It's Tuesday night and you know what Mr. Jones is going to do? Why what he does every night, Pinky. Party at the Duck Pond!
Mr. Jones has caused quite the stir recently with all his successful matches at the Duck Pond. One could say that his busted movie start career was the best thing that could happen to him. Not only has he appeared on national television several times now, he is now getting dangerously close to champion of SNF with his streak of wins. Not too long before he gets the belt. Or are they even giving out belts? Who knows. Thing is Mr. Jones is in a remarkably good mood tonight, at least more than his usual happy go lucky self, and decides to party at his favorite disco.
But what's this? As the retro martial artist enters the Duck Pond, he finds that it doesn't have the usual techno beat, but something more...tribal? Is that Brazilian music? "Heeey, what gives??" Jonesy asks taking off his shades and look curiously at the change of atmosphere. Wonder what's going on? Duck didn't tell him about an upcoming fight here, otherwise he would have arrived earlier.
Tuesday night in Southtown can mean anything any everything can happen. No matter where you go or what you're doing, there's always something happening. Movies, entertainment, you name it, you can find it. And at The Duck Pond tonight, there just so happens to be a local celebrity who's doing her best to show off her abilities and teach it to other people too.
Who is this celebrity you ask? Why it's none other than the cute dynamo named Momoko, a practitioner of the art of Capoeira. And even though Momoko may just be twelve years old and have quite a childish attitude, she's still loved by many in Japan.
Currently, Momoko is doing a freestyle dance routine where she demonstrates extreme athleticism and agility. All the while, the crowd is clapping and cheering as the music goes on and Momoko continues to dance.
A crowd? Around someone? That is not himself?? Why that's just plain travesty. Mr. Jones would like to think himself a humble man despite his flights of fancy. But he hates to admit that, seeing all these people gathering here to clap and cheer for someone else, makes him a little bit jealous. Someone is stealing his spotlight at the Duck Pond, the spotlight that he worked so hard to get, HIS spotlight!
"Duck, tha' heck is going on mang?" Johnny Jones happens into the Breakdancer with the mohawk Duck King, who coincidentally is not at his usual DJ spot but right there in the thick of it clapping with the crowd.
"Oh hey Jones. Good fight versus Blanka last week." He tries to change topic quickly realizing that Jones is here and he likes to hog the stage. The funky dancer will have none of it though and almost glares, a strange sight from such an easy going man, which makes it that more terrifying.
Duck gives up and shrugs. "It's Momoko man. She's giving a tour outside Japan and is stopping here to put on a show."
Mister Jones' eyebrows wiggle. "Momoko who? Is that like some kind of whacked off Basketball mascot??"
Duck almost faints at this ignorance. "Don't you know about Momoko?? She's like a twelve year old girl Capoiera prodigy! Big timer in Japan and Brazil...probably. Anyway, she's kind of a big deal."
"Really? Capoiera?" This Jones has /got/ to see. He pushes through the crowd and there it is. A little girl doing acrobatic maneuvers easily winning the heart of the crowd. "Well I'll be..." He has to admit, those are some pretty good moves and for now Jones crosses his arms and watches the dancing girl carefully.
All the while, Momoko continues to dance, showing off various styles of acrobatics, and even doing a few aerial tricks as well, showing her agility can truly help her out at times. As the music gets faster in intensity, Momoko goes even faster with every movement, not showing signs of slowing down at all. And when the big finale comes within the music, Momoko pushes off of the ground with her bare feet, launches into a TRIPLE backwards somersault, and then lands in a full split position just as the final note hits. The crowd bursts into applause and Momoko jumps up and starts hopping up and down with a big grin on her face.
"Thank you! Thank you everyone! Momoko loves it when you cvome to watch her demonstrate Capoeira! It's so cool and so much fun!" Her voice is like that of a child's definitely, and her demeanor indicates that too. "Momoko will be doing open practice if anyone's interested on learning with Momoko!" She smiles widely and looks around.
YEAAAAH! Go Momoko!! Whistles and cheers and chanting are heard and Jones is...not having a wonderful time. Those acrobatic skills were really impressive, the girl definitely has talent and no doubt she will be a force to be reckoned with when she grows up. However, those cheers do not go unnoticed, it stirs something inside of Jonesy, something ugly, something he as a human being and martial artist is not proud of. It is envy. It stings even more that Momoko is such a cute little girl who just innocently happened to come by and dance for everyone, it's not like she means to steal the show, but still. Knowing that he had sweat and bled to become famous only to be out performed by a random pretty Capoerista--it's just---in the end, Jones is human like the rest of us.
He's scowling.
"Oh! Me me me me! Pick me!" Duck King jumps at the opportunity of dancing with Momoko, the break dancer pushes through the crowd and is almost running at the stage until he runs smack into the back of Jones' fist. *WHOCK* "Ow!! What's wrong with you man!?"
But Mr. Jones is back to his usual smiling self and grins to Duck King, they punch each other all the time and for them it's like tapping each other's shoulders. "Lemme go first brah." He says simply.
Duck King raises his shades and narrows his eyes. "No cutting, I was here first." Is his argument.
"Come on dude, don't be a lamer." Is Mr. Jones' rebuttal. "Tell you what. You don't owe me those five grand ya lost when you bet on Blanka last week."
This makes Duck reconsider, that was a lot of money he would have to fork over and thus concedes to the disco maniac's request. Mr. Jones is free to walk up to the stage now and fully face the little girl in question, no other person would try to cut infront tha' Johnny Jones Damon. The tall, afro wearing, yellow jump suit clad man tucks his hands on his pockets and beams down to Momoko, his smile coming off as very sincere.
"Hiya!" He greets her, noticing that she refers to herself in the 3rd person. "You're a pretty talented little girl aren't ya Momo? I've seen Capoeira before, but not anyone as good as you. Not even adults."
"Momoko is very talented in Capoeira!" Momoko exclaims as she sees Mr. Jones come towards her. "Momoko has done it all her life, and she's not stopping now!" She continues to move in the ginga while talking to Mr. Jones. "So what can Momoko do for you?"
Not exactly very humble isn't she? Mr. Jones' shades flash and he gives a wiry grin, even at such at young age it seems she is aware of her popularity. How intriguing, perhaps now he doesn't feel as bad for having such feelings as she is after all an entertainer like himself, perhaps he should look at this from another angle.
"I schee.." He rubs his chin watching Momoko dance still. "Name's Jones Johnny Damon. Mr. Jones for my friends, and it's been a while since I've danced with a pretty lady." Yeah, this totally doesn't look weird. "How about a dance?"
"You wanna dance with Momoko?" The girl asks with a grin. "You think you can keep up with Momoko? Because Momoko's fast and dances like Jones wouldn't believe!" She giggles at the last part. "But if you wanna dance with Momoko, then let's do this!"
The music starts up again, albeit at a slow steady pace for the purpose of warming up. "Momoko is ready when you are!"

