Pullum - Of Cats and Cammies

Description: A rather suspicious releasing of kittens to the safety of the wild by Cammy is not unseen, and while some words are exchanged between the two warriors, Pullum finds Cammy to be somewhat contradictory and confusing - but doesn't quite get why! At least the cat is safe!

Cammy is on assignment in Metro City today, the latest in a list of minor things Doll Zero has to sort out in her busy schedule. A couple of days ago it was communicating Lord Vega's wishes to the Russian Mafia in Moscow. Today it's more mundane than that, merely scouting around Metro City for famous fighters who may be competing in the upcoming tournament. And to that end the red cloaked, "disguised" Cammy is roaming Metro City with her eyes peeled.

There is also another, more personal, secretive mission today for the Shadaloo assassin, however - getting rid of the cat she brought into the base. Various vague threats from the various nasty types in that base has meant that Cammy has sadly decided that she better get rid of the cat before anybody else does. So she is carrying a wicker basket with her, wrapped with cloth, the unfortunate feline hidden therein. At least it's not a plastic bag so the unfortunate feline can breathe, Cammy worked that out at least.

Unlike any assignments, Pullum is on her own today. She walks through Metro City, unaware of the culture, having just fought in one of their 'dance establishments' the day before.

She didn't even know they had those.

Somewhat skipping through the park, Pullum isn't really used to the ... colder weather. It's like a refridgerator, though she doesn't admit it's her own fault. Silk and skin in Metro city? Clearly a mistake. Pullum's movement into the park isn't a mistake. It's a nice place, if nothing else. However, there is a surprising sight. A woman with a wicker basket.

Perhaps not sure, the arabian stops, somewhat staring at the wicker whisker basket, and the person carrying it.

A wicker basket, with a cloth that moves, no less. Cammy places a gentle but restraining hand on the cloth, so the struggling cat within stays put. Cats are quite hard to keep in one place when they don't want to be, but being a Doll even a cat isn't really faster than her. And besides... the cat is quite fat, not that it's visible at the moment.

Cammy has a destination in mind, as this is where the cat was when she grabbed it in the first place - at one edge of the park in Metro City. Plenty of other strays around here. Not wanting to be seen by other Shadaloo operatives who are in the area and maybe wondering what the supposedly emotionless clone Doll Zero is up to, she slinks off to an area with a few more trees and bushes than normal, and finds a shady spot off the main pathways.

It ... moves? Pullum glances more at the woman that actually stops something from moving inside the basket! It's not what you see every day, and especially not in strange towns you've never seen before. The moving basket was odd enough, but that's crazy! Pullum can't even see what's inside. As she begins to move, Pullum follows her.

Well, it's never quite a bad thing to see what others are up to!

Peering from behind a tree, Pullum's ponytail'd head sticks out pretty apparently - there's nothing really to hide behind in the desert, so she isn't used to the whole concept - well, she's never had to really hide, either. Rich and all.

Cammy tugs off the cloth from the top of the basket, and a fat ginger tom promptly jumps out of the basket onto the frosty grass of the park. Cammy's blank face momentarily shifts into a smile, and then she stands up, to walk away - and then promptly spots the none too subtle Pullum, behind a tree. Clearly Pullum is not a ninja.

Cammy promptly assumes the 'guilty as hell' look, as after all Pullum must be up to no good to be there in the first place right? Maybe she's even Shadaloo herself. After a good ten seconds of 'guilty as hell', mouth hanging open throughout, Cammy blushes red, glancing around the place for an escape route. And then tries to nonchalantly wander off, as if she was meant to be here all along.

The cat doesn't like the cold, and decides to follow along.

Oh no, Pullum isn't Shadaloo at all. She's searching for Shadaloo, to cure her dad. Since they made him a /vegetable/.

Not that she knows about Cammy.

As Cammy smiles - and then blushes, guilty, before moving away, Pullum puts two and two together. "Oh, if you wanted to play with your cat in peace, I'm sorry for interrupting." He is a fat one. "I didn't know you carry cats in baskets, here." Which isn't really true, but perhaps it is moreso than she thinks?

