ElFuerte - The Superior Wrestling Style

Description: Two wrestlers from greatly different styles clash at the main event at a wrestling show taking place. The veteran Hugo is matched up against the relative newcomer El Fuerte for the classic speed versus strength. Both men duke it out for glory and the ultimate prize of gaining the respect of their opponent. (Epic: Hugo has too much damn tenacity to stay the hell down no matter what.)

The crowd is already rumbling. Two hours into tonight's production, and all the midcard events have already run through. Off to the side of the ring, one of many steel chairs used over the course of the night sits discarded, bent out of shape by an unfortunate participant's skull. People in the front row are smacking their hands against the wooden barrier that prevents them from getting any closer to ringside, already anticipating the advertised main event. People are still coming in from intermission as the lights dim, and spotlights turn to focus on the entrance ramp.

"Ladies and gentlemen, it's now time... for the /main event/ of the evening.." Predictably, the cheering increases in volume as the announcer allowed a momentary dramatic pause. "Introducing first. Returning from a long sabbatical from the ring. At over seven feet tall, weighing in well past 300 pounds..."

Backstage, Hugo is stalking towards the curtain. Admittedly, he feels a bit out of place; he doesn't usually head to the ring without Poison somewhere nearby, but it was harder than he would have figured to get in touch with her with the short notice of the bout's being scheduled. So, the dark-haired giant approaches the curtain, brushing it aside after hearing the height and weight announcement. The spotlights focus on him, and it takes a moment to fight off the urge to cover his eyes before he starts to lumber down the rampway towards the squared circle.

"HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-GOOOOooooooooo!"

An amazing night it has been to watch so far. Even the early matches have shown some very promising fighters that have bright futures ahead of them. Perhaps even one day they too may get to challenge El Fuerte to a match. Instead the luchador finds a very large mountain to climb. He may be making a legend with his own name now, but he is facing a man that is already had a reputation for quite a few years. It is a dream match for the younger wrestler and he will not let this be a wasted chance to show what he can do. It is speed verses strength and perhaps even some that do not know of El Fuerte would call tihs a one sided affair.

He takes a few deep breathes as he hops from foot to foot as he awaits to be called out. "And his opponent tonight. Standing at five and a half feet tall and at one hundred and fifty-four pounds. He is the Hurricane of the Gulf! EEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLL FUERTE!" The fans are loud, but not near as loud as they were for Hugo, but still the Luchador eats it up as he bursts through the curtains with a forward leap and he goes into several flips before making one giant one that puts him up over the ropes to where he can land square in the ring. "Prepare for ultimate flavor! For I am the spicey side of wrestling!" he declares as he stands tall and points a finger in the air.

If he has fear of the much larger man he manages to to hide it well. He of course having to look waaaaaay up to meet the gaze of the monster of a man that is Hugo. "A tough slab of meat I see. I will just have to use plenty of tenderizer!" The finger raised in the air lowers enough to where he is pointing at Hugo when he makes his declaration. It would seem he is confident at least. How long that keeps up remains to be seen.

By the time El Fuerte begins flipping his way down towards the ring, Hugo's already climbed his way in, one leg at a time over the ring ropes before slowly pacing his way towards the middle. He's not familiar with the luchador, but he'll at least give the common courtesy of watching his opponent's entrance. A few long, lumbering backwards steps are taken to allow room for that final leap, and one hand reaches back, giving the rope a tentative push to make sure it's been pulled tight.

But then the little Mexican addresses him personally, and Hugo slaps those giant hands together, rubbing them together a few times as the cooking-centric speech is given. Only a deep, rumbling chuckle passes the giant's lips before he settles into his normal stance: hands out at his sides, down low with palms down, arms slowly hovering as if he's already expecting the collar and elbow tie-up. "We begin."

Right on cue, despite not being able to hear Hugo's muttering, the timekeeper lifts his tiny hammer. *ding ding ding!*

Zangief arrives from elsewhere.

So it appears that Hugo is expecting a bit more of a traditional start to the match. It would seem he really might not have experience with the lucha libre style. He is not too surprised. He cannot think of too many luchadors that would get into the ring with a man that has arms about the size of a regular person. That is why the bigger man might be in for a surprise that when the bell rings that he doesn't get what he expects. Instead there a large grin that forms on El Fuerte's face as he jumps back and lands against the ropes before propelling himself forward.

