Neo League 801 - #808: Aranha vs Choi

Description: Two members of defeated teams in the Strolheim Tournament meet in the Exhibition Yard for a Neo League fight. Neither one of them are in a good mood. Someone's mood gets worse. (Winner: Aranha)

The Neo League was something Choi was not thinking much about in recent days. His concerns were on more worldly matters. Food. Sleep. Hiding. Especially the hiding part. Choi was on the run with the law, until Chae Lim and May Lee took him in. But Chae Lim and May Lee let him do this Strolheim thing. It was all fine a dandy, of course, until the team matches. Then he was introduced to Sadamazo, and the Yamazaki tied to it. But it was okay, after the beatings and the dragon suiting. It was all cool. Because after the team matches, it would be all okay, right?

Wrong.

Every moment of Choi's life was in danger. Yamazaki would not rest until he made Choi pay for losing the match. And the Korean, well, the Korean was running out of places to hide. He couldn't leave the castle, nor could he stay. Every moment was one of suffering and regret. But then, Neo League sent him a request for a match. They sent it to him quite a while ago. It was only recently that he accepted.

The midget slips out into the dirt-covered fighting arena, eyes drifting out furiously. Paranoia was taking a toll of his mental state, but at least he was still aware. Choi saw the small judging crew chattering, preparing the camera for record keeping and for media. He tipped the brim of his hat up with one his claws. Maybe this wasn't going to be so bad. It was a long time since he had a real fight that didn't involve a psychopath stuffing him into things.

Aranha for his part didn't accept his own NL invitation for a number of reasons. He still had to deal with the tournament. But considering his team lost in the main tournament, his team doesn't have that much of a distraction anymore short of perhaps Bonus Matches.

While his trip to Strolheim wasn't as traumatic as Choi's experience but the knowledge that one of his most hated enemies was in Strolheim and he was unable to do a damn thing about it has been eating at him. Between accepting the match and the fight proper, he had been pacing back and forth quietly.

When he actually gets to the dirt covered arena, the normal, laidback capoeirista that usually shows up to these fights is absent. Instead they get to see a moody black man walk in with his arms crossed and the most noticable difference is the lack of the Oakley Thumps. There's no greeting no trash talk. Just him staring at Choi and sizing him up.

Two men on losing teams met on the battlefield. Both normally laidback, now suffering inner turmoil by the outcome of their fights. Choi spies the man walking on, but doesn't say anything. The crew hustles into position, finalizing the equipment now that both fighters were on the scene. The midget was not in a great mood either, with a man seriously hunting him down for the kill. Spreading his body out, he lowers himself towards the ground, keeping his frame low.

"Um, yeah, you ready buddy boy?" The Korean begin, sounding distracted and a bit irate. The camera starts rolling, and the referee gives them a thumbs up. "Ready... Fight!" Choi looks flustered, his statement mostly ignored for the sake of moving the fight along. Were they really disrespecting them like this? At least the SNFs were somewhat better managed when it came to relations with the fighters. And by relations, I mean using young females. Oooooh yeah.

COMBATSYS: Choi has joined the fight here.

Aranha would probably disagree with the relations statement. However he tends to do the NL fights more because he finds it easier to fit fights around his schedule with them than it is to do so with the SNFs. That is neither here nor there.

What really matters to the capoeirista is this moment and he answers Choi's question with a quick nod before coming out of the gates with a swaying dance. Slowly he closes the distance and then all of a sudden he spins around before thrusting a side kick right into the smaller fighter's midsection.

COMBATSYS: Choi parries Aranha's Change-Up Kick!

Choi watches Aranha approach him with a... strange look on his face. He hadn't actually understood what a capoeirista was. To be honest, he half expected Aranha to use coffee-based attacks. You know, like Mocha Latte, Double Shot Espresso, or maybe even I Said Soy! Instead, the man was... dancing towards him?

The swaying dance seems to almost hypnotize the smaller fighter. Back and forth, Aranha moved around, moving with unusual grace. The little man was well wary, naturally. As the man closes in, the explosion of a kick catches Choi by surprise. Unfortunately, catching the Korean by surprise isn't always a good thing.

The kick towards the chest is met with both claws and a jump. The foot easily passes under Choi as he shoves it down, letting it strike the ground at an odd angle. He didn't have much time to react, so he might as well let Aranha have it. Looking grimly at the dancing fiend, he pushes into Aranha, well into his circle of control. With that, he sticks his claws out. A slightly tingle of energy emits from the little man as he suddenly begins to spin, lifting up in the air at surprising speeds. Blue waves of wind energy arc between his claws as he whirls like a top, trying to suck Aranha up in the air with the spinning claws of death.