The tabby moves. "Or are you walking him, or releasing him. if you're releasing him, it's really c-cold." Oh, she knows. She knows.

Cammy relaxes a bit when Pullum talks, as it isn't talk that implies Cammy is busted - far too friendly. And besides, as Cammy peers at her, she realises she hasn't got the faintest clue who she is. Not that she knows everybody in Shadaloo of course but Pullum doesn't exactly look the type.

"Well... no. I have to release him." she says, deadpan, yet somehow still managing to seem a little sad. Perhaps it's the eyes. She glances down at the cat, who is now nudging at one foot, brushing the cloak aside to nuzzle at a blue combat boot. Cammy crouches down wordlessly and tries to nudge the kitty away.

Especially not with silk and Arabian clothes, unless one of the dolls happens to have a taste in something international. As Cammy claims she has to 'release him', Pullum is even more confused. "Why? You don't seem to want to, but the cat really doesn't seem to want to-" But as Pullum glances at the nuzzling cat...

Combat boots?

"Why exactly can't you have the cat. Did you find it and don't have anywhere to put it? Or something else?" It's strange to see combat boots, but maybe she's just a soldier or a cop in the Metro Police division under internationally famous Mike Hagger?

Maybe she just likes combat boots! Though as Cammy looks like a particularly thin and reedy looking teenager with the muscly bits hidden under the cloak, perhaps not. Cammy gives up trying to push the cat away and trots off at a (very) fast walk, half a dozen paces say. The cat kinda half heartedly moves after her, but it's fat and cold and besides, the cat has played the chasing game before and knows it'll lose. So it just miaows it's displeasure at the cold.

"Well.". Cammy wonders how to explain, and in the end shrugs. "I can't have the cat. It might get hurt. I don't really live in a place very well suited for a cat.". She thinks for a moment, and eventually says, "Too small.", totally deadpan. A good lie. "Never mind.".

"But has he been outside before?" Pullum retorts, watching the cat move after her and then just sit there, fat and loud, like all cats eventually succumb to being. "If he's not used to the cold, he'll just die." Alas, poor cat.

She feels for your cold-hatred.

".. A small place for a cat that large might be bad though, maybe you can give it away to someone else you know?" It's the best that she can go for - although she isn't even beginning to think of taking it back. She really doesn't need a cat around at home, if only because there is a surprising amount of animals back in the city.

"Well, I got him from here." Cammy explains. "I am sure he will be fine.". The cat does his best to look cold and piteable meanwhile, sensing indecision! "Though, giving it away, I suppose.". She wrinkles her brow, thinking of who she knows who might look after cats. Master Vega would no doubt try and turn it into some sort of superweapon. And compared all the others, Master Vega is probably the #1 choice if the cats welfare is being considered here.

After some long deliberation, she shrugs. "I can't really think of anybody who might want a cat. Thats really why I'm returning him. Why? You want to look after him?" she asks, hopefully.

Pullum's gaze is back to the cat. If she was an animal lover, maybe she would have taken a bit more interest in this poor pitiable creature that now acts doubly so. "No, no I don't think I could care for the cat in all of my travels." She claims, though makes no apparent apology.

Pullum only follows about as far as the cat, but Cammy does reveal its home is right in this park. "So you're saying this is really his home, and you're returning him? I wasn't aware cats live in parks. But there seems to be alot of people." So, of course, it'll get fed, eventually.

"Maybe this is best for him." He'll be stronger, right?

"Well, he was here when I picked him up." Cammy clarifies. "I'm not sure where he actually slept.". She looks around the copse of trees, and frowns, pondering. "I suppose he probably didn't actually sleep out here. The weather is bad for cats I suppose, though who knows. He has fur.". She didn't really think too much about it to be honest, she saw it, she liked it, she picked it up, she took it home!

"So why are you here?" she asks. "You just happened to be walking by?" she wonders, checking her basket for a moment. Empty aside from cat hair, she draws the cloth over it. So it looks a bit like a picnic basket now, which was the plan. The frosty park doesn't look all that picnicable right now admittedly.

"That doesn't seem very fair to the cat, but it seems to have been happy, at least." Pullum dismisses it, now, deciding the cat was absolutely okay with its predicament. Just walking by?

