Description: By an unusual twist of fate, two very different individuals with two very different goals happen upon each other while pursuing a Southtown Syndicate smuggling operation. Rock was so kind in unwittingly helping Juri complete her mission that she could barely contain her exuberance! Unfortunately for dear Rock this exuberance came in the form of violence...
As such things go, it's late night--perhaps forty-five minutes past midnight, just when the underbelly of the city is turning upwards, exposing itself to the pale light of the moon. Such things happen, as they do, in grubby, dark places... such as the rickety warehouse that Rock is pulling up to. His touring cycle's engine throbs lowly, as he brings the throttle down, coming to a stop maybe fifty yards away.
He glances down, checking the address against the slip of paper in his hand and he nods. "Yeah, this is the place..." He'd heard that some of the Syndicate were going to be running a deal through the warehouse, and he intends to stop it. The place isn't well-fortified, or even easy to lock down--it has numerous entry points, and the Syndicate, fallen on hard times lately, doesn't have the men to cover them all... but they're still trying. Rock, then, finds it relatively simple to approach, even wearing his trademark jacket, shirt, pants and boots; the guards, spread thin, are dealt with one by one, in the traditional fashion.
He isn't killing them, though--they're just doing their jobs, if badly--so there's a trail of unconscious thugs to follow, as he enters the warehouse. It's a -big- warehouse, with multiple levels; he enters on the second floor, the better to survey the place and find out where the meeting is happening. Of course, it's dead center--spots of light show where the guards are, via their flashlights, and there's a glow coming up from an area boxed in by cargo containers. "That's it," he mutters, and starts moving through the warehouse. Lights, seen from an overhead view, start winking out, one by one, as muffled crunches and thuds announce just where the Howard scion is, if one is listening.
Life isn't easy, even for the underground crime syndicates. There are big ones, small ones, and each of them is much akin to a wolf fighting over a single piece of meat. So it's important then to make sure that the other wolves know the rules of the road. Or else.
Juri's orders were simple: Go to the address, rough up some random punks, and make sure they know who not to cross. Ho hum to Juri really. These punks are usually the bottom feeders - the unskilled and untrustworthy who are delegated to the lowest classes of labor. She arrived at the warehouse just a few minutes before Rock had. The sound of a motorcycle engine attracts her attention, and her curiosity. In true predatory fashion she hides from sight in order to see what this is about.
Truth be told, Juri knows very little about Rock Howard. Kept in a hole for most of her adult life and only fed information on a 'need to know' basis means that she lacked the resources that even access to basic cable provides. However she doesn't need any prior information to determine some things about the other visitor: He's athletic, he's confident, he's not one of her targets and he seems to feel perfectly secure with wandering into a gang warehouse.
Juri cannot help but lick her lips with anticipation.
She allows Rock to go in first, and waits to follow after. It's simple to follow Rock without being detected - after all, he provides such a nice bread crumb trail of crumpled thugs to follow. With the lights all but off Juri can move even more freely. Her left eye lets her see just fine in near pitch blackness, a gift which not too many of her foes can count on. For now she is content to watch as Rock does her job for her.
When Rock returns to the main floor of the warehouse though something changes. Most notably there is the sound of someone clapping from overhead. The source of the sound is a woman, sitting atop one of the cargo boxes with one leg curled under her while the other dangles loosely from the side of the crate. A menacing purr whispers through the air, "Well well... you look like you're in good shape mmm?" A dry chuckle follows. "But you're not very good at this, you know. You left far too many of them breathing." Ominously, a bright purple glow ignites in the woman's left eye, "Say? How about the two of us play a game?"
Rock's eyes narrow. Unfortunate... he should've sensed her. Like Juri is missing information on him, Rock is missing information on her--but that isn't too surprising, given that Juri is a relative newcomer to the game, such as it is, and a well-kept secret at that. And though he isn't psychic or psionic, Rock can -feel- the waves of danger rolling off of her, that quiet menace like a low-level hiss of static around him.
"I'm not a killer," he says, shortly, something about her getting his blood up already. He was just about to turn away, when something about what she says... makes him turn around again. "I hope," he says, deliberately, "that you didn't decide to finish them off... 'for me'. I'd take exception to that." His tone is carefully controlled; he can hear the bigwigs scrambling to take off, but he knows that taking his attention off Juri is going to be all the more likely to be fatal. That purple glow...
"Heh. If you want to 'play'... don't cry when you lose. I don't go easy on anyone," he says. Noting that he's very close to being backed against a wall, he walks forward a bit, to give himself a touch of room, and framing him in the yellow light coming from the 'door' gap in the cargo containers.
Wryly, he says, "I'm pretty sure you wouldn't take 'no' for an answer, so... bring it!" He snaps the end of the sentence and pulls his arms up into proper Hakkyouseiken stance, bouncing on the balls of his feet. Gotta stay mobile, after all.

