Quon - Killer's Kerfuffle: Refuge in Audacity

Description: Cammy decides that after having been put through the wringer, that maybe Quon might be less afraid of her after seeing her a little worse for wear. That fails. A bad situation is made worse when Fio happens to find both Cammy and Quon at the Pao Pao Cafe.

Cammy is trying her hand at a little manipulation. Painfully aware of how Quon seems to be afraid of her at least some of the time, she has a cunning plan. She occasionally gets roughed up as part of her job like any fighter does, and she figures that hanging around Quon, while roughed up, will make her look more human and vulnerable than scary and psychopathic. Unlike some she is hardly a gifted actor, but if she /really is/ roughed up, then it's not acting, is it.

And so Cammy is settled in the Pao Pao, sporting bruises and a bit of a limp. Maybe the limp is a bit exaggerated for effect. Quon has already been emailed and summonsed to the cafe to drink tea, and so the Bee is waiting in one corner. Due to a spot of bother yesterday she's actually abandoned the red cloak and is wearing totally different clothes from normal - her used once jeans and big fleecy sweater, though she's got the same boots on that she always does. A cup of earl grey rests on the table before her, as yet untouched.

Quon received the email however because of the massive amounts of community service he has been working he hasn't been able to catch the news. Probably a thing in Cammy's favor. Another thing in Cammy's favor is the fact that he's too terrified of her to stand her up.

Quon arrives on time and what he sees is quite surprising. He sees Cammy and it goes to show more ways that Cammy is not normal. Any normal woman would've been roughed up and probably would've avoided arranging a date and if they weren't going to avoid it to atleast cover up with make-up. This only serves to make Quon say, what the hell is going on internally and due to knowing her affiliations, he's even more concerned about the whole being forced to meet with Cammy thing.

While he knows that the veneer won't fool Cammy, he can at least control how he his appearance looks to the rest of the world. With a calm tone in his voice, he says, "Hey Cammy. How's it going?"

Meanwhile, Fio is entering the cafe, but doesn't spot either Quon or Cammy. She doesn't seem to show any bruises or things like that from her recent encounter with Cammy and that mysterious person, but at least the assassination attempt failed as well. Nonetheless, Fio's here in hopes of clearing her mind and enjoying something to soothe her nerves.

"OK... uh... What do I want to drink?" Fio asks as she's led to a table, not too far from Cammy and Quon. "And what should I eat?" She takes off her glasses and cleans them before looking at the menu. "Maybe in the menu?" She says out loud.

Little does Cammy (or Fio) know, but the two of them are just a few yards away, and apparently both oblivious of one another. Though Cammy is in decidedly different clothes from normal, she still has the blonde pigtails for those of sharp eye, and those are nothing if not unique.

She smiles at Quon when he walks in the door - but the smile lasts about half a second. Half turning her head, she blinks at Quon, fears building - she's not exactly picking up what she anticipated and hoped for from him. In fact, he seems even more wary of her than normal.

"Good enough, I suppose." she says, a little numbly, worried about how things are going before she even said a word. "I got hurt a little, but I will be fine, I am sure.". She turns back to Quon, blinking as innocently as she can manage, and nudges a chair away from the tabel for him so he can sit. "You want some coffee?" she offers.

When Quon sees Cammy's smile vanish, Quon inwardly cringes. He knows that his emotions are an open book to the Shadaloo assassin, and based on that knowledge, he knows that he ended up being the cause of awkwardness. He takes a breath and attempts to calm himself down through breathing.

He looks around and sits down. "I'll have a soda. I worked hard so I should be allowed to spoil myself every now and then." He looks around again and then looks back Cammy. Deep inside he's hoping that those injuries came from some type of fighting exhibition or official fight. Though considering Cammy's line of work, he doesn't think that scenario is likely.

Meanwhile, Cammy and Quon are still ignored by Fio, who seems more interested in reading over the menu and trying to decide what she wants. "Ummm... just a cola for now...?" Fio says as she looks to the waitress. "To start me off, yes." She takes off her hat and sighs, leaning into the seat but still not noticing the other two.

Cammy nods. "Yes. You should be spoiled." she agrees with Quon. "You have had a very busy time lately. All so very unfortunate. I will help you though, do not worry. I can be quite resourceful, you know, and I pride myself on my good work.". She gives a little nod for emphasis. Noticing that Quon is peering at those bruises, the ones from the flying kick to her face which Fio delivered quite possibly, she goes very still, looking vaguely self conscious, and hoping that maybe all this wariness is about to turn into sympathy. Maybe.

She reaches down with one hand to pick up a bag which was next to her, and rummages around in it for some cash. "I will pay." she says quietly, and calls out to the waitress, who is just finished with Fio. "I would like to order... whatever soda he wants." she declares, indicating Quon.

"Thanks." He smiles a bit however the glances at the bruises once more but the good work then implies how she got the injuries. He ends up cringing. Realization has set in that she has not in fact done any type of fighting exhibition or anything of the like.

He takes a deep breath in a struggle to keep himself calm. "You don't have to pay. I planned on getting some other stuff in addition."

The sound of Cammy's voice makes Fio look over and do a double take. Even with the disguise, Fio still recognizes Cammy. She slowly inches towards her, seeming a bit uneasy. Then she says, "You! You're the one who tried to kill the VIP I was escorting!" She scowls deeply. "And now you're hanging around here like nothing ever happened?" Those brown eyes behind those glasses narrow. "You're crazier than I thought!"