COMBATSYS: Choi successfully hits Aranha with Tatsumaki Shippuu Zan EX.

Aranha attempted to make the recoil from his kick as quick as possible so that he would be able to react appropriately to Choi's response. However, Aranha just didn't count on the response being that quick. He attempted to compensate by covering his body up as he spins away but the chi wind and claws simply break through his defenses sending the capoeirista flying.

The Dancing Spider rises to his feet and moves back in dropping low to perform a low sweeping kick which wouldn't be much more than a distraction. The real attack however comes from when he pulls himself up into a handstand using the momentum from the sweeping kick and then with a swing of his arm, he generates even more spinning momentum to smack Choi in the face a few times with his feet while in that handstand position.

COMBATSYS: Choi dodges Aranha's Inverted Tornado.

The whirlwind of cutting and cleaving takes the Dancing Spider up with Choi, and after a short slice cycle, lets him free. The Korean had some trouble, though. Falling back down to the ground with a short bound, he was still recovering from the attack when Aranha moved in. There wasn't much that the Korean could do with the low kick but to catch it. Just as quickly, he shoves himself back, creating distance between him and Aranha. This would prove very important.

The little man catches on that it was a feint when the dancer begins to swing his legs around, like some sort of break dancer. The midget breaks it short, shuffling backwards quickly, keeping just out of range of the long legs with short hops. At the same time, he was reading the pattern. There was some sort of rhythm, or something. The Korean thought if he was quick, he might slip past his guard. "Hey, buddy boy, you call that fighting? Where are you from, anyways?" Choi asked with a leer, some change in the initially dour beginning. Suddenly, as the second leg passed short of the midget's nose, he rolled forward, launching low and fast along the ground. Attempting to enter Aranha's space of control, he leaps upwards again, this time in a backflip. Foot out, he was attempting to catch the man hard in the jaw while he was still low to the ground. He seemed to be playing it low. So be it. Choi would just play it high.

COMBATSYS: Aranha dodges Choi's Hien Zan.

The short hops both work for Choi and against him. While it got him away from Aranha's kicks they also gave Aranha a bit of time to recover and as the capoeirista closes his legs he catches sight of the attempt to catch him in the jaw and he uses the spin that he had before plus he swings his arm across his body to add even more spin which allows the capoeirista to pull himself out of the way of the backflip kick.

Aranha then takes advantage of Choi's hang time by marching in while still maintaining the handstand and as he comes down he snaps his legs downward alternating between legs as he snaps a flurry of handstand kicks at the Tae-Kwon-Do Claw fighter while responding to Choi. "In answers to your questions, Yes, I do call it fighting and I come from America, though my style is from Brazil."

COMBATSYS: Choi full-parries Aranha's Inverted Flurry!

The little man launches up in the air, missing his target. This was trouble, as he was falling back down right in the path of the whirling legs of pain. "Brazil? I love your wax jobs!" Was the shout, though a bit nervous this time. But WAIT! The midget suddenly shifts his weight around. Flattening his body out significantly, he suddenly dives right for the legs.

Spreading his claws forward and pointed, he simply goes right for the heart of the kicking Spider of the Dance. Shoving the legs aside, he begins to spin like drill. Throwing all his weight down, he attempts to pin the American to the ground. If he makes it, he will just spin, spin, spins against his spin, outspinning the spinner.

The spin has stopped. The flurry of stopped. Aranha even drops out of the handstand and begins to stand up. For a moment it may even look like the capoeirista is about to let Choi pin him down face first. Until atleast the blue glow surfaces on his elbow.

And that's the moment the capoeirista side steps. He can't get away completely and the claws slash at his side as Choi travels past him and head first right into the glowing elbow as he utilizes both Choi's own momentum as well as putting his entire body into the chi-enhanced elbow shot.

Choi slams hard past Aranha in what is probably his biggest mistake in this match. He managed to cut the Dancing Spider, yes, but the priority was the fact his weapons were embedded deep in the ground. With other weapons, this wasn't a problem. For a pair of gloves, this was.

The elbow smashes the midget HARD in the ground. A cloud of dust erupts as the little man is buried underfoot. The remnants of the energy course through the surface of the dirt, broken only by the little man exploding from the depths. "KYEEEHAAAAAAAI!" Choi howls, front flipping from the dirt. Sticking his heel out, he attempts to drive a foot right into the skull of the fighter, smashing HIM into the ground. Letting HIM crawlz, precious.

