Kaida - Kaida Hits A Blind Girl With A Stick

Description:

"Test Test, three four three, test test alpha."

A bespectled man in a ash-black stood up on top of the abandoned home that sat across from the hospital, toying with a small sattelite dish. He was muttering to a small walkie talkie. At the base of the building, just across the street, a smug looking American in a pony-tail was looking up, holding another walkie talkie. "Just talk normal, Rob, you sound like a freakin' tool." "But Miss Black said-" "Georgette is a freakin' tool. Just ignore her. I heard the boss is pissed at her anyways, especially what happened to that crippled babe." "Alpha we really need to focus on-" "Let me ask, you think she wouldn't mind a little big man in her life? I mean, come on, her brainwashing shouldn't be that hard to tweak, you know?"

Inside the building, a smaller team of a short greasy man and a chubby asian woman were fiddling with a small communication station. Positioned an apartment on the first floor, they were trying to get an uplink to the main G-Project satellite... with little avail. The woman lifts up a walkie talkie in time to hear the banter of Alpha suggestion. "Shut -up- Alpha. I'll report you to Miss Black later. Alpha, make sure the satellite is out of sight. Beta, adjust it three degrees to the south." Muttering a curse under her breath, she stared at the small computer screen that Delta was typing into. The hospital was an important sight for G-Project. A prime location for organ harvesting, kidnapping, and of course medical information, setting up a watchpost right outside the site meant they could get leads on potential genetic matches to the project. But stealth was important. As long as Southtown was in chaos, they had to get together their safe houses. And-

"Epsilon, I'm thirsty."

Raoghnailt sat in a chair, facing towards the opposite direction of both Delta and Epsilon. The woman turns around, scowling at the girl. The cripple. They were informed that the girl had extraordinary abilities of 'aura sight,' and would use her for 'security.' So far, all she did was mention that birds were flying by, talk about how wonderful birds were, and that she was thirsty. It was like babysitting a four year old. Sighing, she walked over to a small gallon jug of filtered water. Lifting an empty plastic cup off the ground, she begins pouring a glass for the red head. "Fine. Just a second."

Amidst the destruction people still had to live. Even if Southtown might have looked like an urban wasteland people could still be found, trying not to eek out a life but simply survive the chaos until it returned to normality or someone found a way out- whichever came first. Down the streets of Southtown Village walks Kaida, a teenager with no particular attachment to the city. It had been where she lived for several years now, but to her it was not home. A pity that it came to this, but aside from the indignity of coming under attack she felt no special loss over the destruction.

What does bother her is the fact she can't find her parents. Her father, she assumes, is perfectly safe, and most certainly with him would be her mother. Certainly protected by her dad, but personally untrained in any sort of martial art or self defense- something she feels is practically necessary in a situation like the one they're caught in. So she endeavors to find her parents and make sure they're all right, which means exploring and asking questions.

This search brings her to the home near the hospital, which to her eyes looks like a prime candidate for a hideout. As for the guy in the suit on the radio? She doesn't even seem to notice him. Paying no attention to anything she may or may not overhear on the radio she just goes straight for the front door and tries to walk right in. Who cares if someone is using it? She needs to search it and that's all there is to it.

Raoghnailt twitches. She felt something... bright. Shining. It was still dim, but it was approaching. She could feel the twinges of power. Some sort of fighter. "Epsilon, someone is coming." The Scottish woman trills as the G-Project flunkie approaches with the water. Raoghnailt lifts a finger up, pointing in the general direction of where Kaida was approaching. As Kadia came closer and closer, Raoghnailt rose up. She was instructed to protect her family from attackers. And so far, this seemed like an attacker. "Hold it, hold it, let Alpha take care of it, hold it." Epsilon rose her arm up. Apparently, Alpha wasn't doing his other job: Keeping watch. Again. "Alpha, come in. There is an intruder approaching the grounds. I want you to stop him, and try to get him to leave. To not raise suspicion on the operation, you hear me? Just ask him politely what he wants, and try to get him out of here. If they are violent..." She looks back over to Raoghnailt, who grins broadly. "You know what to do. Got it, Alpha?"

"Alpha, do you read me?"

Alpha heard her, all right. He heard her when she made the threat to report him. Screw her. Screw them all. And screw backing down. He saw the girl coming towards the door. Swishing his pony-tail back and forth, he stomped towards the strange girl who was trying to sneak inside the building. "Hey, sugar!" He snaps, attempting to grab the girl by the upper arm. Should he get a grip, he would twist HARD, and try to jerk her back. "What the HELL are you doing here?"

