Transylvania. It's hard to imagine somewhere that Miu would fit in better.
The young gothy schoolgirl is wearing her usual outfit, with her raven perched on her shoulder. The castle looms in the background behind her, stretching high into the moonlit sky. It is raining, and it is dark, and it is gloomy. Miu, however, does not seem particularly bothered by this. But, then, Miu rarely looks like she's particularly bothered by anything at all.
In truth, although the girl hides it well, she is very nervous. Still relatively inexperienced, Miu has thrown herself into this Lightning Week full force, and part of that was issuing a challenge to Ibuki, the current league Number One. Although such things would undoubtedly change swiftly in the next few days, as the League rounds up, Ibuki still represents a mighty challenge to overcome. Miu has watched the previous fights of the ninja girl, and she is taking this deadly seriously.
The cameras are rolling, though, now, all that remained was for the ninja to make her appearance! In this dark, dreary place so very full of lingering menace, and the touch of ancient eeeeevil.
Annie arrives from elsewhere.
And the Neo League's harrassment continues or so Ibuki thinks...why oh why did they keep sending her to creepy place after creepy place, this time it was more blatant seeing as her last match had been in this exact same spot!!!
Thus on this miserable and most unforgiving of eves, the ninja girl had remained in the rafters of the castle relaxing until match time, the rafters were safe right? Who'd think to look up there for her when there are oh so many delicious NL crew workers more easily accessible on the ground? That's her thinking at least...if there really were a vampire here which she totally doesn't believe there is...totally.
Ibuki is not enjoying the Lightning Week, it's as though if she so much as blinks there is suddenly someone challenging her or wanting to kick her butt, it was depressing in her opinion all she wanted to do was show up maybe fight a little bit and make some extra side money but no she had to be super successful and now had everyone gunning for her, at least this Miu girl had be polite about it thus why she'd accepted the challege so willingly.
Once the camera's start rolling, Ibuki smirks and slides a thin wire she'd set up earlier, trailing a massive old and battered brown cloth, she lets it flair out behind her as she falls until she's standing across from Miu, then she hurls the cloth away, "Ibuki is on the scene!!" She enthuses.

Miu gives the slightest nod of her head as Ibuki enters the scene. She hadn't seen the wire, but, it'd be hard to see that she is, in fact, surprised in the slightest by the way Ibuki arrives. It does help to reaffirm her suspicion; if she's going to win this, she's going to have to give it everything she has. Fight at the height of her abilities, just as she had done against Alma just a few days prior. For Miu, this is deeply exciting. Yes, there was going to be a lot of fighting and a lot of pain over the next week, but, she was going to grow from the experience.
"Thank you for agreeing to this fight."
The words are spoken softly, a genuine appreciation for Ibuki's time. Miu does try to be as courteous as possible in these situations.
But no sooner has a bell been run by one of the staff, then she is spinning on her heel. Feathers, bright white and deep, void-dark black spill out all around her in a sudden, dramatic display of power. And, as she brings her arm up and around, one of them shoots out, aiming to strike Ibuki between the eyes with a numbing jolt of psychic force. Polite, she might be. But she is also eager to begin the fight!

Having taken up her fighting stance, Ibuki shakes her head and waves her hands in front of her in response to Miu's gentle words, "It's no problem at all really. Kinda had to accept someone's challenge right?" It seems that the ninja girl is a tad off put with her 'fame' from being number one in the Neo League then as the bell is rung, the polite girl goes immediately into an attack and Ibuki finds herself on the defensive!
Perhaps it is sluggishness on her part or maybe the feathers move unexpectedly fast, either way she's totally nor prepared for them and they slam home into her forehead, spinning her back from the force and into the cold flagstones of the castles floor as she rolls into a stone column.
That was painful and embarrassing, Shaking her head to clear the odd sensation therein, she hops back to her feet, "Well you don't hold back at least!" She chirps before speeding her way towards Miu, leaping up and looking for all the world like she's about to spin kick the other girl in the face, she however, falls short and attempts to slide between Miu's legs, pop up, and readjust her spine around the neck area if all goes well that is.

