Description: A strange message days after Chun-Li had a clue that there are shady dealings going on in China. A meeting out in the middle of nowhere leads to Chun-Li finding out Sagat has not truely died and he does his best to let her know what Vega is up to. The problem is have the plans already changed?
With the creatures threatening to destroy the world defeated the world is slowly returning to normal. On top of that the island collapsing in the ocean has allowed one man to disappear and be thought for dead. The might Sagat has vanished and not been heard from since the final battle of King of Fighters and the ensuing melee that occurred. And while he was badly injured it takes more than some metallic monster to kill a god. Instead it was the perfect chance to break free of Shadaloo once again.
Sadly he knows too much that with that threat eliminated Vega will be more than ready to put his own plans into motion right now. Giving away his location and the fact he is alive right now would not be a good move. It might just lead to him getting yanked back in right away. He needs more time to properly ready himself to deal with the likes Bison, Balrog and Juri instead of blindly jumping into the fray. Instead he should play it smart which means trying to contact someone that has been a thorn in Vega's side for quite some time and also someone in China that might be able to help with what is about to go down.
That is why one day when she was out and about Chun-Li had a run in with a teen that had been looking for her. A wide eyed kid that doesn't look too used to being in a bustling city that handed her a letter and a plane ticket to the nation of Sri Lanka followed by an older man meeting her with a small cart pulled by a bike that will take her to a small fishing village. It is a peaceful place. A place Sagat can live without being bothered for now at least. Of course he made no mention of who wishes to see her, but hints in the letter were probably enough to let Chun-Li know this is about Shadaloo.
The woman in the blue and gold Qipao and fluttering white ribbons steps down form the little card and offers the driver a respectful bow. The usually cheery Chun-li has ridden the entire way in silence appearing quite tense and distracted she doesn't even take in the view or really where she is. She has no luggage with her, no bags or even a copy of the letter as given the events of the week it was entirely possible that this was a trap meant for her.
Chun-Li surveys the surroundings and moments later descends down into the village, head swivelling as she very slowly walks the centre sprawl of the village, tasking in the sights of a peaceful rural fishing village but looking for something.. or someone who did not fit. The clock was running and even should this be but a distraction she had little enough time left to stop the bombing. Let alone knowing how and exactly when it would be delivered or go off.
It probably doesn't help that when she see who invited out here has been known to work for Vega. Things might go messy. Even so there doesn't seem to be a confirmation this is a trap. The people in the village are active and a few do stop to look at Chun-Li, but more probably because she does stick out quite a bit among this sort of crowd. There are children around too so if this is a trap it could be quite a bad one given that the people in the village would be victims too and are not part of the planned ambush.
In this case it is not a ambush and the driver goes into a house after dropping off Chun-Li and before too long the large cyclops ducks through the entryway and stands up straight. He Seems to have a few bandages in places on his body and he seems not ready to attack, but instead is just walking calmly towards the much smaller woman. "We need to have a talk." he comments as he motions with a large hand for her to follow him as as he turns and starts to walk. He seems to be leading her out of the village which might throw up some alarms as well.
"I am done with Shadaloo, but that is not why I wanted talk to you." he finally says after a few moments of silence. "I also would like it if you do not mention my presence here." He hopes he can trust her. Then again technically he is still a wanted man by all means. "Your country is in alot of danger. Vega has his sights set on it and I have a feeling things are going to get bad soon."
The appearance of a man so tall he has to stoop to pass through a doorway qualifies as unusual enough to get her attention, who it was however causes her breath to catch in her throat. Her Brain screams for her to fight or flee in the face of such a mountain of muscle but the worlds strongest woman folds her arms beneath her breasts awaiting a sign of this truly being a trap. Her eyebrows do raise slightly as the giant utters 'we need to have a talk.' this is a first. One of Shadowloo's Lieutenants, or was it an ex-lieutenant... wanting to have a chat with Interpol. Feet firmly planted where she sttood as he emerged she begins to follow him only after he has lead off a few paces, keeping a 'healthy' distance with respect for the speed and reach of fighter of Sagats calibre and size.. of which there was pretty much just Sagat she had to admit.
CHun0li follows along listening to the man and her mood darkens considerably, That 'being done with Shadowloo' did not excuse the crimes in his past nor the blood on his hands and she was definitely not into becoming a con-conspirator by keeping his secrets and protecting him.. But-”You have to be kidding? The entire country? Not even Shadowloo has the resources to-” words fail her as she casts her mind back to very little evidence of Shadowloo activity and the long running focus on other events. Shadowloo could have amassed a sizeable amount of force and resources, but the whole of China?
Once the pair a fair distance away Sagat stops and he moves to lean back against a tree. That single eye of his focused on the young woman as he took note of the reaction given. "You would be amazed at what he can do. He has been very busy while letting people think he was so greatly weakened." he comments and he lets out a bit of a dark chuckle as he shakes his head. "Even losing me he is not too weakened. He has far worse monsters under his command now." He wonders how long it will be until Chun-Li will be left to deal with someone like Juri. He has to wonder if even a woman as experienced as her can survive the sick, twisted Korean.
Of course does he truely know Vega's current plans? They are ever changing, but at least for now he can give what is needed. A warning to someone that might be able to stop the bleeding or at least slow it until some form of help can arrive. "He is right now working at getting politicians under his thumb and those that don't seem interested are being removed in other ways." he comments and folds his arms over his massive chest. Of course would she believe him? Is it maybe him trying to distract her while Shadaloo carries out other plans?
