Description: Interpol agent Chun-Li and Zach Glen mix it up in, perhaps predictably, China. (Winner: Chun-Li)
An ancient nation of great beauty and history China has unique flavour replicated in cities all over the world yet even the dreary overcast sky does it compare to the hustle and bustle of the marketplace and streets of a Chinese city like Yìyáng. Hawkers and Vendors kept up their energy as always, yelling nearly at the top of their lungs at potential shoppers. One had to be careful as they stepped through the Emit crowded streets, you could easily be swept away by the pressing throng of bodies and traffic alike.
Waiting patiently on the spot, a rock enduring the river of people moving against it, Chun li awaits the arrival of her opponent a Neo League match is about to take place, only perhaps one of the participating fighters is aware of this. Interpol's own resources unable to tack the man consenting to the match had been the only legal way to track him down.
Chinese Police in reflective jackets talk amongst themselves, endlessly smoking cigarettes as they wait beside the stack of traffic barriers and signs ready to close down the entire street at a moments notice.
Squawking radios spur the officers into action and they begin to erect the orange traffic barriers as traffic on the road is slowed and stopped, an impromptu arena for a street fight but it means her opponent Zach Glen must be close by if the signal has gone out.
Zach Glen is totally unaware that he had been... enlisted for any such match. He hadn't checked in with the League since he left Africa the first time, really. He is about to be blind-sided by that. Getting out of Japan while the police were still looking for him was tricky, but managed it by use of a small boat at night. Once he had made landfall, however, it became considerably less easy...
It became a constant series of battles in the wake of the planet's descent into Rage. Ragers and cultists are becoming more overt in their desire to hasten the return of their lord, and plunge the planet into a proverbial ocean of blood to save the planet from the people that walk on its surface. Zach Glen has attempted to prevent some of it wherever he found himself, mostly because it was the right thing to do but partly because the Cult of Gaia seemed to have a bone to pick with the psion.
Zach tugs the black and gold ballcap he had picked up to cover his eyes a bit as he notes the seemingly increased police presence as he walks down the street. He was hoping for a break, and so he does not seek to confront the officers. That would be bad, not to mention counter-productive. He realizes that he is, in a way, being corralled by the traffic barriers.
He is made curious that they are clearly directing him somewhere without actually getting in his way. Zach gets an interested expression on his face as he tries to see where it leads...
The woman now standing in the centre of the road has the attention of the public in general. What could have easily turned into a riot now has people standing on the hoods of cars alongside the owners and crowding the barriers as close as the impassively faces police will allow.
Dressed in blue and gold qipao with white ribbons and the large spiked bracelets she is instantly recognizable even without the people of her home nation calling out her name.
Chun-li walks a small circuit in centre of the area waving to the gathered spectators with a full armed and overhead enthusiastic wave, smiling pleasantly and generally acknowledging the people taking time to watch. The least she can do after the match has caused such a disruption to peoples schedule and lives.
The unseen announcers begin to begin to announce the legalities of a Neo League match, time limit of the names of the participating fighters. Chun-li folds her arms together and bows traditionally as her name and country of origin peals out over the loudspeakers and while people await to hear the name of her opponent she herself is already trying to pick him out of the throng, looking for him amongst the sea of excited faces.
Zach's curious expression turns to a deep frown as he realizes what he just got roped into. He considers for a long moment before pulling his cap from his head and allowing his violet hair to fall free. Zach shakes his head once or twice before stepping through one of the barricades. He sets his travelling pack down before adjusting an unsual looking wakazashi at his hip. He sighs as he looks at the taller woman.
He looks around, concern clear on his face before looking back to Chun-Li. He recognizes the name, and under many other circumstances, he would have been eager to have this fight. The test of skill, the clash of wills, these things have an irresistable pull to him even if professional fighting was not his first choice of vocation.
However, this is not one of those circumstances. He walks up to Chun-Li, getting very close but somehow managing to stop just outside the Agent's personal space. "You want a fight," Zach asks uncertainly, quietly. "Are you... certain you want to do this here?" Glen tilts his head to one side to indicate the crowd. "I'd..." He stops for a moment. "I don't think either of us want these people to be put in danger for this."
Chun-li inclines her head in a bow to Zach though listens carefully to his words, "This match was not my idea, But the Neo League keeps a better watch on their fighters than Interpol does." hands firmly braced on her hips she keeps her voice low and the conversation private "In this ring I'm a fighter, outside of it I have a duty to perform as an ICPO agent." the concerned frown she was developing lightens as she adds "Though.. I have no desire to place anyone in danger either." the angle of her head changes as she pointedly glances up at the at one of the particular rooftops. "Are you okay with heights?" her smile cheery and mischievous.
Zach nods in understanding as Chun-Li explains herself. "'Spose I could explain some things afterward," he says amicably. "Assuming you win, of course," he follows up with an equal amount of cheek. His gaze follows Chun-Li's, emerald eyes tracking her idea. He thinks for a bit.
"Surprisingly," Zach replies, "I don't have a problem with heights. Rooftops occassionally have an issue with me, though." Zach considers. "Then again, that's why I pay a ton on fight insurance. Worth every penny of it, too."
Smiling along back at Zach, Chun-li is secretly relieved for an amicable if not friendly fight. Her eyes twinkle merrily at the light hearted challenge yet she turns her attention openly to the building, eleven stories tall it is of a level with most other buildings nearby, good enough.
"We had best do this before there is a riot."
A wink of her eye and the Chinese woman starts running for the corner of the building, leaping onto the top of one of the roadside traffic barriers, vaulting across onto a sun faded awning and then hopping across onto the ancient looking fire escape. The crowd quickly becomes silent, unsure of what is going on though the metal squeal of the rusted fire escape ladder coming down does cue some confused chatter. Chun-li from the fire escape bows her head in apology looking just faintly embarrassed and waves to Zach "Come on!" before quickly rushing up the stairs towards the rooftop.
Zach watches Chun-Li trace her way up to the roof. He stares up, spotting a balcony a couple of stories up. He cranes his neck back and flicks his gaze across a few other such outcroppings. He rubs his chin, considering carefully as his left hand drifts down to the hilt of his sword as if to reassure himself of its presence.
Another second is taken to send soul power coursing through his lower body before leaping towards the balcony he was staring at a moment ago. He lands lightly, twisting even as he touches down. He forces a short burst of energy through his legs again, launching himself across the narrow street to another balcony. He lands heavily on the pad, pulling himself to his feet before jumping back to the first building, staying at the same level before stepping onto the railing. After sprinting up the wall he reaches out with both hands to grip the edge of the roof. A moment later, Zach is pulling himself onto the roof and knocking the grit off of his palms.
"An excellent idea," Zach says agreeably. He leans forward, his body preparing to coil as he slides his right foot forward. His right hand hovers over the hilt of his weapon, his eyes locked on the ICPO Agent as he awaits the start of the match. A faint aura of violet energy envelopes the psion.
Chagrined Chun-li covers her mouth, hiding the amused smile rather than condoning the human fly act. Starting to get fired up at the pospect of the match, Chun-li no longer concerns herself with the disappointment of the fans below. Chun-li already feeling warmed up just takes just a moment to perform a brief side to side stretch and then also raises her arms into an en garde position, one held forward and the other behind almost looking like she may dance rather than fight.
The aura appearing around Zach's body concerns her more than she lets on as does the weapon but a street fight is a street fight and Chun-li aims to win, despite how friendly the atmosphere is between the two fighters she suspects neither will back down from giving their all.
"Any time you are ready Mr Glen."
COMBATSYS: Chun-Li has started a fight here on the right meter side.