Maki arrives from elsewhere.
Miu slides backwards as Ibuki comes forwards, leaving a trail of sharp white on the ground where she moves. It isn't until the ninja goes down that she sees where the real danger is coming from, though, and, swiftly, the girl jumps into the air. Ibuki goes underneath her, and Miu turns around, the amount of feathers in the air just seems to get more impressive...
But, oddly for most, Miu is not one to talk in the middle of a fight. Not most of the time. So the comment about her not holding back isn't answered with words.
Instead, it is answered when Miu comes sliding back forwards. Her leg draws back, and she aims to catch Ibuki in the side with one power-enhanced foot before the ninja can fully recover. That, at least, is the hope... Miu has every intention of keeping the pressure up as much as she can.

Ibuki is having a rather poor showing as Miu slips away from her leaving a display of feathers in her wake, and the ninja girl looking very foolish. The brown clad girl's eyes widen for a moment as she tries to follow the other girl's movements but she's already gone and it takes her a few precious moments to locate her again, precious moments that were going to cost her!!
Because as she regains her stance, Ibuki finds herself suddenly attacked by the other girl too closely to react she instead tries to take the hit and roll with it but fails completely in this regard, so she takes a painful hit to the chest and once again slams into that same column knocking a lot of dust loose and covering herself in it, for once Ibuki is quiet!
The ninja girl focuses on her target and decides to start going all out, drawing a kunai from one of her many hiding places, she leaps up into the air up and over the other girl, and hurls one of the heavy throwing daggers enchanced with her bluish white chi down at Miu with all the force she can muster, "HA!" She roars with the attack.

Glancing Hit

Miu can't keep up with Ibuki when she leaps, the girl's eyes follow her, though, and they note the heavy dagger that is flung at her. The way it burns with fiery energy.
Raising both her hands, two burning white feathers smash into the projectile, intending to send it flying, to clear the way for a third. She underestimates the force of the attack. The third does follow, but it only succeeds in, finally, knocking the dagger off course. Sending it at a slightly different angle.
She does her best to dodge to the side, stunned that the attack didn't work, and is still caught by the attack, the weapon cutting through her side and drawing blood. That, was unexpected. To her credit, though, she doesn't panic. She just looks more determined than ever.
If the other girl is going to keep mostly quiet, then so is Ibuki, though a part of her confidence comes back when she finally manages not to embarrass herself completely in this fight. Though she did grit her teeth in anticipation of her kunai being knocked away or worse turned back on her by Miu, she's not had much luck with people that seemed to focus on projectiles like that.
"Now for something completely different..." Ibuki says aloud still falling through the air from her prior leap, she did to get impressive height and distance from her jumps if nothing else, though they could be hazzard if her opponents were ready for them which is why she does what she does next.
As she lands from her jump she immediately goes up on the balls of her feet and springs backwards towards the tancturn girl, her hands seeking to catch her head and use it as a springboard to launch herself in a different direction! Hopefully this might rattle Miu's cage just a little.

Miu does her best to evade the strike, sliding to the side... but not swiftly enough. The girl finds herself being used as an impromptu springboard, and that does indeed rattle her. She's not used to people who can react to her so quickly. It was something that she had been stunned by when fighting Alma, how swiftly he could respond to what she was doing, now, she's seeing the same thing first hand against Ibuki.
The girl takes a deep breath, and brings her hands up. Reigning in her power, she turns it inwards. Her energy soothes her neck, her breathing slows, and she calms herself down. Taking a moment, to collect herself, and consider her opponent. The feathers, for the moment, cease flowing out in such an erratic pattern, instead collecting around her feet. She refuses to loose her cool, she will not be drawn into making rash decisions out of fear. She could do this. She'd already proven she could touch Ibuki ... now it was just a matter of making those hits count.

As her feet touch down Ibuki is already spinning around to face Miu and lowering her stance, it seems she had been right that the attack would rattle her as she focuses on something else besides Ibuki, and when someone does that it's time to capitulize on it. Thus while she decides exactly what her action would be she rushes forward to close the distance between the two of them.
Midway through the run, Ibuki grins beneath her mask having come to a decision about what action to take.
Drawing another kunai from a hiding place, Ibuki leaps up, pulling her arms in close for a moment as she spins along her axis to build momentum, before she explodes outward the kunai brought out in a heavy downward striking motion powered by her spin from just a moment ago, should it connect it's probably going to hurt just a tad bit.

Miu has taken a moment to regain her center, but one should never make the mistake of assuming this means she has dropped her attention. She knows where Ibuki is, and as the ninja comes back in for her, Miu twists to the side, sliding backwards, and letting the dagger pass to her side.
Snatching one of those ever-present feathers which have been kicked up by her sudden movement, her fist is wreathed in darkness. She fires out her fist, a void left in the air, as she aims to bring her knuckles into sharp contact with Ibuki's back. A small burst of that dark energy explodes with it, should it touch her. That energy, really, is always going to be the major threat in her moves.

