Pullum - Camp Ikari

Description: A call for help is responded to by the Fearless Ikari! What is so urgent!? A girl need to learn how to fight - like not a girl! Truly, the Ikari has a lot in his hands! The stone wall of the Ikari, however, is very talented indeed.

The Ikari Warriors are a mercenary troup that often attempt to help for the greater good and making some money on the side. Of course if you have some odd requests and have the money to back it up they will take those missions as well even if they are a bit absurd and harmless. Of course when you make some requests you don't get the cream of the crop. Instead someone of the lower ranks is sent. It isn't exactly a grunt, but they aren't exactly a well known name.

And that is why Faolan is finding himself being sent to Turkey. Heidern had gotten a request and it was one that interested him enough to send someone at least of the Irishman's caliber. He wipes his forehead as he heads for the designated meeting place. All he knows is he is supposed to meet some girl named Pullum and that is about it. Heidern really didn't give him any info beyond 'Show her the Ikari way'. "This region just isn't for a man of my blood." he mumbles. Though he has to admit he loves Turkish coffee. Nothing wakes a man up properly more than that after a all night long binge of drinking.

Turkey, as it was, was nearby her homecity - not too far, but certainly a bit different from her mostly desert land home land. It's far more lush and varied than sand dunes and camels - not that there was anything bad with such, just far different.

Though she had done well in various attempts, Pullum wasn't sure, honestly, where that still put her. With her family at stake, it was best to spend some of her precious dear father's money - not that they were close to running out.

Income still came in, even after his fate befell him.

Showing up at the spot - or rather, already meeting at the spot ( in case it was a trap! ) Pullum kicks off from a building, having rested atop one of the nearby roofs, however low it was. You couldn't ever be too safe - just look at dad! "Are you who they sent?" She asks, vaguely. "I'm quite interested in meeting a member of the Ikari." And not so vaguely. "I've heard a bit of their capabilities!" At least - who doesn't know of the President's rescuees and their group!

It is people like Ralf and Clark that put the Ikari on the map on top of other things. Of course there are far many more heroes out of the group these days that have made names for themselves. Faolan hopes to be one of those people eventually. He still has alot of work to do in this case, but practice and training leads to perfection. While he is still relatively new by Ikari standards he has proved himself to where he can handle missions like this without backup.

He tilts his cap up when he hears the voice and the mercenary looks over while raising a brow. Now he certainly didn't expect this to be his contact. "I suppose I am if yer name is Pullum." he replies and gets to his feet while pushing his seat back and idly leaning on his bata as he looks over the girl as if sizing her up. "Heidern said you had a request and felt like he should at least send someone." he comments and grins a bit slyly. "So what can I do to help ye?"

An Ikari is definetly what Pullum needs in her quest for competance - why, even the newest of Ikari's certainly have something to offer! After all, the Warriors don't simply recruit members because they have to, or dont bother testing to see if the soldiers have the mettle to truly shine through in times of adversity.

Pullum only heard that they were really, really, good at what they do.

"That's my name. Pullum Purna." She nods, her clothing a bit more covreing than usual - her stomach isn't even showing today! "I've made a request of them, that's right. I need someone to train, or at least test me." She openly admits, eyes focused - as well as her stance, usually relaxed by nature.

Her hands link behind her, as she goes on. "I have met a bit of success in combat so far, but I'm still new. I'm sure you've had much experience though, in it!" She praises, looking a bit more lively. "I eventually have to face the people who did such a thing to dad... and I want to be ready." And back to determined.

The mercenary squints a bit and he wonders why he was sent when someone else of lower rank would have done just as well. Still, if Heidern gave him the orders it must be somewhat important. He has to wonder just why this girl is so in need of training. "So I am getting paid to fight you...." Well, he can't really argue with that. He never is against a good fight to help better himself as well. He just wishes he was told such a thing so he was more prepared for this encounter. Some sort of file or the like of the woman's capabilities so he would know to pull punches or not.

Looks like there is no reason for him to worry about that now. Perhaps she is stronger than he has been led on to be. He idly hefts up his bata and lets it rest across his shoulder a moment. "So should we do this here or what?" he asks while looking around the mostly empty area. "Eh, why not..." he replies to himself and he holds his bata out in front of him with both hands resting on the bata. "I guess you can go ahead and come at me, then."

Having been so new - it's likely that Faolan might be the one gathering the information himself! But as he lifts his bata up, resting it carefully, Pullum watches as he pulls back prepares to fight. Straight to the point!

At least he's not trying to stretch out the hourly charge!

