Cammy - It's Not Easy, Being Shadaloo

Description: Quon is intercepted by Cammy on the way home from community service. Conversation ensues, mostly about how unfair it is that nobody seems to trust assassins in the employ of The Most Evil Organisation In The World.

Quon had finally completed his community service for the day. However, he was not exactly in a rush to go back to his dorm room where he's pretty much living out of his suitcase because he's pretty much waiting for the day he receives the call saying that he can't go to Southtown University any more.

The whole situation with Shadaloo thing has been nagging him. He's forced to hang out with Cammy, which wouldn't be so bad if not for the fact that her affiliations always coming up and the fact that he's pretty certain that Vega's going to come after him for getting arrested.

Things have been quiet for the aspiring actor. It was nice to not have to deal with things not related to Shadaloo.

Cammy is worried about poor Quon in truth, having finally kinda worked out that Bad Things are happening to him, and it might even be due to her - even though it's not strictly speaking her fault, which makes it even worse. Nobody in Shadaloo has told her anything, which is a little discomfiting. Lord Vega is acting like nothing has ever happened, it's all business as usual, which means she's being kept in the dark, and for an ultra loyal zealot, that is quite a shock. And never mind her shock - to think Quon used to be so happy...

Having had a stressful scene with Rust the other day she's been meaning to talk to Quon for some time, but work got in the way for a bit. But now she's back! braving the NESTS to find Quon before Rust does. She is lingering outside his dorm, disguised again, and her disguises are getting a bit better, with jeans and a big blue coat, which on the one hand doesn't look as odd as a giant red cloak, but on the other hand does nothing to cover up the braids.

When he sees Cammy, there's a mixture of emotions. On one hand he's somewhat glad to see her. On the other hand, he's not quite enthused because no matter what they do, Cammy's work tends to follow her around which in turn causes either chaos or emotional downturns in his life.

He takes a breath, and prepares for for things to go to hell in a hand basket. "Hey, Cammy. Wasup?" He doesn't attempt to hide his emotions in a facade of happiness. But because of the mixture of emotions working inside of him, his appearance is more of a neutral expression.

"Hi Quon. I brought you a gift." Cammy replies, intent on getting things off to a good start. She digs into one pocket, to draw out a small metal keyring, with a plastic sphinx attached to it. The sort of thing that you find in crappy souvenir stores. "I had a Neoleague match in Egypt yesterday." she explains, holding it out for him to take. She had a few other things to do in Egypt as well, but Quon doesn't need to worry about that.

"And I need to talk to you, though it will not take long, I am sure, about Rust. But that is the only thing you might not want to talk about that I have to talk about." the doll says. See, not so bad. "Then I will buy you a soda.". She has not forgotten the soda that Fio ruined.

He holds the key ring in his palm clutching it as he thinks about the news of violence breaking out there. He doesn't know whether or not Cammy is connected to that but seeing as that wasn't mentioned he's going to hope she wasn't involved in that.

Having already taken his preparatory breath, he doesn't bother taking it now. "About Rust?" He doesn't know exactly why she wants to talk to him about Rust but he's pretty sure he knows what it'll relate to. Shadaloo. That's been pretty much an ongoing theme with them.

Cammy did think the Neoleague match was a really good cover story, it is true. And it's not a lie, by any means. "You will see me on TV soon." she tells him, bigging up her alibi. "Against Naerose. I am not sure if you know her or not.". A pause. "You really aren't missing out on much if you don't." she admits.

"Rust, yes. Rust. He has always been disapproving of me, though sometimes he hides it well. I have tried to be nice to him, and he does at least tolerate me normally, but a couple of days he ago he really was mad at me. I thought there was going to be a fight, even. He was livid. Someone stole something from his home, and he thinks I had something to do with it.". She puts on her best innocent look, made a bit more believable by the fact she's actually not lying, but, well, she is a doll still. "I didn't! But he didn't believe me. He even said I didn't really like you and all this is a lie. I am sure when next you meet him he will be telling you lots of rubbish and lies about me, but it is all false. You believe me?".

Quon is quiet while Cammy talks, but he doesn't bother hiding his emotions with his facial features. With someone like Cammy hiding his emotion like that is not possible. Not without training and more knowledge of psionics.

When Cammy is done, he finds himself being the voice of reason. He doesn't give off a sense of whether or not he believe her. That's mainly because he's not even sure. "Regardless, of whether not you did it. You make a convienient scapegoat. You've displayed an ability to break into /both/ our places pretty much at will. Plus your associations isn't exactly the most trustworthy..." He pauses to consider his audience. "... to those outside of your affiliations. If you truly didn't do it you should probably clear your name and find out the person really responsible."