"Now that's what I'm talking about!" If Momoko was older, Jones might have said something along the lines of 'A woman after my own heart!' or something along those lines. But as it stands, Jones is just glad to encounter such an energetic lil' lady, it really has a while since he has danced with someone as talented at Momoko. Eh, maybe because she is in fact a kid Jones can enjoy himself, no punching or kicking anybody's teeth tonight, just a regular ol' funky time.
"Well, I don't mean to brag but I am do tear up the dance floor." Mr. Jones begins to moonwalk away from Momoko, combing his hair in the process as he grins up to the little girl. Then he pauses, spins on his heel like a pinwheel and comes to a skidding stop, every moment he does so fast it sounds like a whip being cracked. "I'm ready to boogie!"
Incidentally, there's a bit of a disco beat to the Capoeira music this time. No doubt Duck King practicing his remixes.

"Momoko likes this music!" Momoko grins as she continues to move in the ginga, improvising a little as she does so. Apparently, unique music causes Momoko to be unique too. "This is going to be fun! If Jones can tear up the dance floor, Momoko's going to try to keep up with him!" She giggles a little while maintaining her ginga. "Come on, let's dance!"

Mr. Jones glances to the side hearing the Brazilian/Disco music mix, it's neutral ground for the dance fighters, neither of them can rely on basic tactics and will have to improvise. Leave it to Duck King to not even give him a home advantage, but ah well, he does love a challenge. "Lemme show you how we do it in Southtown baby!" Mr. Jones wiggles his shoulders as if a wave was passing through his arms to start up the dance before sliding towards Momoko as if he was skating through the floor. Suddenly, he explodes forward using his back leg to propel himself and leans his upper torso down, doing a one handed hand stand to continue on and make forward somersault.
Leave it to him to mix up Jeet Kune Do martial arts with disco dancing. The retro fighter spins in the air several times and lands with a leg split, hands up in the with his fingers pointed. Without using his hands he just slides back up into a standing position and spins on his axis again, stopping, and pointing an accusing finger at Momoko without looking at her as he strikes a pose.

Momoko finds that Mr. Jones has quite the skill with his dancing, and Momoko has to grin at what he does. "Jones is good, but Momoko is good too!" She steps back a little and regains her stance before showing off a move of her own. "My turn!"
Momoko spins around three times like a ballerina, then does a backflip and lands on her feet while raising her arms like a gymnast.

