Description: Cammy hunts down Sagat, again, for some help with a training related problem. And while the help isn't quite what she had in mind, it all works out in the end, more or less.
It had been some time since the last talk between the former emporer and Cammy. Since then he has left and has not returned to the base proper. He has had both missions and personal things to deal with since. There was a battle that he and Juri had to deal with along with his travels to find Ryu for one more match. Unfortunantly so far he has yet to accomplish that. His travels only had him run into Frei which ended up being a pleasant surprise he would admit. Of course despite having some freedom of what he does Shadaloo always keeps tabs on him so if he is needed they know how to get him.
For now reports have him being in the rural areas of Thailand. Actually near the place he grew up to be exact. He has decided to take a break from traveling just for a day or two at least and let himself recover from all the walking he has done. There is a small hut out on its own several miles away from the nearest town. That is where the large fighter is at the moment sitting outside under a tree with his eye closed and seeming to take a nap.
Cue the Killer Bee, making her way through the countryside, towards the hut where Sagat was reported. She's being fairly stealthy, though not really trying her hardest - after all, this is Thailand, there's nowhere safer than here for her pretty much. And also she knows Sagat will probably smell her or something anyway, she's already acquainted with his sharp senses.
So from out of the branches of the tree under which Sagat sits, Cammy suddenly appears, leaning out from the cover of the foliage, two long braids hanging down over her shoulders - long enough to be almost at Sagat's head level if he stood. Long hair, and big Sagats. She blinks at him, and waits, not wanting to disturb Number 2. He'll address her in his own time, she is sure.
It all depends on if he was truely sleeping or not. The problem when in the position he is in her rests when he can but there is often no actual sleep. That much is shown in the fact people might sneak up on him no matter where he is. In this case there seems to be no worry of danger or the like. And that is just confirmed when he opens that single eye and he shifts his gaze to look at Cammy. Curious that she would come out all this way to find him. He figures she must have a message of some sort from Vega in this case. Someone from NESTS perhaps causing trouble again and he wants some muscle to deliver a message.
He makes no movements to stand up and instead just rests there with legs folded Indian style and a hand resting on each knee. "And what message do you have for me today?" he asks while not seeming angry in the slightest at the disturbance. He might be if it was the likes of Juri, but the Dolls never truely bothered him so he has no reason to treat them like many of the other Shadaloo agents do.
Cammy shakes her head, causing the braids to bounce and jiggle. "Good afternoon, Sagat. No message.". She coils up for a moment against the branch, and kicks off, launching herself into the air, twisting gracefully in mid air to land in front of him, facing him, boots crunching into the earth. When at rest, she promptly salutes.
"I hope I am not disturbing you. As this is not Shadaloo business at all, really. Otherwise, I would talk to Lord Vega. But Lord Vega does not like being bothered by things which are too insignificant to merit his full attention. And you seemed quite helpful when we finally met.". Cammy has probably met Sagat plenty of times, but only the last one can she actually remember, so she might have a rather slanted view of just what the ex-emperor is like.
No message? The girl came on her own again for some small talk? While this isn't something Sagat minds he can only think this means it is close to where Vega might be considering another brainwashing of the poor girl. He never does like it when she starts to get this way despite the fact shes till always seems to remain loyal. The bastard just likes having too much control. It makes him feel slightly disgusted just to hear her say she finally met him when honestly they have both known one another for quite some time.
Still he manage to quell his anger towards Vega for the moment and attempts to remain serene, or at least as serene as a man like Sagat can come off as. "I see." He supposes in the end who else would she talk to. It isn't like Juri or Adon are the types to listen to small talk. Even the other Dolls are even worse off as far as being controlled is so they can't be great to talk with. "So what do you wish to talk about?"
"I am looking for advice. And maybe assistance." Cammy replies, a slightly apologetic tone in her flat voice. "I have a friend in Southtown, he wants to be a fighter. He is not really a very good fighter, in truth, but he is young and he has only just started his career. So... I offered to teach him, as I am much better than he is.".
"But. I have never really been ... taught. At least I don't remember if I was. Maybe I was born knowing. In any case, while I do know how to fight myself, it does make it hard to teach someone else, I just don't know what to do." she admits. She was made to obey orders, kill people on demand, and be loyal - teaching never really came into it. "Oh. And he uses chi. I have no idea how that works. Maybe you could show me how to do a good job?" she asks.
It is odd how he seems to be one that has been providing answers for people as of late. Frei had questions he needed answered as well. Of course that was a curious case given they were answers he needed that involved Adon. Something Sagat has vast knowledge of unfortunantly. But he wonders who she could be training. Someone in Southtown that was young does pique his interest. It also pains him to not really be able to explain to her how she learned to become a fighter. It wouldn't matter. If he told her Vega would just get violent and he would have to clash with the Shadaloo leader for 'breaking' one of his toys and Cammy would just forget this conversation happened among other things.