He gets the angle to where he actually can flip and get additional momentum to take him over the beast of a man and land on the top rope. It allows him to slingshot off that rope and he goes to grap the massive wrestler around the neck. It was alot of extra work, but in the end all he is trying to do is land a massive bulldog that would plant Hugo's face right in the mat if he is successful. "Ole!"

Hm. It was true that the massive German didn't have much in the way of experience when it comes to fighting luchadors. In fact, Haggar is almost a perfect polar opposite to the lucha libre style, and that's closer to what he was expecting. The withdrawl of El Fuerte caught Hugo as a bit of a surprise, and he certainly didn't expect him to use the ropes as a propulsion device. That moment of confusion is enough to allow Fuerte to get an arm about his neck, and down, dooooooown Hugo goes, toppling face-first with a loud >thud< as he's planted into the canvas.

He's back to his feet quick enough, though, face red with a mix of annoyance, embarassment, and.. well, being shoved into a wrestling ring. Faster this time, he claps his hands together before leaning forward, pushing hard off booted feet as he starts to barrel straight towards the luchador. Once he's built up a bit of momentum, his right foot comes off the ground, surging forward in an attempt to slow El Fuerte down by planting his boot straight into his opponent's face. "HRAAAAGH!"

Great success! So he can manage to get enough momentum to bring the big guy down. That was one of the key worries that El Fuerte had in dealing with someone the size of Hugo. He isn't going to be able to lift the man any other way he figures. He is going to have to rely on his speed more so than normal. That is all the more evident when he realizes he made the larger wrestler very angry and a boot that is bigger than Fuerte's head is coming right at him.

He is quick to duck low into a crouch to where the kick sails over his head, but then he fires upwards and takes that leg in his arms to carry himself upward and pull that leg with him. He tries to twist about and use his momentum once again. This time it is to swing the larger wrestler about and toss him towards one of the corners of the ring while moving to land on top of the opposite corner's top turnbuckle.

The ring rust is starting to show already, and it's resulting in a bit of frustration starting to make its way into Hugo's expression. His brow furrows as the high kick goes sailing wide, which leaves him rather unfortunately open for a painful rebuttal. With little choice in his next direction, he staggers where Fuerte sends him, flying until he slams into the turnbuckle of choice. It's there that he remains for a moment before hands come up to brace against the ropes, and the German pushes himself back up to a standing position.

So, the Mexican wants to play with the turnbuckles, does he? Then the turnbuckles may see a bit more work in the near future. Hugo comes surging out of the corner once again, growling under his breath as he works to close the distance. Once he's within range, he makes an attempt to clasp a meaty hand across El Fuerte's face. Should he get a good hold, he'll wheel right around, turning 180 degrees with the luchador held out in front of him before rushing the turnbuckle all the way across the ring, only releasing a moment before his arms go wide with the aim to crush his opponent between turnbuckle and massive wall of meat.

The crowd is actually a bit unsure of what to make of it, but there are starting to be dueling chants of 'Lets go Hugo!' and 'Lets go El Fuerte!' among the more active fans. "You are large big man, but I will show you my size not something to judge me by!" He crouches and he gets ready to leap once again when Hugo charges forward. There is the one problem of Hugo's insane reach being able to snag El Fuerte out of the air. He has a look of surprise, but it is easily covered up by that massive hand as El Fuerte goes for a ride and is crushed between both turnbuckle and Hugo. It is a good thing they reinforced the ring, because right now it would have already been in shambles the way it is getting punished so far.

The luchador staggers and slumps forward to land on his hands and knees. "Such strength. I cannot get caught again." he tells himself. With a deep breath he hops back to his feet and leaps backwards to land on the turnbuckle before leaping high in the air. "TOSTADAAAAAA!" he cries out loudly as he flips about and comes crashing downwards in an attempt to land on Hugo as hard as he can. In retrospect it is probably not a good idea to be the smaller man in this scenario.

In retrospect, it is probably not a good idea to make an attempt at catching a man who is reasonably fast, and whose weight you are not familiar with. When Fuerte goes airborn, Hugo takes a moment to look upwards. His arms are up, aiming to see if he catch the nimble little luchador. Unfortunately, ring rust also equates to making bad decisions from time to time. The momentum picked up by Fuerte is enough to overpower the German giant, and he crumples backwards with a crash as he's brought to the canvas at high velocity.

