Description: The White Arena plays host to two bloody battlers--the swordswoman, Setsuka, and Choi Boung, the perverted demon of Tae Kwon Do. What ensues is a short, but bloody battle... (Winner: Setsuka)
Neo League. It has been a background distraction for the young assassin known as Setsuka--something she does in spare time. As a result, her standings in it have been... well, practically nonexistent. But she is, for the most part, quite alright with it--it is, after all, just a diversion for her. Something to do when she isn't busy--though, she had to admit, with some distaste, she -hasn't- been busy for a while now... though she is comfortably off, to be sure, her monetary situation is not an issue--her skills... she just doesn't get as much practice in, nowadays, as she should. But then... this is a perfect reason to fight in the Neo League, despite some pesky restrictions.
Rather appropriately, the Neo League fight is in the Masters Stadium, the White Arena--a good place for a match, a very traditional sort of dojo setting--the kind of place Setsuka used to train in, as a child. Setsuka, not well-known, has few 'fans' in the audience--in fact it would be safe to say she has none. This is not a bother, to her. She is standing at one end of the center mat, spotlighted with a spare, stark white light; she seems.. patient, for now, waiting for her opponent, one Choi Bounge. She doesn't know much about the Korean fighter--Tae Kwon Do, something extra, and.. 'fast'. That's the word on the street--that this Choi is one of the fastest things around. She will have to see--she prides herself on her speed, as well, but she full knows that there are those even faster than her--that she has far to go still.
Despite that, she waits, her blade sheathed, the scabbard gripped in her left hand, currently moving so as to dip the far tip of the blade in a hypnotic, bobbing rhythm.
Already, Choi and Setsuka would be getting off on the wrong foot. Officially speaking, Choi's style was Tae Kwon Do. A few notations made it clear that he used some claws with his technique. But the word on the street... who has she been talking too? Most of Choi's draw WASN'T with his speed (though a good portion of it was from Koreans desperate for representation.) Instead, it was how he treated his opponents... especially those of the female persuasion.
At the opposite end of Setsuka was the little midget himself. He was in the midst of sidestretches, keeping himself nice and limber. His face switches between pained :O's to sleazy ;)'s as he looks over at the sword-weilding femme fatale. Already, Choi and his unethical 10-year old fans (who relate to Choi is ways that NO ONE wants), were eyeing the younger (or older, as the case may be) woman with hungry eyes. Shoulderless, backless, belly-button showing, and best of all, 'technically decent.' And that slit. Choi's grin was becoming more and more toxic and he shifted to windmills, finishing off his routine.
"KYAA haaai HAAAAI." The midget howled, throwing himself back gleefully. "So, babe, just to make it clear, I respect women fighters." The Korean faces the camera to give a clawed thumbs up. "So if you think I might take it easy on you, well, I won't, sweetie!" He faces back over- well, face isn't the right word here. He focuses on SOMETHING of Setsuka, crouching low into his battle stance. Not wishing to delay the ready fighters any longer, the match buzzer sounds off. "So come on, toots, let me what you got!" The midget squeals, motioning the woman to make the first move.

It's undoubtable--in fact, it is likely inevitable--that Setsuka will come to hate this little midget of a fighter. She does her research--carefully--and so she knows he fights with an odd, -armed- variant on Tae Kwon Do. And it's hard to miss his penchant for... abusing... the female fighters he fights. And yet, here she is. Perhaps she thinks she can 'teach him a lesson'... or maybe she's going to be fighting on behalf of all the women he's wronged... but no, the truth is, she doesn't really care about Choi's antics. That is, she doesn't care -yet-. She's a cold woman, to be sure, an ice queen, but even ice can be melted by anger. It just isn't there. Yet.
Her smile is thin and not at all pleasant--in fact, it's rather intended to make it clear that she doesn't believe him one bit. "I am, of course, 'glad to hear it'," she replies, levelly.
5t"I wouldn't want you to 'take it easy' on me. And I'm sure you will forgive me for doing the same." That said, she's already adjusting her aimpoint, realizing she'll just have to attack lower if she wants to hurt this little man. Claws.. bah. She has a sword, even if the blade is only two thirds of a meter long, not the full meter of a katana. It's faster.
She begins by tapping her foot, her lead one, in a soft, quick rhythm. Tap tap tap and on the third one she's gone, blurring forward. It's a combination of training and her power, boosting her as she lunges, coming out of the pseudo-teleport already slashing--cutting downwards with her blade, the hissing steel singing as it's pulled free and swept in a vertical arc to try and bisect Choi. Only, it's aimed not to cut him -really- in half, but for a shoulder... this ia, after all, a public match.