"Yes, I am experiencing Metro city's culture before I leave back to my own country, after Saturday Night Fight." It's a valid reason - and poor Sakura, still. That hit didn't look good at all. Especially the speaker to the face.

"That's all there is to it, but it was nice to see another part of the world. The weather i could do without." She smiles, rubbing her arms slightly. Perhaps she will carry around a coat she will buy here before she leaves. Yes, that is what she will do.

Cammy ahas, and blinks, suddenly perking up. The unfortunate cat is forgotten, more important things are afoot! "Saturday Night Fight?" she asks. "Are you a participant, or a fan?" she wonders. "There seem to be no shortage of either it seems.". She gives Pullum The Eye. She doesn't exactly look like Zangief but not every fighter does, after all. She should know!

"What is your name?" she asks, all curious now. "Perhaps we can walk a short distance together, until we're out of the park and we part ways.". She indicates the route to the path with one hand, making sure just the tips of her fingers stick out of the cloak to conceal the padded gauntlets.

"A participant." Pullum exclaims, "I've had quite good luck with fights so far, though I have no been fighting too long seriously." Well, she never expected to become a fighter - dancing was for fun, and under normal circumstances, she would not have ever concerned herself with learning how to better bash someone's skull in.

"Of course... and my name is Pullum Purna. I only started fighting after my father fell ill, but I have an idea what might have caused it. A group," She pauses, walking with Cammy.

"Shadaloo. I don't know much about them - but I have heard much speculation."

"A new fighter, I see. Well, every great fighter was a new fighter at one point. Even Ryu began as a complete outsider originally." Cammy observes, falling into step alongside Pullum. "Your father?" Cammy asks. For some reason the words 'But for me, it was Tuesday' go through her mind. "Possibly. Shadaloo is involved in all sorts of things involving death and pain.". The Killer Bee knows about that more than most.

She gives Pullum a slightly warning look. "You would probably do best to leave Shadaloo well alone, if you have any ideas in your head about them.".

While walking, Pullum listens. Those words - it's more than she got out of anyone else. But she never asked anyone directly in the fighting scene. Perhaps they are big into combat? "I understand what it might mean - but I'm not going to be alone, anyways." She states. She has two allies - clearly, that is enough.

The warning look is different, though. "But I can't! My father... he can still be cured, so there's no doubt for me what I have to do." After all the years he took care of her - it's only right!

"Oh? He's still alive but dying? Unusual." Cammy says, mulling that one over. "Well, you are in a difficult position. I would do anything for my father." she states, peering over at Pullum with narrowed blue eyes. Maybe her 'father' will be interested in this Pullum after all. "So I can understand you being well motivated.".

"But if you are searching for cures, I would not search for them from Shadaloo. You will find only defeat and misery there. And you not being alone will make no difference.". Cammy has the utmost faith in her master, and it's not undeserved - he's still around, after all, still taking over the world bit by bit.

"They're the only lead I have, and I already know it's dangerous-" Pullum turns to look at Cammy. Not only does she claim she'll do anything for her father, and that her motivation is well, but she then goes to on to say it's way too dangerous and that she should just give up.

It just doesn't sit right with her.

"But I can't give up just because you say it's dangerous! You said yourself, you would do anything - so it shouldn't be hard to understand." But apparently, she does have trouble understanding. "It's been a pleasure talking with you but..." Well, that's mostly a lie, and Pullum knows it. It was mostly fine, but it certainly doesn't sit well now, with her.

t Maybe she just had a few run ins with them?

"No, I understand. Hence why you are in a difficult position. You have my sympathies.". Said in her flat Doll voice, it's hard to tell if Cammy really has sympathies or not. Maybe for cats, if her earlier performance actually truly meant anything to her. It's a start? "I do not know what I would do in your position. Die, I suppose. I would be sad.". Cheerful, she is.

"Maybe you could find a good hospital for him." she shrugs, turning to face Pullum. "And then maybe you wouldn't need to die. Must be hard to make such difficult decisions. Good luck.". The Doll smiles a thin smile at Pullum. "It has been a pleasure talking to you, too.".