"Why do ya keep talking in the 3rd person?" Mr. Jones' cool demeanor cracks a little as he finds Momoko's personal quirks a little weird. But he is more focused on her dancing than her personality at this moment. He whistles. "Got some more moves besides Capoiera do ya? It's cool, cuz Jones can mix it up too!" He flinches "Great, now I'm doing it."
Shaking his head, the retro martial artist does some quick steps backwards to put distance between them and does a back flip. However rather than completing it he lands on his hands and starts doing scissor kicks with the rhythm of the music. "Woo!!" He hops up and down in unison with cheers of the crowd and finally flips back, snapping his fingers and pointing at Momoko with both index fingers. Shades flashing.
"Top that!"

Momoko watches as Jones tries to show off some more moves of his own. But Momoko giggles and shakes her head. "Momoko can do a lot more than that. Momoko thinks that Jones needs to practice more!" Momoko does a forwards handspring then a somersault, then a triple cartwheel to the side, and finally finishes off with a backflip into the air.

"Say what!!?" It's okay that Momoko is a kid and all but smack talk like that cannot be ignored! "Getting a little cocky aren't we, Momo!?" At the girl's trash talk, Jones doesn't let her finish her routine like he's been doing. Instead, he rushes at her when she's cartwheeling away from him and goes to follow right along with her but with front flips instead.
Then as Momoko does a back lip, he jumps right along with her and spins in mid air with a coin flip maneuver, looking like a human spinning drill. The two acrobats land on their feet at the same time, but it's Jones who keeps showing off by doing several more back flips to get away to get away from Momoko's position, effectively switching sides on the dance floor.
"Oh baby! You can't match this girl!!"
"Oooh, that was cool!" Momoko actualy says as she lands. "Momoko loves learning new techniques!" She moves back a little to watch Jones, wondering if he'll try any new tricks. For the moment, it looks like Momoko is backing off. But then she launches into a spinning combo while lying on the ground, then rolls back and attempts a flying arrow type of move, feet first.

Mr. Jones takes a bow when Momoko compliments him, he is after all having a good time with the little girl dance fighter. "If you promise not to trash talk so much, maybe I'll teach it to ya." He chuckles and does some quick dancing steps backwards to again give Momoko room to dance. He ducks low, checking her technique and hey..a flying arrow with feet leading. "Dude, that's one of Cammy's attacks." Could the two women be related? ....Nah, Cammy's a blonde and this girl is Japanese, maybe it's jut a really popular thing here.
The crowd goes wild when they see the flying arrow attack looking so similar to Cammy, they remember when Jones fought the Killer Bee here and to please the crowd; Jones does exactly the same thing he did when Cammy did that.
He runs at Momoko and slides right under her using his knees making it a big show, then comes to a stop and kicks with his leg to start spinning on his head, legs spread looking like a helicopter.
Alright, true, he didn't do a head spin right after dodging Cammy's attack but he did slide right past her and this earns him some points with the crowd.

"Oooh, you're doing great!" Momoko says as she watches Jones demonstrate his style. "Momoko thinks you have this made... But don't count Momoko out yet!" Momoko steps back but doesn't launch into any dancing just yet. Instead, she takes a few deep breaths to focus herself and keep herself going.

Mr. Jones comes up from his head spin and combs his afro a little having flattened it in the process. "Woo! Don't think I've had this much fun in a while!" He's laughing now, all previous bad feelings for the girl gone now when has proven herself such a good dancer. But alas, she is a little girl and Mr. Jones, being an adult has endurance over her. "It's cool baby, just do your thang!" Jonesy says sliding back with fingers snapping to the beat, letting the girl get a breather.

"Momoko's done her thing! Now Momoko is going to dance some more!" Momoko returns to the action, getting back into the ginga. "Jones, Capoeira was invented as a way of self-defense by Angolan slaves. But they had to disguise it as dancing to avoid being caught. It's a really fun art!" Momoko jumps back into a crouched position, then hops forward a few times, then springs up into the air, twirls and flips, then attempts to land carefully on the ground on one foot!

Mr. Jones keeps swaying back and forth with fingers snapping, the tempo of the music increasing with a few disc scratches here and there to confuse the dancers, DJ Duck King doing his best to keep them both on their toes. Looks like Momoko is ready to get funky again causing Jones to smirk broadly and starting dancing towards her catching her bit of history lesson. "Hey! I know all about Capoeira baby! Even if I don't practice it I still keep in touch with my roots you know?" Well he is black even if he is American. "I ain't got nothing to hide nowadays, if I feel like fighting the man I just use my Jeet Kune Do!" Mr. Jones adopts said fighting stance watching Momoko's next dancing combo, a lot of ballet steps mixed in with actual kicks it seems and thus Mr. Jones aims to mimic her.
He slides back to gain momentum and skips forward like Momoko just did, except that when he flies up in the air he does three consecutive tornado kicks and lands on a crane stance, standing in one leg with hands up and slightly bent. "Woooooo! Maybe you can learn some my art too Momo-san."