She then looks to Quon, not recognizing him. "And just who are you? Are you working with her, or are you just a neutral party in this?" The last line seems a bit unsteady, almost like Fio couldn't think of something to say untill the last minute.

Cammy beams at the tiny bit of a smile that Quon offers - and then - gaahahh! Catastrophe! Disaster! Fio ruins everything! "What are /you/ doing here?" she hisses at Fio, eyes narrowing and half getting up from her spot at the table, going from doing her best to look innocent to pissed off, angry malevolence in a heartbeat. "Go away! I am off duty! As you should be!". And then she gasps a bit at the next sentence.

"No, he hasn't done anything wrong. You are doing wrong, by disturbing me.". Cammy has seen some movies, she knows that True Love is supposed to be the ultimate good, right? She just wishes other people would see it that way and leave her be when she's with her crush! "Leave me alone. Leave him alone.".

"Oh fuck..."

Quon does not use curse words lightly outside of a role. If one knows this fact about him, a person doesn't need empathy to know Quon's emotional state. He practically radiates anger, annoyance, resignation to his fate. His head fall into his hands as the scene goes crazy around him.

"Why me?" He doesn't verbally continue his thoughts though mentally he does. 'All I wanted was to play that arcade game. How do I keep managing to get myself involved in this.'

He continuse muttering repeatedly, "I didn't do anything to deserve this..."

"Off duty??" Fio's attitude suddenly changes to confused. "Uh... wait a second, I'm kinda confused now!" She sweatdrops and grins nervously. "I don't know who exactly you are or why you're here, but I would like to know more, is that OK?" She steps back a little, realizing she may have just gotten a bit too overzealous for this whole thing.

Cammy sees Quon crumple, and he's really the priority. "Look what you have done!" she hisses at Fio, even more angry. "You have ruined everything!". She slides up out of the chair adroitly and slips over to stand next to the unfortunate Quon, so she can pat him gingerly on the shoulders, and even pat him gingerly on the head a few times. She doesn't like touching him normally for fear of him being even more terrified, but really, what else can she do. "It's OK, Quon, don't worry." she says in what she hopes approximates a soothing voice.

Still patting the stricken Quon, she turns to glare at Fio, braids whipping around her as she does so (and one swatting Quon right in the face, making his life even more miserable somehow), and reply, "No. Go away. Come back later.".

Quon raises his head from his hands just in time to get a face full of braid making him jerk backwards which has the effect of making him lean backwards in his chair. It's only through instinct and quick reflexes that he manages to kick upwards to lock his body and keep him from faling completely out of his chair.

He leans himself back into a vertical orientation. He replays some of the stuff that is said in his head. 'Off duty?' 'As you should be?' 'Oh hell...'

He takes a deep breath. "Quon Chen, aspiring actor. I was here because she wanted me to hang out with her." A pause. "Assassination Attempt!?!?!?"

His head hits the table hard. Now the whole restaurant is looking at them.

Stepping back a little, Fio blushes. "L-look, if this is a bad time, I'll come back some other time, OK?" She still doesn't know that Cammy is with Shadaloo, but that doesn't matter. All that matters is finding a way to get out of here before things really get ugly. "Let's forget what happened recently, and we'll... uh... we'll just forget this?" She grins and tries to make her way to the exit.

There is a change of plan as Quon smashes his head into the table, attracting the attention of just about everybody. Especially when he starts babbling about assassinations. Mind you, Quon being here means that Cammy is rather unlikely to get involved in any massive property damage or anything - after all, poor Quon is still on community service from the last... incident. "Never mind. We are going." she tells Fio, and reaches out to grab at Quon's shoulders, so she can gently - but very firmly - tug him out of the chair.

"Shush, Quon. You are babbling. Calm down. Everything will be fine." she tells him, soothing, but as Doll-like and robotic as ever. "You better hope he recovers from this emotional shock you have inflicted upon." she informs Fio icily. "Or I will be /very angry/.". Threatening people, for Cammy, is rather like swearing for Quon - an indication of the gravity of this situation.

And somehow, the murderous assassin seems to make out that she is the slighted party here! From her somewhat warped point of view, she is. She leaves some cash on the table to pay for the tea, which sadly will never now be drunk it seems, and tugs on Quon, headed for the door.

Quon's shoulder gets tugged on. He barely resists but he finds himself shaking his head as he is forced to come face to face with Cammy's occupation yet again. "I don't believe this. Can we just hang out without something going wrong for once?"

He looks over at Fio and then brings a palm to his face as he shakes his head. "Why me..."

Sighing, Fio steps back to her table and puts her head into her hands. "Why, Fio? Why did you go and do this?" She shakes her head. "You need to stop overreacting to htings like this! What's wrong with you?" She sits up and leans back, stretching her arms over her head. "I need to learn to get a grip!"

"I know Quon. I know. She is very very bad." Cammy says, wrinkling her nose and scowling at Fio before escorting Quon out of the door. "It is not my fault, but I am very sorry anyway." she tells him, finally letting go of him and taking a half step away, so he's no longer being hauled, dragged or steered.
"And I have had such a terrible time lately." she admits. "I would like to tell you about it, but maybe it would upset you.". She shrugs, and tells him a little bit anyway, to get it off her chest as it were. If she can't confide in Quon she can't confide in anybody after all, except maybe Lord Vega, but he's too busy for this sort of thing. "Balrog, he is back. He went through all my things in my room. Ugh. And he touched my test tube.". She shivers a bit, a psychopath stalking her, not pleasant. Quon can surely sympathise with her in this, right. :p
