Description: After a long hiatus, Katelynn Molina returns to the circuit with an exhibition match. Her opponent? A newcomer named Benkei. Will the newcomer gain his first win, or will Katelynn demonstrate her prowess in karate hasn't diminished in the least? (Winner: Katelynn)
At a local tournament held for young fighters, Benkei Bunya sits on a bench on one side of a large mat with a Japanese symbol on it. He's presently breathing into a bag as he tries to calm down, scared by the first real fight of his life. He's dresssed in a white karate gi with the Todoh Dojo symbol on its back, and a white belt at its waist. He's only been Todoh's student for a month, and already, he's competing professionally! Master Todoh said he could do it, and that he didn't want to see Benkei again if he didn't at least try. "Come on, Benkei, how bad could it be?!" he says to himself, between gasps for air.
Earlier today, Katelynn Molina gave an interview for the fighting circuit fans, on how she'd been out of the spotlight for awhile, practicing her training for the longest time and attempting to improve on her skills. However, she now feels very confident in her skills and is ready to return to the fighting circuit. And what better way to make her debut than via an exhibition fight at the Howard Arena? Even if it's just an exhibition, it's all in good fun.
On the other side of the area, Katelynn is practicing her techniques and warming up for the fight. She then pauses as she notices her opponent, looking rather nervous and uneasy. She walks over to her opponent and kneels down. "Hey, I know you're probably nervous, being this is your first fight and all, but you've got nothing to be afraid of," The woman says with a gentle, reassuring smile. "I was once in your shoes also, and when I had my first exhibition fight, I bet even those in the back row could see the sweat on my brow before I even started. So just take a few deep breaths, and repeat to yourself, 'I'm gonna be fine!'" With that, the fighter returns to her edge of the arena and waits for the signal to start.

Benkei looks up at Katelynn uneasily, flinching a bit. "Are you wh-who I'm fighting? Augh, I'm gonna get my ass kicked by a GIRL!" he whines. As the fighters are signalled to the center of the ring, he puts his bag down and stands, approaching to the center. After the bow, he suddenly cries, "HIIIYA!" He unleashes the patented Todoh-ryu cannon punch at Katelynn, seeking to ambush her. "Eat that!" he cries, with a sudden shot of moxie.

Get his butt kicked by a girl? Katelynn's not here to kick butt, she's here to fight a fair fight while showing that she's returned to the fighting circuit. Poor Benkei needs to relax a little!
Katelynn smiles and returns the bow before getting into her fighting stance. It's been awhile since she's been in the fighting circuit, but her fighting skills haven't diminished in the least bit. When the attack comes at her, Katelynn raises her guard and uses her forearms to deflect the punch away, even if it does sting a little bit.
"Looks like you're off on the right foot," Katelynn says with a wink. "Unfortunately, I don't plan to hold back on anything." With that, the auburn haired woman then reels back and then swiftly throws a punch at Benkei's stomach with a yell of "KIAI!"

Benkei slides into a defensive posture, his arms coming down and blocking the punch, knocking it to the side. "Ayaaaah!" he cries, before attempting to grab the wrist with his left hand. "Todoh technique number seven!" he adds, before attempting to jab his fingers into Katelynn's shoulder, attacking a pressure point. "Fabulous Pressure Point!"

The punch is defended with a lot of skill, something Katelynn admires big time. Even though Benkei is young, he's still got a lot of skill under his belt. "Nice one," Katelynn says as she pulls back into her fighting stance, ready for what might come next.
"Pressure point? I don't think so!" Katelynn then adds as she watches Benkei come at her with those fingers. Adopting a defensive stance again, Katelynn tenses up her shoulders to make her pressure point harder to get at, although it does pinch still! A small groan is emitted from the Karate fighter as she rubs at her shoulder quickly. "Looks like I'm gonna have fun with you," Katelynn says with a grin as she watches with anticipation (and a little eagerness too!) for whatever Benkei has planned next.

Benkei backpedals several steps, creating some space between the fighters. "Wha? You're barely hurt! I've unleashed two of my most POWERFUL techniques! You're only a girl, what gives?!" he says, becoming shrill towards the end as he begins to panic. "It's time for Master Todoh's ultimate technique!" He jerks his arms down, shouting, "KASANE ATE!" A pair of waves of gold chi burn their way across the blue and white fight mat, heading towards Katelynn!