The Korean national sighs softly as she gathers herself up, and leaps down from the crate to the warehouse floor. She lands with the grace and skill of an expert martial artist. It's easy to follow her movements thanks to her left eye. It gives off a constant dull glow in the low light of the room, and a barely audible high-pitched whine centers from her position. Juri puts both arms behind her head as she stretches, "Ahhhh... and who is to say that's the kind of game I want to play? Maybe I was wanting you to give me a tour of one of those famous Japanese day hotels?"
An amused, sensual smirk follows as she rolls her hips around. It doesn't last though. For suddenly she lets her hands drop from her side and she slouches forward. A low chuckle escapes her lips, followed with an all-out maniacal cackle that echoes throughout the warehouse facility! When she is finished she just shakes her head, "Oh well, I guess that ruined the moment didn't it? Anyway, we'll play your way." Her voice maintains that menacing purr as she continues, "And, good news, if you win I promise that I'll be a good girl and not kill anyone else."
Else? Has she... well, yes, she probably has come to think of it.
Juri stands still as she watches Rock now. Her head cocked to one side, body loose: it's evident she is not yet taking her fighting stance. Probably not wanting to give Rock a clue yet as to what she is about to come at him with. Instead her left eye glows brighter and feeds a tactical readout about his current stances, the possible fighting style it represents, its weaknesses and strengths. Everything a girl could want when it comes to delivering a mighty painful kick to someone's jaw.
"Well? Don't keep me waiting."

Rock lifts an eyebrow. "Then I'd -definitely- have to say sorry... I don't do that kind of thing..." He followed the jump down and the subsequent stretching with neutral interest--she doesn't look -bad-, but she looks like one of those borderline psychotics... well, maybe not even borderline, he reassesses, as she continues to talk--he didn't miss the tone of her voice. Lip quirking, just a touch, he shakes his head.
"I don't think you know what a 'good girl' is..." Still bantering? Sort of... but his own gaze isn't idle either. He may not have Awesome Cybernetics to work with, but he is an experienced fighter, and he can get something of a read on her, in a more natural fashion. He expects her to be speedy, and to be cruel... time to test just -how- speedy, really. Setting his feet for just the briefest of moments, he pushes off, throwing himself into a forward run that doesn't pound the pavement quite as hard as one might expect--and then he springs forward, just a few steps before he would reach her position, cocking back his right fist.
He brings it forward and down, that gloved fist aimed to plow into her stomach just as he would land from that small leap, just a touch of momentum still carrying him forward for a half-second after he lands.

The punch doesn't make it to its destination. Instead Rock will find it has impacted quite solidly against her forearm. She chuckles slightly, "Tsk ... I should have known. Boys like you aren't interested in girls like me." A joyless rictus spreads her lips taught as she grins, "They like ... well, boys like you." With a laugh, and a flash of garish violet light, Juri is gone!
Well that's not quite true. While most fighters are used to how fast fighters move, Juri moves quite a bit faster than most. Her body becomes a blur of motion as she crouches and practically /powerslides/ between Rock's legs. When she comes up on his other side she'll take the time to lean forward to whisper into his ear, "I'm just kidding of course."
That will be right before she unleashes her next attack. A rather unorthodox one actually, for anyone who knows Juri and knows her style. She simply raises her hand to touch Rock's back and unleashes a blast of murky violet energy! The intent will be to blast him forward and have him slam face-first against the crates she was standing on earlier.
Regardless, the energy she releases is almost immediately recognizable as 'not chi'.

