Marz - My Milkshake Brings All The Dolls to the Yard

Description: In Metro City, there are wonderful places. Places with fighting, and milkshakes, and nefarious underhand dealings which are meant to determine whether or not anyone can really be sure what the mysterious Yurika is up to can take place. Discussions are made, dolls discuss their enemies and their allies, their plots and their plans, all in the name of delicious strawberry and lime ice-cream goodness.

Metro square's a good place for anonymity. WIth all the hustle and bustle outside and people watching the latest challengers take each other on in the ring, it's a unique place to easily blend into the crowd to do some shopping. Or, in this case, simple relaxation over a milkshake. The two girls are tucked away in a little corner bistro, Juni peering over a menu as she slurps on a straberry shake.
"Thanks for coming out with me, Marz.. everyone's usually busy. It's been a while since I had a chance to relax."

Marz doesn't get out much, it's true. But, the accounts have been gone over, the various business interests balanced, and investments made. With much of Shadaloo laying relatively low, there wasn't really much for her to worry about, especially as she's spent so long watching the Southtown interests so closely over the past few weeks.

When Juli had made the offer, she leapt at it. She herself has a bright green lime milkshake, which she is sipping on whilst she goes over the menu herself. "It's okay." She replies, "I've never been to Metro City before. It is..." She looks outside for a moment. "Busy."

Juni glances over Marz' shoulder at the burly guy strutting his stuff in the center ring, and tsk.. "Busy is good, just have to remember to behave yourself. You have been behaving yourself, not neglecting your training?" Juni asks curiously. Small talk never was one of Juni's strongest points, and it shows in the way she's fiddling with her straw. There's a sip every now and then, but she mostly spends her time twirling it around in her cup, turning the icecream and strawberry mix into a kind of half-melted goo.

Marz nods slowly, "I'm getting better." She confirms, "I can control my energy more easily, now. I estimate that I could defeat many low-tier threats without assistance in roughly sixty four per cent of equal or surprise advantage encounters. Though I am still far from being as strong as you, or the others."

Marz, too, is not very good at small talk, but she does make an effort, as Juli had been kind enough to ask her out.

"I believe that with your assistance, we could eliminate many second tier threats, and even potentially distract first tier threats like Sagat!"

... Okay, so she has a different opinion of small talk to most people, but at least she's trying!

A nod in consideration of that, Juni running the numbers in her head. While her earlier fights were starting to worry about her effectivness as a fighter due to a number of embarrasing losses, the latest have been.. remarkably kind. "Perhaps.. there are some people I need to fight with again to see if I've improved on my own weaknesses." Juni responds, "Yurika is .. well, she won't fight me anyways. There was a boy in my last match.. Zach, have you faced him before?"
As she waits for your response, Juni takes a sip of the milkshake... or at least tries to. While its natural unmolten state is easily handled with a straw, it's a bit harder to suck up a solid mass. She takes the spoon for this one instead, carefully scooping up a bite of the icecream.

"Zach Glen, YFCC member, utilizes uncontrolled psycho power. He has talent but little control. Spirit, but no finesse. In combat, I would estimate a thirty per cent chance that I would defeat him, perhaps thirty seven if I could manipulate the situation..."

There's a moments hesitation before she adds, "No, I haven't fought him, but, I try to keep up to date with our files and predictions."

She sips at her own milkshake, mmmmmm. Milkshake. It was nice, discussing these things in a surrounding that wasn't so menacing as usual.

Juni already determined the first part of the analyses, while she could practically feel the psy power trying to escape his small frame, it kept coming out in ways Juni found lacking at best. The second part? Well, there's analyzing date and then there's analyzing date.
"Do you think it would be a good idea for you to train with him? Teach him to use his psy more effectively and try to steer him to the right places to go." Which would, of course, be Shadaloo -- but that's just not said in public.

Marz considers this for a few moments, and then shakes her head slowly. "Unfortunately not." She replies, "I've engaged the leaders of the YFCC in my official capacity, and especially Alma and Frei. Both of them are very strong. The former would almost certainly be able to determine who I am, regardless of attempts to disguise myself."

She leans back in her chair, tapping her chin slowly, and remembering another discussion she'd had with the mercenary, quite some time ago. "Besides." She says, slowly. "It would be unwise to try and turn him against his friends quickly at the moment, which would be necessary in the long term. As an asset, he is limited by the connections to the YFCC. If you think he is susceptible, I would recommend turning him away from his connections to the YFCC first. But he has to break those bonds himself. We can't do it directly, because if it backfires, they would be... very potent enemies."

Juni nods her head absently, considering his afiliation. Well, it was worth a shot at least. "I believe he knows me in my official capacity as well." Of course, after that first fight with Heavy D when she released the Vega bomb, there's probably few people interested in the tournament who .doesn't. know Juni by her official assignment.
It's a good a time as any to change the subject though, and Juni lets the other matter drop in favor of why she really brought you out here, "Southtown organization .. hmn. There is some paperwork I'd like you to take a look at, Marz." Juni says as she reaches down for her backpack. Withdrawing a folder, she slides it across the table to you. "It's a list of people endorsing Yurika's tournament. For various reasons it's now under my control.. I'd like you to run though this, see if you can find anything out of line."

Marz nods her head, taking the folder and sliding it casually into the backpack down by the side of her chair, along with her laptop. It wouldn't do to read the folder in public after all. "I can do that." She replies, easily. And it's true. Reading over things and plotting them against the known variables was what Marz was really there to -do-.

"Is there something in particular you are looking for?" She asks, folding her hands on the table. "I mean, I haven't heard that there is anything untoward about the tournament, but I could be mistaken."

"I hope there isn't as well." Juni replies, "Yurika should know better than to get her fund raising event mixed up with criminal cartels." Which, of course, is basically the exact opposite of what actually happened if Juni's carrying official reports around.
"Just take a look at it. I want to know if there's enough in there to do what it needs to do, and how much we can squeeze out of it before there's no further point to the project."

Marz nods, and slurps up the last of her milkshake. "Understood." She replies, setting the glass back down. "I can certainly deal with that." There's a few moments of silence before she clears her throat, slightly. "If there's nothing else... I'd like to get on this as soon as possible, if there is something going on, it could be important we find it as soon as possible."

A nod, then Juni sets her glass on the table as well before rising to her feet. "Thank you, Marz, I look forward to your report." And with that, the meeting's adjurned. "I was considering going to the shop across the street.. I saw a shirt in there when I was waiting for you. Do you want to do a bit of shopping with me before you go?"

Marz looks a little bit uncomfortable, and clears her throat, "Ah, thank you for the offer..." She murmurs, blushing softly, "It's very kind of you, honestly, but I should be getting back to base." She stands up, and gives a little bow before snatching up her backpack and slinging it onto her shoulder, "Have fun, though!"