Zach grins faintly as he springs off of his back leg, launching himself at Chun-Li with surprising speed. The logical, the /expected/ move might be for Zach to draw the steel at his hip. The blade may be an expression of his self, but there are other means of doing that in this situation.
Zach lunges in the air as he closes, driving his elbow hard towards the Chinese woman's midsection while putting what weight he has behind it. The strike is a bit reckless, but in a way, Zach can't help himself. There is no sign of that violet aura interacting with the strike, strangely, the elbow strike being delivered without the energies that are Zach's birthright.
Perhaps he is holding back or perhaps, like the blade, he is unready to bring the power of his soul to bear just yet.
COMBATSYS: Zach has joined the fight here.

Chun-li brings both arms around and together to press touch and slow the incoming elbow before it crashes against her braced forearm, the brown eyes tucked in behind the block twinkle though the force of the impact is enough to shift and flutter those long white ribbons. Chun-li remains calm and smiling throughout but vanishes straight up when the force of the incoming blow is disappointed with a “Hup” and while overhead turns a somersault and stomps down at the top of Zachs head attempting to hop off and over him.
COMBATSYS: Chun-Li successfully hits Zach with Change-Up Kick.

Zach crumples as Chun-Li drops on the back of his head, dropping to one knee with a grunt of pain. He turns to watch Chun-Li fly away through bleary eyes, stars taking up a good chunk of his field of vision. The psion tries to focus on the Chinese woman for a moment.
Perhaps he should not worry terribly much about hurting the Supercop unduly. He raises his right hand, purple energy swirling around it in a chaotic manner. Zach grits his teeth and brings his mental focus to bear for a brief moment as he launches a bolt of purple soul power at Chun-Li's back. The headache is already starting to come on, and he failed to get some asprin in him before the fight started.
COMBATSYS: Zach still bears the choker, which shimmers an odd color.