It seems that for the most part she's going to be left alone. That suits her, as all she wants is to make a fast sweep through the house and find out of her parents are there and then move on if they aren't. Unfortunately trouble comes quickly, and just as she's reaching for the door handle she feels something gripping onto her arm. "Wha- Aah! Hey, that hurts!" Yelled at, grabbed, and having her arm twisted enough to cause a wicked jolt of pain tearing through her shoulder Kaida does the first thing that comes to mind. Her other arm jerks upwards behind her as she attempts to plant her elbow firmly into the bottom of the rough mans jaw, hopefully hard enough to stun him long enough to yank her arm free.

And whether it succeeds or not she begins an immediate counter-interrogation, yelling back loudly enough to attract a lot of attention should there be anyone around to take notice. "What's the big idea? I just want to take a look around! There's no reason to treat me like this you asshole!"

Epsilon sighs loudly, burying her face in her hands. Raoghnailt, though not able to see the reaction, could sense that something was wrong. The dull light of Alpha met with the pale aura, and they were... sparring. Raoghnailt could clearly reason that they were in some sort of fight. Plus, she heard Alpha shouting, and now the girl shouting. Elegantly, Raoghnailt stood up from her chair. Bringing her cane out in front of her, she began sweeping the grounds. Navigating the room was difficult, and it would be slow.

But already, the tell-tale sound of 'tap tap tapping' was emerging from the building.

Meanwhile, Alpha staggered back, stunned by the sharp elbow jab. He was furious now. He didn't think she had such a nasty right hook. And from such a little girl too... Beta was probably laughing at him right now. That did. Alpha was going to show this girl her place. "You little BITCH!" The pony-tailed man cried as he wound back a meaty fist. With a single, wild punch, he attempted to slug Kaida right in the jaw. And just keep punching her.

Just to prove how much of a man he was.

The tapping is at he moment the least of Kaidas worries. Her first priority is rolling her shoulder to get the sharp pain out of it, quickly followed up by making sure this angry man in a suit doesn't cause any further bodily harm. It's when he yells at her again and starts up the swearing that she realizes she isn't going to get herself out of this so easily. What a pain in the ass. She could have to deal with /real/ trouble any second and now she has to spend energy on a jerk like this.

As he comes forward with his punch she retreats backwards a single step, hand dropping down to her belt where her trusty bokken lie, a fact he may have missed in his rush to stop her from entering the building. The fist narrowly misses her face, giving her just enough time to draw her sword and lift it high before coming down with a single diagonal chop, trying to end this quickly with a powerful strike at the base of his neck. "Yaah!" A trained swordswoman the move is elegant and efficient- though if it isn't enough to take him down her face is likely going to end up mashed repeatedly with his fists.

Alpha didn't notice the weapons until it was too late. He was more focused on a little, easily beaten victim of his own self-assured rage. His fist goes wild, and his body follows it. The sword smashes into his neck, and a sharp gurgle come from his throat. Alpha goes down, collapsing to the ground with a simple motion. Typical mook. All style, no substance.

Meanwhile, the tapping grows louder and louder.

From the depths of the building, a tall, blindfolded woman emerges from the front door, her seeing-eye cane gingerly sweeping around. She seems to be amible, though a grim light seems to have passed over her face. She could feel Alpha collapsed on the ground. Another member of the family, hurt by a stranger. An enemy. "Excuse me." Raoghnailt curtly barked with a light Scottish air. "But you are trespassing. Please leave, before I have to..." The woman purses her lips, taking a tiny baby step out of the door. She was judging this figure, this girl. She seemed more powerful than the others. She might be an agent. A spy. "I have to hurt you."

And like that, she draw her cane back. Placing both hands on top the base, she leans on it for support. And quietly, she faces ahead, her features not changing. Alpha groans lightly, but otherwise doesn't move.

Your move, Kaida.

Kaida lets out a soft sigh when the man goes down. That was easier than she expected. One hit takedowns like that don't usually work on people with proper fighting skill. But that, she realizes, means the man down there on the ground probably didn't have much of that in the first place. Oh well, that's no skin off her nose.