Choi beckoning finger was answered. That was about the only thing good to come from the whole ordeal. The Korean, unlike his opponent, doesn't really believe in much research. Mostly 'gender' and 'weapon/style.' He didn't even understand what kind of style it was. But when she blasts forward, the midget is taken off-guard. He didn't expect anyone to be THAT fast.
So Setsuka is quickly upon Choi. And the midget tries to pull the shuffle-step: move down and around the advancing girl. But despite the effort, her choice in fast blades pays off; Choi hisses in pain when blade catches his arm. Fortunately, there is only ooze; no shower, no critical wounds. And with that, the Korean just keeps his shuffle.
"Whoooooweeee!" The midget cackles, swiping feebly through the air to get some reaction... but otherwise, not a real attack. Rather, he dives hard right and around, whipping around her flanks at a jagged pace. Stop, start- start, stop. "You are a fast babe, you know?" The Korean teases, before jumping to her left... then up. The Korean vaults, flipping through the air. As he falls, he flattens his body straight out, and just spins like a drill. With one claw out, he tried to finish his strange pretzel dance with a diving drill strike, hopefully catching her off-guard.

Setsuka's strike lands--and she smiles. Landing a hit is always more viscerally happy for her--something about her psychological makeup, maybe... and when Choi starts darting around, she replies, "I've heard much the same about you, Bounge-san." She's addressing him respectfully--but her voice drips with sarcasm... not that she doesn't believe that he -isn't- fast, but Choi's quick ruse is not fooling her in the least; she waits until the last moment of his movement, when he's drilling forward, that she stamps down, leaping into the air, letting Choi pass underneath her. As she leaps, she tucks into a ball, and hurls herself into a quick spin; as she spins, she slashes outwards with the blade, hoping to catch Choi along the back.
Despite her speed, grace, and elegance, her fighting style is proving to be rather brutal--though she is, Choi might note, refraining from making strikes against his vitals. Then again, that means more superficial pain for him, if she hits, and that can't be good either, can it? Either way... though she's sure he would prefer to live, even in pain, than die spitted on her blade--a blade already streaked with his blood...

Choi 0/-------/----===|====---\-------\0 Setsuka
Choi shoots down to the ground, letting Setsuka fly over him. He expected something like this would happen. Choi might not show it much, but he has SOME cunning. Before he hits the ground, he flips out of his spinning, and bounces right back. As Setsuka enters her own spin, Choi lunges through the air, claw straight out. Her blade spins around to catch his back, but instead the Korean's shoulder.
Unfortunately, he was driving his claws right into the vitals of the assassin.
Choi twists slightly before dropping back to the ground, letting loose a high-pitched cackle as he observed the fresh blood on his claws. "LOVELY!"
Cunning, indeed! Setsuka was half-expecting such a reversal--and it -is- painful, to be sure--but she twists, just avoiding any serious internal damage. Still hurts like hell, though--she's never been one to enjoy her own pain too much, though... well, no. As she twists off the blades, she spins to land on her feet, her lips pressed into a thin line as she masters her pain. But soon enough she's smiling, although it is perhaps more a baring of teeth...
"Very good, Bounge-san... I thought you might try something like that... you don't disappoint in the least." And she 'stomps', lunging forward again... though not to strike. Instead, she blurs into view maybe two steps from Choi, and alters her angle, blurring again... tucking into a ball, snapping her hands down as she attempts to fly over Choi and grab his injured shoulders, to use her momentum to literally fling him away from her, as she violently, but gracefully, alters her momentum and trajectory.

Choi 0/-------/----===|====---\-------\0 Setsuka
Thanks to her talents of dancing in and out of sight, Choi was having great difficulty keeping track of the assassin. The only thing Choi can follow is her arrogance. She was fast, Choi could give her that. And judging by the wounds, she was nasty with a blade. However, she had one thing that Choi didn't have.
Greater body mass.
Choi catches the girl as he lands, seeing her flicker in to sight. As the hands reappear to catch him, Choi responds with... rolling. The little man simply ducks low and rolls, effectively halving his size. The hands sink over him, and then beside him. Breaking from the roll with a solid jump, The Korean attempts to get control back in this fight. "Pfft. Learn to act before thinking... toots." Choi spits as he vaults again, flying spread eagle through the air. Trying to catch her before she lands on the ground, the midget swipes with his left claw at the woman, upping the pressure just slightly.

