Sagat - Marz vs Sagat

Description: Marz undergoes a mission for Shadaloo in Thailand... but she has to contend with the fact that there are TIGUHS on the prowl!

Marz didn't much relish the idea of being in Thailand. This country was an unwelcome reminder of some unfortunate events, but, still, there were a few last pieces of business which required closing, and for the most part... Marz exploited the fact that she's not the most well known face of Shadaloo. To recognize her, you have to really know your stuff!

She was particularly worried about the fact that there were... rumors. Sagat was probably somewhere in Thailand, if she had him pegged correctly in her mental map of fighters. And she knew for absolute certain that she had no chance of defeating him. But. No matter! She was only going to be here for a matter of hours. She was just dropping off a last payment in weaponry to one group, and collecting a large amount of money.

The jeep rumbles into place in the middle of the village, Marz sat next to the driver in her doll uniform. She seems pretty calm. And why shouldn't she be? What could possibly go wrong?!

The first hint that something is going to go wrong is that as the villagers see Marz entering in her jeep, they don't do what they normally do -- which is, silently go about their business and pray that they will not incur Shadaloo's wrath, outside of the occasional would-be hero who throws a bottle or spits a slur and ends up paying the price. No -- the people here see Marz and they scurry away, talking amongst themselves, their tones hushed, excited, scared.

By the time the jeep reaches the middle of the village, Marz' contact isn't there, and the whole village has gathered around in an informal circle to -- well, they're /watching/ her. Expectantly. As if they're waiting.

"It should not surprise me," comes a slow, deep voice from behind the jeep, "that these petty thugs were involved with Shadaloo." The voice speaks in English, but bears a thick Thai accent, causing some words to clip, some to slur, in a voice so deep that it distorts the words even further. Behind Marz is Sagat -- in one hand, one of the gunrunners she was to meet, in the other, a Kalashnikov held by the barrel, like a club.

Sagat hurls the unconscious gunrunner away like a ragdoll -- the crowd moves so he can land, roughly, on his head. "These dogs kept this village as if they were hostages," Sagat continues, advancing toward Marz. "No one will /ever/ subjugate /any/ of my people again." The giant kickboxer takes the AK-47 in two hands and snaps it in half, like a toy. "I have a message for Vega, little Doll," he says, his one eye glowering coldly, "and that is why you may yet survive this."

COMBATSYS: Sagat has started a fight here.

Marz holds up her hand as the driver starts to move... the fool. As though he would be anything more than a speedbump to the champion fighter. No. Unlike some members of Shadaloo... Marz did not like to throw away the lives of her subordinates needlessly. Instead, she opens the door of the jeep, and stands up, turning around to face Sagat with her arms by her side. She steps back neatly, and gives a little bow. Her gaze following the flung gunrunner, before coming to rest on the one-eyed warrior again.

"Your generosity is most appreciated." She says, smoothly. Eyes sparkling as she takes in her enemy. Noting distance, form, emotional state... "I will, of course, be very willing to deliver your message for you." And then she smiles, brightly. Though she still -sounds- distant. As though she wasn't really engaging with the situation. "Unless of course you would like to see Lord Vega personally. I would be honored to guide you home. You know you are welcome, there is no reason we need to be enemies."

A lie, of course. She didn't really -know- what Vega would do the traitor. But she knew he wouldn't mind getting his hands on him, in all probability.

COMBATSYS: Marz focuses on her next action.

"/Vega/," Sagat says, rumbling the word as if it were a horrible slur, "can come -- to see -- /me/." The giant Thai continues lumbering forward, his impossibly dense musculature flexing with every step, tugging at the giant, hideous scar that slashes up his torso. "If he has the guts, that is."

Sagat stops in front of Marz, staring down at the girl. "So you are one of his famous assassins," he says, face twisted into a deep frown, made all the more exaggerated by how age has eroded deep crevices into Sagat's features. "One of his brainwashed pets. I feel insulted that I will be expending this energy on someone less than human."

Sagat suddenly snaps a fist forward, the giant knuckles sailing right for Marz' head!

COMBATSYS: Marz blocks Sagat's Jab Punch.

Marz steps back smoothly, and turns. Realizing that she has no real chance of completely evading the blow, instead she turns and raises her arm, the blow slams into her forearm, and knocks her back a further step. Exhaling slowly, she gives a sharp nod. "You may call me Marz." She states, "I do not believe we have had the pleasure of meeting, though your legend proceeds you. Is that the message?"

This, however, is said as she dances backwards, and throws her hand forward. A small purple orb shoots forwards as she jumps back, trying to put as much distance between her and him as possible, whilst the orb shoots out with pinpoint accuracy...

Marz, unfortunately, has no pity, and so the bright shock of power aims to slam into the masters throat. Hoping that the distraction of a conversation might buy her an opening...

COMBATSYS: Marz successfully hits Sagat with Psiball.