Tapping- someone else inside. She turns around just in time to see a figure come from the door, standing tall with pale freckled skin and flaming red hair. Oh yes, and a blindfold and cane. She stares for a short moment, taking the young woman in. Including her fashion. Oh, my. "Trespassing?" Kaida looks upwards, studying the building for a moment, and then shaking her head. "I don't think so." She looks at the man again, and now this poor blind girl. "You won't have to hurt me. I just want to take look around inside. I'll only be a minute or two- I'm looking for my parents." She could just ask if she had seen them but- well, that doesn't work on many levels. Most important of which is that she seems somehow affiliated with the guy who just tried to hurt her seemingly out of nowhere- she doesn't trust people like that.

She gives a light shrug then, holding her bokken in her hand simply for the fact that she hasn't sheathed it yet. "Sorry, I'm not going to go until I've had a look inside."

Looking for her parents. Her heart softened for a moment. This poor girl was probably trying to find her mother and her father. Raoghnailt understood how important one's family was. Though no one was in the building, other than G-Project. That was taken care of covertly. For a moment, Raoghnailt was prepared to explain the situation, and how her parents were almost certainly not there.

Then she remembers her run in with the Shadaloo dolls. Child soldiers, warped to follow the orders of their cruel dictators. The kind of monsters they were, twisting what was likely kidnapped victims into weapons. Warriors. There was a member of Raoghnailt's family, struck down by this... girl. She didn't ask if she knew whether or not her family was in there. Kaida was asking to 'peek around.' Like a spy. Raoghnailt trembled a bit, seemingly sucking in her lips a bit. Finally, she answers with a cold, seething rasp.

"...Liar."

Raoghnailt erupts in a pale bluish light, filling the street with a luminous glow. The woman's hair begins to dance as the raw energy flows around her. Great tendrils began to whip out more and more, flaring outwards with a brighter and brighter intensity. Raoghnailt could have drawn them back in. But no. She was going to let them flare, even though it would cripple her powers a bit.

As the glare of the energy began to consume her form, Raoghnailt put out her left hand. Slowly, she began to seemingly draw something in the air. It almost seems like a symbol, before the intensity of the light simply covers the form of Raoghnailt. Only a dim silhouette of Raoghnailt's frame can be seen. The light is blinding now, making it for those without sight protection quite difficult to see.

But for Raoghnailt, she sees her target clearly.

Something erupts from the depths of the bright pillar of blinding light, hurtling towards Kaida. The glare seems to flare one last great time...

Lair? What? Kaida is at first very annoyed with that proclamation, that showing quickly and obviously on her face. But after a moment she realizes that it's not a hard assumption to make. How can you trust anyone when everything has been turned upside down like this? But then... this woman does seem to have something to do with that man, so maybe she's the one who should be suspicious. An impasse. She begins to think she's going to have to choose between just making her way past and moving on.

She doesn't like the idea of just barging in, but then if she leaves a stone unturned and that is where her parents are... no, if you're going to do something do it right. That includes a search. Suddenly, the option of leaving before anything else bad happens is snuffed out entirely.

"Huh?" The word comes half a moment before the pale light begins to glow around Raoghnailt. Then a flinch as the energy flares to life and continues building upon itself. A frown from Kaida. This is no ordinary blind girl. Any thought that moving past her would be any sort of easy task is firmly out of her mind- she is nothing like that rough, stupid man she dealt with a moment ago.

She's forced to squint as the light reaches incredible intensity, but within the brightness she sees the shadowy form within hold out it's arm. It's doing something. And with the energy building up more... it's not hard to guess what's going to happen next. Kaida doesn't understand the methodology of what's happening, but she realizes perfectly that Raoghnailt is attempting to assault her with energy. That, she tells herself, is something she can deal with.

The tip of her sword drops low to the ground and she twists around in a fast spin, lifting the weapon as she does and causing it to swipe through the air in the shape of a helix. After a full spin the sword smashes into the incoming energy and, incredibly, diverts it entirely, sending the energy back to it's maker as the green haired swordswoman lets out a cry of, "Spiral Blade!" The follow through is another full rotation, sword raised high in the air as she comes to a stop. Time to see how her handiwork turns out- she'll think about how to move forward from there.

From the depths of the pillar of chi, Raoghnailt finished the pattern. Tapping into her aura, she drew forth the waves of energy. Sealing it in the air, she simply smashed her palm against the light. And from the symbol, several thin beams explode out towards the offending girl.

But something happens.

