Description: On the shores of a beautiful lake, with some history for one of the fighters, the raven haired schoolgirl Miu Kurosaki faces off against the Dancing Spider, Aranha. One is rusty, not having had much of an involvement in the Neo League so far. The other, has had a nearly meteoric rise through the ranks, currently holding the title spot. Neither underestimates the other, though, and an impressive display of the potential of both is put on display. Finally, the question is answered: What happens when a spider attacks a raven?
Jiuzhaigou, China. After the craziness that happened in Taizhou, Aranha was in no rush to return to that country again. But considering his lack of activity in the Neo League in the face of Lightning Week, he found he couldn't be picky about fight locales. Then again, he wasn't all that picky about fight locales anyway. One can't always choose their battle grounds.
When the Dancing Spider arrives, he takes a moment to look around the evergreen forest and the shore line that eventually gives way to said forest. It's not to take in the views. Even if he can't choose the battle ground he can at least maximize any advantages that he has within it.
As soon as he's done studying the environment he watches the camera crew make their last preparations and for the fight to begin.
Following Chris's siting at home, Miu had decided not to return to Seijyun immediately. She doesn't like him. She doesn't want to be around him. And she definitely doesn't want to deal with any screaming fans that might be congregating around the school.
She has never been here before, but, Miu has been making a name for herself in the Neo League. Currently undefeated, the young raven-haired goth does look, perhaps, a little haggard. Having pushed herself to the very limit time and time again, it was a point of pride that she hasn't, yet, turned down a single challenge. This fight is to be no different. She would give it her all, push herself to the very limit, and, in so doing, in the words of Alma, see what her soul is capable of.
Making her way to the fighting area, and standing, with a raven on her shoulder, in front of Aranha, she nods her head to the elder fighter. She doesn't say a word, though. Silent, as she begins, once again, to call upon her power. Small feathers of burning white light and dark, pitch black flowing from her arms.
Cammy arrives from elsewhere.
When Miu comes to him in silence, he doesn't say anything. If she not one for conversation, he can accomodate her. He can at least be friendly in his silence flashing the girl dressed in black a toothy grin as he eases into his dance, swaying left and right.
As he dances his eyes start by examining limb lengths and then he looks into her eyes. The eyes can give a lot away about a fighter.

Miu's eyes are many things. They are hard, a fierce determination burning in them, because, Miu has never had something to defend before. She's been fighting to learn, to teach herself about her capabilities, to discover what she can about energy in the world to save her Brother. But, now, she is fighting to defend her record. It's, strange. She doesn't care what other people think about her, but she cares, deeply, about proving to /herself/ that she can do this. That she is strong enough to compete on a global stage, and earn her place in the King of Fighters.
Her eyes are also tired. The strain on her has been great, and her eyes betray the fact that she has never taxed herself to the extent that she has in the past few days. Suddenly, the raven on her shoulder flutters, up and away, and...
The bell rings.
And Miu's eyes flash with danger. Renewed vigor forced into her limbs, her power rises, and her senses are sharp. Spinning, once, on the spot, she throws her hand out towards Aranha, and three of those swirling feathers burst from her palm, summoned up at her command, and aiming to crash against the Dancing Spider's chest in a trio of numbing, powerful splashes.

The eyes can reveal a lot about a person's character which while important wasn't exactly the purpose for which Aranha studies Miu eyes. Those things, may become important later so he files them away. No. What Aranha was looking those eyes to reveal was when she was going to attack. When those feathers come in, Aranha lunges forward low to the ground as he crawls on all fours to go under the psychic projectiles eating the distance between the two fighters before he dives right past Miu's legs and whips a heel up into her face, the attack looking reminiscent to a scorpion striking with it's tail.

Miu is quite surprised by how Aranha responds to the attack. She hasn't seen someone fight like he does before, and the way he scurries underneath the attack is ... impressive.
When he goes through her legs, though, the girl uses her power to slide forwards, a trail of white power left in her wake, though she doesn't get touched by the attack. That same power helps her move, the girl spinning on the spot, and that same white power coming with her. Aiming to just, smack painfully into the side of Aranha's extended leg.