Sagat doesn't even try to get out of the way of the psi attack. With a cruel grin, he even lifts his chin up, as if daring the attack to strike him -- which it does, slamming into his throat. The fallen Emperor doesn't even flinch. He simply pauses a moment, before lowering his gaze again and laughing coldly. "Amusing," he says.

Sagat then slowly lumbers forward, his brutal smile remaining. He doesn't seem to be in any rush -- in fact, it might seem to some like he's enjoying the prospects of mauling Marz. "When I've delivered the message, little Doll," the giant says, "you will be quite aware of it. If you're aware of anything."

Sagat then lunges forward again, with a quickness that should not be in the possession of someone so big. He surges toward Marz, one leg bending, and a kneecap the size of her face sailing toward her chest!

COMBATSYS: Sagat knocks away Marz with Medium Kick!

Marz had, of course, examined all the data on Sagat she could find. She would have been stupid not to. One day, she was almost certainly going to wind up going after him with the other dolls. Or, well. Something like this was going to happen. But all the study in the world can't prepare you for that sudden, incredible speed.

Marz's eyes go momentarily wider. She'd positioned herself as best as she possibly could! How on earth had--

The blow slams into her chest, and the girl goes sailing backwards. She hits the ground a long way off... and slowly picks herself back up. Holding her stomach, she exhales slowly. She had ... no chance. But she wasn't going to give up just yet. Instead, she nods, and tucks her hair back behind her ear.

"I will remain quite coherent, I promise you." She states, calmly. Doing an admirable job of keeping that pain out of her voice. "Please. That was impressive. Come at me again, I wish to see what else you can do."

COMBATSYS: Marz gains composure.

"Do you, now," Sagat says with a cold chuckle. "I'd forgotten how like... robots you little freaks could be." After slamming away the Doll like a pinball, Sagat resumes his slow stalk, like a tiger closing in on prey it's already drawn blood from, following and biding its time. "But if you'd like a demonstration of technique -- I can oblige. Heh. Ha ha."

Sagat stops in his tracks and bends his torso back, swinging his arms out. They remain like this, a flexing cruciform, for a long second, veins popping, Sagat's scar glowing as his chi builds. "Heh." Then, with that same quickness that marked his knee strike, Sagat's arms swoop inward, fists smashing together with bone-shattering force, causing an orange cresent of chi to ripple outward, spinning toward Marz!

"TIGUH!"

COMBATSYS: Marz endures Sagat's Tiger Shot.

Marz's expression flickers with annoyance at that. "I am not a robot, thank you." She says, "Please mock me after you have beaten me."

That said, she throws herself forwards at the attack. She could not, after all, realistically hope to get out of the way of the attack.

The energy, however, is too much. It burns across her, and she lets out a high-pitched scream. Torn from her before she could really hope to stop it, somehow, she finds the momentum to carry on...

But it might not exactly look like that, as she slides in low in a baseball-slide, intending to come to a full stop at Sagat's feet.

And then, with the last of her willpower, she twists herself around and up, aiming to bring her foot in sharp contact with his chest!

COMBATSYS: Marz can no longer fight.

Twisting seems to be the order of the day! As she twists around twice more, and then twists up and around, to kick the Muay Thai champion in the chin. Unfortunately... that seems to be about all that Marz has it in her to do, as she comes around, and... completely fails to land elegantly. She sprawls to the floor, charred and beaten.

At least she seems to see the funny side, as, after she fails to force herself back up to her sheet on shaking hands, she manages to out, weakly.

"Alright... you can mock me now... ouch."

Seeing the devastation he has wrought, Sagat again does not even mount a defense -- he simply lets Marz collide with him. However, he didn't count on her being quite so forceful with it -- the giant is staggered, falling backward, against Marz' jeep, wiping a trickle of blood from where the attack has split one of his large lips. "Heh," he says, that small smile returning as he lurches back to his feet.

Standing over Marz, blotting out the hot sun with his titanic form, Sagat glares down at the Doll. "I see no need to mock you," Sagat rumbles. "Only to let you know that this is what I am capable of. Vega can some find me whenever he likes -- and I will not /hold back/ quite so much as I did against you. Heh." Sagat then turns and begins to walk away, his business with the Doll -- and the village -- concluded.

COMBATSYS: Sagat has ended the fight here.

Luckily, Marz has a little help getting back up to her feet after the beating. Her underling provides a good support, and she is half-dragged, half-helped back upright. "Message received." She groans, turning back around so that she can collapse into the jeep. Thankfully... not damaged by the conflict. She hadn't taken such a potent beating before, and she really didn't doubt that Sagat had been holding back against her; if he had struck with the force he leveled against her at the end from the beginning, she would never have been able to strike a single real blow.

"Get us out of here." She hisses to her driver, and, as ordered, he does so. It is only then that she lets herself collapse into blissful unconsciousness. Trusting her driver to get her out of there before the villagers grew -too- bold after the demonstration of power by their national hero.
