Description: Cammy, deciding that she wanted to see Quon again breaks into his dorm. After the initial surprise of discovering a leotard clad Shadaloo assassin in the dorm, the two share Cheesecake and awkward conversation.
Classes for the week are over and there are many things to get done. Like homework and class projects, plus there are the lines that need to be learned for the Drama Club's newest production. To do all that, he needs to make a stop over at his dorm room for a couple hours.
When he gets to the lobby he greets the security guard at the desk before heading up the elevators to his dorm room. He doesn't quite expect him to respond though. He's currently signing in guests of another student, and calling for permission to send them up.
Cammy has done her research, and while the objective is rather different, is considering this current challenge just like she would consider a straightforward assassination. She knows where the target lives, she knows roughly when he'll be back she's spent a bit of time walking around the environs - not hard, given it's a university and she doesn't look all that out of place here even in her cloak - and best of all, at this time of year it gets dark early.
So while Quon is heading up the elevator, Cammy, after checking the coast is clear, is rapidly scaling the wall outside, hauling herself up adroitly from windowsill to windowsill, combat boots finding what small purchase they can on the brickwork and the drain pipes and whatever else is in range. A small bag is slung over one shoulder throughout.
Eventually she reaches the targets window, and fortunately, it is ajar, which will cut down on the property damage aspect of breaking and entering. Tugging it open enough so she can wriggle in, she makes her way into the darkened room and after discarding her cloak, promptly settles down cross legged on the floor in the darkness, digging into her bag to retrieve it's contents.
The window is ajar? Quon will seriously need to have a talk with his roomie about that. As he rides up in the elevator, he's head bobbing to music on his iPod as he goes up alone.
When the door opens he weaves through the serpentine corridors of the floor in fairly good spirits when he finally gets to his door. It takes a bit of time but eventually he gets to his keys and opens the door, reaches for the light and sees...
A Doll, sitting on the floor! Even with the uniform on, yellow tie and all. With a bag on the floor next to her, which apparently contains paper plates and cheesecake, as there are two plates on the floor in front of her, both with cake slices on them now as she's had a little time to get ready.
"Hello." she says, blinking up at him now the lights are on. "You should keep your window locked, you know. Anybody could get in here.".
Quon's jaw drops open. If he was physically capable of it, his chin probably would've hit his shoes if not the floor. To say he was in shock would be a major understatement. He's trying to figure out what the hell he did to have her show up in his place. And he hasn't interfered with any Shadaloo shipments so that possibility is out.
On the other hand he's in a situation that most University students would envy. Beautiful woman who is clad in an outfit that doesn't leave a lot to the imagination sitting in front of him with food. Ok it would especially be the envy of those who are hearty eaters.
The difference is, Quon has a bit of an inkling of the Zero Doll's affiliations and so as a result, this isn't as exciting to him as most would find it. There's a long pause to search for a reaction that probably won't leave either party with hurt feelings or in his case a hurt, dying body. "Oh, hi. This is a surprise..."
He glances over at the window with the curtain blowing from the window, the obvious point of entry. He then makes a note of yelling at his room mate. "What are you doing here?"
Cammy grins at him, not a common expression, but she is greatly amused by the look on his face when the door opened. "You look very funny, when you are surprised.". She tilts her head, watching all manner of thoughts apparently cross through his mind all reflected in the mirror of the face, and then, at his question, reaches down, to nudge one of the plates an inch his way.
"I was in the area, so I thought I would come visit. Given how you taught me everything I know about fighting. Maybe you want a rematch?". Doll Zero can even make jokes. "You hungry?" she asks, looking down at the offered cheesecake, and then back up to his face, with a slight frown.
Quon sits down. It's not like he has anything better to do like homework or studying the script... Oh wait he does. Correction. It's not like he has anything to do that begging off wouldn't provide too much of a risk. He sits down and looks at the doll sitting across from him.
"Well. Most people would call up for permission to be let in." There's a moment of silence before he responds to that from her side. "You're not most people." He adjusts his body a bit to make himself comfortable before taking the offered plate.
Rematch? "Uh sure... But I'm not teaching you how to play Vega. I damn near had a heart attack when you picked him because he's that powerful in the game." He's not about to admit that the other reason was he knows that she's with them. He doesn't want to be on their radar any more than he already is.
"I am not most people, you are correct, and besides. There's a security guard down there." Cammy points out. "And he doesn't know me. And you havn't told him about me, or anything. So I'm sure he would say no, and tell me to go away. Maybe in future, after we go down and you introduce me to him, he won't mind and he'll let me in. It's not like I really wanted to have to climb up the wall, you know.".
She munches quietly on cheesecake, while watching him. Is he not eating? Pff. Her eyes narrow a bit. Expensive cheesecake, wasted. "And if I phoned you from downstairs would you let me in? Probably not. And besides, the look on your face was worth me climbing up the wall for." she says, smirking again.
"And OK, not Vega." she says, amiably enough. "Maybe we could train for real too as an exchange. You can teach me, and I will teach you in exchange.".
"Good point." Quon has to admit it. He probably wouldn't have given her permission to come in and he probably would've put a whole lot of people in danger just so she could get to him which in the grand scheme of things would've been much much worse.
It isn't until she starts on her cheesecake that he starts on his, munching on it thoughtfully. The thoughtful expression is at its most pronounced when she asks if they'd like to train for real in exchange.
On one hand, she's a member of a faction that he ended up being a thorn in the side of just because he couldn't stand by watching their grunts terrorize people when they had already gotten their point across. On the other hand, that experience. The conversation he had with Sagat about those events, and his memories of fighting Wu Jie back at the temple when he was younger have made it clear that he still has a long way to go.