"You barely have hurt me, yes, but anything can happen in this fight," Katelynn replies with a wink and a grin, only to have that grin slightly falter as she watches Benkei start to summon his chi. "Uh oh, looks like something big is coming," The Karate fighter mutters to herself. And when that chi comes at her, Katelynn's first thought is to jump out of the way. Unfortunately, she's a bit too slow.
The chi strikes her in the ankles, causing her to drop to the ground in pain. "Unngh!" She grunts, reaching over and holding her right ankle in pain, before starting to get up again. She grits her teeth through the pain, taking deep breaths at the same time. She looks at Benkei, and while her look is a little more aggressive, that grin is still there.
"OK, I truly underestimated you. Now it's time to show you what I'm capable of!" With that, Katelynn delivers a swift spin kick in the air, and when her foot hits the ground, she literally pushes off of it, flying directly at Benkei with a fast jump-kick, aimed at him like a missile!

Benkei screeches as he sees Katelynn's response to the attack, stumbling backwards and raising his arms over his head. He gets booted straight onto his back by the kick, sliding backwards a few inches. "Science H. Logic, that was a deadly attack! Did you learn that from Bruce Lee?! Darnit, that was SCARY!" Benkei awkwardly gets to his feet, before suddenly rushing blindly at Katelynn with a hand chop at her neck. "FANTASTIC TODOH CHOOOOP!"

"Actually," Katelynn replies as she lands on the ground in a semi-crouched position, "I developed it myself through years of practice and focusing my chi!" She grins a little, but doesn't do anything arrogant like dust her hands off or pose. Instead, she keeps her eye on Genkei. "So what's next?"
Apparently, Benkei is feeling a bit choppy, but Katelynn's not quite feeling the same way. She'd rather keep her neck intact today, which is why she decides to show off one of her favorite counter-attacks. Twisting to the side, Katelynn drops down into a crouched position with her front foot outstretched as she leans back slightly, while extending her palm, energized with her chi, at Benkei's stomach. "Let's see you _stomach_ that!" She says with a grin, trying not to laugh at her own bad pun.
Benkei Bunya is not prepared to be countered. He gets struck in the stomach by a blast of chi, and immediately pukes all over Katelynn with a rocket of green spew. He falls over onto his back, his glasses crooked and his mouth drooling with vomit. "Bluh...That wasn't very nice!" He lashes out with a foot, sweeping at Katelynn's ankles. "I don't think I was supposed to eat before the fight, was I?"

OK, Katelynn's been in quite a few battles before where she's had to deal with unusual circumstances, but being puked upon is not one of them. In fact, she's gonna have quite the interview today, not to mention an extra laundry day!
"Next time, wait at least an hour after eating before you come into the fighting arena," Katelynn says in a somewhat sarcastic and annoyed tone. "Now I gotta wash my clothes, which wouldn't be so damn bad, except that I'm gonna need change for that, and the old lady at my apartment is known for taking forever with her wash!" Enough with the chatter, though, Katelynn needs to keep on fighting. Starting with avoiding the kick that's aimed at her ankles. She's already been hit there once, and doesn't need to be stricken there again. She jumps diagonally away, doing a backwards somersault in the air before landing again.
"Hey kid, you wanna see my projectile now? Well, here ya go!" With that, Katelynn brings her fist back and focuses her chi into it untill a blue sphere has enveloped it. With a yell, she thrusts her fist forward, sending the sphere directly at Benkei!

Benkei climbs up to his feet as Katelynn begins summoning the energy. "Uh-oh!" He pushes his glasses up the crook of his nose, before jumping backwards from the projectile and barely evading it as it flies between his legs. He lands on one foot and falls over, landing on his side and spraining something. "Yow! Well maybe you could use a laundromat, I dunno!" His fists glow with more golden chi, before he throws it forward along the floor in another double wave. "KASANE ATE!"

"More of your chi, huh?" Katelynn says, shaking her head. "Well, I'm ready for it this time!" The karate fighter gets down into a crouched position and then puts her guard up again, pressing her feet hard against the floor to keep herself from getting pushed too far backwards by the incoming projectile when it hits. Like before when she's blocked Benkei's attacks, it does sting a little bit, but not as bad as when it hit her earlier.
But Benkei's efforts may not be for naught entirely. Not only is the fighter bruised and with a few minor cuts (or evidence thereof,) but she's starting to run out of steam it looks like. A true fighter, however, never gives up untill the very end. "You're doing well, buddy, but I'm not done yet." With that, Katelynn steps back and begins to breathe deeply, while letting her chi help her regain some of the steam she's lost.

Benkei blinks at how Katelynn turns his attack aside without much effort, gulping as he begins to sweat a bit from the energy he's burned so far. As he begins wheezing, he blinks rapidly. "Oh oh oh noooo!" he cries, clutching his chest. He quickly pulls an inhaler out of his gi, and takes two puffs, breathing them in deeply. "Darn this asthmatic condition! I'm going to build myself ROBOT LUNGS!"