Rock grunts; he knew she'd be fast. The impact wasn't solid enough to be a hit, and he was already turning as she slid through his legs to come up behind him--but too late. Still, when the blast hits, he's able to turn so that he impacts the crates back-first, rather than face-first, creating a resounding 'BONG' throughout the warehouse. That... was a pretty painful hit, and he recognizes that touch of energy immediately.
"Heh..." He spits out a little blood, wiping his mouth with one gloved hand, and nods. "Not bad... I figured you'd be a tough customer." He puts his left leg back against the crate he's on and uses it to push off, to push forward, giving himself maybe five feet before he comes to a halt, reaching back with his right hand.
Purple energy flares there, like wind and fire contained in one hissing package, and he sweeps that hand forward and up, releasing that energy into the ground as a wavefront, flowing across the concrete floor for Juri's feet.
"But don't think one hit's going to earn you applause!! REPPUKEN!!" Okay, so, shouting the attack name is pretty silly. But it's traditional. He can't help it.
COMBATSYS: Juri parries Rock's Reppuken!

Rock 0/-------/----===|====---\-------\0 Juri
Truth be told, Juri is impressed. Normally after being hit with a wave of pure Psycho Power her opponents are left dazed at the very least, if not unconcious. Juri's joyless rictus instead turns to a thrilled smile when she sees Rock spit out a bit of his own blood. "Oh? Yeah, I suppose I am a 'tough customer'." she responds with a chuckle, "It's hard to tell really. So often I'm sent against wimps and weirdos." Unrestrained delight lights up her face as she watches Rock come closer to her, "But you. You're different. You're actually capable! Which makes it all the more thrilling."
A cackling laugh resonates from within the warehouse right before a sudden flash of purple light, accompanied with the shout of 'REPPUKEN!' Juri at first thought he was going to send a fireball at her, much like many fighters do. She even leaned forward to beckon it with one hand, and greet it with a willing smile. When instead he slams his fist downward Juri is initially confused, then pleasantly surprised as the wave bursts upward from the ground before her! When the energy connects her body she once again disappears in a garish flash. This time though she doesn't power slide between Rock's legs - no, she has launched herself straight upward.
Momentarily she seems to float in mid-air, before finally her right foot lances out in an extremely painful kick aimed toward Rock's chest. The second kick will actually be her delivering an upward knee strike - intending to juggle him up and into the air. Should the previous two connect she'll deliver a final one-two kick combo, the final of which being delivered with such force that once again he'll be rocketed back against the crates.
Only this time, in MID-AIR.
COMBATSYS: Juri successfully hits Rock with Shikusen EX.

Rock 0/-------/-======|======-\-------\0 Juri
In over his head? Oh, most certainly. Rock's guard is simply blown open by the first kick, the upwards knee takes him into the air and the subsequent kicks thrash him into yet another cargo container. He remains there for almost five seconds, then peels off the container and falls forward, as if he were simply going to fall onto his face...
But halfway there, he seems to rouse himself, and tucks into a flip, landing on his feet. His chest feels as if he let Bison use it as a punching bag... he's definitely in over his head. But he knew that, coming into the fight. He won't let it faze him. Stalwartly, he refuses to rub his chest, though he wants to, and instead considers his next action... clearly, he can't just sit back and wait. She'll destroy him if he does that. Instead... the only thing he can really do is be proactive.
He doesn't think about going into 'survival mode'... eh doesn't think like that. Hakkyouseiken isn't -about- that. Setting himself, he charges forward, pumping his feet and then pushing off, using a touch of chi to hurl himself into a flying elbow strike, intended to combine with a palm strike that would take Juri right in the throat. It's probably crazy to get too close to her, but he isn't going to let her scare him!

