ElFuerte - Dynamic Charity Time!

Description: A charity event is called up and all ticket sales are to go to help cancer patients. That is why two do-gooders such as El Fuerte and Moe are here to fight to the amusement of the fans. After some confusion the fight starts and both fighters send the crowd home happy even if both fighters were knocked silly in the process.

The moon hangs overhead under wispy clouds. A wind, gentle but still with bite to it, moves through this place, its sound as it sweeps around the empty branches of trees. This place has the solemnity of the grave, an abandoned and ruined Buddhist temple in the hills of Japan, presumably long forgotten. A sobering reminder of the fragility of life, and how time can and will eventually strip everything from us, leaving only memories. A place for contemplation and solemnity.

And fireworks, apparently.

For some reason, the fight promoters thought this location would be the best place in the world to have a benefit fight. After all, the memory of death would encourage people to give more money! Right? That makes perfect sense. And there's absolutely no chance whatsoever that, say, pets buried on this premises will rise again as the hungry dead or anything like that. They've been assured. For reals.

Still, 'Let's Punch Out Cancer!' is a decent charity and they often arrange these sorts of bouts, pulling in mid-tier fighters from all over who are likely to take the gig for the experience instead of the pay. One such fighter is Moe Habana, who steps into the boxing ring-style arena and smiles at the crowd, waving both hands. Most of them are there for her opponent, of course; Moe's still getting her public relations on, but she's got enthusiasm and she's cute, which is going a long way.

And when she grabs the mic from the announcer and shouts, "HELLO, PEOPLE! ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALL?!" the reaction is... mixed! Damn American-raised Japanese.

Mid tier....MID TIER!? It is probably a good thing El Fuerte didn't hear being considered such a thing. For him he believes he is the best at fighting much like how he is the best chef ever. Of course the label as mid tier is more suitable much like how bad chef is suitable for his cooking ability. Just never try to tell him differently or there will be a world of hurt ears from all his posturing and explanations as to why he is the best of all time in both things!

He is about ready to burst onto the scene when he hears Moe scream about football which just confuses the Mexican. Was there supposed to be a soccer match instead of a fight? He has to ask an official near him and soon he blurs off to not be found. This leads the fight promoters rather worried as they discuss among one another on what to do about this. This fight is a charity, but the fans would be upset if they paid all this money and nothing happens all thanks to a girl being confusing on the mic!

That is until there is a scream of surprise in the crowd. "IT'S!" declares a loud voice and from the bleachers that were set up bursts a masked man dressed up in the soccer uniform of Mexico's national team. "DYNAMIC FOOTBALL TIME!" he cries out loudly and lands on the ground with a finger pointed in the air and in a dramatic pose. That is when he realizes Moe herself is not dressed for soccer and there are no soccer balls to be seen which just makes El Fuerte look about quickly. "W....where are the balls!?"

The announcer is staring at Fuerte. The crowd is staring at Fuerte. Moe is staring at Fuerte. Let's be honest, anyone in earshot is staring at Fuerte. The general tone of the situation is: he didn't really just say that. Did he? A few of them exchange looks. But to his credit, nobody actually laughs at the Hurricane of the Gulf, probably because they respect that he came all the way out here for no money to fight and help cancer victims. Moe, for her part, claps her hands together once and smiles pleasantly enough at Fuerte. "Just a... figure of speech there, big guy," the young girl says, hoping to answer the question of where the balls are.

The announcer raises his mic and his hand, introducing the fighters to the crowd. "Thank you all for coming! Let's thank these two fighters for coming down here to--" And here, the crowd interjects: "PUNCH OUT CANCER!" There's a pause before he continues. "That's right. In this corner, hailing from California in the United States and recently come back to the land of her parents, it's Southtown's Moe Habana!" There's some scattered applause, which doesn't seem to keep Moe from waving with both arms at the crowd enthusiastically. "And in this corner, a man who needs no introduction, the spiciest fighter in the circuit... hailing from Mexico, the Hurricane of the Gulf... EL! FUERTEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"

The crowd is more enthusiastic here, as you might expect.

Pulling on black fingerless fighting gloves, Moe gets into stance, hopping on the balls of her feet and smiling at Fuerte. "You've got quite a reputation, Mr. Chef! Let's give 'em a good show!"

There is that awkward few moments where El Fuerte perhaps should have thought things through a big more before acting on it. He is a man of spontaneous decisions, though and cannot be faulted for such things. At least that is what he thinks. "Ju...just a figure of speech?!" he asks and his brow furrows under that mask. "But I took all this time to get the uniform!" he declares and the reason for him being here is forgotten at least for a moment as he shakes his head.