As Miu slides away from him, he looks under his body attempting to get a view of his opponent. It's what causes him to see something coming but he takes a calculated risk. He's not quite in a good position for what he wants to do which is pull his torso in towards his grounded leg as he draws the extended leg inward.
When the kick comes, Aranha attempts to shoot the raised leg out in a side kick with both of his hands planted on the ground. His timing is off but on the upside, the Miu's kick generates enough momentum to spin around which he uses to spin himself into a standing position.
Once standing, he rubs his leg before returning to his dance.
Miu does her best to keep up the pressure on the Dancing Spider. Stepping forwards, the girl's hand lashes out, flaring with that bright energy as she tries to bounce it directly off Aranha's nose. This had worked pretty well against Zach, so she's going to try the same set again.
If that succeeds, then she'll grab Aranha by the shoulders, twist, and, throw the man into the ground. Bright power following in his movements, as she moves backwards, to put more distance between herself and the man who, so far it seemed, favors close-quarters fighting.

Aranha ends up being caught as he attempts to shift out of the way of the energy strike sent towards his nose. It sends him stumbling out of his dance and right into the grab which in turn leads to him being sent to the ground hard, with a loud grunt.
The capoeirista spins to his feet and then suddenly spins around a whips a hand out lashing out with a blue chi spider web right at the psion's body.

Miu can see the attack coming, and she rolls to the side. Letting it pass to the side. She pauses, for a moment. That, changed things. The girl is quite enjoying this fight, now. Darkness surrounds her fist, and she starts to run forwards, feet treading lightly over the earth.
As she comes in closer, she brings her fist with her. It is not the fist which tries to strike Aranha, though. Dark power, black as a raven's wing, is flung forwards, extending just a few inches in front of her, but aiming to burrow deep into Aranha's center mass, with impressive force.

If someone backs away from their attacks chances are that they favor a long range attack or they have a preference for hit and runs. His Web Shot was his way of letting opponents know that they can't stay outside of his kicking range and still be able to attack at will and provided versatility in his arsenal.
When Miu comes back in, Aranha prepares for it with blue chi gathering in his hand ready to lash out in response but the energy reaches his body before the Dancing Spider can swing his hand out to strike her across the jaw with the powerful palm strike.
He gets sent flying backwards into a roll before he ends up hitting a tree. "Ouch."
Miu doesn't slow down much. The girl gets the feeling that if she gives Aranha the time he needs to compose himself and get ready to hit her back... things will turn very swiftly in his favor, much how she had managed to turn things against her opponents many times in the past, in similar positions.
So the girl comes charging in. Bright power flares around her foot, but, rather than try for a similar attack to the one she had just delivered, she aims to drive her foot against Aranha's head in a hefty roundhouse kick. It should be pretty clear that technique is not her strong point, however, as the kick unbalances her, making it difficult to regain her footing, at least, momentarily...

Aranha gets back to his feet just as Miu charges in raising a forearm just as she comes in with a roundhouse catching it on his forearm before he suddenly turns as he goes to hook the foot around her heel and pull her foot from under her and send her to the ground hard.
If there's a flaw in her technique, he better take advantage of it. After all, he might not be able to stand up to Miu's sheer power otherwise.
COMBATSYS: Miu interrupts Strong Throw from Aranha with Psi-Launcher.

Miu finds herself grabbed, and her eyes go a little bit wider. The first change in her expression since the match began. The strangely detached girl suddenly feels... perhaps, a little bit worried.
She is wrenched up, but, as she hits the ground, her will flares and shields her from the worst of the impact. Feathers, beautiful, are sent flying up all around her from the point of impact, and her hands snare Aranha's neck, glowing bright and powerful.
It's quite an incredible display, as the girl wrenches Aranha back, up, and over herself from her position sprawled out on the ground. The Dancing Spider is sent flying backwards, as the girl does her best to recover, regain her footing, and prepare for the counterattack.
Aranha once again is sent flying backwards into the tree with a grunt coming from his lips. His teeth are gritted in pain. The usually mobile fighter ends up leaning on the tree.
He takes a deep breath and stares at the psion in black before making a silent vow to himself. He knows the odds against him to win this fight but he goes on. He has one goal in mind. He wants to make sure Miu feels at least one attack cleanly before this fight is done.
But he doesn't move to attack immediately. He might need to change the rhythm of this dance to do so and so instead he walks in a circle around Miu, studying, waiting.