Grazing Hit

Ibuki tsks beneath her breath as her attack fails to connect with the other girl, she swore to herself she was going to make the other girl take at least one of her nasty attacks before the match was through, and to make sure that it hurt when she did. Not that Ibuki's prone to vengeance it's just annoying getting peppered with hits and not being able to land clean ones of one's own.
Moving with ridiculous speed Miu is already launching a counter attack on her, but Ibuki was ready for it, or so she thought the attack whizzes by her face, only the black feathery energy trailing the punch manages to connect though cutting a small jagged little scrape into her cheek and damaging her mask there slightly as well. Thankfully she's not a vain monster like Balrog that'd utterly kill Miu for something like that!
She does, however, move in to take advantage of their close proximity to one another to try and grab the girl by the neck, slap her hip into Miu's, and then toss her over her head and very very roughly into the ground on the other side of her.

Miu allows herself to be grabbed, and as she's brought around, she moves with the blow. Rolling as she hits the ground, the majority of the force is dispersed through her athletic frame, and the schoolgirl comes up, her expression stony and carefully controlled. Truth be told, this is more a sign of how effective Ibuki is being, rather than how angry Miu is. She's enjoying this fight, in a strange kind of way. She was starting to enjoy the challenge of using her power against other fighters, and there's no mysteries or strange attitudes surrounding this fight to complicate it. But, now, it is time to strike back!
Searing white light spills from her as she suddenly, spins on the spot. Gathering momentum, she can only hope that the moment it takes to do this isn't used to get away... thus the lightshow. When she's got all the power she needs, though, she lunges upwards, and all of it comes with her.
The energy lags a second behind her upwards punch, but a large, searing slash follows along with it, aiming to repeat the mild success of her punch... in a diagonal cut directly across Ibuki's center mass.

Once again she can't manage to connect with the other girl, as she springs away from her throw as though it were nothing, Ibuki is left feeling as though perhaps she'd been too confident due to winning all those Neo League matches? If this other girl was any indication she'd been too lazy in her training recently and was letting herself get completely mauled due to her sloppy technique.
This point is further driven home by the fact that when she tries to spin out of the way of the follow up attack from Miu, not only does she fail at this she actually seems to spin right into the way of the worst part of the attack, only her reflexes save her by rocking back on her heels sparing her a crushing blow and merely making it a solid hit, her chest stings as she falls back to the flagstones again and her skin is rubbed raw as she skids slightly from the force she was hit with.
Getting up panting slightly, Ibuki huffs and puffs for a second, then she turns to face Miu and her eyes are very very deadly focused on the other girl. Ibuki doesn't stop to recover, doesn't plan out the next move, she gives herself over to her training and instinct calling the full force her her body's power as she moves...
She attempts to close in on Miu, swings around for a spining backfist with her left hand, this is merely a feint, however, as she brings her left hand around with small ball of her bluish chi in it, which she tries to drive straight into Miu's ribs. Should this happen she then slams her elbow into the same spot and forces a massive amount of her own chi into Miu's internal organs, that she then forces to explode outwards from within the other girl's body, "Yoroi Doushi!!!" She roars as she initiates the attack.

Miu's eyes actually bug out a little as the girl finds herself faced with an impossible choice. The girl buys the feint completely, and it isn't until Ibuki starts to turn it around that she realizes her mistake. Already moving in the wrong direction, she puts everything she has into trying to move /back/ but, it is far too late. She can't even hope to mitigate the damage...
The girl winds up being flung backwards, crashing into, and breaking, the pillar that Ibuki had bounced off earlier in the fight. She, definitely does not look good when she pulls herself from it. One eye closed, and she coughs, a slight trickle of blood running from the corner of her mouth. The assault had done some truly nasty damage.
But she's still standing, and she's not going to let herself back down now. Those feathers have trailed throughout her flight, dozens of them littering the air between herself and the ninja.
Both arms snap out to the side, and the feathers sharpen, becoming imbued with more of her energy. She... could still do this! That thought burns in her mind, a fierce determination that belies her cool, detached expression. She could do it!
And suddenly, all of those feathers move as one, like a rain of explosive arrows. Except, instead of terrible fire, pretty sparks are left in their wake. Still, not a word has left her lips.