The energy makes contact with the aura, but doesn't cut through it, no. It seems to rebound, reflecting back towards the girl. As the blinding glare dies down from around Raoghnailt, her own beams are slapped back towards her. There is one last flash, and the bright pillar of energy seems to collapse back into the girl, causing her form to glow with a white light. And there, Raoghnailt stands, her arms open wide, a cane held broadly, almost openly accepting the blast.

When the beams close in on Raoghnailt, she reaches her hand out towards the beams. The energy tears into her hand, but raw chi is like that. Carefully, she guided around herself, letting the force twist and weave around her. What came from her aura, would be brought back in. The volatile energy is painful to draw back in, and Raoghnailt flinches as she absorbs it back in. But it returns, and like that, she absorbs the energy.

Quietly, she stands there, her element of surprise blown. Closing her left hand upon her cane, she takes a long, deep breath. Kaida was powerful, that was clear. And her use of chi... indicated a similar synergy as Raoghnailt. She releases her hand, and begins to sweep it along the ground. Slowly, she approached Kaida, her cane gradually beginning to glow with it's own ethereal light. "You are interesting." She exclaims with a light air of curiosity. "Where do you come from?" She continues as she continues to approach at a slow, steady pace.

COMBATSYS: Raoghnailt takes no action.

"I come from here. I live in this city. I'm Japanese." Kaida's response comes quickly and simply, her voice sounding just a tad indignant, as if the question was somehow slightly offensive. "Why, where do you come from?" The green haired teenager is left at a bit of a loss after this. On one hand she isn't being outright attacked. On the other the fact that the cane begins to glow means that this encounter isn't likely to be over just yet. As Raoghnailt steps forward she begins to back away, appreciating the distance between them and not entirely keen on allowing it to be closed just yet- not when she's confused about the situation still.

Her sword is held up in a fairly defensive manner, remaining passive still and deciding to for the moment simply react to whatever the Scottish woman might have in store for her rather than to commit to an attack herself. Only one attack has been made, after all, so there may be some hope of keeping this from escalating further. Besides, she doesn't want to fight a blind girl if she can help it.

"Look, I don't know what's going on here but I just want to see if my parents are inside, that's all. You can follow me around if you're that worried. I don't want to fight you if I can help it. I'm sure we both have bigger problems than each other, so lets just stop this before it gets any worse, alright?" Truth be told she doesn't expect diplomacy to work, but if it does failed she can at least say she tried. Time to keep an eye on that cane.

COMBATSYS: Kaida focuses on her next action.

"Your parents don't exist." Raoghnailt says softly, shaking her head. As the figure of Kaida became more clear, the cane swept up to her side. By now, it was flaring with the same light that was boiling around Raoghnailt's frame. Trailing with vague blurs of dim light, she continued with her soft, serious tones. "Or they did, once. I don't know where they are now. I only feel sorry for what your masters did to separate you both." Raoghnailt somehow softens at the end, dipping into some heartfelt remorse. Kaida was sick. And in that was the sadness.

Raoghnailt doesn't hold a serious form, either in offense or defense. In fact, she is rather open, filled with holes and weak points across her stance. Of course, the aura may in fact be tied to her form, but physically speaking, she didn't seem to have a trained martial art. With a swift motion, she winds the cane across her body to her left side. Spreading her legs as far as her muumuu will allow, she gives a sort of half lunge into a backhand. The cane swishes through the air, leaving a bright trail of light that lingers for second or two. Raoghnailt was attempting to hack her weapon across the center of Kaida's aura, aiming for center of mass. Should the cane make contact, the actual tool itself might leave a welt. More dangerous was the energy coursing around it. The pure chi could cut to the bone, and give a normally innocent weapon a dangerous edge.

"Oh god," Kaida says with a bit of a groan. "You're not completely out of your mind are you?" She gives a small shake of her head, "Look, I don't know who you are, but you don't know anything about me. I have one 'master', and that's my father himself. Stop making things up and thinking they're true." Wearing a blindfold and walking with a cane like a blind person would, wielding some extraordinary energy. And now this. It all adds up in her mind that something is Not Right with this person in front of her.

But for the moment she's going to have to set that to the side. Because right now she's under attack once more. The attack itself is a bit easier for her to deal with- a backhanded slash, albeit coated with some nasty energy. She swings her sword up to meet it and the two collide, a loud clacking sound emanating from the point of impact, jarring her arms. A parry, simple and effective. The strength of the blow removed she twists her sword away, spinning to the side herself and dashing forward to try and move past.