As a result he finds himself having to make a decision. Does he take training from someone he's ended up making himself an enemy of, or does he find his own path. He can't play the hero to everyone, and who knows? The time spent training him might be a time that keeps her from killing someone. "We have ourselves a deal."
But what if this training draws even more attention from Vega? Can he handle the consequences?
Cammy smiles a thin smile when he actually starts eating, and assumes that he is just as suspicious by nature as she generally is. "Don't worry, if I wanted to kill you it wouldn't be with poisoned cake." she 'reassures' him. "Lord Vega has never mentioned you to me. In fact, my tasks only involve beatings at the moment anyway."
As for consequences, it seems unlikely that Cammy could deal with those, let alone Quon. But maybe Vega won't mind. It's only talk, after all. And fisticuffs. "A deal? Well. Excellent." she replies. "I guess we'll have to arrange a time to meet. Though... I don't know kung fu so I won't be able to help you there, you like kung fu, no? Maybe I could beat Feilong into agreeing to help you." she ponders, thinking. "If you would prefer that, I could try?". The Killer Bee casts a questioning look at Quon. "I don't think Lord Vega likes him anyway, and I could use the practice. So little fighting lately, it's all talk talk talk.".
Here's where it gets kinda awkward. "Heh heh. That's nice to know." It's a good thing he has a bit of acting training. It's the only thing that keeps him from shuddering at the possibility of being killed in general. The fact that Vega hasn't mentioned him is genuinely reassuring.
Talking about beating up Fei Long to agree to help him? That would kinda make getting a movie career off the ground a little harder than he would like. "I think I'd like to handle talking with Fei Long myself. I've been wanting to join his stunt crew for some time anyway." He pauses for a moment. "Besides... I'll be your punching bag for awhile." See? Even while scared shitless, Quon can make a funny too!
"You have so little faith in me." Cammy tells him in a serious tone, even more serious than normal. "I'm not going to use you as a punching bag. I am not a bullying fool like Adon, I am serious, it will be training." she insists. "And, alright..." she replies, a little reluctant about not being needed to (try to) beat Fei Long. She shrugs.
"Hmm. I think you are still uncomfortable." she says, peering at Quon for a moment, trying to use what limited psycho power she has to divine his state of mind in defiance of any acting that's going on. "You want me to go away for a while, perhaps, come back another day? Maybe my surprise visit has upset you even more than I thought. I have another friend, Ibuki, maybe you'd feel better if she was around as well." she muses, thinking of future plans.
His eyebrow jumps up slightly at the mention of Adon's name before he reasserts control over the physical appearance of his emotional state.
He also decides to avoid the question about him wanting her to go away by digging into some more cheesecake. The eating gives him time to ponder his response. "We'll exchange numbers, and arrange for a time to meet up, for both training and meeting this friend of yours. Should I bring a friend as well?"
"I don't know if I'll be able to get Ibuki at the same time as I am available, she's quite hard to find herself. But I will try to arrange a time where you get to meet her as well." Cammy promises. "You will like her, I'm sure of it. Phone numbers are bad, but I have email you can use. I will check it often enough."
She watches serenely while he eats, and if she notices his evasiveness, she doesn't make a point of it. He just doesn't know her very well yet, she thinks. "A friend?" she asks, suddenly all suspicious. "Who would that be?" she asks with a frown. "Maybe." she relents, though she's clearly not very happy about the idea. She wants to meet Quon, not Quon's buddies after all, and inviting Ibuki is all for his benefit. "It depends on who it is. And if they are of interest to Lord Vega."
"Email. That works." He rises from his seated position on the floor and grabs a piece of scrap paper tearing it in half and then writes his email on one half before handing it off to her and then hands the other half and the pen for her to write hers down.
Quon then sits back down. "I was just going to ask a friend that I trained with when I was younger if he wanted to come with us. I didn't want anyone to feel like a third wheel or anything like that. But if you're not comfortable with that, it could be just us three."
Cammy writes out an anonymous looking address for Quon on the piece of paper. "Well. If you prefer having one other." she says, with a shrug as she reaches out to hand him the paper back. "I just think that if you had your friend there as well, given you do not know me very well and seem tense when near me, that you would just talk to your friend and make me the outsider. Ibuki I know would not do that, at least. But if you insist, very well, just to make you feel better.".
She sighs, the sacrifices she makes! While envisaging 2 on 1 beatdowns, Quon hi-fi'ing over her fallen body with his friend, and all sorts of things she really does not have planned. And while thinking of these glum thoughts, she munches the last of her cheesecake, thinking that aside from this potential future which she must avert somehow this little encounter has all gone exactly as she planned! That cheers her up no end, and by the time she's finished her cheesecake the Killer Bee's expression has lightened considerably.
"Nah. No need. It's not important that he comes with us. Let's see how goes with the three of us before we start adding people to the mix." What will be important is that he's letting said friend and his room mate know where he plans on meeting them. If only for safety measures.
Quon goes to look at his plate before finishing off his cheesecake. To be honest though it's probably for the best. He doesn't need the nightmarish scenario of Vega giving the father's 'Don't Mistreat My Little Girl' speech. He could only imagine how terrifying that would be and he's pretty sure his wildest imaginings pale in comparison to how terrifying it would actually be.
Cammy nods. "OK. I'll nag Ibuki.". She nudges her empty plate away, and then stands up, in one swift, fluid motion, before reaching down to grab her cloak. While wrapping it around herself, she asks, "You aren't going to have any trouble letting me out with the guard downstairs, are you?" curiously. "I suppose it might be better if he knows me anyway, as then I could get back in easier, if ever I want to.".
Poor Quon, he's not getting away any time soon, oh no.
Now she's properly cloaked, she grabs her bag, slings it over her shoulder. "You don't mind me leaving the plates here?" she wonders. "We should train soon." she decides. "You won't be so tense then. Email me.".