"You're fighting with asthma?" Katelynn asks as she opens her eyes again. "I must say that's very admirable of you, but I don't suggest you overdo it on your lungs. I personally never had asthma, but one of my cousins did. But enough talk. Have at you!"
With that, Katelynn rushes at Benkei as soon as he's done with his inhaler, and then attempts to grab him and put him on the ground with a simple over-the-shoulder throw.

Benkei is grabbed, then thrown over Katelynn's shoulder to the ground. He flies over the shoulder in a flailing of limbs, landing right on his upper back and bouncing away, landing on his side. "Uhhh, I'm dizzy!" he moans, before stumbling back to his feet. "That's it, lady! I'm gonna cream ya!" His hands glow, and he rushes forward, sweating from the heat the comes from his chi and seeks to burn Katelynn with in a flurry of punches.

Watching Benkei land, Katelynn smirks and says, "At least I didn't throw you up... erm, throw up on you!" She then steps back, waiting for her opponent to stand up and prepare his next attack. When he starts to get angry, Katelynn only shakes her head.
"Tsk tsk, impatience and rage will get you nowhere." Katelynn says while shaking her finger, before ducking underneath the incoming punches. But she's not done down there just yet. She attempts to deliver a swift foot sweep, only to suddenly pause, shift her original foot back, and then perform another sweep, this time actually going for the feet while hoping the original sweep tricked her opponent.

Benkei Bunya doesn't fall for the feint, and instead perfectly dodges the second sweep with a quick hop. "You can't fool Benkei Bunya! I've got an IQ of over NINE THOUSAND!" His hands glow with chi, before he puts them together in hadoken position and launches a flaming chi skull that roars with heat, the nearby air warping around the projectile.

"An IQ over over nine thousand?" Katelynn asks, slightly annoyed that her favorite attack didn't strike her target. "Give me a break!" She's seen people like this before, and it really annoys her big time. She gets back into her fighting stance, only to have her jaw hang open for a second as she sees the flaming skull coming at her. Almost immediately, she mutters a bad word under her breath, before getting into her defensive stance.
Unfortunately, her defense is a little off, and the skull strikes her square in the chest, knocking her back onto the ground again, causing not only a major case of having the wind knocked out of her, but also leaving a serious burn.
"You're... gonna regret that..." Katelynn says in between gasps for air, now finding her sore ankle is hurting even more than before as she tries to do a kippup to get back onto her feet. She can't quite do it, though, and instead is forced to get onto all fours and then onto her feet again. Slumped over slightly, Katelynn shows signs of being worn down. "You're doing well, but I'm not done yet!" With that, Katelynn comes at Benkei and attempts a swift snap kick with another cry of "KIAI!"

Benkei gets kicked in the ribs, and doubles over in pain. "Auwghk! That hurt!" he sobs, tears welling up in his slanted little eyes. Suddenly, his face changes to a look of rage as he attempts to spear tackle Katie to the ground with a shoulder to her stomach. "Don't make me angry!" he wails in a high pitched shriek.

Watching her opponent double over, Katelynn pulls back into her fighting stance, albeit still looking very worn out. "Hey, anger isn't the way to win a fight! You've got to keep focused!" And when Benkei comes at Katelynn, she adds, "Using your anger to fuel your fight isn't going to work. It'll only--"
Katelynn's words are cut off as she's grabbed and tossed to the ground. "Owww!" She cries out, apparently now having a bad back to contend with also. "Dammit, this isn't looking good!" The Karate fighter says, trying to not let the pain keep her down. As she tries to get up, she finds her arm is really killing her now, almost like it might be sprained. It shows in her fighting stance as well, as one arm hangs limply beside her.
"OK, so maybe your anger worked that time, but I'm done playing around," Katelynn says, the annoyance now showing in her voice. "Let's see how ya like this!" And with that, Katelynn brings both of her fists back and closes her eyes. The chi starts to form around her fists, glowing more and more with every moment. And then, with a yell, Katelynn sends a larger sphere of energy at Benkei, this one going faster and bigger.

Benkei summons golden chi with his hands, and puts them between him and the big projectile of chi. "Noooo! NOT THIS WAY!" he cries, as he pushes some of the chi aside. Ultimately, however, his efforts are in vain, and he's knocked onto his back. He cries a little as he lays there, looking pathetic. At least he tried!

Katelynn shakes her head at Benkei. "Good fight, but it looks like you lost this time." She smiles a little. "But with every loss you have, you still win in the sense that you've learned something new about your abilities, as well as meeting a new opponent sometimes." She then slumps over again, very much out of strength. The crowd does cheer, although some of them boo, more in favor of the underdog Benkei. The weakened Katelynn turns and gives a bow to Benkei before heading off to get some treatment.