Rock 1/--=====/=======|=======\-------\0 Juri
Perhaps you should be scared. You'd have to be crazy not to be. After all, here is a woman who just moments ago told you that you were screwing up by not KILLING people. Furthermore that look in those violet colored eyes of hers. So hungry, so predatory.
If anyone tries to tell you monsters aren't real, just send them to Juri.
As she watches Rock gather himself again, this time taking a bit longer, she stands there quietly with her head cocked and her eyes glazed over slightly. Her voice can be heard whispering in that menacing purr over the silence of the warehouse floor, "Not bad, not bad. You're still moving. Though I felt your ribs give in a little there. You're lucky they didn't crack, but I imagine it didn't feel good having them compress your lungs and heart like that." She snickers coldly.
And then once again it's time for his counter-attack. However, that blast of chi Rock uses to propel himself doesn't just make him go faster - it also telegraphs the HELL out of your attack! Almost as badly as, y'know, calling out your attack name. Luckily Juri has no such weaknesses herself. Which is why when he rockets toward her, Rock will instead feel his elbow impacting against Juri's right thigh! Before he can continue his assault though he will then feel the top of her foot pressing down upon his head. That's only the beginning though. Soon her left knee joins the party, rocketing up and trying to catch him under the chin! Rocketing ... Rock up into the air, Juri will leap up and deliver yet another powerful kick to send Rock sprawling back against those crates! When she lands she speaks once more in that menacing purr, "My my my... you are really getting friendly with those boxes. I guess we better be glad they weren't smuggling explosives in here, huh?"
Rock coughs a laugh out. It sounds pained, but his spirit is unbroken, at least, as he peels himself out of the crate. "Wouldn't blow up like that anyways," he informs her, "this ain't a movie." No, it's a beating, a bad one. But Rock's -been- beat badly before.. by killers... and he's still alive yet. This time... well, this time, he doesn't just charge in. The battle is, astonishingly, only moments old, but it's already almost over... Rock can feel it, in the weakness of his body, the insistence it has on betraying him.
So, he pushes up to his feet once more, breathing heavily, stance dropping, but his arms up. "Only thing they were smuggling in here... was drugs," he says, conversationally, as he narrows his eyes, then opens them again, his movements steadying, if not slowing any more than they already have.
"If they'd been smuggling explosives I'd've called the cops on 'em... but they were brokering a deal for distribution, so they just had samples of their 'product'. Not enough to do anything with, really..." All the blathering isn't just for show, really, but what else is he gonna do.
"Not that I expect you to care about it," he adds, with a touch of that smirking grin on his lips.

Juri seems content to allow Rock to talk it out, as it were. His body has been through enough now that she seems to not feel any immediate threat from him. Instead she walks around with her hands held in front of her. Her eyes taking the guise of an innocent young womans as she speaks, "Ahhh? Really? And here I thought I was going to make my debut as a Taekwondo Action Starlet. A mysterious young woman with a difficult past setting out to bring light to a darkened world..."
This mock description of herself causes her to shake with laughter! She then turns her head to look at Rock over her shoulder, that sharp predatory gaze once returning, "I'm sorry. Sometimes I get carried away with myself." Now she turns back to face him. It doesn't take high-tech cybernetic wizardry to recognize what is going on. Rock is preparing for something. Whatever that something is, she isn't sure. Whatever it is it's sure to be interesting though, so she is content to allow herself a moment to stretch her legs while he watches her movements and explains the going-ons of the warehouse. His descriptions are met with idle responses 'You don't say...' 'Interesting...' 'Mmhmm...'
She lets her left leg drop back down firmly to the concrete floor. With that her eye suddenly begins to glow extremely bright! "Huh? Oh, I care a great deal about it. You see, that's why I'm here. Beating the crap out of you is just a bonus! Speaking of which ..." She flings her right arm backwards, "THIS IS IT!!!"
Juri once again becomes a blur of motion as she rushes forward to Rock's position. Within a moment she'll be spinning in a horizontal cyclone of purple energy. The intent, of course, will be to drag Rock into her forceful Psycho Powered kicks!