She watches Mr. Jones finish his routine, and then Momoko attempts to raise the ante by going into a routine that involves a backwards somersault, followed by stepping off of Jones's head (she's barefoot, she won't hurt him!) and then spinning around before landing.

No matter, even if Momoko is barefooted Mr. Jones has a big ol' afro to cushion his head. "Hey!" Jones squeaks a little when Momoko uses his head as a platform to do her routine and quite likely Momoko's feet are treated to a nice fluffy pillow where she catapults herself. Normally Jonesy doesn't like people touching his 'fro, but eh..what the hell..Momoko is too cute to get angry with!
He stands still fro Momoko to spin on him, but as she jumps away from him, he spins around and catches her hands to take her for an air plane ride! It takes two to boogie after all and Jones will use Momoko's cuteness to earn him points with the crowd by using her as a dance prompt. He spins around with the little girl and then throws her up to catch her, flipping her around to put her back on her feet again.

"Oooh, we're dancing together?" Momoko asks. "Momoko thinks this should be fun!" But just as Jones grabs her, Momoko leaps out of his arms and launches into an acrobatic show in the air, landing in a split, and then going into a flik-flak, before jumping up onto her feet again. "Ta-daaaaaaaaaaaah! Momoko's better with a partner!"
Phew! Well that didn't work as planned! Mr. Jones was thinking he could do a cool dancing routine with Momoko, but she ended up stealing the show with her impressive dancing counter. Jones half expected the girl to resist his move, but not use it to her advantage like that! "Dang girl!" Even Jones is clapping now as that move was rather dangerous, he half wanted to go run and catch her when she flipped away from him but Momoko ended up showing how truly skill full she is by landing on a graceful split.
"Guess it's time to really break it down!" After such a technique Jones has to pull out all stops and taps into the funky spirits of Disco! He starts spinning on his heel repeatedly, twirling and twirling as if he was a pinwheel to land on the stereotypical Disco Fever pose, hand on hip and one hand up pointing to the sky. For a moment it looks like that's it, but then..he's jumping up with his foot leading! All the way up the ceiling sailing right in front of the disco ball casting his shade all over the dance floor and land right behind Momoko where he spins again and tries to dip her like if they were dancing a Waltz. She did say she was better with a partner didn't she?

Momoko grins as she watches Jones come at her and try to grab her. But Momoko's not going for a dance partner right now. "Ooh, nice. But Momoko's about to bring it on big time!" She begins to glow and then launches into what could easily be the ultimate dance routine she could think of. Momoko launches into the air, performing several tricks, then lands on the ground smoothly going into a breakdance style, then does a backwards handspring, doing several more flips, then lands in a split!

Mr. Jones can almost be seen pouting when Momoko backs away from him mischievously "Aww come on baby! It was gonna be cool!" He says with a laugh, just as he imagined Momoko is a cheeky little rascal and plans to out dance him to the bitter end. That's just fine with him though, he loves to dance and will make good on his promise to tear up the dance floor. "Wooaa." Jones shades flash when Momoko begins to glow with strange energy, but rather than be intimidated by it he just uses her as a second disco ball!
"Groovy!!" Sliding right along with her when she comes back to the ground, Jones shows that he knows some break dancing movements himself by matching each and every move from Momoko. The funky dancer gets low spinning on his back stopping on a baby freeze by holding himself up with his hands while he is horizontal and spins backwards when Momoko does so! The crowd goes wild as they move in unison making several backflips as well as he lands in the exact same position Momoko does.
Looks like it's time to split!

Momoko tries to keep up but then she realizes that she's running out of steam and drops to one knee. But then she gives a thumbs up and a grin to Jones. "Momoko liked you," She says, clapping. "Momoko needs to work harder at her dancing. But Momoko liked this anyway!"

Honestly, Mr. Jones believes this is a victory for everyone. The crowd definitely liked the show, which is important for Duck King since it shows that the Duck Pond is still a dance club above all despite all the fights it hosts. Jones does the flik-flak thing Momoko did moments ago to slide himself up and notices how she has gone and tired herself out.
The funky dancer smirks, shades flash again and...he claps. "Give it up for Momo-san everyone! That's was hella tight!" The crowd cheers as Jones walks forward and offers to help her up from her kneeled position. "Thanks! You're a pretty funky gal! Sorry about intruding on your Capoeira show, but you know us dancers." He chuckles "Let's dance again sometime shall we?"