The impact leaves even El Fuerte a bit stunned. Mostly for the fact that Hugo is buckling and they hit the mat hard. El Fuerte doesn't wait there either and quickly scrambles to get away. He makes it to an opposite corner which still isn't very far when someone like Hugo is concerned and he tries to decide on his next course of action. The big man is down so perhaps he should keep up his assault. He obviously has managed to get the element of surprise and he isn't sure how long it will take before Hugo manages to adapt and begin to anticipate El Fuerte's moves better.

"It is decided!" What he decided people probably have no idea, but they are about to find out. Once Hugo starts to get up El Fuerte charges forward. It is almost comical because he can't really get his arms around the big man's waist. Instead he grasps at the beltline of Hugo's pants as he hefts upwards and he tries to take to the sky. With the power of the Chef he manages to get even enough air to do a complete flip if this works and drive Hugo down on his head. "FAAAAJITASSSSS BUUUUSTAAAAH!"(wulf).

This shouldn't even be possible.

The size difference alone should render this reasonably impossible. Nevermind that Hugo's boots probably weigh as much as El Fuerte does, the mass involved, the physics.. but things like physics don't apply in the wrestling ring, which is where he's finding himself being taken off his feet by a man half his size, then thrown around in a flip before driven rather painfully down onto the back of his head. And it's there that he remains for a moment, stunned beyond words that this was done to him by someone other than, say... Haggar.

When Hugo does finally regain his composure, it's gone beyond frustration. He climbs slowly back up to his feet, then he slaps his hands to his face. "You fight well, little man." And the luchador is, in truth, fighting extremely well. But this is when Hugo decides that things need to be put to rest. One, two, three slow steps are taken before he starts charging across the ring, barrelling straight at the little Latino wrestler.

One massive hand clasps onto El Fuerte's face, and rather abruptly, they both skid to a halt as Hugo pivots about, turning faster than a man his size should be able to. His hand drops, dragging Fuerte down with him as he gets the momentum first, then brings his arm up, throwing his opponent into the air. The tree trunks that he calls legs coil as he crouches, then leaps into the air, colliding with the Mexican in mid-air in a sort of cross-body before Hugo actually manages not one, but two forward somersaults, bringing Fuerte around with him before descending quickly to the ground. With one massive crash, Hugo lands on his opponent, arms out wide with nothing bracing all that weight, nothing preventing him from cratering the poor soul trapped underneath.

Things like what El Fuerte did should be impossible, but he is one of those wrestlers that somehow just seems to be able to do things he should not. Much like how people wonder how he can pull a frying pan from nowhere at times. He is perhaps being a bit too boastful at said feet too as he gives a loud laugh. "The Hurricane of the Gulf cannot be defea-MNF!" That is when once again his face is engulfed by a meaty hand and if the luchador thought the first ride was a bumpy one then he is in for a big surprise. The impact makes some pretty sickening sounds and there are parents covering up the eyes of their children from what just happened. It isn't pretty and a lesser wrestler would probably be dead right now.

In fact El Fuerte isn't moving for awhile after Hugo gets off of him. He just remains planted firmly on the canvas and just when the referee is about to call it the luchador manages to spring to life. "No! I shall not quit!" he screams and raises a hand to the sky. "IT IS DYNAMIC COOKING TIME!" If anything it seems like the impact may have just rattled the little guys brain since there aren't any cooking utensils around. He turns about though and he soon running straight for Hugo with arms raised and a bit of a crazy look in his eyes.

And then he makes his impact at surprising velocity. Somehow the little luchador musters enough strength to heft Hugo upwards and actually fling him into the air. "EL FUERTE!" He yells loudly and then jumps upwards himself to catch Hugo as he goes skywards. "FLLLLLYYYYYIIIIING!" That is when he begins to flip about several times while coming downwards. An impact that makes the ring shake and almost collapse when he drives Hugo head first into the mat. "GIIIIGAAAA BUSSSSTAAAAAAH!" He releases quickly and flips away to land on the middle of the top of rope and keeps his balance somehow while trying to catch his breath as the crowd just stares at what happened.