COMBATSYS: Rock prepares to take his last stand against Juri!
[ \\\\\\ < > //////////////////////// ]
Rock 1/-======/=======|-------\-------\0 Juri
Unfortunately for Rock, the first kick was only the beginning. Juri's Kaisen Dankairaku is the thing of nightmares. It begins with a sweep trailing with purple energy, but as soon as the opponent is off their feet they are quickly swept up into the air in an upward spiral of repeated psycho powered kicks! Several meters off the ground now Juri, and her opponent, are suspended in air. Juri is rising above the opponent now with swirling clouds of purple energy billowing around her. Her foot is drawn back, and with a smooth motion is delivered as an overpowering downward kick!
Streaking toward the ground now, the opponent may glimpse something strange out of the corner of their eye. It's Juri, somehow having propelled herself downward at a speed much faster than they are. She'll land on the ground with so much speed she'll have to drop to all fours, and even then she skids to a stop. Afterward she turns around and delivers a painful upward kick directly at the small of the descending opponent's back!
Everything stops for that moment. Juri, with her opponent suspended and while holding a standing vertical split, will lean up to gently carress their chin. The garish violet light from her cybernetic eye can be seen out of the corner of their vision. She usually whispers something gently at this point, and in this case it is: "Did that feel good?" Then the light shining from her eye flares even brighter, and with a maniacal grin she turns on her heel to plow her opponent head-first into the concrete floor.
Of course this is all a sanitized description: For Rock, it's all very personal and all very painful.
He can't be blamed, really; with the amount of damage he'd taken already, it's not a surprise that his last-ditch effort was denied, that powerful sweep kick blowing his arms away again, leaving him open for the onslaught of pain that Juri decides to put him through. Slammed into the concrete floor, he bounces quite acrobatically, flipping over and landing on his back; it's an experience that would, rightfully, be the end for most. And for maybe three seconds, it seems that way for Rock as well.
Then his eyes pop open and he springs back to his feet... well, sort of, climbs back to them anyways. His lower face is a mask of blood--his nose broken, crimson streaming out from it--his ribs, smashed and wandering around in his body a little, bruises and contusions and edema everywhere.
But he's still moving, somehow, growling an almost-feral growl in his throat. He isn't done yet... but only barely.
After her attack is finished, Juri watches Rock's flailings with a great deal of amusement. A delightful sigh runs its course through her body and she stretches her arms out, "Oh well. Another broken toy. It's too bad, I guess I'll have to play around with the others then." She hums softly to herself and reaches down to playfully swing the loose end of her belt around as she walks off.
Of course it's not quite over yet. When Rock's eyes snap open and he starts to clamber to his feet Juri stops in mid-step. Her right foot lowers slowly to the ground and she turns to face him once more. That garish violet light illuminates the area in front of her face and her lips can be seen quite clearly as she speaks, "Oh? Wow... I must say I'm impressed. To think you'd care so much about a bunch of common street thugs." Swiftly she turns around to fully face Rock with her hands on her hips. "Seriously though, what is it you plan to do at this point huh? Piss me off more so I stick around to stomp on your face?" Suddenly her eyes light up and she cackles maniacally, "OH! I /LIKE/ the sound of that. Let's do that then. When I'm through with you even your mother wouldn't recognize you." She turns then and walks directly toward Rock. Meanwhile her left eye continues its analysis. At this point Rock is clearly on his last legs, and the scan concurs. What is keeping him standing can only be a pure force of will. He does however have a great deal of stored up energy residing within his body. This could be dangerous. However, Juri is still in good shape so she's hardly concerned with that.
For right now anyway.
COMBATSYS: Juri focuses on her next action.

Rock 1/-======/=======|-------\-------\0 Juri
"... ain't about street thugs... I don't like killing..." There's only one specific exception to that, but that's neither here nor there. For all Rock would want, he is just not ready to face his father (again). And -then- she talks about his mother... his fists tighten. No... he won't tell her about his mother. She doesn't deserve to know about that august personage. But the reference fires him up all the more, as he charges at the lithe, quick form of the Korean woman with the mysterious glowing eye.
Charges, and attempts to open her guard with a right knee, followed smoothly by a series of strikes--left hook, left uppercut, high right roundhouse, high spinning heel kick from his left--plant that foot, reverse the momentum, smash the left fist around and down, come up with a right uppercut--
And then finish, clapping both hands together and unleashing that stored energy in a flash of white chi, a starburst shaped-charge that flares out from him, lighting up the entire area for all of five seconds, throwing that harsh brightness everywhere.
The assault leaves him on one knee, panting for breath, and probably all too vulnerable...