Turning a second graceful somersault Chun-li sails through the air about to land with her back towards her Zach. Becomes aware of the brightening purples light and half turns back to glance behind her. Eyes widening in surprise she hurls herself sideways in an attempt to escape the attack the moment her feet touch the concrete of the rooftop and rolls away into a three pointed crouch.
A close call and narrow dodge yet Chun-li is having fun. She rises back into a standing position and winks at Zach "You almost caught me with one" her hands gently floating up in front of her she suddenly lunges her body forward and amidst the flare of blue light she reciprocates with her own chi attack "Kikouken!"
COMBATSYS: Chun-Li successfully hits Zach with Kikouken.

The blue bolt of chi slams into Zach's chest cleanly, exploding in motes of blue-white light while knocking Zach completely off of his feet. He lands on the roof with a heavy impact. He lays still for a moment, trying to catch his breath as he does so. Zach rubs his hand on his chest, wincing with the pain as he does so. He tugs at the neck of his hooded sweater, peering down his shirt as if to check something that may or may not be there, based on the frown.
The wandering psion pulls himself to his feet, wobbling as he takes the stance that he had assumed at the start of the match. It resembles a classic batou-jutsu. Just because he was not able to try to avoid the technique Hyo used in their meeting did not mean Zach did not see it. Seeing it allowed Zach to try it on his own, and he incorporated it into his daily training routine. Zach blasts forward, energy pouring off him like steam off of dried ice as he blazes towards Chun-Li's landing point.
As he closes, Zach is drawing the Miraitou free of the sheath, striking at Chun-Li with the blade. Perhaps surprisingly the sword blade is still sheathed in a whirling, blazing violet light. He is not really enjoying the fight quite yet. The trickle of blood coming from his nose in the wake of the strike might explain some of that...
COMBATSYS: Chun-Li blocks Zach's Burst Strike.

Appearing to impassively wait Chun-li inwardly is glad Zach is putting up such a show of spirit now, the more spirit and resilience he shows the more pleased she is to be fighting someone of his calibre.
As his power busts forth and he strikes out with the blade, finally drawn Chun-li refuses to back down instead stepping into the attack at the last moment, crossed forearms and two spiked bracelets meeting the bared blade and the two fighters squaring off for just the barest of seconds before Chun-li is pressed backwards by the force of the attack and slides away, the soles of her boots rasping on the concrete roof and her stance unchanged.
Chun-li smiles to herself and then comes rushing back into the fray, pivoting her entire body at the last moment to lash out with a a mule kick that could possibly upturn a car.
COMBATSYS: Zach knocks away Zach with Burst Strike.

Zach's technique shows the signs of practice. However, it is not perfect. He is left off-balance after stopping, which allows Chun-Li to bury her foot in his midsection. He louds out a loud grunt of pain from the strike, doubling over from the pain.
Zach, however, somehow manages to keep his feet. He straightens up slightly, wobbling dangerously as he takes a firm step towards Chun-Li. His eyes are determined, if out of focus as Zach takes another step forward. The psion brings the sword up to strike, the weapon poised directly over his head when he stop.
His eyes completely lose what little focus they had moments before. He stays standing but does not move at all, quite literally out on his feet.
COMBATSYS: Zach takes no action.

Withdrawing and lowering her foot to the ground Chun-li still appears to be ready to continue the fight. Arms spread and gently moving through their swaying pattern she slows and then stops after something in the nature of the fight changes with him raising the sword overhead.
Standing unguarded in front of him she offers him an apologetically “I didn't hold back anything. And you are still standing.” she reaches up for the tense forearm and gently tugs on it trying to lower the blade and steps in to stand shoulder to shoulder with him. She considers many supportive things she could say, words that don't mean much to a fighter or might seem condescending but instead she sighs and smiles. "Someday I'd like to fight you again Mister Zach Glen." and after a moment she adds in cheekily "That and we had a deal." The clamour of footsteps on the fire escape and tired looking Neo League personnel weighed down with camera and medical equipment make their way up onto the rooftop.
Chun-li waves the staffers towards her with her free hand and though she still seems her most serious self "Maybe we should have waited for the them, I get the feeling there may be a riot if one of us doesn't sign a few autographs." Chun-li can't help the feeling however that somehow Zach is getting off easy and wins in this situation.