COMBATSYS: Aranha blocks Choi's Toorima Geri.

As the foot comes crashing into his skull, the capoeirista rocks away from Choi's heel as he brings up a forearm to intercept the foot. With a spin he pulls away once more before shaking out his arm. With a calm breath, he's back in again and this time he drops in low as he reaches for both of Choi's feet as he attempts to grab both of them and pull his legs from under him.

COMBATSYS: Choi endures Aranha's Quick Throw!

Choi's pick up lands hard upon Aranha's arm, still giving him the opportunity to run on through to the Spider Man's opposite side. Unfortunately, a capoeirista doesn't really HAVE a flank, as the Korean finds out. The fighter is already trying to scoop the midget up to send him to the ground. But right there is where Aranha makes HIS biggest mistake.

Choi lands hard face first, losing his hat in the process. A small shower of small photographs fall out on the arena floor, most of the various female contenders that approached the tournament. Yeah, Choi was famished when it came to good pornography. Even the most soft-core required careful patience, and Yamazaki just made things more difficult. However, as they all scatter around, the midget was continuing the flip, rolling off his head and into a sort of wound up crouch.

"Hey! Watch the goods, twinkle toes!" The midget snarls, swiftly unwinding his body. A strong wind blow across the arena from all sides, blowing up the dust on the floor. The midget suddenly begins to spin faster and faster, drawing in the wind energy around him into a swiftly growing tornado. The maelstrom was building faster and faster, sucking up the dust of the arena. The crew began to brace the equipment, trying to keep it stable. The whirlwind seemed to bend and ebb, consuming Choi in the dust. And then, he rushed at Aranha, attempting to drag him into the dust devil.

COMBATSYS: Choi successfully hits Aranha with Shin! Tatsumaki Shinkuu Zan.

Aranha's eyes open wide as he sees the whirlwind kicking up. It gets bigger and Aranha decides he wants no part of it. The problem is in the fact that he can't seem to get traction and Aranha's attempt to put his considerable speed to use becomes futile.

Wind pulls him in and tosses his body about like a rag doll in the hands of a tantrum throwing child before flinging him away. He rolls to his feet and while normally, he's most comfortable close in, he has some things he can use if he finds himself outside of his ideal ranges. As matter of fact the capoeirista whips an arm across his body as he flings a blue chi web right for the other speedster even as he begins to move right after he's flung it.

COMBATSYS: Choi dodges Aranha's Web Shot.

Choi's whirlwind sucks up dust, Aranha, and pornography into a storm of three very dirty things. And with that, they are all scattered across the Arena as the tornado winds down. Blue streaks of energy run into the ground as the midget stands strong in the middle of the storm, grinning like a cat. Actually fighting somewhat well! He had forgotten how it feels to stand and fight instead of running like a little girl. Like Mignon!

Yes, as his offense escalates, he begins to rush right back Aranha, bald head glistening in the sunlight. The Dancing Spider shoots web, but like a catgirl at Lolicon, he easily avoids the shot in at his face. With a hard duck to the right, he uses his claw to keep balance as he whips himself up at over. Attempting to corral Aranha's lunge to the side, he sweeps the claw around, attempting to punish his movement with a low swipe of the claw.

COMBATSYS: Choi successfully hits Aranha with Quick Strike.

The attempt to corral Aranha's movement is quite successful. As Choi moves in, Aranha is forced to adjust his movement which ends up working to the claw fighter's advantage and Aranha's feet only get more tangled up by Choi's claw swipe to the legs.

With a growl, Aranha is sent to the ground and off of his feet. With a spin on dirt and blood covered ground Aranha brings himself to a crouched position before snapping out a foot for the bald claw fighter's head before returning to a standing position.

Capoeiristas do not like getting attacked in the legs.

And midgets don't like being tossed!

Choi's swipe knocks Aranha in his place, keeping the nimble fighter in a much better position to manage. Claws spread out wide, he was about to rush on in... until the Dancing Spider gets the jump on him.

The midget brings his arms up to his face, deflecting the rapid strike with a forced smash with both. Crude, and not that effective. However, Choi had his own ideas. Dropping both claws low, he sneered, letting his tongue hang out. "You're going DOWN, Buddy Boy!" He mocked, suddenly ripping both claws upwards, attempting to not only rake the pair across the dancer, but to knock him off balance!

COMBATSYS: Aranha interrupts Power Strike from Choi with Royal Flush.