Choi 0/-------/-======|=====--\-------\0 Setsuka
Fast. Choi finally shows it, defeating her speed-based attack sequence by... ducking--her hands grasp empty air and she's speeding away from him. Choi's mocking words -do- reach her ears, of course--she isn't so fast as to be able to get that far away--but she's far enough, by the time he speaks, to have started turning. Still, Choi may intend to catch her off-guard--he is fast enough to do it--and she'll let him think, for just a fraction of a second, that he has managed to do so. The clawing hand seems to touch flesh, to sink in... but no, it seems as if it's not to be.
Just as that claw touches the fabric of her dress, Setsuka glows purple-blue--and seems to burst into energy. That much does happen. However, her reformation is just as swift--and now she's at an angle above Choi, and all too close as she raises her right hand, held in a stiff knife-hand, from which extends a good foot of that blue-purple energy, formed into a glowing, somewhat indistinct blade.
That blade of energy is lashed through Choi's body--it'll leave no physical damage, just the sensation of coldly burning pain, like ice and electricity wrapped into one. Her comment, as she slashes Choi with that blade of her mind's energies, is simply, "Very well."
Control of the pacing slips away from the midget once again. He thinks he makes contact. And he still believes he does when the energy lashes out at him. The pain rends through him, giving what could be like the painful transition from being numb. The midget lets loose a short hoot in pain before colliding to the ground.
Well, Choi, you WERE asking for it.
The midget staggers up, looking slightly off-balance. He sways to the left... then hard right. Despite his apparent confusion, the little man was pushing himself forward at the girl. And then, he trips. Or starts to trip, regaining his balance awkwardly by spinning around. And around. And around. The midget goes from his punch-drunk staggering into a whirlwind-like charge. Streaks of azure whip around him as Choi spins like a top. And with that, he forces himself to pirouette aggressively towards Setsuka, attempting to cut her body to ribbons.

Choi 0/-------/=======|=======\=------\1 Setsuka
She definitely comes out the worse for wear, there. Rather painfully so, actually; her body is certainly cut all over, Choi's combination of fierce, wind-based chi and those claws not doing Setsuka any good. She wasn't so silly as to try and weather it--but finding the actual attack in that mass of tornado-like claw and chi. She, however, refuses to do anything other than hiss, even as her oh-so-crimson blood washes down her body in rivulets. Presumably, however, she has a spare dress or two, just in case... like Choi, she's quite pained, but she isn't down and out yet.
But closer than she'd like, for sure; the woman, however, is in a mood to slow the pace of the fight. So she withdraws, perhaps ten yards, enough distance to make any moves from Choi not -too- sudden... watching... and waiting, almost curious to see what the little midget will do next. This Choi... this demon goblin of Tae Kwon Do... he's certainly a little crazier than her -usual- opponent...
And she actually likes that. She can respect crazy. Because, as someone once said, long ago--crazy recognizes crazy. And Setsuka, if you peel back the layers, is certifiable.
COMBATSYS: Setsuka focuses on her next action.

Ten yards.
A very risky distance to approach. The midget staggers out from the spin, letting the streaks of chi scatter harmlessly across the arena. His staggering emulates the same as before, just a blind march towards Setsuka. And with that, Choi makes a quick case of the situation.
Five yards.
Setsuka had the cards in her hands. She had a weapon. Worse, she had a sharp mind. That smile was something Choi had seen in the likes of Kim. People who smile often were very dangerous. He knew that she was in a prime position to counter anything he threw. She could just sidestep. Read his timing- ah, that was it. Timing.
7 yards.
Choi grinned broadly as he pulled away to the side giving some distance away from the girl. She was fast, yes. She could approach well, yes. But Choi... Choi decided he just wasn't to play that game. Slowing his run, he faced the girl, bringing his claws close in to him. And he carefully... stretched. "Kya ha haaaa... You almost got me." The Korean cooed, loosening his limbs slightly. "You're pretty smart, that's one of the things I like in a woman." And to hint at the rest, he carefully ran his eyes up and down the woman, investigating a more personal set of weaknesses and strengths.
COMBATSYS: Choi gains composure.