"That is exactly what it is -" As he falls back, holding out his bata and readying himself, Pullum smirks. "And this will be an acceptable place - as long as no one interferes!" She really doesn't want to harm anyone in the crossfire - but it's exciting. It wasn't to begin with, but she began to enjoy it. She twists backwards, her legs whipping around as she leaps back first.

As she lands, her legs bend, rather low, before she erupts towards Faolan, one leg held out as she stops infront of Faolan, the leg whipping around in sort of a Ryu style - but her movements have been more like a dance than any martial arts!

COMBATSYS: Pullum has joined the fight here.

Hourly charge? If that is the case it better be a hefty price because this sort of stuff rarely takes that long. Pullum may have just been lulled into thinking it would be such a thing when it is instead a large lump sum. One that Faolan better see part of on his next payout since he is having to be out in this humid and hot place. He really needs to look more into jobs where it is more cool so he can at least enjoy his job. Oh well, the life of a mercenary. He seems to narryow his gaze a bit when the woman comes in and he starts to raise his stick to block that strike, but instead he soon feels boots hit him below where he thought the blow would land and it causes him to stagger back a bit.

With a grunt he resteadies himself and he gives a nod. "Not too bad." he admits and he grins slightly. Maybe this girl might just be a bit of fun and she isn't some pampered nancy that doesn't know how to fight. Instead she is probably just a pampered nancy in general. He steaps forward though to at first look like he is going to strike with one end of his bata, but instead it roars with black energy that crackles along the entire length of the bata as he instead brings the other end around to slam it into the chest of the other fighter.

COMBATSYS: Faolan successfully hits Pullum with Saying Hello.

The strike is solid - but it's far more solid than Pullum expected! His rush forwards, shortly after her own movement backwards, leads into a rather interesting situation - for Pullum, not for Faolan. She twirls backwards, attempting to keep pace - and flips.

The stride to slam into her chest instead slams into her back, midway through the movement. The woman tumbles against the ground, flopping to it finally - before pushing herself off, shaking herself off in turn. "And you're not bad yourself. Exactly what I needed." More so, perhaps, than she expected!

The strike, however powerful, still doesn't disable her - and Pullum bounds forwards, however slower now that she has more distance to cross. A hop forwards, a spinning leap after and a far backwards lean - they all lead up into a rather highly telegraphed palm strike!

COMBATSYS: Faolan interrupts Strong Punch from Pullum with One for the Road.

Pullum           0/-------/-======|=====--\-------\0           Faolan

She seems to be a quick and plucky one. Faolan always seems to have the lock of rnning into these types. Maybe it is Heidern's way of telling the Irishman that he needs to start moving more and not standing there like some sort of wall. He is a stubborn man, though. Faolan just rather let his opponent come at him and expend their energy instead of wasting extra energy to go chasing the person around all over the place. It just makes it harder to anticipate their attacks and defend against them properly.

Right now is a good example of why he still doesn't listen to the boss so much on some things. All the movements are distracting to a point, but alot of it is for show that is used more for deception than anything. Of course this sort of thing is draining more energy from the girl by his guess. He just grins for now and while stepping forward he once again slams his bata into Pullum while feeling her palm slam against his larger body. He tries to use his momentum to lift Pullum upwards while his bata is still pushed against her and again a blast of chi erupts from the bata to knock the other fighter away.

In a surprising twist, despite the slowish nature of the strike - Faolan actually strikes /back/. Something the dancer wasn't exactly expecting. Much of the combat that she had been a part of left out /that/ particularly instance.

But all of the painful glory comes to her in a much needed lesson.

The bata slams into her as she strikes him, lifting her up and knocking her away - not only from the strike, but the energy behind it. Tossed into the air like some sort of petal, Pullum's fall is not quite graceful. Her landing a little more so, as she manages to land on her feet this time.

It's quite more painful than it looks, honestly. She hadn't been this pained from much of the fights. "It's really getting my money worth." She comments, with somewhat of a smile still - and prances towards Faolan again, skipping three times and flipping over him.

Not quite over, actually.

She lands a bit short, 'on' him, legs linking around his neck to pull it downwards, before she slides around him, twisting to the side that begins to totter more, making the teetering closer to 'falling flat on his face', as she pulls him to the ground.

COMBATSYS: Faolan just-defends Pullum's Neck Factor!