A finger is soon extended and he points to Moe. "You fooled me! How shameful of you to do such a thing young lady!" he declares and there still seems to be something of a misunderstanding. He at least remains where he is while the announcer names each fighter for this match. He then clenches a hand into a fist and shakes it. "The Hurricane of the Gulf always puts on a good show!" he responds.

That is about when the fight is signaled to start and perhaps before Moe can even realize it El Fuerte has become a blur that comes straight for the young woman and suddenly he goes skyward. Flipping about the Mexican warrior aims to drive himself downward at high speed to crash into the poor schoolgirl at high speed. "TOSTADA PRESS!"

Whoa! They don't call him spicy for nothing. Fuerte doesn't waste any time surging in on the attack. He hurls himself at Moe... uh, literally, for the most part. With a yelp of "Whoa!" the Taiyo transfer suddenly hurls herself backwards, a dodge that starts a hop and ends a backwards roll, Moe coming back up in a crouch just as Fuerte hits the mat instead of her. "I like your work ethic, mister," she says to the luchador with a smile, getting back up. This is Moe's first real big public fight in... some time, and she wants to make a big splash. At least she's got a good challenge ahead of her if that's her goal!

"Right back atcha," the schoolgirl warns, shaking out her hands. When she suddenly leaps into motion, it's actually to move *back* from Fuerte a little bit, spinning away in a pivoting turn on one leg... however, this is mostly a ruse! At the end of the turn she pivots *again*, turning her supposed backstep into a sudden forward surge, hand clenched in a fist which she slams downward, looking to hammer Fuerte right across the collarbone and onto the mat!

COMBATSYS: Moe successfully hits ElFuerte with Hoshiyomi.

It is probably a good thing that Moe got out of the way because there is a loud thud of the luchador impacting the ground and leaving a bit of an imprint as he bounces back up to his feet. "Ah hah! A fast one I see!" he says and grins widely. He seems to also be fooled by that Ruse because he is coming forward when the girl is pivoting the first time. The result is he has to move quickly in an attempt to get out of the way of that strike and his footing is thrown off to where she easily slams into him and takes him off his feet for only a moment.

El Fuerte quickly rolls back and flips back onto his feet as he shakes his head. "And pretty strong too. It seems like I have an interesting opponent tonight!" He will have to be more careful for feints like that it would seem. He for now decides to take it a bit more cautious to feel out what else the girl might have up her sleeve as he leaps forward and slings a foot outwards in a simple flying kick aimed to slam into the chest of Moe and throw her off balance. "Let us not slow down! The fans will be disappointed!"

COMBATSYS: Moe blocks ElFuerte's Light Kick.

Moe              0/-------/-----==|====---\-------\0         ElFuerte

"Hey hey," Moe says, blinking, as Fuerte launches himself back into the fray, with a kick that's aimed for... well. Let's just call it a sensitive spot. Moe's not confident she can evade the Mexican's speedy attacks a second time, and well... if she fails to do so? Ohhh no. Instead, she crosses her arms over her chest and hunkers down, squinting her eyes shut as the Hurricane basically bounces off of her. "Watch the goods, there!" she teases. Hey, anywhere's fair game! But Moe thinks of herself as... well, at least PRETTY. Don't want to damage her figure! She brings her arms down, and grins at the suggestion that they keep this fast-paced. "Yeah, I hear you," she says, shaking out her hands and getting ready for round two.

There's two fighting influences on Moe's style. One is the fighting style that her family has practiced for many, many years... one that actually has tiny echoes of the Kusanagi kobojutsu to it, though obviously without their trademark flames. However, another is the Hong Kong action film-inspired Jeet Kune Do, Bruce Lee's unique style. After all, Moe loves fighting and movies, so it's natural she'd pick that up. While her previous attack was more family style, there's no mistaking the leaping jump kick she sends Fuerte's way, complete with "WATAH!" as anything other than wire-fu inspired.

COMBATSYS: ElFuerte fails to interrupt Medium Kick from Moe with Quesadilla Bomb.

The luchador feels the foot connect, but it isn't quite with the impact he meant for it. It doesn't seem to wipe the smile from his face, though. It is more fun to deal with an opponent that can think on their feet like this girl is. He lands on his other foot and quickly sets his other foot down thinking he is prepared for whatever Moe might have in store. It might be a bit of a overconfidence in El Fuerte when he leaps forward towards that flying kick instead of attempting to get out of the way like he should have.