If he wants to get her 'information', well... she's not exactly hiding her body. She just... smiles, at Choi's assessment. A sharp smile, as sharp as the blade in her hand. She shifts her body into the 'classic' battoujutsu stance--right leg forward, bent at the knee, left back directly behind her.. right shoulder turned towards Choi, right hand on the hilt of her blade. Her eyes narrow, watching Choi. Deciding that his slow approach... hides something else. He took a moment--a moment he could have used to attack--and yet...
Suddenly, Setsuka bursts forward again. Fast. Maybe even faster. Pushing herself. But if Choi is expecting an attack with the blade... well, he'll be somewhat disappointed. She -does- attack with her right, though... bringing it to bear as she aims to pass right by Choi, a purple-blue ball of psionic energy forming on her hand, one that she tries to 'plant' on Choi's chest.
Is this the 'final' act of the play...?

Choi 1/-----==/=======|==-----\-------\0 Setsuka
Tag. The first 'ball' of energy is planted in Choi's chest; quick as a flash, Setsuka speeds past Choi again, planting a second ball into the small of his back. And then, a third time--this one planted at his throat. She speeds past him, comes to a halt... and raises her right hand.
"Die." And she snaps her finger... then each 'ball' goes off, exploding, in order, wracking Choi with a localized storm of strident, cold, electric psionic energy... probably, it isn't enough to K.O. him... but it will do a good amount of damage, regardless... enough to really make him think twice, perhaps...
Quickdraw. Choi expected SOMETHING like that. Just, you know, while he was charging. Instead, she went through with the draw anyways. Or so Choi thought. The little man brought his claws up to bear, ready to shove aside the oncoming blade. Which never comes.
Instead, the midget feels something touch his chest. That same, strange post-numb feeling. And another on his back. Choi looks stupid, jaw slack as he turns towards the girl. What was happening finally reached the midgets mind. A look of fear erupted over his face as he crossed his arms over his body, bracing himself for the inevitable strike.
*snap*
Choi feels a pain ripping across the left side of his body. He collapses, spasming violently. The midget turns pale, and he wildly hits his chest. His heart. She stopped his heart. The Korean finally howled feebly, squirming in agony on the ground.
And then, he stopped.
Choi breathed slowly. Steadily. His vision was.. grey. His left side was numb, and everything felt heavy. Choi felt like he was trapped in a nightmare that he was slowly waking up from. Carefully, he stood up, but even that felt sluggish. His mind had some sort of schism with his body, being able to think faster than he could react. The Korean vision suddenly went tunnel for a moment, nausea overwhelming him. Still, he moved his arms up, putting himself back in a battle stance. "Make me, SLUT" The midget screams, charging forward aggressively.
Near the end, the Korean winds his claw back, attempting to drive it into the Setsuka's throat. Instead, his left leg gives way. The Korean stumbles to the ground, but just goes with it. Rolling along the ground, he pushes off the ground and takes the roll in the air. Claws out slightly, he attempted to roll right over the chest and face of the assassin, cutting her up subtly as he took to the air.