She can't afford to be passive any longer. That means it's time to attack. She whirls back around once past, gripping her sword with both hands and lashing out with a powerful swipe of her wooden sword, letting out a sharp kiai as the dull 'blade' of the weapon heads directly for the tall young womans temple.

"No. I am not crazy. But I know you hurt my family. So I can't believe anything you say."

As she swipes, Raoghnailt easily throws herself off balance. Drawing herself inward, she thinks quickly. She blocked with a tool. She was armed. And judging from her movements, she was going to attack... high. Jackknifing her cane, she brings it up high as she pushes her hand forward. The cane slows the attack somewhat, deflecting it towards her body. Raoghnailt gingerly twists her stance, stumbling as she shuffled her feet. That hurt, even with the blunting of the impact. But now, up close, she began feeling through the careful aura of her opponent. She could better sense the flow of her chi, and in that, feel for the various pathways. From there, she decides to... obstruct theme. With the other hand, she touches the wooden blade of the sword lightly... and delicately, she feels around for the arm attached to it.

Should Kaida fail to draw away quickly, Raoghnailt would attempt tap into the teenager's aura. She would clamp her index finger and her thumb upon the wrist of the girl, and simply twist around slightly. To cripple the limbs would be the most pragmatic. Once she began applying pressure, she would draw her thick, pale kinetic force to the surface. Disrupting the inner flow, it would be like a small blown casket, erupting in a small explosion in tandem with the twist.

And other facet of Raoghnailt's talents come to surface as well.

The sword meets the cane again, this time to Raoghnailts advantage rather than Kaidas. Darn, she was hoping to get a nice powerful hit off like that while she had the chance. And before she can do terribly much to recover from the swing there's a hand on her sword, and then on her arm. Shoot.

She tries to draw back immediately and jerk her arm out of the grip. The sharp motion, however, sends a jolt of pain through her shoulder, aggravating the injury of the harsh twist given to it earlier, hurting badly enough that the strength in her arm dies instantly. Next up comes insult to the injury, her arm being twisted around further before her own chi is drawn forth and detonated. "Agh!" She jerks again, finally managing to break free only after the damage was done. Instantly her other hand goes to her wrist and holds it, the arm trembling a little. She's used to withstanding pain, but that was- it was very strange.

"You don't fight like anyone I've ever met..." she comments, chiding herself at leaving such a gap in her defense. "I guess I can't take you lightly at all, can I?" Nursing her wrist for the moment she switches her sword into her off hand, stabbing forward with it in a feint before lunging forward and sending a fast kick forward with the heel of her foot towards Raoghnailts stomach.

Raoghnailt continues to hold steady, finding her position to be somewhat... useful. As Kaida recoils, she feels the chi out of alignment. In a way, she created her own weak point. And as she compliments Raoghnailt's technique... she could help but blush a bit. "Well, I haven't met someone lik- Hey!"

Feints work weird with Raoghnailt. All she saw was that Kaida was barreling in. Spreading her legs apart, Raoghnailt responded with a technique that she was taught by, well, Beta: Just endure it. Standing fast, she allowed herself to be struck- in the stomach, yes! Grunting painfully, she slowly wound up her body... and counter-attacked.

With her left hand, she swept her hand towards the head of the teenager. The same flesh-tearing light erupted, giving her an extra edge as she tried to claw apart her aura. Following after it was her cane, sweeping in low and lifting up. A complicated attack, and a bit slow coming out. She had chosen to stay in close quarters for the attack, allowing herself to take a hit in order to set up for the next attack.

Hopefully, the consequences wouldn't be too awful.

Kaida            1/-------/=======|======-\-------\0       Raoghnailt

Kaida watches awkwardly at the blush, wondering what that could possibly be from. Her simple statement? Probably not. Why then? It just... doesn't make sense. Pushing it out of her mind she feels some amount of vindication as her foot crashes into Raoghnailts stomach. A moment later she realizes that everything isn't as it appears. She /let/ herself get hit, and now she's preparing to take advantage of the fact she's left standing on one foot. Sneaky!

But the wind up for the counterattack- she sees it, and begins to respond herself, pulling her sword back behind her and reaching over to grip it with her other hand. The weapon flares to life with white chi, but before she can bring it forward a hand comes forward and smacks her in the head, dizzying her, and then the cane smashes into her. She's all but 'blown away' by the one-two combination, knocked clear and then unable to regain her balance, stumbling and falling hard to the ground, head making a loud rapping noise against the sidewalk.