The result is bad timing that results in the knee he was lifting to nowhere near hit Moe when the the two fighters collide and Fuerte's eyes go wide when he feels the impact. It is with enough force that it knocks him away and he goes tumbling quite a bit before he manages to go into a recovery roll that he pops out of. He hahs lightly and he points to Moe once again. "It looks like it is time for the Hurricane of the Gulf to get serious!" he says with a loud laugh. It looks like he is having a grant time if anything at least.

That response gets a grin from Moe as she lands from her kick, then hops back a few steps to give Fuerte a moment to collect himself. Time to get serious? "Well, serious but not too serious, right?" Moe says with a grin, hopping on the balls of her feet for a moment. She's not quite to 'hyperactive' where even being around her is infuriating, but it's pretty clear this is a young woman with a lot of energy to spare. It certainly explains why she got into fighting! "I've seen your fights on TV, I think. Not gonna let my guard down for a second!" And that much is the truth. El Fuerte's got the intensity and she's going to have to keep the pressure on before he can really get going.

This might be why she doesn't let up for even a second; charging heedlessly across the ring, Moe decides to swap back to her family style's mode, swinging a stiff-armed blow around horizontally to crash into Fuerte's stomach. If she can manage that, she suddenly twirls and drives the opposite elbow into after it, then twirls a third time and heaves her body forward, driving that same elbow at Fuerte's collarbone at neck height. It's a surprisingly brutal-seeming technique for so cheery a fighter, but the Way of the Slicing Fist weren't meant for no game show party!

COMBATSYS: Moe successfully hits ElFuerte with Sotosode.

It is hard to tell what El Fuerte might mean when mentioning about getting serious. Very rarely does he ever seem the serious type and when it happens it is rarely on television. The last time he was riled so was by Zangief of all people. And why not? The Red Cyclone had insulted Rainbow Mika and that sort of thing cannot go unpunished! Even so he seems ready for whatever Moe is about to do and his feet are already moving when she comes in towards him. The problem is a foot slips and the luchador can't do much to avoid the strike that hits home and knocks Fuerte to the ground again.

Maybe the sudden shift to where he thought a soccer game was to be played threw him off just a bit. Even so he isn't going to let himself remain on the ground for long. He leaps right back up and forward as he sails forward and towards Moe. His attempt aims to land his hands on her shoulders and slam his feet into her stomach as he leans back and uses his momentum to monkeyflip the woman up into the air and away from him. "Hyaaaah!"

COMBATSYS: Moe dodges ElFuerte's Medium Throw.

Moe              0/-------/---====|=======\-------\0         ElFuerte

Even though his technique might not connect, Fuerte should have the satisfaction of seeing Moe panic just a little. Perhaps because the first part of that attack has all the earmarks of her dad clapping her on the shoulders and giving her a Stern Talking To, which is something that Mr. Habana has had more than ample opportunity in his young daughter's lifetime. Thus instead of a sprightly dash away, or a tuck and roll across the mat, Moe yelps, pinwheels her arms, and turns what should have been a backwards hop-step into a tumbling fall that lands her right on her backside on the mat. Wincing (and rubbing her butt a little bit) as she gets up, the Taiyo senior e-hes an embarassed ^_^ face at her opponent. "Sorry... flashbacks." What the hell does THAT mean?

Shaking her head, Moe claps both hands to her cheeks for a moment before getting back to Fuerte with a grin. "Ready? 'Cause here I come!" Yeah, she seems relentless, but Moe just wants to have good follow-through... and while she's had good beginner's luck, she doesn't want Fuerte to feel like she's taking it easy on him... which would be pretty damn insulting, all things considered. Charging toward him, the girl attempts to get the Mexican in a bear hug... a totally silly maneuver, but then she heaves UP, basically tossing the luchador into the air behind her! It's not exactly the sort of elegant through Fuerte himself might use, but that doesn't make it any less effective!

COMBATSYS: ElFuerte parries Moe's Power Throw!

%Flashbacks? Was Moe preparing to be a wrestler and something happened to her!? Poor girl, maybe El Fuerte can teach her the proper way of being a wrestler in the near future if that is the case. He may never know the real meaning as to why she would say such a thing because suddenly El Fuerte realizes that Moe is coming right for him once again. It seems he finally has his timing and footing down as well because he leans and she actually feels the feet of the luchador land on her forearms when she grasps for him. It is only momentarily and he is flipping upwards and forwards before she can really feel the weight of the fighter landing there.