Choi 1/---====/=======|-------\-------\0 Setsuka
Oh! A challenge. Setsuka could probably just dance away from Choi, all things considered--his charge, the stumble... the roll that brings Choi coming at her with those whirling claws. It's a dangerous manuever--if she chooses wrong, he'll definitely do some real damage to her, damage that might not be irreperable but would put her nearly out... and put her up for far too long. So instead, she draws her blade. But she doesn't wield it one handed--this time, she grips it with both hands. And she uses her range advantage to her benefit.
The rolling, tumbling Choi is, literally, impaled on Setsuka's blade--the kodachi's sharp blade piercing his torso, possibly nicking his stomach, but aimed in such a way as to miss all the vital organs. What it -will- strike is every nerve cluster it can find, to bring agony to the offensive little man.
"Have I satisfied your need for pain yet?" she lilts, softly, as she lifts her right leg up--giving Choi, if he's still aware of it, a fairly nice view of her leg as she pushes him off the blade, whipping the weapon around to lash some of the blood off and into the matting. Honestly... she's been drinking up his pain throughout the fight, almost like a succubus, or a vampire...
Choi's rolling strike is stopped suddenly... it what might be the worst way possible. Choi lets loose a funny gurgle when the sword catches him cleanly right below the rib cage. Combined with the cardiac arrest, the only thing keeping Choi from sinking into shock... was probably the momentum from pulling out of the shock. The little man doesn't react much more otherwise. In fact, the only thing that moves is his head, slowly sinking lower and lower with the gaze. Each twist rend more and more pain in the man. His gaze finally settles on the leg... before he is shoved off.
The leg causes something to boil from within the Korean. Satisfaction. The Korean suddenly begins to chuckle, before it breaks down into a quick series of blood-soaked coughs. "*HAAGH KRAAAAAGH* Heh... heh..." The little man rises with unusual speed. The strength required is too much for his body to handle, and he visibly struggle to stay up. And then, he balances himself, pointing his two hands at her, like guns. A single claw of each hand pointed at Setsuka, and a crimson-stained grin erupts over his face. "Baby, there is only one type of ~Satisfaction~ you can be giving to me!"
With that, the little man hoots, flattening his palms and arms will out around him. He spins around and around, forcing himself to whirl like a top... then like a tornado. The same streams of blue energy whirl around him, but this time, they spread. The midget is consumed by a massive cyclone, sucking in what little blood and debris in the room to feed itself. And with that, the whirlwind charges at Setsuka, attempting to drag her in to the heart of the storm itself.

Taken for a ride. Setsuka cannot help the short scream that rips from her throat as she's swept up into the tornado, despite her best efforts--the thing is just too wide, too massive, for her to avoid properly. And the pain... she's slashed at by the tornado, even as she's spiralled upwards, carried by the tornado up and up and up only to eventually slam into the flooring... and as she rises... clearly she's on her last legs, too, almost wobbly, though her eyes burn bright with determination. "No," she rasps, her voice almost sounding as if it were in disuse, from the ravages to her throat.
"I'm not... out.. yet..." And as much as it hurts, she resumes her fighting pose... and then she charges forward, summoning her will, ignoring her pain for this brief moment... wanting nothing more than to just end this. She charges forward, but then stops, maybe five yards from Choi... ripping her blade from the sheath, slashing outwards.
But she isn't slashing for Choi--she's unleashing a crescent wave of power, a blue-purple arc of energy screaming for Choi's body, meant to -end- the fight...

Choi 0/-------/-======|=======\-------\1 Setsuka
Choi doesn't really get where Setsuka is on about being on her last legs. Where did she think Choi was at? The midget struggles to stay in place after the tornado disintegrates, releasing its energy out over the arena in a harmless but cool looking light show. The little man had the traditional taste of death. He had been cut to ribbons, numbed, and impaled. And now, with the arc of energy ripping towards him, he could only stare. Oh, he tried to sidestep it. But that was the thing: his body just couldn't function to move.
The blast cleaves between his right arm and upper chest. A fresh stream of blood shoots out as flesh is broken. The midget opens his mouth to howl in pain, but there is only a staccato series of hoots. Was he... laughing? It wasn't clear to even Choi anymore. He just started to stagger towards Setsuka. She was on her last ropes too. He stared at her legs. "You... You are pretty..." The midget mumbled, weaving as he advanced. His fedora slipped from his head over his face, letting loose a shower of small photographs. Finally, he slipped... or acted like he slipped on one of the photos, falling face forward- with his back leg stuck straight out, trying to catch Setsuka by surprise with an overhead strike.
But no matter. Choi landed on his face, blood streaming all around him...

Staggering he may be--but Setsuka is not feeling so fresh, herself. The expenditure of energy staggers her as well; she stumbles, and that brings her -just- in range for Choi's foot to strike her on the head. It's almost comical, but not for her; she gasps in pain, before she can control herself... and she wobbles, hard. The Neo League officials are almost ready to call it a draw... but then Setsuka pulls herself upright.
There's just one thing to do, now--she kneels... and cuts Choi's shirt off of him. Ripping it away, she uses the cloth to clean her blade, before tossing it back onto his chest, and sheathing her blade. The blow actually returned some of her stoicness; as the medics rush in, she does not deny their treatment, but she makes no sounds as they lead her away to be bandaged. It's a win for her, but only by the barest of margins... and yet the real joy for her was the pain of Choi. Something which she'll treasure, those memories of his pain...