"Ahhh..." A moment later she regains control of herself, sitting up and then slowly pushing herself to her feet. "What's wrong with me today..?"

Kaida was broken free from the improvised grapple, and enjoying the slash of energy. Raoghnailt struggles a bit, gingerly rubbing her abdomen. Hunching over slightly, she grimaces. That hurt. Raoghnaitl's aura continues to flicker and flare, as Raoghnailt takes a moment to recover. That was close. If it weren't for the energy, Kaida would have torn her apart with that... weapon.

"I don't know!" Raoghnailt exclaims, smiling a bit. Bringing her left hand around to her right arm, she delicately pinches a small flare of bluish-white chi between a forefinger and a thumb. "Maybe you know I'm right... but are too stubborn to run away!" The woman draws out the pale strip of energy, and for a moment, her own aura dies down a bit. Carefully, she begins weaving the strip into a small symbol in the air. There is no real syntax to the symbol, short of it spiraling into itself significantly. As Raoghnailt stops, it glows with a very dense light. Recoiling her free hand, she shuffles a bit. "Now begone!" She says curtly, tapping the back of her hand into the symbol. The symbol erupts in a thin beam of energy, exploding in a narrow spectrum straight for the center of Kaida's frame.

Kaida            1/------=/=======|======-\-------\0       Raoghnailt

As the blind girl comes up with an explanation Kaida feels very silly for saying anything at all. A light shake of her head, "No, that's definitely not it. I'm just... not focused enough on the task at hand." Straightening more she roughly brushes herself off, determined to make a new start in this battle.

The energy is... pinched? And woven into a symbol as well. The mechanics behind this frankly astound Kaida- she has no idea what form of chi use this could possibly be, but the fact that it is chi is enough for her. Yes, it's true. This is an energy attack, and she is quite capable of handling herself against pure energy- in more ways than one.

As the energy fires at her she quickly draws out her other sword, crossing the pair of them in front of herself, the beam striking them dead center in the X shape that they form. She's shunted backwards, feet sliding across the ground, but she remains standing. The pain is starting to add up, but for now she can continue to endure. The pain will become a focus. "So that's your game, is it? Hitting me with your cane and then flinging your chi at me from afar? Tough! Two can play at that game!" Stepping forward she swings a sword towards Raoghnailt, the weapon blazing with white energy that releases from it and launches forward towards her now-opponent, following up immediately with her second sword and producing a pair of blasts in a one-two combination. "Twin Moonlit Swords!"

Kaida            1/------=/=======|=======\-------\0       Raoghnailt

"Whenever I have trouble focusing, I think about birds." Raoghnailt begins, noticing that her energy did make contact. Instead of displacing and cutting through Kaida's aura, she once again deflects it. The dense forces that she kept inward were impressive. Speaking of trouble focusing. Raoghnailt felt a bit... woozy. Drained was the right word. While she her technique was indeed flashy and somewhat powerful, it was tiring. That combined with the bruise, she was feeling herself being slowed down. She needed to refocus her mind.

Thinking about a really big pelican, she sensed that Kaida was bringing her own riposte to the mix. With the image of that pelican from Finding Nemo scooping up a clownfish, Raoghnailt releases her cane. Letting it dangle from the small strap around her wrist, she drives both of her hands into the waves of energy. The initial impact tears small cuts into her palms and the backs of her hand, but then her frame erupts in a stable glow. Raoghnailt tears apart the chi blast with both of her hands, the white energy diffusing once her own aura overwhelms it.

"You shouldn't play that game, um... what is your name again?" The white chi from the blast swirls around Raoghnailt, dispersing across the aether as the glow seems to sink back into the Scottish woman. The effects were almost barely noticeable, if it were for those cuts on the hand. The blood began to clot quickly, then scab over. The bruises against her body softened, and the exhaustion began to fade away. Consuming her own aura, she was healing herself slightly, though not significantly. As the effects took place. Raoghnailt stood, adjusting her blindfold a bit with her left hand as she regained her grip on her cane. "Oh well, you shouldn't play that game. I'm much better at it. Do you have sticks? I can't tell what kind of weapons you are using."

Raoghnailt experience in the battlefield was revealing itself, once again.

COMBATSYS: Raoghnailt gains composure.

Kaida            1/------=/=======|======-\-------\0       Raoghnailt

"Good for you," Kaida states rather coldly, finding the idiosyncrasies of this woman more and more annoying with each passing moment. So casually she fought, as if it held nothing on the line for her. That alone wouldn't be a problem, but the fact of the matter was she was keeping Kaida from doing something she felt needed to be done- and was thrashing her in the process. It's an age old problem, that when someone is beating you things that might be pitiable or charming become aggravating and annoying.