"I didn't do it!" Cammy maintains, a little agitated now as that is not the response she wanted - she really wanted 'Of course you didn't', not voices of reason. "I really didn't. And I have no idea who did it. It's not like I was there. I don't even know what was stolen, beyond it being an address book. How am I supposed to find out who did it when I barely even know what was missing?". She wrinkles her nose, thinking this is all most unfair, like just about everything that seems to happen to her lately.

"Okay, I can understand Rust suspecting me." Cammy admits. "That is logical. But I did not do it. If I really did do it I probably would not bother to lie about it to him. I did offer to help him find out who did it actually, but he is not interested in my help. Like I said, he was very angry. I have never seen him that angry before. He was not interested in reason at all, he had already made up his mind.". She sniffs. "He could at least accuse me of something I really have done." she mutters, sullen. "You don't believe me?".

While he knows that Cammy is a horrible actress, and because of that she's not lying. He knows that there's the possibility that her involvement in both Rust and his lives might've indirectly attacted attention to Rust and as a result getting whatever stolen. Because of this he's very careful to avoid answering the do you believe me question.

"To be honest, I don't think all that anger is just because of the stolen object. He's angry about how much of an interest Shadaloo has taken in my life. He's probably angry about the fact that I was willing to ruin my life to keep from doing what your Lord Vega wanted me to do. I'm probably forfeiting my life by telling you this if this goes back to him. But getting myself arrested was the only way I could think of to get out of making some type of delivery for him. I was willing to put my education in jeopardy to not follow his will. When Rust found out about that, he went /nuts./"

How on earth does this keep happening. Cammy thought this would be simple enough - do you believe me, yes, ok, soda time. Instead she somehow seems locked into a conversation that she really doesn't want to be having. Vega and life ruining is put to one side for a moment. "But wait, Quon. What about me?" she asks, simply enough. "Is this my fault?".
She shakes her head, more than sad. "So you are happy to blame me as well?" she asks, suddenly numb, a sensation of falling being an unusual and unexpected sensation as her stomach lurches and she suddenly looks quite nauseous.

"No." He pauses as he considers his words carefully. "All you've wanted from me is just to hang out with me. It's not your fault that it seems like Vega doesn't seem to like it. Though I still think it's odd that he still told me to continue hanging out with you."

The Chinese, martial artist shrugs. "I don't blame you. I can't hold you responsible for the actions and reactions of people in your... organization." But inside Quon wonders if he would be going through this if he hadn't met Cammy. And he wonders if there isn't someone else in the organization that also doesn't seem to like this whole situation.

"Lord Vega never told me anything. I do not think he dislikes it, therefore, or I would know very quickly. If he knows, I am sure he knows that I know." Cammy notes, nose wrinkling. "But, well. I don't know." she shrugs. "I thought you didn't like to talk about that stuff. I would like it, if you would not talk about it as well, you know. I do not come here to talk... work.". The Doll doesn't have many opportunities to interact with people out of the context of Shadaloo after all, Quon and his little circle of friends is about it, in fact, aside from Ibuki.
Wilting a bit, she sighs. "I am trying very hard, you know. It's really not my fault. I mean, Rust is just prejudiced. Not everything bad that happens to him is my fault, even indirectly. What can I do? Nothing.". She shrugs, and adds, listlessly, "You want a soda?".

Quon shrugs. He has Vega tell him, himself that he didn't like the whole situation of Cammy being around him. But he's not going to say more out of respect for Cammy's wish to not talk about work. Or the people she works with like that Balrog guy.

"Fair enough. I still think that if you feel that this is unfair, prove your innocence. Find whoever is responsible and find proof of your lack of involvement. But anyway that soda would be good. But let's stay away from the Pao Pao."

Cammy frowns at Quon, frustrated! "Well. If you can tell Rust that I am genuinely willing to help and get him to agree, then I /will/." she challenges Quon. "I will at least try. But how can I if the victim is uncooperative? I don't even know what is missing. I have nothing to work with. Otherwise, you are also being unfair, by asking me to do the logically impossible. So. You can talk to Rust if you like and try and persuade him, and then I will help in any way I can.". She waves a hand dismissively. "I have had enough of Rust and his reflexive dislike of me though. Let us talk no more about Rust this afternoon, or anything bad in general in fact. The last time we had a good time is too long ago.".
With that agreement in mind, Cammy leads Quon off for a soda, and small talk.