Ibuki slams the Yoroi Doushi home and is feeling pretty good about herself, she had momentum in the fight again she had a shot again to totally make a come back in this fight! She sets all her weight on the balls of her feet and prepares for the attack she knows is coming as she is sure the other girl isn't going to make it easy and just fall unconscious from that there's no way!! Not after the fight they'd been having!!
Ibuki's hunch is correct as Miu stands up bloodied and bruised but she stands up all the same. As the feathers begin to move Ibuki's already in motion she attempts to dodge, weave, and leap her way throught the onslaught and at first it works...
However, the sheer number of attacks and from the wide variety of directions they come wear her down, it's not too long before she takes her first hit and from there it is a rocky road as all the feathers seem to home in on her and slam her this way in that as they explode against her body rattling her and leaving her numb and dazed.
%Her body, however, winds up lodged in a wall after it's all said and done, looking rather terrible, complete parts of her dogi are shredded, blackened, and smoking, burn marks cover her entire body, blood pours from a nasty gash above her right eye, and she looks for all intents and purposes out cold.
Then she moves, it's a twitch in her right hand, then a flex of her left, then she hauls herself out of the wall and stands up straight, shakes off some of the massive amount of dust she's caked with now, "Looks like I'm not going to have an easy time this match no matter what I do." She then laughs barely stopping before she starts to cough uncontrollably it seems she broke a few ribs too. After a hit like that there's only one thing she can do and that is take a breather to regain a bit of focus she needs to come from behind...

Miu follows, as Ibuki detaches herself from the wall. The girl doesn't want to give the ninja the breathing room she needs to recover; she knew all too well that when she centered herself, and prepared to enter the fight again, her opponent was in for a world of pain. She's already badly hurt, and she doesn't want to let Ibuki get another one of those powerful blasts in on her!
The schoolgirl's hands aim to snare Ibuki by the shoulders. If she can manage this, her energy will flow roughly into the ninja, numbing as she aims to simply pitch the ninja down onto the ground, hoping to disrupt that focus, and maintain the pressure she had managed to put on the ninja throughout the fight so far.

Her breather is interrupted, thus Ibuki isn't quite ready for the attack that comes her way, but for once that might very well be what saves her as she reacts purely on instinct she dumps all her weight on Miu as she is grabbed, then using one of her arms she knocks the attack away from her as she regards Miu with her eye not filled and covered in blood.
It's a fierce look, it says Ibuki refuses to go down, refuses to to stop until she is out cold. And that's why now that Miu is ever so close to her Ibuki forces loads of chi into her legs, takes a step forward, and whirls around for a massive roundhouse kick to Miu's ribs, this followed up by another equally powerful roundhouse, each one trailing a bit of her bluish white chi along for the ride as the air cracks like thunder from the force her Ibuki's spin.

Glancing Blow

Miu lunges backwards, as the first kick comes at her. It passes within inches, but doesn't quite touch her. A second lunge backwards /almost/ saves her from the second, but not quite. The energy which follows it slashes across her front in symmetry to the close shave she had given Ibuki earlier in the fight. The girl's own eyes... are hard to read. She's determined, perhaps just as determined as Ibuki to see this through to the end, but her expression is next to unreadable. Even though she's bleeding, she looks detached, as though this is not meaning anything to her.
%Steeling herself, she shuts out her heart. Her emotions scream at her to step forwards, press the attack and hurt Ibuki just as much as she was hurting, keep up the pressure and beat Ibuki into the dirt. But, her head... her head says that the fight is taking its toll. She's starting to breathe hard, lagging behind the ninja, and letting her pain cloud her judgment.
So she continues, one last time, to lunge backwards. Almost bowling over a cameraman, as she exhales, and raises both her hands. Centering herself again. Her eyes do not leave Ibuki, and those feathers resume flowing at a more steady pace, rather than the frantic dusting which currently marks the tracks of battle. She even speaks, breaking her silence in the fight so far.
"I... see how you became number one."