"Cammy, should you be doing this?" he asks and he cants his head a bit to the side. "I am not sure Vega would be very pleased if he found out you were training someone instead of doing something more useful." And Vega will find out. He always does. For all Sagat knows Vega could already be planning on paying the poor guy a visit without Cammy knowing. "Who is this person you are wishing to train?"
Cammy looks downcast, even woebegone, at Sagat's question. "I do not think Lord Vega will mind. He is very insignificant." she says, a little defensively. "I did find many promising fighters and reported back to Lord Vega, but he wasn't interested in any of them. This one is much weaker than all of those. You think Lord Vega would care about him?" she wonders, tilting her head a little as she looks up at Sagat.
"His name is Quon. He lives in Southtown, in a dorm. He goes to college there. I have his address - and his email, too." she tells Sagat. "Lord Vega has not given me any specific orders lately. And I did ask, even. You think he will think I am not loyal? You think I should tell him about this?" she asks, reaching around behind her to take hold of a braid, twisting the tip of it around a fingertip unconsciously.
Oh Vega will mind in some way. Probably not so much if it were anyone else doing this, but he always has kept a special interest in Cammy even if he acts like he doesn't alot of the time. He honestly feels sorry for whoever it may be that this girl befriended and then she says the name. Right then and there Sagat tenses up when he hears the name Quon and his eye narrows. Oh this isn't good at all. Vega certainly might be interested if he found out Cammy is training the same guy that ruined one of Vega's transports that was going from Thailand to China.
Slowly Sagat rises to his feet and he reaches out to rest his large hands on the shoulders of Cammy. "You are loyal, Cammy. There is no doubt about that." he tells her and he takes a deep breath before letting out a sigh. "But you should leave this man alone. I do not believe anything good could come of this." He almost sounds like a father chiding his daughter for dating the wrong type of boy, but overall Sagat is trying to help Quon in this instance. If Cammy has been around him Vega will not be happy when he finds out. There is no if about this. Sagat knows he keeps people around at a distance to keep tabs on the Doll.
"I can't just... leave him, though." Cammy says sadly. "What if I don't train him?" she asks. "You think that will make it better? I suppose that is not so bad. Then Lord Vega need not worry about any secrets being divulged, or anything like that.". She doesn't even know about what Quon has been up to regarding any shipments - he never told her. Probably wisely.
She paces around in a small circle before Sagat, still fiddling with her braid, shaking her head, with a huge frown on her face. "I am loyal. I am /very/ loyal." she mutters, blinking blue eyes. And she is. She knows it! "No training. OK, no training. I hope Quon won't mind.".
It is probably best the girl is mostly in the dark about things. How Quon attacked and took out some of Vega's minions and how Quon was almost shot to death if not for Sagat arriving at the last moment. He too holds interest in Quon, but knows better than to do anything other than watch from afar from the most part. The kid's life is already turned upside down for the most part. Cammy might just make it worse without her knowing. "Can you truely train properly since your styles differ anyways?" he asks and he removes his hands to cross them over his chest.
He just hopes he can shift things to where Cammy isn't too upset, but he can also save Quon in the long run. "Quon is a capable fighter and if you are truely worried I can keep an eye on him for you. I am sure he will be fine." He tries to sound reassuring and it isn't like he is telling a lie. He is watching Quon afterall. Just in a very subtle way. Or at least as subtle as a seven and a half foot tall cyclops can be.
"Well, I do not know, he is very versatile. I showed him some new kicks, and he seems able to use them." Cammy tells Sagat. In truth, the training part is pretty secondary to her, she only offered that to make him a bit happier to see her - even she could get a subtle hint of 'go away' from Quon. It's just an excuse - for her to hang around her friend.
A shame Quon doesn't really seem to like her much! Who knows why Cammy latched onto him. Even she doesn't know, really.
"I am not really worried. I will not train him, OK. I am a little disappointed. Maybe Quon will be disappointed... probably.". Her nose wrinkles, as she thinks, wondering how this will go down when she explains to him.
Sagat just gives a nod and he slowly starts to settle back down against the tree and sit as he was. He thinks for the most part he managed to talk the girl out of causing too much trouble. If only she would understand just exactly why Quon wants her to go away. Cammy is a bit too innocent in some ways when left on her own and while it is cute to an extent, it is overall tragic because it can't end well for people. "As much as it may pain you we aren't exactly in a position to have many friend." he tells her while giving a bit of a grimace
He does try to cheer her up in a way. Or at least the best way he could thing of. He isn't obviously the type to handle confused teens, but sadly probably among all people Shadaloo he might be the best at it. "But don't worry. I will help make sure he improves and even if we can't have friends like normal people consider me a friend, okay?" He would smile, but honestly most of the time that is more disturbing than comforting so he refrains from it.