But though she is annoyed Kaida is not yet driven to insanity. No, she just watches calmly as her chi blasts are reached for and torn asunder by the power that surrounds the woman in front of her. "I'm not telling you my name," she states then- telling the 'enemy' your name is a bad idea right? "And don't be so sure. Yes, I have made mistakes and you have not... but that simply means that your mistakes are still to come!"

Raoghnailt would see that white aura flare up again, this time much more brightly than it had before. The energy pours into her bokken, which shine brightly from the chi now contained within them, the girl charging forward. "You won't stop me this time!" The attack itself is simple but devastating, her swords swung powerfully one after another in rapid succession, each potential impact resulting in an explosion of that white energy. After six swings both her arms rear back and then lash out at the same time, a final burst of chi charging the blades and resulting in an explosion that could knock Raoghnailt clean away if she isn't careful.

COMBATSYS: Kaida successfully hits Raoghnailt with Fury Blades.

Raoghnailt was still recovering a bit when Kaida charges in. Raoghnailt senses the build up of chi, and understands that whatever Kaida was doing... it was aggressive. Raoghnailt doesn't handle aggressive very well. As Kaida closes in, Raoghnailt waves her hand in front of her... and takes a step back.

Raoghnailt's aura expands to what could safely be called her personal space bubble. Turning a smooth, solid light, Kaida passes through it harmlessly. The effects of the ethereal field, however, however, are more than just subtle. The chi that enveloped Kaida's bokken was being drawn away, diffusing the energy away. Kaida's own movements were as if they were through a some thick material fog, slowing the swipes down slightly as they were unleashed. Instinctively, Raoghnailt swept her arms and her cane up, trying to block the furiously swiping aura.

Despite the diffusion and the aura slowing down, Raoghnailt simply is unable to keep up with Kaida. She partially deflects the first strike with her cane, but the effort throws her off balance. The explosions of chi are blunted, but the impacts from the sword are more than effective. Raoghnailt just yelps in pain as she is slowly driven back, the blows pummeling her relatively fragile frame. When the final blow comes, Raoghnailt is knocked backwards... but not flying. The blast diffuses in the strange aura, weakened a bit. The Scottish woman staggers her weight on her cane, and gasps for air.

"Ouch! That... that hurt! Ouch ouch ou- ouch..." Raoghnailt mutters at the end, rubbing her chest. "Oh, you are going to get now, you little... oh.... uh... whelp! Aye! Ya whelp!" She doesn't push her posture upright when she brings her other hand up. Hunched over, she sticks a finger out. Slowly, she begins to draw. A pale, bright line erupts in the air where she paints, and she carefully begins to weave a pattern. In fact, a Gaelic pattern, much like what was found in the Medieval texts, old Celtic artwork... and faux Celtic artwork. She begins to pick up the speed of the work, and gradually, it flares with greater intensity....

COMBATSYS: Raoghnailt focuses on her next action.

The 'fog' of chi proves to be a hindrance, but nothing that Kaida can't work through, following through on her attacks despite the energetic interference. The fact that she managed to hit her hard enough to knock her back is a definite confidence builder, something she needed quite a bit after having been knocked around rather badly herself. It doesn't do much for ones ego to realize you're being beaten up by a blind girl and her cane. But now that she's managed to hit hard the young swordswoman is starting to feel like she can turn this battle around.

"Call me whatever you want, it won't make a difference," she responds, hands tightly gripping to the hilts of her paired wooden swords. Her eyes narrow a little when the drawing begins, remembering what happened the last time Raoghnailt did that. As she lifts her swords she realizes that nothing immediately is happening. Fine, that means initiative goes to her. "Hesitation is weakness!" she shouts, rushing up to the Scottish woman and quickly making up the distance she knocked her back, one weapon held up defensively as the other is pulled back in preparation to strike, a hard slash going straight for that 'drawing' hand as she steps to the side and then whirls herself about, swinging her second sword in a horizontal arc aimed directly at her shoulder joint. "Kyah!"

COMBATSYS: Raoghnailt interrupts Power Strike from Kaida with Luminiferous Flash.