The crowd, and Hugo, are having a bit of a problem believing what just happened. If the Fajitas Buster seemed unlikely, it seemed impossible that this might be the case. But up Hugo went, up and right back down again, spun around repeatedly before having his skull rattled with a bone-crushing impact when his skull collides with the mat. And it's there that he remains for a few long seconds. Slowly, groggily, he starts to climb back up to his feet, almost looking as if he's stuck in slow motion. To his feet he goes, though, managing to straighten up before an amused little grin pulls at his lips. "Good match. Good return to ring for Hugo." He still looks rattled as he speaks, then lurches forward once again, aiming to bring the luchador down with him. One heavy limb raises, cocked back at first, then as he closes to striking distance, his entire torso rotates, bringing every little ounce of force that he can gather as he aims a massive lariat straight for Fuerte's throat.

That surely had to best the other wrestler. Could he really get up from such a thing? Well the answer for Fuerte is yes and that just sends the crowd into a frenzy since it seems like this main event is going to keep going. "Very good match, amigo. You are a worth opponent." he replies and then instead of waiting for Hugo to come at him he jumps right into that powerful lariat. It knocks the air out of him, but El Fuerte latches on tightly upon impact and takes a deep breath.

With a loud yell the luchador pulls back and once again somehow manages to get the big man off his feet, and then falling backwards to plant hugo on the mat again. Fuerte lands hard too and he lays there for a few moments as he takes several deep breathes. This match is taking alot out of him and he is finding it hard to get to his feet once again. "J....just stay down, amigo." he murmurs and he manages to stagger back and rest against a corner as he catches his breath.

Ah, the feeling of his forearm colliding with someone's breathing tubes. At first, it's an almost comforting sensation, but comfort changes to confusion as El Fuerte suddenly takes hold of his arm and starts to move with it. A surprised grunt is all that precedes a rather abrupt trip down to the mat, once again rattling brainmeats as the back of his head slams against the canvas. For a moment, it looks like the behemoth might be down for the count.

Slowly, slooooowly... up he goes. A shake of his head sends black hair flying this way and that, and he braces his hands against his knees as he lifts himself upright again. "Hugo.. does not stay down, herr luchador." A deeeeeep breath is taken before he claps his hands together, then both hands come back, raising above and behind his head before they both swing straight for El Fuerte's skull, aiming to clap his masked cranium between oversized mitts.

El Fuerte is getting too sore to really move well. The beating he took combined with the overexertion of picking up and fliping Hugo about has drained him. He is actually just trying to fall backwards out of reach from Hugo only to get a nice large clap to both sides of the head that send him staggering back to the ropes. He feels things going rather fuzzy and the crowd even sounds muffled as they roar loudly. "I see. I shall try to see how true that is."

With what little energy he has, El Fuerte bounces off the ropes then kicks his legs forward to slide towards Hugo. He is actually unconcious for the most part as his body propels forward to take Hugo's legs out from under him and the luchador continues onwards until he ends up outside of the ring and on the ground without moving aside from the rise and fall of his chest to show he is still breathing. It is a good fight. He has no regrets.

For all the vocal bravado, Hugo's goddamn tired. Keeping up with such a quick opponent really takes it out of someone, and really, he's feeling reasonably drained when his palms crash together. He brings both hands back, and only a nod acknowledges Fuerte's comment before he's off towards the ropes again. Expecting another aerial assault, the slide along the ground catches him off guard, and there's only one possible answer: try to brace those oversized legs and hold his ground. The Mexican has just enough in him to bring Hugo down, though, and his legs go out from under him. Face first he goes, and right alongside El Fuerte does Hugo drop, hitting the ground with a massive thud.

The referee is in the ring almost immediately, and he starts the count of ten.

Simple instinct tells the German, though, that it's not time to nap quite yet. At the count of four, he's starting to get up again. Six, and he grabs El Fuerte by a shoulder and forces him to roll over, shoulders to the mat before attempting a pin. The ref drops to the mat, and his hand slaps the mat once! Twice! Three times! It's a rather anti-climatic victory, but as the German stumbles his way to his feet, the ref raises one of those baseball mitt hands.

"Your winnah... HUUUUUUUUGOOOOOOOOOOO!"