Cammy nods at that. "I know. He is the only one." she tells Sagat, a bit plaintively. "Well, there is Ibuki as well, I suppose, but I don't know her very well. We only met once, in fact. It doesn't interfere with my work." she assures Sagat. "Lord Vega was very happy with my last report, so I know this to be true. I think he was happy when he tested me on his minions as well, though it is hard to say... he was annoyed with his minions I think, but not me.".
She pauses to think a moment. Hmm. Maybe this will come out OK after all, as all she's done is find Quon an /even better/ teacher. "Can I tell Quon that you will help him learn?" she asks, curious. "Or shall I just keep it as a surprise?".
So she has been meeting other people as well in a capacity that does not involve her beating people down completely. That is probably a good experience even if in time she will forget and just have to start again. It always happens like clockwork it would seem. "Ibuki? That name does sound familiar." Something about a girl getting some noteriety over in Taizhou from what he remembers. That one might not be so problematic since ninja are very good at running away and going undetected. "Maybe I will have to meet her one day." Not that he is serious, but he thinks that might be something Cammy would like to hear.
He then considers the questions she asks there near the end about Quon. He mulls it over. "You can tell him if you wish." he finally says. Quon already knows Sagat is somewhat keeping an eye on him. If anything he should try to pay the young fighter a visit on his own to let him know he is trying to actually help him. The poor guy probably doesn't have a white pair of undies left at this point.
Cammy blinks. "You know Ibuki?" she asks, a little surprised. Far as she knows she's just another schoolgirl, happily oblivious to any ninja-ness. All her friends have more secrets than Cammy herself does, it seems... "Mmm, that could be nice, I suppose. I don't think she's much of a fighter. She just talks about boys all the time.". Such a drag, really, but she's also one of those 'can't say no' socially overpowering types.
"I will tell him then. He will be happy, I'm sure. The second greatest teacher in the world.". Sagat is #2 after all. "Thank you Sagat.". She salutes him. "You want to sleep again now?" she asks.
Sagat just gives a faint shake of his head. "I do not know her, but I know the name." he replies. It might be interesting to test someone like her though in battle. A person that managed to survive the hardships of Taizou and the ravages of war that erupted there. "There is no rush. But if you meet her again perhaps you could tell her someone is interested in meeting her." He is sure Ibuki knows his name though so she probably won't be too keen on that. Then again it might be more to help Ibuki than anything. Being near Cammy can be dangerous just because of Vega.
He lets out a soft chuckle and he nods his head. "I have traveled alot recently and I have had a few tough fights." Most notably the battle with Terry which took alot out of the large fighter. "I just need some time to rest and I will be back to my usual self. Can't let age get the better of me now can I?" he asks and there is a bit of a forced grin there. He is trying to joke, but humor is far from something he is good at.
Cammy arches a brow at that. She never really thought of Sagat as old - more timeless, a bit like Vega. "I do not think you are old." she tells him. "Gen. Gen is old. You are not old. Maybe in another decade.". Such a long time, when your memory is measured in months, for Cammy that seems like forever. "Which is a long time.".
"But everybody needs rest. I like sleeping as well, though maybe not out here.". Why sleep by a hut when there's a nice warm secret underground lair nearby, with everything a Doll could want in it. "I suppose it's your home though. The base is /my/ home. So I will leave you. Thank you for your help. Quon will be very happy, I am sure.".
No, Sagat doesn't feel too old himself just yet. He can't allow himself to feel that way when he still has so much left to do. He has to make sure he stays strong so he can one day attempt to defeat Ryu afterall and who knows how many years that may take. There is no time to let himself worry about his age slowing him down and he will just continue to strive to be the true Emporer of Muay Thai until actual replacement that deserves the title shows himself.
"I am sure he will be. Be careful out there. NESTS is still at war with us and they might have you targeted. Another reason to be careful when around your friends." That is actually a pretty good warning, there. He has run into some of the more sadistic people of that organization and the last thing someone like Quon or Ibuki needs is Krizalid finding out they are associated with the Killer Bee. After wishing her farewell and leaving that warning his eye closes again. It looks like it isn't long before he is at least in a bit of a trance like state so he can rest.
Cammy merely nods, well aware of that, she's had some NESTS people jump her in Southtown - it's a dangerous place for Shadaloo at the moment. Unfortunate that she has to keep going there to see Quon - probably even more unfortunate for Quon, really.
She salutes until Sagat's eye is closed, and then she's off, quickly jogging off, back to the base perhaps, or somewhere more remote on Lord Vega's orders.