Pullum           0/-------/-======|====---\-------\0           Faolan

The mercenary just grins some and he tips his hat for a quick moment in response to the compliment before letting both hands come to rest on his bata gain. "I figured I best give it my all so you don't feel like you wasted your money." he replies and he takes a deep breath while waiting to see what she just might do next. Those eyes keep track of her quick movements and when Pullum comes towards him he seems more than ready for whatever she has to offer. And while she manages to get her legs linked around him like she hoped she finds it rather hard to do anything to move the larger fighter at the moment.

He at least manages to avoid making a crude comment. Instead he is just trying to get a hand raised so he can grip the woman and yank her off and away from him. He figures right now making something lewd to his employer would not do well to make the company look good. Instead he just tries to toss her away from him again.

COMBATSYS: Pullum effortlessly blocks Faolan's Quick Throw.

Pullum           0/-------/=======|====---\-------\0           Faolan

The assault she so carefully puts together falters just as she gets her legs on Faolan - as he doesn't move. She tugs, but nothing really gives. At all. It's more than a slight bother. Especially when you throw your weight into it.

A confused chirp is cut short as Faolan grips her, yanking her off and tossing her away - but it doesn't /really/ work the way he wants it to. A reversal of a reversal, if you will. She twists, body taking the landing a bit better, hands touching down before she rolls back, towards him, bounding upwards, a rising strike of palms upwards, followed by another twist - and feet afterwards.

She's a pretty quick one, if nothing else.

"That's only fair, and I don't intend to hold back either - not that I have been." It's just been a little rocky.

COMBATSYS: Faolan endures Pullum's Arakul Wrist.

Pullum           0/-------/=======|======-\-------\0           Faolan

Quite a slippery one too. She is definantly built for speed and bounding about. The way she handles being thrown proves that she can think quick too and reduce the damage taken from being tossed about to a minimum. Quite an interesting matchup for him it would seem. He just grins as he resumes his defensive stance as he waits for he to come back in for another attack. This time he steps forward and instead of blocking whatever strike was to be aimed his way he just steps right into those palm thrusts with a grunt just to see how powerful her hits can be.

"Not sure what your plans are, but you hit better than some of the guys I train with." he tells her with a chuckle as he goes to slam his bata into the woman's stomach before swinging about quickly and twirling on a foot in a rare moment of him showing his agility as he attempts to follow up that first strike with another one to the small of Pullum's back. "Hup..hah!"

COMBATSYS: Faolan successfully hits Pullum with Windmill.

Pullum           1/-----==/=======|=======\-------\1           Faolan

As strong as Pullum is - she isn't supposed to be the one getting struck over and over! At least, that's the plan to her. Perhaps Faolan has another plan. His which involves taking the strike in stride - and then slamming his beta straight into her chest, a foot spinning around to crash against her back.

Unlike her previous endeavors, it ends with her crashing to the ground, flopping, unfortunately, to the floor. It hurts - and it's more pain than she felt for quite a while - the last was just on the border. Struck so solidly in the back and front, it's almost like a fire is spreading.

"Ah... I really needed this practice...." She gets out, a little less okay with it suddenly. Shaking herself off - despite the pain still there, stinging, Pullum's eyes focus on Faolan - she still /has/ a chance. She just needs to reach it.

"Alright...!" She flips forwards, fast - faster than she had before, before leaping right above Faolan - and both hands point fownwards, a spherical mass suddenly sprouting before her - and then crashing groundwards. A ball of energy menacing its way down towards Faolan, glowing brightly!

COMBATSYS: Faolan blocks Pullum's Gradousu Ball.

Pullum           0/-------/-----==|=======\=------\1           Faolan

He has been a rather plucky guy this fight. Though it might be because he was given a solo mission and he wants good feedback. He certainly isn't going to get that if he crumples in half or takes it easy on his employer. This woman wants training so dammit he is going to give it to her. "Are you not too used to a defensive fighter?" he asks as he won't get a reply from the looks of it because Pullum looks to have other plans. She seems to be summoning up energy that she soon releases and sends right for the Ikari Warrior.

Faolan frowns and it comes sailing in rather quickly at him. All he can do is hold his bata forward and he filters his own energy into it to try and reduce the power of the blast as it slams forward and pushes him back a few steps. He staggers back and manages not to be pushed back too far. He tries to shake things off as he grins and gives a nod. "Not bad. We got alot of work to do with you it seems, though."

COMBATSYS: Faolan focuses on his next action.

Pullum           0/-------/-----==|=======\=------\1           Faolan

As fast as it was, it seems it wasn't fast /enough/!

The ball crashes against his guard like water against rocks, and Pullum's failure leaves her falling to the ground without any bowled over Faolan to show for it! but it's not over - and he's quite right. "I've only met quite a bit like myself - I haven't fought anyone capable of taking the blows regularly!" And it's true - he's taking them, somewhat regularly. That's got to stop!