"I shall try not to give you anymore of those!" he calls and he touches ground only long enough to launch himself upwards and towards Moe once again. His hands reach out to grasp the girl and he uses his momentum to twirl around before getting a firm grip with both legs of his to pull Moe off her feet and bring her skyward. He then flips her about with his momentum with the intent on slamming her on her head. "FAAAAAJIIIITAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS BUSTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"

Fuerte's revenge is swift and merciless! Moe thought that she could afford to take a risk or two, but Fuerte proves that you can't give him even an inch... because what he pays back, he pays back in spades. She knows something's wrong when her bear hug meets empty air; she REALLY knows something is wrong when she processes that Fuerte is standing ON HER ARMS, and then he's suddenly behind her, and she's turning to try and escape his grip but the luchador's precision throwing technique is more than a match for Moe's clumsy grappling; the girl goes end over end, slammed to the mat, and then rolls away, head spinning.

"Ey... there's the pepper," she says to Fuerte, getting to her feet and smiling at him. "I knew you wouldn't let me down." Hopping on her feet in place for a second, the Taiyo student prepares herself for the fight to enter phase two! "Good to know you're as good at fighting as you are entertainingly Mexican!" says Moe Habana, Racist In Training. With that, however, she rushes in and suddenly snaps out a punch aimed square for Fuerte's nose, looking to pop him one under the chin with snakebite speed. Throwing maybe isn't her thing, but punching... she's awful good at that.

COMBATSYS: ElFuerte interrupts Medium Punch from Moe with El Fuerte Dynamite.

[              \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\  < >  ///////////////               ]
Moe              1/----===/=======|===----\-------\0         ElFuerte

Moe seems very good at punching. El Fuerte has already found that out. While she might just seem like any other spunky schoolgirl ready to punch him in the face she has done quite well in that task where others usually don't have such luck. Perhaps that is exactly why El Fuerte was mentioning he was about to get serious. That last Canadian Destroyer like move certainly seems to be a precursor to what the luchador is prepared to do to make this fight interesting. If Moe isn't going to hold back punches than why should he!?

That is exactly why when he seems her come in he grins and bursts forward. "EL FUERTE!" he cries out and he tilts his head enough to where that punch glances off his jaw more than hitting him squarely like Moe had hoped. Of course this is met with a powerful knee slamming into Moe's midsection to knock her off balance. That is when the luchador really lives up to his title of Hurricane of the Gulf. He is a blur of strikes. Fists and feet both hit Moe all over before he launches into the air once again and comes slamming down on top of the girl while screaming. "DYNAAAAAAMIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITE!" After the impact he is quick to bounce off and backflip to land on his feet while waiting to see if Moe gets up after that barrage.

Oh man. Do not taunt Happy Fun El Fuerte. He might destroy you.

It takes a second before Moe gets herself off the floor after that attack, looking a little dazed. She's a bit tougher than your average schoolgirl, but Fuerte packs quite a punch and that was clearly one of his stronger techniques. The acrobatic technique lays the Taiyo schoolgirl out flat on the mat for a good deal of time, but eventually she does get to her feet, grinning at Fuerte like a maniac. "See? What did I say... can't let up on you for a second. Look where it gets me. Come on, though... I ain't done quite yet." She runs her hands through her hair and makes a beckoning gesture with one hand. Looks like she's waiting for Fuerte to come to her?! Who can say?

COMBATSYS: Moe gains composure.

Needless to say that El Fuerte is quite impressed by the fact that Moe does get up after such a powerful strike. He grins wide and gives the girl a thumbs up even up seeing that. "Very good! You do have a fighter's spirit!" Not only can she hit hard, but she can take a hard hit. This one seems to have some potential for sure. He will have to do his best not to underestimate her anymore this fight. Who knows what trick this girl may have up her sleeve!

"A hurricane is unpredictable so of course you shouldn't ease up!" he replies and that grin of his goes wide. he seems to be rather proud of himself. "I won't disappoint you anymore if I did earlier. El Fuerte will fight on at full speed!" And he doesn't look to be telling a lie right then and there the way he surges forward. He surges forward to close the gap and then he leaps upwards and slings both feet forward while flipping through the air. The feet are aimed to slam Moe right under the chin as he does a complete flip and attempts to land right on his feet. "Hup!"

"Haha, you weren't disappointing. This fight's been a good challenge!" And that much is absolutely true. The only reason Moe went all out right from the start is that she knew if she didn't, she'd be put on the immediate defensive... and when Fuerte struck back, that's exactly what happened! She knows that she's got to pick it back up if she wants to stay in this fight, and that's exactly what she does. As Fuerte hurls himself into the air, Moe all of a sudden stomps down with one foot, assuming a guard-like stance, and giving that energy-building sort of "Haaaaaaaa...!" vocalization. Is she going to fireball him out of the sky, Sakura-style?