Once again Ibuki's attack only skims the surface of Miu's body, making it impossible to land those clean hard hits that Ibuki relies on to win her matches. As the apparently emotionless girl leaps back and takes up her stance to fight again though it becomes very apparent that she's taking another breather herself in the middle of the match Ibuki calms her own senses...
The ninja girls reviews every motion every movement that they've both made throughout the fight seeing all her mistakes and failures played back in slow motion, but there is insight to be had if one can seperate their ego from what is laid before them, it is a risky gamble but Ibuki must be willing to take it if she is to win the fight...
Giving over her instincts to protect herself to fully reacting to Miu's attempts to defend herself, Ibuki commits herself to striking the other girl hard and true over and over again at least for the moment.

Miu's expression doesn't change, but, she meets Ibuki's eye. The young fighter kneels for a moment, and then, suddenly, she's coming forwards. She can sense the change in the ninja, she knows that Ibuki is ready for her, but, she's not going to win this fight if she can't land a hit, and she's definitely not going to win it if she doesn't even try!
Rather than keep her distance, her hands glow with her power, and she comes up, aiming to grab the ninja by the waist as she comes up. If she can manage this, then she'll spring into the air with truly astonishing force, positioning herself as she does so that when she comes down again... Ibuki will be on the bottom.
If all goes according to plan, then Miu should crash Ibuki back down into the bricks and the rubble, in a shower of feathers.

Ibuki's left hand rockets up as Miu comes from out of the sky to strike her, gripping her attacker as the shower of feathers falls around them. Her wrist gives out at the last moment allow Miu the freedom to get away but Ibuki could care less about that she's focused on her attack at this point, defense no longer mattered only the next strike!!
Thus as Miu lands, Ibuki seems to appear out of the ether, ready and waiting she swings her hand back while trying to hold by her clothes with the other, then it becomes apparent what her goal is, another bluish ball of chi is in her hand and she is striking at her ribs /again/ though this isn't nearly as powerful of an attack it will still sting as a blade of chi slices through Miu's organ...should it land that is.

Every sense that Miu has screams at her not to be there any more. She knows that Ibuki is focusing on the offensive, and maybe that is what has prepared her for it. She sees that ball of chi, though, and she knows, with incredible certainty, that if it touches her, she is finished.
So she isn't there. The attack passes right by her side, but the girl manages to skate on a sheet of that glowing energy around to the side, evading the strike for all that she is worth.
Her whole momentum then suddenly changes. A black feather melds from the top of her knuckles, sharp and highly energized, and she lunges as hard as she can, forwards, committing herself absolutely to this one strike. She's tired, the sheer amount of concentration this fight has required has really taken it out of her, and she must end it soon, or she'd be brought down. She aims squarely for Ibuki's center mass, hoping, with everything she has, that it will finally be enough.

Ibuki gives a token attempt to dodge the incomming strike but it is useless in the end as Miu finds her and strikes home with all that she has, as more ribs give way under the onslaught of energy hitting her in the chest, the girl's teeth set and for a moment consciousness fades...there is not much that can be done and Ibuki starts to fall backwards away from Miu.
It's over...she'd done her best right? Ibuki's last thoughts before her mind went blank...or so she thought, "NOT YET!!!" For one pristine moment her mind snaps back clear, calm, and focused, Miu is so close so very close, she can't give up just yet can she?!!! With a final surge of adernaline and iron will she tries to close the small distance between them....
"Yoroi Doushi!!!!" Ibuki crackles with chi as her body is surrounded in it and she swings her fist at her favorite target, Miu's ribs...should this land the other girl already well knows the pain it shall bring her and how it is delivered.

Miu brings her arms together across her chest, crouching slightly, she takes the blow directly on the point where her arms intersect. If... that was all that was blocking Ibuki, Miu would probably be rendered just as unconscious, or, worse...
But it isn't. She knew, before Ibuki was shouting out, that the fighter would give one last, great display of power. How could she not? Now, bright energy flares and crackles, and Miu's will strains against Ibuki's raw power. By the time it has finally exhausted itself, Miu, too, is exhausted. And for a moment, both girls hit the ground.
And then Miu rises, breathing hard, sweating profusely even in the dark rain. "H-hah. That was, incredible." She murmurs, looking down at Ibuki for a moment, before, just, walking away. She's no medic, and she's certain the Neo League staff can take care of her.
COMBATSYS: Miu has ended the fight here.
Ibuki's last hit connects?!!! No, it fails completely...the ninja can't be sure her senses have gone numb and her balance is gone. She falls back and slams into the ground completely unconscious having given her all and come up short. Miu rises as the champion while the NL officials drag Ibuki off for treatment, the ninja girl is blissfully unconscious....at least less people would be gunning for her now right?!