Miu recognizes the intensity in Aranha's eyes. Perhaps, Aranha didn't consider the emotions of the fighter to be important. But Miu thinks exactly the opposite. There is a fierce determination there. A determination she had felt often in the past few weeks. She can relate. She can understand.
Which is why Miu does not immediately press the attack. Instead, she exhales, and brings her hands up. She's had to tire herself significantly to keep up with Aranha, her power almost overextended. The Dancing Spider has not managed to hit her cleanly yet... but that has not come cheaply.
Still, there's no words from the girl. Her eyes do all her talking for her. She's, curious. What is the Dancing Spider going to do, next...?

Aranha's counter clockwise walk around Miu ends and he crouches low to the ground to touch the ground for just an instant and then he suddenly launches himself into the air in a back tuck, landing right in front of the psionic fighter and then upon landing he whirls around delivering a blue glowing roundhouse following it with a jumping roundhouse also a glow with blue chi, and then uses the momentum of the second kick to swing him so he lands with his back towards Miu before flipping backwards to deliver a final chi enhanced kick downwards to drive the psion down to the ground.

Miu watches as Aranha comes in, and her arms come up. The first roundhouse is met cleanly. The second, less so, but the bulk of the force of the blow is still mitigated.
The third kick meets a suddenly spinning Miu, and the girl's arms cross across her chest. She skids backwards a few inches from the force of it, but she doesn't back off, nor does she try to dodge.
Instead, quite suddenly, the girl lunges forwards. Her hand aims to snare Aranha around the throat again. If she can manage this, then a massive cone of tangled feathers will erupt from her palm. Aiming to swallow Aranha whole in a vast wave of numbing, powerful energy. As much of her power as she can call on in the few seconds she has, thrust out all at once in a single burst.

Aranha turns around from the final kick and turns in time to have his throat grabbed in spite of him attempting to bring a hand up to intercept the grasp. His hand is too slow.
"Arrrgh!!"
His body is a bundle of pain. He really shouldn't even be standing. His body should be on the ground, his dance is abandoned. The only thing driving him is the desire to land just one attack. To justify the match up ever being made. He's receiving flash backs to what had happened at the Strolheim tournament, he's not seeking to repeat those events again in this fight. Aranha has always been a strange fighter in that he could draw on both logic and emotion at the same time where most fighters forsake one for the other.
Aranha attempts to use logic to seek out vulnerabilities while he attempts to draw on that emotion to grant it speed as he delivers blue glowing kick after blue glowing kick. Roundhouses, outside crescents, spinning back heels, all are used to seek out openings in her defense and fill her with pain before he tilts into a handstand, delivering whirling series of kicks before falling to the ground.

Miu tries to dodge backwards, but... it's hard. She is far too close to make a clean getaway, and the first kick makes a mockery of her attempt to get away from the next. One kick chains into another, and the beating continues for what seems like forever. On some level, Miu wonders if she has enraged a beast, here. If the kicks are ever going to end...
Eventually, they do. But they have left an obvious mark on the raven-haired girl. Her lip is split, her temple bruised, her entire body beaten and battered. She, however, is still standing. When Aranha goes down... she is briefly tempted to respond in kind, to inflict some more pain on him before he gets up...
But something tells her that he isn't, in any condition to continue the fight. Whilst, despite her beating, she, is. She exhales, and turns her power inwards. Letting it bottle up again, ease the pain from her limbs, stem the flow of blood and recover herself.
"Thank you, for the match."
Those words, the only words spoken at all by the gothy schoolgirl, are said, and then she turns her back, and walks away.