Aranha knows he can't get away. While he was fast he wasn't that fast nor could he afford to have any more of his strikes miss. So he steps in at an angle causing his back to get raked by Choi's claw while simply stepping around the other claw as he whips a glowing foot around to slap the Korean with an Outside crescent kick.

That's when the onslaught begins as he spins and spins delivering a variety of blue chi kicks. Side kicks, roundhouse kicks, more outside crescent kicks before suddenly changing directions as he delivers even more of those kicks and then adding spinning back heels as he introduces Choi to almost every bread and butter kick of his martial art style. Then the Korean gets a moment's reprieve before Aranha tilts into a handstand performs his Inverted Tornado once more the difference being that the feet are engulfed in blue chi and that it lasts for a bit longer before Aranha returns to the standing position.

Choi's double slash is cut short by another sort of cyclone. The first kick knocks his face to the ground again. Fortunately, he gets lifted right from the floor by the series of kicks afterwards. Even without the chi, the beatdown would have been almost too much for the little man. While he had not been hit much, it was pretty apparent that those kicks were LETHAL! Whirling those legs around, the midget was finally freed from the horrible onslaught with a long, slow toss away with the final kick.

Choi lands on his feet.

The midget launches himself right back at Aranha, broken ribs digging hard into his lungs. But that wasn't the focus. Tearing his claws through the air, he leapt at Arhana, unleashing his OWN frenzy of attacks, though with much more emphasis on his claws. He swings blindly, wildly, focusing less on the quality of slices but more on the quantity of dices. He finishes the whirlwind of cuts and blows with the Kaphwan special: A backflipping kick right up in the air.

COMBATSYS: Choi successfully hits Aranha with Hou'ou Kyaku.

Choi answers his frenzied attack with a frenzied attack of his own of his own and Aranha doesn't want to chance making a mistake so late in the game. And it's his conservative approach that ends up being the mistake made on his part. Aranha tries to bob and weave while keeping his arms up to protect him however the first claw slips under his defenses and then it becomes a blur of claws and feet until in the end Aranha is sent flying backwards by the backflip kick and he finds himself rolling away from the impact and right into a wall and next to a chair.

Given these two things Aranha decides to get a bit creative and he tosses the chair right past Choi so it lands in the upright position and then Aranha runs past him and right for the chair before leaping off the chair high into the air before coming down feet first on the Korean. "This part of my style comes from Europe." Regardless of whether or not he can get his foot on Choi, he'll roll away from him.

Choi's furious assault ends, leaving him sailing up in the air. Landing with a solid bounce, he expects Aranha to be on the ground, cut thousands of times. Instead, a new thought enters his mind.

Where did that chair come from?

The thought is shortly followed by a BOOT TO THE HEAD. Seriously. Choi, in a moment of sheer brilliance, decides to follow Aranha as he jumps in the air. However, the light of the sun catches his eye, blinding him for just a moment. And that moment is all it takes, for in one smooth motion, Choi's skull is buried deep in the ground. There is a low mutter from the depths. The midget was stuck underground, and there was only one way out. Struggling, he attempts to twist and twist and twist and...

Then, the midget rockets backwards, shooting like a top behind him. Whirling like a drill, he was this time going feet first. It just so happened that Aranha was in the way. But Choi wasn't focusing on hitting him. His major focus was on the fake that he couldn't see, and that his body felt like jelly. Dirt was clinging to his face, but there was something else, something more interesting clinging to the blood-soaked dust...

COMBATSYS: Choi can no longer fight.

And Aranha looks up from his roll to see Choi try his hand at Andy Bogard's Kuuhadan. Any sense of rhythm is abandoned as Aranha sees the feet coming and is off. The experience as a thief and traceur come into play as he just runs. He freakin guns it and is not only running to get out of the way but past the cameras and out the door in a blur.

Aranha's running speed not only kicks up the dirt, and sends the softcore pictures of the female competitors. Choi is probably lucky Aranha hadn't seen any of those pictures of Tiffany in the mix. However Choi will find out that one of the pictures is missing.

After awhile Aranha, finally stops and he looks down as a photograph that had clung onto him while he was in that insane dash out of the exhibition yard flutters into his hand. He looks down and sees a picture of his team mate in pictures that she had no say about being involved in. After a bit of a pause the officials are trying to decide whether or not to call the fight in the Capoeirista's favor. And that's when the walls rattle with the sound of Aranha's roar.

"CHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOI!!!! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING WITH PICTURES OF MY TEAM MATE!?!?!?"

COMBATSYS: Aranha has ended the fight here.
