot me in the face once." he comments as the orbs start to drive towards Marius and then converge to form a large ball that looks to roll right over the magician.

"All's fair in love and war, mate."

Reese stands by what she said earlier -- he could've simply come and joined them for a pint, and this little screwed up scenario wouldn't be happening. The sparkle-kick is given a slight shake of the head, and the Aussie reaches into her pocket and drops some money on the bar for the mug as it seems to have dropped to the floor and shattered.

"Are the two of you bonding now?"

She stalks back toward them, not really in any hurry to join in the fray again.

COMBATSYS: Reese takes no action.

"NO!" Marius very quickly shoots back to Reese. If she thought this was going to end in some sort of Manly Handshake, she had another thing coming! One thing Marius was not expecting though, was energy to come flying from Faolan like that- Oh, he was sure he was capable of -some- sort of projectile but that was a little too impressive.

Luckily, Marius considered himself more impressive. "Well that was unexpected," he mumbles, and his wand captures all 4 of his orbs, creating a massive ball in itself. Pointing the cane forward, he unleashes a massive pillar of white energy, which tears through it's opposition and proceeds to barrel its way toward his opponent!

COMBATSYS: Faolan fails to interrupt Final Master Spark from Marius with One for the Road.

There is a slight grump that comes from the Ikari as he finds his own release of energy overtaken by a blast of Marius' own. "Screw this." he just mutters and he barrels forwards intending to just go through the blast and right towards Marius. He was just underestimating just how much power was in that blast from the magician because he never reaches the latter. Something Marius should be very thankful for. Instead the Ikari is blown back and about the only luck of the Irish Faolan has tonight is the fact he lands on the barstool near his shot and pint.

"I am starting to see why you got issues." he tells Reese while looking slightly annoyed. HIs hand reaches for the shot and he takes it. "Do you think he'll leave if we ignore him and drink?" he asks and actually looks like if he got up out of the seat he might actually just up and fall over. Ikari always gotta try and play it tough, though and he does his best to pretend he is just losing interest in it all.

The stalking toward them stops immediately when she sees Faolan blown back on the barstool. Reese blinks, staring at Marius, eyes narrowed. She's half a mind to draw the gun and shoot off a volley of energy at him but... they're in the middle of a nightclub and pulling out a gun means that people are going to panic. Panicked people are going to call the police. The police will come, and ruin her night.

Instead of doing that, she continues stalking right up to Marius, fist in a tight little ball as she slams it toward his gut in a brawly manner.
"So not called for, mate!"

Beat.

"We //will// discuss this later. I'm going to finish my chat with the nice Irishman at the bar, got it?"

Without waiting for his response, she makes her way back to the bar. Once there, she glances at Faolan. "Are you hurt at all? Let me at least cover your tab for the night, yeah?"

COMBATSYS: Reese successfully hits Marius with Medium Punch.

"H- Hah.. Just goes to show, you cannot out-show a showman," Marius murmurs, not entirely certain what Faolan was about to do, but obviously very pleased that he managed not to get caught up in it. There was little doubt in his mind that the scale for some reason was tilted in his favor to score this victory.. And to do the damage he did regardless was a touch unsettling. But then Faolan does something to -really- get on his nerves and that's ignore him outright. He hates that more than being called 'Mary', "Excuse me.. EXCUSE ME! Don't you -dare- take this victory from me, you overgrown tank! You recognize me as the victor this instant!" he yells, face reddening again and nostrils flaring.
Ah but what's this? It'd appear that Reese would be coming to not only raise his hand in the air, but also return back with him. He couldn't blame her really, "Yes, well, I'm not exactly known for holding back now, am I- MMMPH!" the magician doubles over, holding his gut tight and stumbles. Well.. Really. He should have seen that coming. And then back to the Irishman. This was absolutly not the ending he felt he deserved; this was supposed to be much happier, "I did this for -you-, you.. Ungrateful woman!" he spits out to Reese between wheezes as the camera zooms in on him.
He spits to the side and notices the camera still on, "Don't record this you fool! Get out of here!" he yells, pressing his to the lens and shoves the crewman back while making his way to stumble out of the nightclub. Oh they were going to discuss things later all right!