If only... if only.
Tonight has not been Rock's finest hour. When he comes at Juri with all his anger, all his rage, her eyes widen. She can recognize this feeling. She can recognize this emotion!
SHE KNOWS because SHE HAS FELT IT!
And so when Rock strikes out at her with his knee, her foot is already rising up in the air. His knee will find purchase on her outer thigh, sure. But her foot, on the other hand, will end up meeting him directly in the face. It's not her most powerful kick. No, not by a long shot. It's intended to send a foe that is already on the ropes to finally give in to the inevitable.
When it is finished Juri will be standing there and once more staring at Rock coldly. "Don't worry. Maybe if you're lucky, you'll never have to worry about her seeing your ruined face." Juri's eyes light up with the delightful cruelty of her words, and she stares at Rock's face just to see what sort of emotional torment she has delivered upon him. Thanks to her near perfect memory she'll never forget what it looked like or what it felt at that moment to see it.
It'll be with her, always.
He doesn't let her see that torment. That's -his- torment, not for Juri to taste. The shot from her foot stops him cold, but it doesn't knock him over; he staggers back, and the only thing she can see on his face is determination. He simply -won't- give her the satisfaction of knowing how close to home that shot about his mother was.
"You're right," he says, through gritted teeth. "I won't." Time enough for one last surge of energy, burning through both arms, flaring into his hands--they glow bright, once again, fingers spread into clawed shapes, and he hurls them, one after the other--building power wave on power wave, going from something knee-high to something waist-high... and even as he unleashes it...
He's running. He's not stupid--he knows he can't beat her like this. "There isn't any shame in admitting defeat, Rock," Terry said to him, once... though how often has Terry Bogard had to do so? "Just make sure you live to try again. Offense to honor isn't the same as a threat to your life. There'll be times you -have- to fight... and those times you make sure you win... but there won't always be times like those..." And this isn't one of them.
Whatever Juri does with the wave of power... she won't find Rock in front of her.

Juri 0/-------/---====|
It is at this moment that Juri's psycho power helps her out. She can't sense all emotions, not well anyway. The ones she can detect though she detects very strongly - the so-called negative emotions of rage, sadness, despair and so forth. All of those emotions are pouring from Rock now, even as he tries his best to disguise his emotions behind stern determination. So full of energy from this Juri feels no fear when facing the waves of chi energy Rock produces! Indeed, with a mocking laugh she charges toward them!
The first wave is blasted apart by one of Juri's kicks, and then the second is stomped into the ground with equal ferocity! "NO MORE TRICKS!" She cries victoriously, "Now ... it's time for the good par--- hm?" She glances around the floor of the warehouse and realises, suddenly, it's empty besides her.
Juri's left eye glows ominously as she scans the area. Almost immediately she picks up on something - drops of blood. A trail, in fact, on the floor leading away from her. A dry chuckle rises from her lips, "Oh, a hunt... this sounds like fu---"
Juri's cell phone starts ringing.
With a harsh growl Juri takes the cellphone from her pocket and growls into it, "WHAT?!" ... "YEAH! It's all taken care of. What are you worried about?" ... "Huh?" ... "Well yeah, I was going to report back but then I found something better to do." An angry man's voice on the line yells at her through the earpiece, and she mockingly mouths the words he's saying while rolling her eyes.
When he's done yelling she sighs and places one hand on her hip, "OK fine, I'm coming back. But this better be important ... mm?" Suddenly a delighted grins come to her face, "Oh? A tournament eh... ninjas? Tanks? Explosives?! Hehe... you sure know how to make a woman feel loved." ... "Heh, yeah, of course. I'll be right there." The cellphone is snapped closed and Juri glances back into the cavernous depths of the warehouse, "Well ... next time then. Maybe we can have more fun talking about your mother."
With one final, mocking laugh Juri disappears into the shadows of the warehouse.