"I expected there would be a need for it - because I've only just begun. I'm not sure how tough Shadaloo might be, but I'm sure it will be!" Tough, that is. As Faolan hangs back - Pullum leaps forwards, once again. Her arms shoot out, grasping towards Faolan as he hangs back, a twisting motion to yank him into a 'dance' as it were.

She's running out of energy, and it shows. The yank twists him towards her, and another yank, something like whiplash, as she returns him, as styled as she could get.

COMBATSYS: Faolan interrupts Medium Throw from Pullum with Hair of the Dog.

Pullum           0/-------/-======|=------\-------\0           Faolan

Shadaloo? That names rings a bell, but all Faolan knows is that group is bad business since they are considered high risk whenever a mission involving them is brought up through the company. This girl is really going against them? He has to wonder what the connection between her and the group may be. "Don't mean to sound like an arse about it, but I think you want to leave them alone. Those people are bad news." he comments before he finds himself soon being grabbed at by Pullum.

He steps forward again and he drives his shoulder into Pullum to throw her off balance. HIs bata quickly becomes a flurry of strikes aimed to slam against each of the woman's limbs before he gives one final thrust that is aimed lower than normal than he would just so not to slap the woman in the boob. It is the least he could do since the final strike is a powerful strike that releases a powerful blast of energy once again. "I am not even involved in most missions that may involve that organization." He says while taking a few deep breaths and taking back up his defensive stance.

As Pullum moves towards Faolan - the worst thing he could do is suggest, of all things, to 'stay away from them'. "That's not going to happen!" She exclaims, before the strike - but Faolan manages to strike out, slamming against her first, before a flurry of strikes slam against her limbs. Her 'dance' becomes anything but. Shortly after, she crashes backwards - limbs numb, and her body somewhat sizzling from the energy discharge.

It's not entirely easy to force someone so defensive to be offensive, she has learned. But she doesn't strike out. "...Gh.. I guess I do need more practice." That much, though, is obvious.

She manages to sit up, but her limbs are sore - and she was using them pretty hefty /during/ the battle. It's not a recipe for success. "I don't have a choice though... I need to get stronger faster... so I can fix him." She's not so carefree anymore - staring out at really nothing. "I owe him at least that much."

COMBATSYS: Pullum takes no action.

[              \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\  <

COMBATSYS: Pullum can no longer fight.

[              \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\  <
Faolan           0/-------/------=|

Seems like this girl has quite a bit of beef with the group. He has to wonder what it is really all about. Then again as much as he wants to ask that isn't part of his mission at the moment. "I can just tell you that you got a long way to go." He is rather blunt about it. It isn't like his usual carefree nature he usually has. If she is going to try and do something at her current amount of training she isn't going to last long. The damn woman might just get herself killed.

He eases up on his stance and he steps forward. He offers to help Pullum back to her feet. "None of my business of course. Do what you got to. Just won't feel good about myself if I go and let one of our employers get herself killed." he comments as he gives a bit of a forced laugh to make things seem less grave. He was never good at this sort of stuff at all. "I am here for at least two days so if I can help in some form or fashion let me know."

COMBATSYS: Faolan has ended the fight here.

A long way to go - but she just began. It's a reasonable suggestion.

"Even if it's a long way to go - I can't just stop because I'm not good at it now!" As pampered as she might be - it doesn't seem like the fire of the woman was anything but tempered by the failure. Of course, she doesn't want to wait ... /too/ long.

Every day is another day her dad sleeps.

It's really quite sad. "I will do what I have to - and I'll remember that." She notes, having been defeated, rather soundly, by a style she simply didn't expect. Her body is sore, and her limbs just begin to regain some feeling from the rather severe beating he dished out.

But she can't just give up, right? "I'll contact you... if I have anything else to ask, or say. Right now I am .. a bit tired." And sore. definitely sore.

She has spirit, that is for sure. That sort of thing is useful to have, but it takes more than that to get by in this sort of world. Perhaps the link to Shadaloo is why the Ikari even accepted this job. Not like he found out much about what is going on so his report is probably not going to be as insightful as the higher ups might hope. Faolan just nods some in response and he tips his cap. "Get better. That is most important." he tells her as he turns about to start to wander away and leave her be. He is feeling a bit sore himself so maybe he will find a place to rest for the night and take in some of the local food and drink. If Pullum wants more training or perhaps some advice he will be sure to relay the information to her once he finds a place to settle in the next few days.