Not exactly. Fuerte's double flipping kick slams into Moe, but only once she's begun motion of her own. Arms extended, one knee crooked, she suddenly twirls forward in a spinning motion along the ground, knocking Fuerte's legs out of the way and continuing to spin at him like a top for a handful of rotations, before shouting "Ouran!" and suddenly leaping upwards with a twirling uppercut, both arms raised. Anyone who's seen Kyo Kusanagi's Oniyaki will recognize the pose, cementing the similarity in her family's fighting style... but instead of flame, both Moe and Fuerte are surrounded by a flurry of cherry blossoms fluttering through the air all the way through the uppercut.

Don't ask why. But it really does happen.

Fuerte isn't exactly in a position where he can question the cherry blossoms. In fact things turn into a bit of a blur the moment he is struck while in the middle of his flip. Things are thrown all out of sync as he feels quite a bit of pain from the strikes delivered upon him and the only time he realizes everything is all said and done is because of the fact he is on the ground and he doesn't feel anything striking him anymore. For the first time El Fuerte is also kind of still as he lays there in a heep.

That is when his body shifts and instead of leaping upwards to his feet again he instead seems intent on pushing his hands onto the ground then push himself forward at high velocity. He is aimed to take out Moe's legs with his own as he slides forward and once past her he spins and comes back up to his feet. "Ole!"

Rule #2: Always keep your eye on the ball. This is a lesson that Moe learns quite well in this battle. She actually thought she'd laid Fuerte out for the match after that blow, if his extra time on the ground was any indicator, and so she decided to dust herself off, stretch sore muscles, and do a couple other things. None of these were 'prepare for sudden sliding kick from still-up opponent', and so when Fuerte suddenly comes in like a slippery fried squid, Moe is caught and goes head over heels right onto the mat with a loud "WAH!" shout. Eventually she gets back on her feet, probably around the same time Fuerte does, and shakes her head ruefully. "I pretty much deserved that. You pack a punch yourself, Mr. Fuerte," Moe says, tapping her fists together and getting back into stance.

Whoa, then she's running! Really fast, even! "But punching's not all I can do!" Driving at Fuerte like a bat out of hell, the girl suddenly hops forward, tucking her knees up, looking like she's about to knee him in the face... before that becomes a full backward somersault, her leg kicking out in a bicycle kick as she shouts, "Enbi!" Looks like there's going to be a little soccer here after all.

He doesn't mind even if Moe is all punches. The fact she is jumping right into the fray and not taking some cowardly way like throwing fireballs or launching arrows from a distance is proof enough that Moe has courage and heart to be a good fighter. Or at least in El Fuerte's mind that is how it works. He just nods and seems more intent on watching movements intead of responding with words at the moment. Even so he finds himself being worn down a bit more than he had expected. It means he is slower in his movements and while he thinks he is prepared to get out of the way he finds himself becoming a nice soccerball for a briest moment when that kick impacts.

"El Fuerte....." he weezes while pushing himself back up onto his feet and he sways about. His hands reach behind him and he lurches forward as arms come back around. How the hell did he get a frying pan and spatula!? Moe might not have enough time to ask that question because El Fuerte seems intent on becoming a flurry of blows once again with both items intent on beating on the girl. "DYNAMIC COOOOOOOOOKING TIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIME!" Even so all the swinging takes the energy out of El Fuerte be it hit or miss and he slumps forward. Oddly he has the time to somehow hide both those items again which only makes things more odd.

Moe has enough time to get the following partial sentence out: "What the he--"

Then, you know that sound when Peach hits with her frying pan forward smash attack in Smash Bros.? Yeah. Multiply that times like, thirty, and throw in a few plastic-sounding *clunk!* noises for the spatula hitting occasionally, and that's basically what happens. She *definitely* knew Fuerte was down after that, and she was prepared to fend off one last stand from the high-energy luchador. But not THIS. Nobody prepared her for THIS.

Moe's last words conscious are to look at the (now KOed) Fuerte and go: "The heck, guy?" And then, because she has been beaten severely with a cast-iron skillet, she slumps forward and onto the mat, thoroughly unconscious.

There's a moment where EVERBODy seems confused, but the announcer seemed ready for this. "Well, it looks like... this is a draw match! But the real winners here are the cancer patients who will benefit from tonight's ticket sales! Thank you everybody, and let's give these fighters a big hand!"

Applause is nice! It's better if you're awake to hear it, though...