Raoghnailt tries hard to balance her attentions between her symbol and her opponent. Oh, Kaida might be furious that she is being beaten up by a blind girl. On the other hand, the blind girl was unleashing waves of pure chi, which might save one's ego a bit. After all, she was demonstrating mystical powers well beyond what a normal -fighter- would have.
%RAs Kaida closes the woman, she again enters the etheral fog, giving her an extra bit of drag. Raoghnailt could sense her position, and her speed was met in turn by the quickening of the pattern. By the time Kaida reaches her, the circular pattern is roughly four feet, with a great cross in the center of it. The sword slams through the seal, and at that moment Kaida may realize something is wrong. Raoghnailt squeaks as the stick strikes her finger solidly, causing her to recoil. And as the weapon continues through the chi-based symbol...

The sword is frozen in place.

The symbol's turns into a dense dim glow as Raoghnailt recoils her drawing hand. "No. Weakness is being weak... and that... and that's it!" She releases the cane from her unharmed hand, and lets it dangle from a strap at her wrist. Kaida wasn't going anywhere. The seal was locked in place now, the dense chi like thick tar to anything that crossed it's path. And yet, she was interrupted too early. By the time she brings her hand across the seal, the energies begin to fade. The moment her fingernails rake the surface of the symbol, though it explodes.

A massive beam consumes Kaida, tearing her from the seal. The pale white light simply acts as raw force, trying to blast her away from Raoghnailt... and towards the hospital. After about 30 feet, the beam diffuses, weakening significantly. Raoghnailt herself just stands there, her arm outstretched, her brow furrowed. She brings her struck hand up, and rubs it against her face. "I'm... I'm bleeding! You cut me!" She explains, sounding quite shocked.

The sad thing is that she was.

Kaida is left trying to free herself from the symbol as the sword sticks in side of it, realizing that she's in a damn lot of trouble. She ends up hurting her shoulder a fair bit with how hard she's yanking, throwing the entirety of her body weight away from it. Unfortunately it's just not possible- it's as if the wooden sword was stuck in wet cement that had been allowed to dry overnight. Perhaps some fighters have the strength of either body or energy to pull it free, but she is not one of them.

And so the massive beam of energy launches her backwards when it fires, the immense force produced by the energy hammering at her, fraying the edges of her clothes, and indeed harming her in general all over. And that's just from being within the energy- nevermind that she's going very fast when she hits the ground, her damaged clothes tearing and allowing the street to scrape against her skin, the impacts themselves leaving nasty bruises as she rolls along the ground.

It's a moment before the green haired fighter has a chance to recover enough to begin picking herself up, her muscles straining to lift her weight back off the ground. She looks at Raoghnailt and clenches her teeth, and once to her feet simply... sighs. "This... isn't worth it. If my parents are in there and I have to come back I am going to be pissed, and I'm bringing help." With the city as turbulent as it is she can't risk any further harm to herself- you never know what could be just around the corner. She begins to hobble off slowly, putting her swords away as she goes.

COMBATSYS: Kaida takes no action.

Raoghnailt holds there, her arms spread open, waiting for the glimmer that was Kaida make her move. She rises up, she holds there... and then she begins growing dim. She was... retreating? Her words confirmed that. Still, Raoghnailt held there, arms wide, facing towards Kaida. It was time to be somewhat intimidating. She remembers Marz. She remembers what a good feint can do. And yet, Kaida limps away, slowly gettingfurther and further. Most other G-Project agents would have gone for the death blow.

Instead, Raoghnailt looks troubled.

Was she... was she really looking for her parents? The witch of G-Project felt sick to her stomach. Nervously, she shuffled backwards. "I'm... I... oh." She mutters. Kaida fades from her range, and Raoghnailt feels only her fellow G-Project agents. Kaida was a victim in this city. A victim of the Shadaloo monsters. She was... desperate and scared. Raoghnailt told herself that. Kaida was simply a scared little girl who panicked. And Raoghnailt... well, she almost killed the strange girl! Raoghnailt felt ashamed... until a thought entered her mind.

What she did was worth it.

The ends justify the means.

Slowly, the shame and the pain fades away. Raoghnailt was a savior. And sometimes, innocents made the mistake of attacking those who save them. And Kaida... Kaida simply made a mistake. Yes. She would be forgiven. Slowly, Raoghnailt regrips her cane. Tap, tap, tap. She turns around, approaching the downed male agent that started this whole mess. "Alpha, you stubborn goat. You are going to get it!" She coos, lowering herself down to the man.

COMBATSYS: Raoghnailt takes no action.
