Momoko - A Dance With A Stranger

Description: While doing what she does best, which is dancing in her Capoeira style, Momoko meets a stranger...

It's a beautiful day out in Japan, especially due to the fact that there's an exhibition in the heart of Hokkaido. Specifically, it's a dance exhibition, which is being hosted by their own star Capoeira practitioner, Momoko. The girl is childish and cheerful, and that's what makes her Momoko. Right now she's in the middle of a solo dance routine with others standing around her clapping along to the music.

Hokkaido, this is probably about as remote a place as Cammy has ever gone to, until she ends up in Ulan Bator or some such. (You never know). But even Hokkaido is worthy of Shadaloo investigation, especially where fighters are concerned...
...and a capoeira demonstration is just the sort of thing to draw the Killer Bee, so she's in the crowd, watching, and thinking... isn't capoeira Brazilian? How come Blanka doesn't do capoeria? How come there are capoeristas in Hokkaido? Questions, questions.

Meanwhile, Momoko continues her exhibition, dancing faster and faster and getting more acrobatic, all while grinning widely. As she finishes her routine, she lands in a split, resulting in a resounding standing ovation from everyone. Momoko jumps up cheerfully and says, "Thank you everybody! I'm Momoko, and this is the Hokkaido Dance Exhibition! I'm hoping everyone has a great time!" She doesn't notice Cammy just yet...

Dance? Cammy isn't all that familiar with the traditions around capoeira, she does have a (very passing) familiarity with the actual style though, just in case she tangles with a capoerista one day. And the Doll is not shy, so she speaks out over the crowd. "Is that just dancing?" she asks Momoko from the crowd. "That seemed to be like capoeira. A strange sight to see here in rural Japan." she notes.

As soon as Momoko hears Cammy's voice, she turns to face Cammy and says with a big smile, "It's more than just dancing! It originated in Brazil, where slaves used it as a way of protection. But to hide it, they disguised it as a style of dance. So it's a martial art and it's a style of dance!" She grins and holds her hands in front of her. "It's so much fun to do!" She then jumps off the stage and looks to Cammy, "My name's Momoko, who are you?"

"I heard they can fight with their hands together, because the slaves were chained." Cammy replies. "It seems... flamboyant.". Her own style is pretty much the opposite of flamboyant, with it's militaristic background. The dolls blue eyes look down to Momoko's hands for a moment, before going back up to her face again when satisfied it's not a danger. "I am Cammy White.". She half turns her head then, giving Momoko the eye a bit. Is her name that recognisable? Ryo knew who she was...

"Ooh, Miss White! Nice to meet you!" Momoko says cheerfully. "Yeah, a lot of them learned to fight using just their feet. In fact, my style emphasises kicking techniques, so you might say I'm kinda like that!" She twirls around briefly, then adds, "Why do you think it's so flamboyant?"

Cammy hmmms. "It looks like a dance. Indeed, you can dance with it. I do not think it is necessarily... optimally efficient.". She shrugs. "But I suppose it depends on how good you are, the strangest of styles can be deadly if someone is very talented in that style. Have you ever heard of Blanka?". The monster is on her mind at the moment as she met him only the other day. "I wonder if he knows capoeira.".

"Blanka? What's that?" Momoko thinks to herself. "Is that something that blanks something out?" Momoko asks, still smiling. "It sounds like something great. And Capoeira isn't for being deadly. It's for self defense, and for entertainment!" Momoko now frowns. "Don't make it look bad!!"

"Look bad? I am not intent on being insulting." the doll replies, raising red gloved hands defensively. "It just seems odd to me is all. And Blanka, he is a fighter, one of the better ones, he's probably on television some times. From Brazil. You will know him if you met him... he is green.".

"He's green? Does that mean he's sick? Or is he just made to look green?" Momoko asks. "And you think Capoeira's odd? Come on, it's not odd, it's fun!" Momoko steps back a little, but she smiles again. "I love it, it's so much fun!"

"I don't know, he is actually green, he has green skin. Bright green. I do not know why. Maybe I should find out, but I doubt he would actually know himself, somehow...". Cammy shrugs. "And yes, I think it is odd. It is quite unlike any other styles I am aware of." she maintains, stubborn. "Not odd to you perhaps but that is subjective. Hmm. Actually I have met one other capoerista before. Aranha.".

"Aranha? What's he like?" Momoko answers. "I've never heard of him, but I'd sure like to meet him! I love meeting people who do Capoeira!" Momoko says while jumping up and down excitedly. "Is Mr. Aranha nice? Does he do Capoeira well?"

Cammy uhs, and the hands go up again, to ward off the enthusiasm! "I do not know him very well, I have never met him... socially. He is ... alright, I suppose.". Helpful once, unhelpful once - could be worse, from Cammy's point of view. "He has a King of Fighters team, I think he is even the leader. If you keep up to date with the fighting news, you will hear of him, I am sure.".

"You don't know him? Oh well, I'll be sure to look out for Mr. Aranha, I bet he'd be a great opponent to test out my Capoeira skills on!" Momoko replies, still very cheerful. "And he's in the King of Fighters tournament? That is SO awesome!" She adds, giggling.

Cammy smiles a thin sort of smile. "Yes, I suppose it is." she replies, with a small shrug. "Maybe you wouldn't like him, he seemed very serious on the occasions I met him... though perhaps that is just because he is serious when /I/ am around.". She was, after all, threatening him in Lord Vega's name the first time!

"Well, I won't know untill I meet Mr. Aranha!" Then someone on stage signals to Momoko. "Oh oh, time for me to get back on stage! Bye bye, Miss White!" She backflips back onto the stage and claps her hands to get the attention of the others.