He tilts his head and lets her take a moment to think things over and let it all sink in. "Your allies may start to grow thing rather quickly. You may want to act in haste just to make sure you don't end up being targeted yourself." Of course she is probably high on the list of people that Vega wants to have occupied to where she won't cause trouble.
The implications here are dire, perhaps even focusing her efforts on stopping the bombing could be the plan meant to distract her from interfering, the likelihood of it was quite high but the price of people being caught in an explosion was far too high for her to fight a war on many fronts. Her eyes are troubled, she can see how such a grandiose scheme could possibly work. "And you can give me nothing? No dates or locations?" she presses home with "Nothing about an upcoming bombing?" her appreciation for a warning tempered by the usefulness she was able to extract from it. "There has to be more to your warning or you could have sent me an anonymous letter and not had to ask me to co-conspire to keep your location a secret."
Chun-li has to work hard to keep the frustration out of her voice as unless there is something solid for her to work from than the Champion may have been wasting her time inadvertently or deliberately, there were just a few days and very little to go on.
He considers the fact he could have just sent the letter, but at least with the young man he sent he knew it would arrive where it need be. He frowns a bit when pressed for dates. Then there is the mention of a bombing which does not sound familiar to him at all. "A bombing? There were no plans for one that I was aware of. Near the end Vega didn't fully trust me so he may have made sure I didn't know." A smart move it would seem given that this meeting his happening now. "As for dates? Try daily. There is a man you should know. He is aware of what is going on. Perhaps Gen can help you." he says knowing that the old man is not keen at all in having Vega or Shadaloo around in his country. The problem is would he be willing to work with Chun-Li and vice versa.
He then grins some when thinking about why he bothered to drag her out here. "I am not so good with letters. And I was curious as to what you might do if you saw me." Was he hoping she would attack him? Maybe that is why he brought her away from the village. "Now the question is can you believe me or will you just go on and pretend nothing is happening."
Suppressing a sigh Chun-li instead nods, perhaps she was hoping for too much but there had been a price paid in taking this much time away form something in hopes of a miracle lead. It had been a gamble and the result not entirely in her favour. She does blink comically when Sagat mentions Gen she hadn't even thought to contact the that 'old man' and recalls just how much of a dislike he had for Shadowloo, Sagat may very well have pointed her towards an ally who would be invaluable if she could actually convince him to work with her. She laughs awkwardly and aloud as memories of past relationships with Gen float through her mind, that old Master was something else entirely.
Chun-li clears her throat and grimaces at Sagat "What I might say?" she picks her next few words carefully "Crimes and the bloodshed in your past wont ever go away, and you cannot pay back the debt with your fists." lecturing, fists on hips "Or by letting giving them up." but she seems to be talking to the air rather than the mountainous man. Chun-li is not the person to forgive or offer a reprieve to anyone from Shadowloo, the blood of her father and her childhood turned into a life of forging her into the fighter she has become. Wind shifts loose stands of her fringe and flutters the white ibbons bringign a faint smile to her lips. "It is a beautiful place, quiet." She warns the air and nobody around her "But they will come eventually and I do not care for anyones secrets, I just have more important things to deal with." the very last words out of her mouth on the subject "Do not linger here, for their sake." and there is some compassion in that statement something shared between people and seemingly addressed to the Muay Thai Champion as another who live their lives as a target.
She lectures him on things he knows. Even so he is old and set in his ways. The bloodshed there is no real way to repent. He can try to do what is right now and sadly the only way he knows how is to use his fists. "I bide my time for now. The God of Muay Thai will appear when I decide I am ready." he comments and he straightens back up. "Do not think I am slowing down because I have taken a few weeks to rest in this small village." There is a faint smile. A bit disturbing to see coming from a man such as the cyclops. "You can always ask for a demonstration."
He then turns to look back towards the small village and he lets out a slight grunt. "I don't suppose you have seen Ryu?" he asks while that smile fades. That is the other piece of unfinished business he needs to take care of one day. "If you see him let him know I still am coming for him." It seems some things will never change no matter how much the person tries to change themself. "Good luck in the fight. It will be a long and tough one." he tells her as he starts to lumber for the town once again. He has some tasks to perform to help the fishermen with. Then there is training. Always more training. He can't let himself get soft. He just leaves the young woman to ponder what to do and when she returns to town there is a ticket back to China as well as the old man willing to cart her back to the small airport.
Chun-Li raises her hands in a warding gesture "I'm quite happy to pass on that demonstration." her mood becomes a lot more sombre "I have a lot to do and no time to do it in. Or to nurse injuries." Mention of Ryu absently makes the Chinese woman wish that she did in fact know where he was, that would be someone else she could count on. The message would be unlikely to ever be passed on to Ryu as quite frankly the rivalry between the pair was something of legend by now and reminding either of it would be like reminding them the direction of the rising sun. Chun-li watches Sagat walk off, without saying anything or calling after him. The God of Muay Thai never failed to make an impression with his presence but his 'retirement to the country' for now was such a small fact that she had little care for it. It was fortunately however.. one less fighter in Shadowloo's aresenal and perhaps one fo the reason for this shift in tactics inferred by Sagat. Either way she would have to look into some way to find out whether the leadership was being manipulated by Shadowloo and if so how to counter it. With innocent lives on the line however she had many more battles to fight than simply attempting to end this war before it begins. The ring of a bicycle bell bring her to with a start and she hurris back to the roadside, Don't want to miss her ride!
